Huge drifloon arrived! It's made with Mocchiri fabric and marshmallow fluff stuffing so it's astonishingly soft.

Pokemon PoP! Plush straps. The backside is a very soft material to clean a device screen with. If you've ever held a TsumTsum, it's exactly the same as on their belly. They have a string loop to attach and a plastic spring so you can pull the plushie around to wipe the screen.

Size comparison! The smaller espeon and umbreon are the ones sold at US Pokemon Center last year. The larger ones are what's currently available in the Johto Pokemon plush set. The new ones have slightly thicker legs and stand on their own much better.

The Gengar in the back took forever to find! I don't know why he was so elusive! He's from the I Love Gengar set that just came out. His face just cracks me up.

This is one of my favorite Gengars. He's a MokoMoko. This line is all made of the super, super fluffy fabric and is very soft. (Not to be confused with Mocchi Mocchi, though!)

Amazon US actually sells the majority of them! So they're available for about 20$ if you go for the ones sold by Amazon proper. The have Pikach, Kanto starters, Mew, Gengar, and Eevee. There's also a Dedenne, but for some reason haven't seen him on Amazon US.

Yea, they're really different when it comes to the small details. Something I really like about the sanei one is the tails and the head fluff are made from a different material than the body. It's more fuzzy and fluffy than smooth like the body is.

This new Sanei line, a lot of the plushies are very heavily weighted by beans in their bottoms, but this Vulpix doesn't have that as severely as some of the others. Mimikyu (at least mine) by contrast is very heavy with a bean butt and overstuffed. Vulpix is more soft, like they have been in the past.

There's Mocchi Mocchi Gengar, if you can find one. I think he's the only one right now that's more of a huggable size, unless Build a Bear makes one. All the other big ones I know of are like pillow pals from 2001.

I work at a Build a Bear and I'm really excited for this.
I know we have plenty of quadruped bears already like MLP and HttyD but I'm still worried that Bulbasaur might never happen to round out the original Kanto family. He'd just be too hard to stuff and dress, especially with like half his body size being that big bulb.

The huge Piplup and Pikachu kuttaris have been the only ones in awhile. I suspected they did the kuttari line because of the TsumTsum craze and now are letting the Banpresto Kororin plushies fill that niche. They're smaller and more round and plump like Tsums. I like the Kuttaris though. Old school beanie baby realness.

And I know what you mean about Mr. Stay Puft! He and my ghostbusters bear have the marshmallow scent and I couldn't imagine it any other way. If the pizza scent wasn't so... odd I might pop a seam on Slimer, stuff it in and stitch him back up.

It's so amazingly soft. The body is squishy and stretchy, he's stuffed with the super soft marshmallow fluff, and the little poof on his head is like touching a cloud. I'm only worried about his little noodle arms where they attach to the "hands". They seem to be just glued into an opening in the fabric and I've had other plushies with this method have the string pop out. If it happened, wouldn't be hard to fix, but I'm still very careful with his arms.

I ordered mine from Amazon Japan. I waffled for a few days because shipping was like 53$ but now that he's here, I'm saving up to get Oddish and Togedemaru, too. (I ordered Rowlet through eBay because shipping was so much less, but it'll be like 3 more weeks till he arrives.)

I only got the Red and Green Nendos because of nostalgia, and because the characters were chibi in the actual game. If I had to get a Lillie it would be a 6in figure scale to fit her game appearance.

So I finally got my primarina from plazajapan. I preordered to get her shortly after release but luck have it my package got lost. This is the first time it ever happened to me and it sucked donkey balls. I messaged them, they tell me to wait a few more days and it still doesn't show. They offer me a full refund and I just ask if I can get a new plushie and pay for better shipping. They drop it off the 28th and she's here today.

You could try learning by searching for easy or beginner's patterns for amigurumi (it's a japanese term for crochet or knit plush animals, it's a popular style usually made in the round in continuous spirals). Yea, that 300$ before shipping sucks, but I put away 400$ for one as soon as I saw they'd be about 200$ retail. I guess I don't mind the markup because someone still has to go down to the store and back, to the post office and back, that's time and travel expenses.

Most sellers on eBay there's a decent markup. I order from Amazon Japan all the time and while their markup is extremely small, the shipping is ludicrous. Something as big as these plushies is going to easily be 200$ just in shipping with them.

I'm hoping the American PokeCenter gets these guys in next year, but I'm not holding my breath. If we get that giant size Lapras, it'll give me hope. After all, we did get the huge ditto.

Because I'm a masochist, I bought the bootleg SHF Charizard.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised; it's fun as heck and the only glaring issue mine has is that it has a misaligned jaw.

Because the thing comes in a goddamn 100% identical box to the real one, for future reference:

The bootleg has duller, more burnt hues of orange paint and yellow paint highlights on the knees and wings. The mouth and tongue are also completely different colors than the legit version; burgundy and light bubblegum pink on the bootleg vs.saturated dark red and vivid dark pink on the official release.

The wing joints seem to have been modified, and steel pin joints are visible on the bootleg.

The bootleg is also made of a completely different from the official release, which feels like a very dense rubber. Each of the cups between the tail segments are now flexible soft rubber.

i just realized that with USUM coming out in November, that means the Pokémon Center plush releases will stay focused on Alola mons until at least mid-2018, which is nice. Been wondering that too. I think a lot of people are feeling a bit let down by him? He doesn't come with a lot of accessories, especially compared to how many came with the original nendo. I'll be getting him, in the hopes of encouraging more in the future. I think he'll look really cool next to all my D-Arts. I'd love a Gold with the Johto starters, that would be the start of a nice set…
