I'm a bit sad they are going with CLASSICS as I feel like a good number of companies have done classic video game characters already. Granted if they keep picking lesser known characters it can be an interesting series.
But I wish we see more modern game action figures besides MH only revos, giant overpriced PAKs, and just as overpriced figma. Figma is doing okay for video game characters but something like Phoenix Wright being 7k yen is a bad move.

Don't know much about revos, I'm more on board now that they have the Marvel license. Got Spider-Man, and I'm on the fence about Wolverine since I'm not a fan of the Astonishing costume.
Do revos ever get re-released with alternate color schemes? Like a black costume spidey or a classic wolverine?

You know, this is an instance of nostalgia pandering I can get behind. Comics and Veideo Games in the "classic" forms have always been cartoony and exaggerated. Wise themes for Kaiyodo, I'd say. I just have to wonder what IPs they'll take.

Mega Man and Street Fighter is done to death at this point. Super Mario's been sorted through, but with Bandai's mostly subpar releases and weird decision I think it deserves a second go. Would be nice if they could get older Zelda games Max Factory won't touch.

Beat'em up characters, Captain Falcon, Little Mac, and Samus are built for Revoltech. I wouldn't mind if Revoltech is the line to finally give us modern Donkey Kong and Darkstalkers figures either.

Also have to wonder if they'll ever get a hold of Western IPs. The Zootopia sculptor could do things like Crash and Spyro. Crash would be especially lovely as a Revo. Star Fox characters would be up his alley, too.

Revo's do get rereleased, but to my knowledge the Yamaguchi stuff (Spidey, Wolverine, etc) doesn't typically get recolors. The Takeya line does have a few, but he does skeletons and buddhist gods and such.

Granted, I'd still look into getting the Wolverine, since Revo's are sculpted in such a way that suits pretty much any action pose you'd want from the character, and then some. If the costume is that important, you'll probably have to look into repainting yourself, though.

They're not especially common with Yamaguchi Revoltechs, but there have been recolors of a few of his. Like white Raiden and Black Vash, and at least a few others.

But the thing about recoloring most of the Marvel Revos is that they have sculpting specific to the suit they're representing, and any recolor would require some resculpting, too, which may not be considered worth it to them.

Spidey, for instance, couldn't just be easily repainted into a Symbiote figure, since all the details of the red and blue suit like the webs are sculpted in. Wolverine would be easier to resculpt, but it'd still be more work than they may want to put into it.

The ratcheted Revoltech joints would solve the age old problem of the joints for thin limbs being insanely floppy.

I think this Game Classics line will be handled in-house, by UC sculptors. Like the Vulcanlogs will have Kaiyodo involvement (assuming it will keep existing) but not with this new line. Just a guess as Arthur and Beat looks like it was all UC in the first place.

Well, MH is only 4 years later than JSR. It's from that PS2/Dreamcast era. And Japan has a gigantic hardon for the series (if only the West did as well so we got all of the fucking games).

Nah...I think you're wrong on that one. The JSR community has been wanting proper toys for FOREVER, and a ton of customs have been made to try to fill that void. Plus JSR has sorta been refreshed in everyone's memory plus brought in new fans seeing as it's been released on like, every platform in recent years. I can see Beat selling well. I hope we get the rest of the crew too. And I know it's not gonna happen, but I would love to get the Future crew as well, and Professor K of course. Oh! And Onishima and a few cops would be amazing too....

Konami probably doesn't even remember signing the original deal and will likely can it in short order. Netflix will probably also do little to advertise it and will lose interest if enough people don't watch it. I'm surprised it even got made since Netflix apparently abandoned the Legend of Zelda series they were hyping. I wanted to like Hulu instead, but I have to pay extra for no ads, and while Netflix has continuous play and fast menus, Hulu is slow as a snail to navigate, I have to click to extra screens just to watch an episode and there is no auto continuous play for a series.

Then I wanted to like Amazon Prime. They have Dr Who! Oh shit, Prime is no longer $80 a year, it's $11 a month. The selection of Prime-eligible stuff is poor. I swear everything I watch has really loud music but dialog so quiet I can't hear half of it. Prime shipping isn't a real bonus since 95% of Prime eligible stuff is horribly overpriced and I can get it cheaper elsewhere.

has anyone had issues with revoltech venom's stand? I feel like its too flimsy to hold his weight at all but I see people do it anyway.

Only issue I have is the claw just isn't really big enough to get around him, so I have to get creative at times.

If your stand is a bit "floppy", just try tightening the screws on the side of the stand. My Venom Snake's stand was kind of floppy, and that fixed it right up.

Not having 4mm joints forthe wrists is a minus, but it does a lot of plus things to make up for it. Having a cool design and great sculpt of it, and the older revo joints hips setup does make him superior in some ways, to some people, than the recent releases.

Why are the side four pegholes hard as shit to plug stuff into?

meanwhile the middle one for the stand is loose as fuck and its like the peg is literally too small

Because they had nothing in them, the plastic naturally expands compared to peg holes that had a revo joint in them since assembly. It was way worse on the MuvLuvs for the jet boosters.

But that being loose, well just errors, it happens.

To add, that's exactly the reason why figma have a transparent peg stuck in their accessories meant to be placed onto a joint piece, as do the 4-inchnel Mega Mans' arms and hands. They are more newcomer friendly where as Kaiyodo being older company, run by a hardcore model builder thinking all collector should know the basics believes in not holding your hands all the time. Why else proudly make single color vinyl kits today?

Just a guess but they as a company probably do have some assumptions of their users that they don't bother making changes that could be easily dealt with on our side.

I think the stand was an example of that, why bother making a new one when collectors likely have access to better ones. So it took all this time to include a standard stand when they could have at anytime. Maybe it was increased foreign interest in their figures, or there were more newcomers who bitched about everything online they had to go "fine here's your stupid stand just like all the others"

Just for the sake of discussion, does anyone understand how come Venom had impeccable knee sculpt, while Spiderman had that ugly cut joint knee sculpt? It's not that hard to hide the cut joint on spiderman, but there is a couple of poses including MvC idle pose whenever you don't have the legs fully straight/fully bend where it is super awkward
