The Racing Mikus are a mascot for Good Smile Racing, so they feel obligated to make a new one for donors every year, and the Snow Mikus come from GSC sponsoring some snow festival up in Hokkaido if memory serves. What the fuck? Why? All you needed was a hair dryer or some warm water to make the plastic more pliable. You shouldn't be using shock oil on anything but obscenely tight joints you're afraid will stress/snap/tear due to how tight they are.

Also it's best not to use shock oil at all because the long term affects of it on plastic or paint may not be good. There is some evidence to suggest it may damage things over time. It should be a LAST RESORT. A little bit of bar soap is a much better way of loosening a joint without destroying the plastic or paint in the long term, just make sure you use a fairly natural soap not one loaded with chemicals or too many moisturizers.

Don't listen to him anon. Chicken Little is trying to scare you. Shock oil, greaseless lubricant, silicon based lube, any of that stuff is fine as long as it's not petroleum based. It's the petroleum based stuff that's bad for plastic. Like latex, it will eventually eat it up over time.
Really, the best thing is a TINY bit of dish soap applied to the tight parts with a toothpick or pin head will do just fine.

Silicone oil is fine. It can fill in some areas which are usually occupied by plasticizers for PVC, but plasticizers eventually leave anyway. Soap shouldn't be considered, its goal is to thin and kill bacteria; silicone oil is inert. Soap also isn't a genuine lubricant. The fact that you somehow think that something exclusively meant for plastic on plastic or plastic on metal lubrication (silucone oil) is worse than soap is baffling. The plasticized PVC effects are probably as slow as it takes for them to come out on their own, I don't know as there's not much information on the effects other than it just happening at really high temperatures a minor amount. Other plastics are fine, silicone oil can fill in pores but it's supposed to be inert, so it shouldn't ever react with the plastic. Also as silicone doesn't react with the plastic, and oxygen does, it's a benefit in its own right.

You're pretty much fine putting silicone oil on whatever you want on toys, aside from rubber. The thing with PVC is irrelevant in several cases since silicone oil was on the mold to help releases the pvc for some figures to begin with. I should reiterate, >>6351388 doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about.

Here's something I wrote on it 3 years ago, there'll be more information there, a long with sources, if you want more info.

The first source discusses the volume differences after plastics were immersed in their silicone oil (which should be the same, linear, trimethylsiloxy terminated polydimethylsiloxane as the silicone oil available at hobby shops) for a long period of time at a high temp. All of the effects are nominal and probably refer to free flowing stuff in the plastics and filling in pores, I can't be sure though as they don't discuss it in depth. It also shows that you shouldn't use it on most rubbers, which is very true. Again, silicone oil isn't corrosive, it just forces out free flowing plasticizers and otherwise in certain plastics and rubbers, but thankfully we only see plasticizers PVC on toys, which, again, has it on it to begin with in several circumstances. And I've personally never seen any effects on PVC and I've had plenty of figures oiled for years now.

I should mention, the only thing I've ever seen a problem with is that the polycarbonate balljoints on legos seem to get a minor degree more loose (I mean this ignoring the lubricant), but It's either the dye or just silicone acting as a buffer. Same thing with small ABS sockets that seem to have too much oil on them, so it seems like the cause is the latter.

Also, I just recently got some old EMSIA gelgoogs, and a long with some other joints, most of the shoulder joints were lubed with silicone. The shoulders are PVC on POM, and there's clearly no ill effects. The high mobility type one has some black paint on the joints but even the one which had no silicone had that, so it's easy to assume it was just the toothed surface of the ball and the paint being not completely dry that caused it. So that was 10 years of pvc sitting on silicone, done by the factory, with no ill effects.

And since this is a figma topic, I should mention that heating up pvc parts to fit in certain things is probably the best idea. Not because silicone is of harm, but because all of the actual joints are polypropylene on polyoxymethylene, which has extremely good wear resistance and no squeaking, so there's not a point getting oil in them. Especially since polypropylene warps more easily over time and you want as little a buffer as possible throughout the years.

Sorry about the long posts, just don't want people to worry that their silicone lubricated parts will get ruined. If you used soap, however, it's time to wash it off.

I don't have DMG, but here are some pictures of other girls using them. they seem to work with most schoolgirl sized figma, depending on the size of their legs. for example, they don't work with Senjougahara who has very long legs. they're 3.6 cm, or about the size of a DS cartridge.

if you only want then for fetish purposes I would recommend waiting and seeing whatever sunshine girl you can get cheaply in a year since they will all come with them. I got a Honoka last summer for like $25 on Amazon.

I've been using stick lubricant for years. It's solid like wax so I can slice a slither off and jam it into hard to reach joints. Used it to build kits, fix those overtight early SHFs, and even grease some burgerland figures.

Never had to use it on figma or nendos tho. I find them pretty perfect right out of the box.

I don't think the Keions go for $40+ each these days. The show hasn't been relevant for a while, so if you got lucky on Mandarake, you could probably get 'em for $20-30 each. As for alternatives, some company (I think it was McFarlane?) did some Guitar Hero-branded sets of guitars a while back that scaled pretty well. No idea what they go for these days. Figma Hatsune Miku 2.0 comes with a guitar and a mic if that's more to your liking than some character from a years-old show. And like the other guy said, you're not gonna find a 1/12 drum kit that's cheaper than Figma Ritsu.

KyoAni in general became much less of a hot topic after 2010 or so - none of their shows after that ever hit Lucky Star/Haruhi/K-On popularity levels, but they allegedly remained pretty hard to work with due to the success getting to their heads (hell, one of the things that hurt Nichijou was people boycotting it due to inflated BD prices). I imagine Max Factory just decided that the potential returns weren't worth the hassle of working with KyoAni, because the Free! ones were made by Hobby Stock.

Started out really enjoyable but repetition of the same gags and one note characters began to get old at a certain point so people started losing interest by the time the last episode aired.

And the majority of the attention people gave it was just for the thick loli in the first place.

Finally got my Link and Zelda in and wow, these are pretty damn nice. Zelda's fully posable legs with a dress that removes all functional posability continues to be confusing, though. Was pleasantly surprised with Link including a second stand just for using with the hookshot and ball'n'chain accessories since I hadn't noticed that being mentioned anywhere.
