I liked it, i have some minor gripes but overall i guess it felt comfortable for both people who liked the original and Prometheus, it stands somewhat in the middle of the two, it has much of the evolutionary fuckery of Prometheus, but also has stuff luking in the dark trying to rape the characters, had a lot of fun with the first Neomorph popping out in the screen, also liked Fassbender's acting and the protagonist... now that i think about it there's much less rapey stuff than i think it's appropriated for Alien, but yeah, overall i liked it, the monsters are pretty cool.

Really loved the creatures and the first 1/3 of the film, but I really dislike how it devolved into slasher-tier crap to the point that it actually felt dumber than Prometheus at times.

Beyond that, it's a shame that the Xenomorph itself lacked any standout moments to outwardly differentiate it from the Neomorphs, besides an obvious difference in appearances of course.

Added some much needed paint on the ShinGozilla's tail to make it look more like bone and also went in and dry brushed some matte charcoal grey on it to make the glossy red pop. I think I like it more now.

It's less subtle than Aliens but definitely much better than AVPR.

I thought the Neomorphs were actually great (arguably had the best moments too). That said, I wish they didn't show off the actual Xenos as clearly as they did, because it removed a lot of the tension compared to the scenes with the Neomorphs.

It's better than Prometheus but that's an easy thing to do for me, since Prometheus is one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen. However, some of the main characters' moments really made me cringe with how hard it wants to be a commentary on atheists vs religious zealots. There's actually a lot of full-on gore compared to the older films but it feels strangely lacking xenomorph-wise and its focus seems more suitable for Blade Runner than Alien. If it means more Alien toys including re-attempts at the OG xenomorph, I'd be happy though.

First up Shin Godzilla!

I love this guy, the figure is a big hefty chunk of plastic. Joints were all solid, nothing loose at all. Nothing stuck either, everything just moved nice and smooth. If you liked the movie, you ought to like this figure. I wish he was taller than the other Godzillas, but that's a minor complaint. Range on the joints is good, but obviously limited. The arms have more movement to them than I expected...he doesn't use them at all in the film though, so that's cool I guess.

The Konami Arcade xeno makes me all sorts of happy. I loved this game as a kid.

It's your basic xeno otherwise. The adjusted articulation is mostly new knees (more like the AvP style) and mid-finger hinge. They also removed the upper bicep swivel. Which admittedly was pretty superfluous, so no loss there.

3D Terminator is the Ultimate T-800 with ungloved hands and the black shirt from the start of the movie. So you know what you're getting. I like having scene specific figures, so this and the Ult. T-800 shall cover that spectrum with the new legs.

Again, really happy with him. All the articulation works smoothly, nothing stuck, nothing loose. Head swap easiler, blah, blah. Love him.

My understanding is that yes, this is the new xeno body we'll be seeing released in the next year or so for one of the new waves.

As far as a favorite? I kind of love how well I can pose the Jungle Hunter, even though I technically already had it with that Ghost Pred. But the colors on the xeno and Shin make me dig those. Might be Shin just cause it's a new figure entirely.

So my friend's getting a couple NECA Godzillas and to get in on that combined shipping goodness, I'm thinking of getting a Xenomorph.

Which Xeno would you guys recommend? This is my first Xenomorph. I'm leaning toward the Red Aliens 2-Pack with the Big Chap/Dog Alien repaints. But I dunno if either of these are the "best".

The Queen's probably out of my price range.

Big Chap and the Aliens Warrior are pretty unsatisfying and outdated compared to the newer ones. The Dog is great, and the AVP Warrior is the best Xeno they've made yet. The Aliens Warrior has been updated with the new pink game figure, so a movie version is probably on the way. If you want a classic Big Chap, hold off until probably next year when they redo that too.

It's got some heft to it. And it has little rubber footpads so it won't fall over. The nubs on the side are rubbery/resin feeling and have slight give in them but don't test them. Figures stand up to the top of the black relief. Wish my camera wasn't shit, it's got nice designs.

The dome itself is lopsided? How is that even possible? Is it fit into the head all the way around or is the head itself warped? I'd say try heating it with a hair dryer but where that piece of plastic is so thin I dunno if that would only make it worse.If it's the entire head then maybe it could work but I'd be careful and I'd be ready to soak it in cold water the instant you've got it flexible enough to hold into shape.

So it's sitting too far into the skull on one side that it leaves an air gap on the other like a container's lid that's not closed all the way? You could try heat and press it down on the other side until it feels like it could fit into its grooves and then hit that fucker with crazy glue and hold it until it sets, or you could try prying it off and reseating it yourself. Either way it sounds like it might be trouble.

Not NECA, but BBTS emailed me about these a few days ago. Extreme sets pop up diorama or something like that. Oh the monsters are the bomb but I hate how they were introduced. For as lucrative as AVP has been over the years as a license you'd think Ridley Scott would have gone a different route to try and mostly preserve the connection. I'm part of the NECAxAlien Club so my toys are already preordered anyway.

A lot of Big Chaps have slightly lopsided domes. I'm assuming the mould had multiple domes tooled in because I have like 7, including the reissue and the AvP packs, and about half of them have the dome slightly deformed and pulled up on one side so it doesn't fit snug. It's not super obvious but can be annoying.

I'm an 80's fag but agree. Between Playmates, Figuarts, and Neca, I hope this is the end of the 80's Turtles. Even as a kid I dropped the OT Turtles as soon as I saw the movie, and I just fucking want those Neca figures in 1:12. Props to Neca though for being the only ones to actually get the OT Turtles right, and for doing Foot Soldiers/Shredder along with them.

The only thing I have with the Clan Leader that might be a criticism or a problem with it is that its kinda hard to get his mask to stay on and the arm/chest tentacles take a bit of fiddling to get plugged in just right so they stay. other than that I love the thing and its probably my #3 favorite Predator figure.
