Slizers sort of paved the way for Bionicle for me in terms of the ball/socket joint build appeal.

Mata Nui era Bionicle easily had the best lore; holy fuck the MNOLG is still one of the most fun games I've played.

Hero Factory's had some of the best builds.

The rest of Bionicle had some of the most interesting pieces for MOCs, but that's about all the good I can really say about it.
