Weird/obscure toys or figures that you own

Are the fingers wired at least?
>>6340521
I never knew a salad fingers figure existed. There a Hubert Cumberdale to go with him?
It would be really easy to just find some weird Bootlegs.
But I won't stoop to that level
So, I Submit to you: The Stone Protectors.
See, when it was apparent just how much fucking bank the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were making, everyone wanted in on that action. That includes the company that made troll dolls. Thing is, only girls were really interested in the Good Luck Troll dolls.
Enter the Stone Protectors. Trolls, that are edgy and radical and cool (at least they wanted you to think that way)
They even had a few toy vehicles which TOTALLY didn't copy the Ninja Turtles toys of having vehicles being made of a hodge podge of other objects cobbled together to make a vehicle. Oh wait... Yes, they did just that

$8.99 for a figure
When toys were reasonably priced and being a total Jew as a company was not on full blast
>>6341307
oh god I remember watching this bullshit before going to school, because it was the only bullshit on.
The god awful opening is burned into my mind....everything I learned in school? gone.

Actually, it's $7.99 for that figure.
And that was back in the good ol' days of the 90's where KB Toys sold new stuff 125~150% above MSRP. That figure should be around $5~6 at a regular store.
Of course nobody bought figures at such an "outrageous" price and unsold figures were regularly clearanced out to dirt cheap prices. The late 90's to early 2000's were the heyday of ultra cheap and obscure figures to be had at KB.
Now, $9 for a TMNT figure is considered cheap these days.

You do realise that even 5 USD in 1993 (the year The Stone Protectors aired) already translates to about 9 USD at 2017 rates, right?
That catalogue page is from, what, 1989-90? Let's say '90 to be conservative: 4.99 USD for a Pretender Monster is a bit less than 10 USD in 2017 --- what a Legends-class TF would cost you in Walmart today.
Why is /toy/ full grandpa-at-the-diner-with-pie-for-a-nickel when it comes to inflation? Less than 60 seconds on Google and a whiff of common sense is all it takes to prevent that.

>release the same toy three times instead of giving it swappable head
C-C-Combo!!! These knockoff Transformers came with translucent Extreme Dinosaurs minifigures that were previously only available in the UK.

>believing the inflation myth
yeah man rising prices are totally normal and always scale! has nothing to do with just wanting more money and being greedy. nope!

Oh jesus, had completely forgotten about this monstrosity. I think my friend had it.
One of my favorite toy photos I've ever taken.
>>6341307
>That includes the company that made troll dolls.
The Dam family wasn't able to get the coryrights back until 2003 so every fucking company was making Troll dolls during the 90's fad.
I've had these forever and I'll never part with them ever.

Is this some "going to jail" things?
>>6341338
Shiiiit, I had one of those robocop figures. The one you could load caps into the back of to make popping noises.
I can't for the life of me remember what they were called and only found pic related by sheer luck, but there were these virus themed toys in the 80s. I had two of them, but none of them are in this photo.
Also Barnyard Commandos and Army Ants were pretty boss. Orange Ants master race.

I have a few of these.

holy shit cubivore
now that's some obscure shit m8
>>6341338
I wonder what kinds of people drew the illustrations for old toy ads like these. What a comfy job that must have been.
Weird toys are my favorite things. Thanks for making this thread OP.
I have no idea what these are.
This one is from a concert tour I guess? I like trolling auction sites for weird obscure figures like this.
I'm sure there are legions of Todd McFarlane fans out there, but as an outsider to his work these are kinda weird
>>6356676
Looks like GeGeGe No Kitaro to me but I'm not certain.

>I was born in 1998: the post
Eight bucks was twice as much as it should have been
>>6347151
arent these like super fucking expensive now?
>>6356676
>>6356723
Yep, it's Medama Oyaji from GeGeGe No Kitaro, and it looks to be one of those stacking figures where you can make a little pyramid out of them. Pretty cute.
Pic unrelated. It's a Chuck D. Head model from the MD/Genesis game "Decapattack" which was never released as far as I know. Pretty unfortunate too, it's a nice figure. Looks like a more cartoony McFarlane figure.
>>6357880
I'm stupid, forgot it was a custom figure and had it in the wrong folder so disregard that.
Maybe not as weird as some but I've always thought the Ben 10 HyperAlien line was pretty out there. Especially the Highbreed design, is pretty abstract and cool. Wish I would have bought one when I had the chance, I'm a sucker for faceless creatures.
>>6357887
Along the same lines is the standard DNAlien figure. Never watched all of Alien Force since most of the design choices put me off but this alien is definitely a standout to me. It's simple, strange, and to me evokes a 50's B movie creature in the best ways. Probably wouldn't look too out of place on a scifi/horror/fantasy monster shelf.
>>6357887
Yeah, I'm not even into Ben 10 but the HyperAlien line was awesome. Really nice sculpts, and they made a good choice with the black wash. It brought out all the details and gave them a realistic, gritty look that was completely unexpected for the series.

I actually own all of these

Ben 10 is a pretty cool series, if not just for the lore. Haven't watched the original series in a long time but the designs were top notch. Some of the concept art for the aliens is absolutely bananas too. I'm not sure if I have it on this drive but the designs were borderlien cosmic horror and truly alien. Would have been cool to see a series where a kid gets a watch that turns him into true alien horrors he tries to use as heroes. I like what we got though.
If you ever want to give Ben 10 a go, I'd recommend the original series and Omniverse. OV is like a huge love letter to the series as a whole (and a lot of random vintage toys/media thanks to DJW) but the style puts a lot of people off. I have megas for the original series around if you ever feel interested.
>>6357887
That's badass. Definitely doesn't look like something out of a kid's show; I'm digging the level of detail.
>>6357916
Fucking hated that show. Originally hated it for replacing Teen Titans but after Teen Titans Go I don't know anymore.
Also because it and Avatar stole the superior Danny Phantom's popularity.
