It's a 3P Arcee by Iron Factory. It's smaller than Legends sized. So it doesn't scale with anything really.

>>

>here hasn't been a good TF show since Animated.

I dunno about that. Prime was pretty good.

>>6327000

I'm guessing whenever they pull a new cartoon out of their ass they'll probably end RiD. Unless they want to run 2 cartoons. I mean, they can totally do that.
>>

It's like you want the thread to be shit
>>
>>6327002
>I dunno about that. Prime was pretty good.
It was okay, but Animated was great. Almost as good as Beast Wars, in my opinion. I watched them all a few summers ago, and that was my take.
>>
So is TW Wave 4 going to be officially a "lost" wave in terms of the fact that it got shit distribution and Hasbro has already moved onto TW Wave 5/TF5 Movie wave?

I never saw the wave at retail and local Wal-Mart is already starting putting out Movie shit. So is this going to be a lost wave and if so, any chance in hell Hasbro will find some fucking way to make it up to people via getting the figures out to people in a box set or some shit?
>>
>>6327014
I dunno. I can't find any Transformers wave beyond the second with any kind of reliability any more, so it doesn't really matter to me.

Like, seriously. I checked my local retail today and all I found was Blurr and Chomedome.
>>
>>6327017
Same here.

>>6327014
I can't even find them online. I see a Seaspray on Amazon, but that's all. The fact that people keep using some kind of weird CGI image for their product images makes me hella wary though.
>>
>>6327014

You're probably better off just shopping online. Trying to find anything at retail is a losing proposition more often than not.

>>6327018

Seaspray is wave 5 isn't it? 4 was Brawn and Chase.
>>
>>6327020
Oh? Then no, I haven't seen them out either. I don't even see them on the Hasbro site.
>>
>>6327025

Hasbro's site never gets anything in one time. Well, almost never. The one time I ever remember them having anything was when they got Legends Shockwave like, a month before anyone else.
>>
Got a request, does anyone have MP Wheeljack and TR Perceptor? Thinking of picking up Perceptor and was wondering how he would scale with Wheeljack or Sideswipe, or whichever repaint of sideswipe.
>>
>>6327014
Any box set "make up" is going to be at least 3-5 years down the line.

The only time they managed to pull what you suggested, was the recent movie box set. Which contained the super hard to find Deluxe Arcee and Ultra Magnus Leader figures within a year of their blink and miss retail release.
>>
>>6327008
If only Animated had a decent art style I might have watched the whole thing.
>>
>>6327038
You should give it another try and stop letting a subjective art style get in the way of a fun show with well written characters.
>>
>>6327014
We only know if a wave will be hard to find if shit from the following wave starts showing up before most products from the current wave do. So far, the Legends, Titanmasters, Broadside, and Leader have made appearances, but the deluxes are the real concern since not many stores have gotten them. And you can find them online, so it's not that big of a loss if stores don't get them.

>>
>>6326994
Where the fuck would it pick up though, and would there even be a toyline?
>>
Does anyone else feel like RiD had a lot of wasted potential in terms of toys? It took me the longest time to get over those ugly fuck stickers, but once I did I found myself really enjoying those deluxes, Soundwave, Bisk, Blurr, Jazz, Drift(origins version), Grimlock, Scorponok, Fracture and Quillfire are really damn fun toys and some of them offer really good transformations. I wanted to like Ratchet but his arms are kinda trash.
I'm assuming the wave with Bludgeon will be the last round of deluxes we will see from the line and I really hope it's not cancelled. But they missed out on so many good characters.
>no Voyager Megatronus, Optimus, Underbite, Overload and Chop Shop
>no deluxes for Saberhorn, Clampdown, Hammerstrike and Glowstrike
>no eventual Shockwave then eventually a RiD figure
They have so many good Decepticon designs with potential. It kills me.

The one from the minicon 2-packs has the best proportions but the warrior has the better face sculpt. There isn't much choice, really, she only has 1 mold for each size-class. 3Ps haven't done anything aside from WeiJiang's voyager upscale of the Warrior class.

I spent all night with these 3 and I have learnt something.

What we lose FROM old toys we gain MORE with newer ones.

But a good "toy" never fails, I also now enjoy kibble that can be used as something else in the right spot.

Now I ask, what possibly could the next mp prime give us other than more articulation, less diecast and (somehow) even less kibble?
>>
>>6326984
Well it scales with like legends scale Optimus and stuff. It's odd how they do it, there's technically I guess a difference between legends "scale" like little Optimus and legends "size class" like that Swerve which actually scales with like deluxe figures.

Had a look ay my hasbro versions...

I don't there are any real winners unless you want a proper target master trigger happy, the rest while decent repaints are minimal at best, ramhorn into clouder/double dealer seems to be on purpose, hasbro wanted a ramhorn while using an aborted headmaster jr design that would of turned into a rhino just to appease the takara designers, but really all along takara had full control and instead ramhorn to be clouder from the start.

Which is sad, as that means doubledealer doesn't get a body, only his lesser american cousin gets a dinky retool into a rhino.

Well its one less lot to pre-order for me then
>>
I just noticed a pattern, apart from soundwave and blaster they seem to be only using one of each mold, they haven't touched the red or blue goons from soundwave, nor the pre-tool of ravage yet or even buzzsaw.

Theories?

>>6327314
While he's painted better unless you have a brawn already is it really worth it?

The head received very little in differences other than the back of the arms painted to fill out the head and blue eyes, body is negligible.

This is true. Power of the Primes will be used to wrap up the post 86 Movie toys and then Generations will move onto a complete reboot of 84-85 era G1.

It's not exactly a closely guarded secret that Generations outperforms RID15 in the toy aisles. It's the combination of adults and kids pumping up the lines sales.

The reason the Movie line is so expensive, especially when they are half redecos of older toys is because the movie line sells no matter what. They can budget their money for Generations now and let the movie stuff coast.

If anyone here has the G2 CW Shockwave, can you tell me how tight his knee joints are?

I was trying to figure out why the hell my LG Shockwave's knees were so floppy and I think it's because it's a pinned joint on clear plastic, and the metal pin just loosened the clear plastic like nothing. As far as I can tell the G2 version uses all opaque plastic so I imagine it would be a tighter joint.

I'll be honest, I enjoyed RiD15's original premise in being Autobot/Decepticon cops and robbers rather than a giant war, because not only was it entertaining to start with but it gave more time for Steeljaw and the Cons to show as characters instead of just 'the bad guys'. Also seeing more fembots like Strongarm and Windblade that aren't cliche girly girl robots, like Arcee was a strong character of her own in Prime.

But then it started getting all meta and into a deeper attempt at plot than was needed and ruined what it had going.

Retarded shit like Combiner Wars, though, did nothing but detract from play value by crippling toys because they had to turn into an arm and a leg, and you couldn't even get any use out of it unless you bought a whole set.

Although not to the same extent, a some of the 07movie Decepticons followed this philosophy. Brawl has an excessive amount of guns attached to him. Bonecrusher's giant claw isn't actually a real world thing, they saw a forshortened image of a the claw on the real-world counterpart, where it was heavy in the foreground and looking much larger than it actually was, and mistook it for the vehicle actually having a giant claw. Eh. I wasn't a fan because the gimmick compromised the individual toys for the sake of the combiners, and really most of them kind of sucked in the end anyway. They were less than the sum of their parts, more often than not.

Meanwhile, Headmasters increase the play value of the toy by themselves, and gain more functionality the more toys you have. It's a much better gimmick from a objective standpoint.

I don't know what you mean by Mainline. But out of all the toys I have, even the ones in the hundreds of dollars, If there was a fire I'd save RTS Lugnut.
I wanted him forever and got him from a chance walk in to a Ross.

Everything in his robot mode seems to be in service to the character's personality, big, brutal and brilliantly blocky. The hands and arms to wings made him (at least as far as I know) unique in any planesformers and he just look great no matter what you do with him. He transforms great with a little surprise in the legs, but nothing that makes him a chore, and the vehicle mode just sits perfect anywhere and screams out as a perfect Lugnut.

sometimes it's hard to like a toy if you don't have an attachment to the character.

Part of way RTS lugnut is so good is because he basically fixes everything that was wrong about his old toy, while also giving you a bot that would fit in with damn near any main generations transformer out there.

Man, I really enjoyed Combiner Wars
I stopped collecting shortly after Beast Wars, found nothing in G2, Energon & Armada was doing it for me
Even when Generation started up, I was still like "meh"
Then one time I saw CW Hot Spot in a store, and thought "this guy is actually pretty sweet"
And BAM, now I've got six combiners, Fort Max and a slew of TR figs, this current line I am digging it
It is true that TR has the advantage of not needing whole teams to get the full playability, where you can pick & choose the figs you like (though same argument could technically be made for CW, if you rig your own figs to combine)
I also initially thought the little titanmaster dudes would be stupid, but I am warming up to them - though I absolutely do agree that they need some more paint
All four of the Wave 1 deluxes' little head dudes had some effort in paint on their faces, from wave 2 onwards it's like they can't be assed to try now?
>>
>>6328064
Personal anecdote, I was born in the early 90s for perspective, but I completely agree on the cyberverse coming back or at least adopting its aesthetics but without the color pallettes. Grew up on Beast Wars and a shit ton ot hand me down G1/2 toys, but nothing is as memorable to me then the Universe toyline some of energon and all of Cybertron. The plastic molds were chuncky but articulate, the proccess was easy enough without the manuals but didn't be so easy that you felt like a retard(I was like 11 when Cybertron started) and it felt pretty show accurate as well. But yeah cybertron needs a succesor in aesthetics and toy quality that stuff was the shit. Even the 10$ tier was gold, you had stuff like the bulldozer or the snowcat, hotshot with that dark blue etc. Not to mention the god tier Optimus+Wing Saber combiner later on, thats peak transformers.

Not him but I got to question some of your thoughts

>So you have a vehicle that can drive around vs...a vehicle that can drive around.
Personal preference for some, I like my sentient machines but its nifty I can stick other guys around on it
>Nobody actually does this. You just follow Hasbro's instructions because none of you have ever had an independent thought.
A few do, customized who paint up new characters (like the faux bat convoy people, with a good hand those would of been cheaper than the legends ex and the satisfaction you turned a kids toy into a....better kids toy, ok this ain't so great for transforming but hay its a valid reason), that and some people reckon some heads work better on some bodies than others
>Oops, I asked what made the figure itself more playable, not what separately-purchased accessories make it more playable.
You win on a technicality, no question
>Go buy some army men if that's your thing. This is TransFormers.
Headmasters have always been a part of transformers, this is just the next step, from head only inclusions to individual little dudes...oh wait we had the headmaster jr's who didn't have bodies in the jp circle.

>And what about when you lose or break the head? Where does the playability go then, retard?

Calling him a retard is unessercary but you'd have to be a retard to lose the head in a filthy man child pile, what sick monster throws a transformer, in robot mode, with head engages into a box, what did little billy lose the head, that's the schtick for parents to buy the tm's to shut up the kids, they can use their imagination (which is half the point with the whole "power up" crap hasbro spew).

And breaking the head would also count, a good adult collector would do one of 2 things

>leave transformers in vehicle mode, with head inside enclosed cockpit, in storage option of choice, be it big storage bin or original packaging
>stick to higher quality adult collectables, be it mp's, 3p's, or something better
>>
>>6328583
I don't start these fights. If people are going to go full autist over somebody somewhere having the gall to dislike a gimmick, they deserve to be called names.

Anyway, "always been part of TFs" is also technically wrong. The HM gimmick is series 4. The pilots in Diaclone didn't form a body part.

It's the body part that's the problem. TMs are an equally dumb gimmick but they don't detract from the figure like HMs do. PMs are a middle ground because of the locking mechanism. Minicons fixed that by only unlocking gimmicks.

>>
>>6328692
I'm confused. Isn't every new TF show essentially a "G1 reboot"?
>>
>>6328707
Not really as a lot of them aim to do something different with the story - e.g. Armada was about the Mini-Cons; Animated was set in 2050 and had Optimus and his buddies as inexperienced rookies; Prime focused more on the mythos of the Thirteen.

A G1 reboot I guess would just be straight-up Cybertronians are robots made by tentacle borgs, some crash to earth, Autobots vs Decepticons.

I saw a fucking unicorn today: Canada post make an honest to god delivery attempt at my home today (instead of just leaving a post office pickup notice in the mailbox as usual). They actually rang my doorbell and not only fucking that, they actually waited a fucking human amount of time for me to get to the door because running off at the speed of fucking light.

So yeah I got MP Smokescreen today, my first datsunformer and probably not my last considering how stylish he is. Great articulation too, the legs are full of joints and easy to get creative with and the arms are mobile as hell.

Though I'm wondering, does the front windshield tab in anywhere in robot mode? I kid of hangs freely on its hinge on his back, and it can't reach the only tabs that it would make sense to tab into on his back.
>>

>>
>>6328842
>they won't let me pick it up because the slip says "tomorrow after 13:00"

Depending on how long your mail guy takes to fill up the mailboxes and get back to the post office with your shit, they probably have it ready for pickup on the same day despite what the note says. They always just tick the "tomorrow after 13:00" box as a backup plan in case they don't actually have it ready.

If you ever have a delivery notice for tomorow at 1 and an excuse to drive past your post office around 4:30 you might as well check.

Hot on the heels of The Bumblebee Movie logo trademark, Hasbro has applied for another brand new Transformers related Trademark at the United States Patent And Trademark Office.

Whatā€™s interesting is the fact that the trademark description is very descriptive unlike previous Transformers trademarks.

Cybertronics
Trademark ID: 87443682
Trademark Date: 05/15/2017
Owner: Hasbro Inc.
Trademark Description: Toy robots; buildable toy robots; toy action figures, toy vehicles and toy robots convertible into other visual forms
The trademark is obviously a wordplay of the names Cyber + Electronics or Cyberton + Electronics.

We currently do not know for what purpose this new trademark will be used but there may very well be electronics involved along with a construct-able functionality similar to what Lego has to offer with their Technics line.

I'm not super keen on the face and I wish he had the Takara arm tooling, but the colors look so nice in person and that transformation is fantastic. I hope we see some redecos or retools. If they made some kind of weapon that could give it a van roof and then plug into the bot mode back I'd buy it as Ratchet and Ironhide.

Empire Magazine has an exclusive still from Transformers: The Last Knight featuring Bumblebee and an interview with the writers from Transformers Cinematic Universe Writersā€™ Room.

The image shows Bumblebee destroying an un-manned robot to save Izabella from being hunted down. This is a hi-def version of a scene from a very early trailer.

The last film in the franchise was, Age Of Extinction, was ā€œkind of an outlier,ā€ Bay explains in the new Empire. ā€œBecause of losing Shia and just figuring out where we were gonna go. It was testing the waters a little bit. This gets us back in the grooveā€.

Bayā€™s writers, meanwhile, tell us how they quickly realised that pretty much anything they asked for, theyā€™d get. They had written an English castle-dweller called Sir Edmund Burton, who holds secrets of Transformers lore. ā€œWe said, ā€˜Heā€™s an Anthony Hopkins-type character,ā€™ā€ says co-writer Ken Nolan. ā€œAnd two days later Michaelā€™s like, ā€˜So, weā€™ve got Anthony Hopkins.ā€™ā€ Another new character is Cogman, a psychotic robot butler (ā€œHe constantly wants to kill people,ā€ says co-writer Art Marcum) who has been excitedly described by Spielberg as ā€œthe greatest four-and-a-half-foot character since Yodaā€. Co-writer Matt Holloway, a Downton Abbey fan, one day said as an aside, ā€œIt would be so funny if Jim Carter voiced this character.ā€ A short while later, Bay announced, ā€œJim Carter ā€” we got him.ā€ ā€œItā€™s good to be Bay,ā€ says Nolan. ā€œEverybody says yes.ā€

The above is just a portion of the interview. The full interview will be featured on this Thursdayā€™s copy of Empire Magazine.

I do love me a chopperformer.

Do you have a favorite Chopperformer?
Right now it's between Tomahawk, TR Highbrow and Springer. Springer is easily the best figure of the three, but his heli mode is probably his weakest mode. TR Highbrow is pretty nice. But lets face it his transformation is rather uninspired, even if the look fits his design perfectly. Tomahawk's got a nice chopper mode, and I like his robot mode the most but his also so tiny compared to the other two.

I really like him and was well worth msrp in my opinion. He's a lot of fun, very solid, and looks impressively intimidating.

You wanted the hasbro version, which also got a re-issue last december. It comes with all five cassettebots, toy-like yellow eyes aaand some fairly common reports of bad QC. [toyspoilerswhen]The scratches, paint chips and sloppy sprue cuts on my hasbro version ended up bugging me to the point of getting the Takara version to replace him.[/toyspoilerswhen]

At the very least you can always get the Takara cassettebot two packs to go with him. That'll put you down like 60$, but fuck cassettebots are too much fun to pass up. If not both, at least get red cassette man and ravage, because that'll get you the best mold variety and the cassette men and ravage as super fun little molds.
>>
>>6329394
>again
As if it ever truly ended.
>>
>>6329292
>I can't handle a painted figure without scratching
>paint is BAD
>I always ham-hand transparent plastic and break it
>transparent plastic is BAD
>The sweat and oil on my bloated fingers wears off metallized silver
>chrome is BAD
>Clip on wheels can be easily replaced when I break them with my gorilla fists
>pinned wheels are BAD
and now
>my reduced cranial capacity can't figure out a hinged knuckle joint, and my autism can't take a slightly-crooked weapon
>hinged knuckles are BAD

You faggots are the absolute fucking worst. Just go play with your geewun bricks.
>>
>>6329405
fair enough
>>
>>6329406
Nigga chill. The MP gun handles are just finicky at times and Smokescreen's crooked gun is especially obvious because of how long it is.
>>
>>6329334
I'm not going to start any shitstorms over him. A friend gave me him years ago and he's held up pretty well over that time. He's been fun and pretty easy to transform, his weapons are kinda cool, and he's pretty articulate.

Is he worth whatever he cost? I can't say, I didn't pay money for him.
>>
>>6329394
Eh. I'd rather that shitstorm than the Titans Return shitstorm.
>>
>>6329334
>shitty

11 years later and it's STILL the only good CHUG option for an Optimus toy.
>>
>>6329403
The cassette birds are kind of brickish, but the cassette guys can pose pretty nicely considering their size and Ravage has pretty much all the articulation you could possibly want aside from not being able to move the head much.

Also, go find a KO MP Ratbat off ebay. He's another fun little mold and it's pretty good quality for being like 10-15$.
>>
>>6329287
He's one of the best figures of TR, definitely the best leader. If you like his look better than Overlord get him now.
>>6329289
Definitely not.
>>
>>6329436
I don't have the TR but I wasn't really impressed with Generations Skyshadow/Thunderwing either. Although I really hope Takara announces their Overlord before I have to preorder the Hasbro version.
>>
>>6329436
>more accurate
>no shitty headmaster gimmick
>no shitty stickers

>Definitely not

Stop having shit taste.
>>
>>6329403
I never knew which was which, I just always liked the red eyes on him more.
Are there any other differences between the two besides the eyes?

If the colors match, I may just buy the Hasbro reissue with all the casettebots and try to find the head from the takara version online, and replace the head.
>>
>Hasbro can easily paint Black Series ad Marvel Legends for $20
>Still uses shitty stickers on Transformers
???
>>
>>6329523
Only other difference is that the takara cassette come with pink cases and the hasbro ones are clear. There's also a few other negligible paint differences
>>
>>6329524
>Not realizing the difference in engineering complexity and cost between a Transformer and a regular action figure
I'm not supporting stickers for a second, but goddamn this fandom is ignorant.
>>
>>6329514
Nigga, the original was a fucking Pretender. That is a much more intrusive gimmick than Headmaster.
>>
>>6329527
If they sold deluxes for $20, would they get paint?
>>
>>6329523
Nonnef sells customization parts for TFs and they have (or had, might have run out of stock again) replacement eye parts for shockwave that come in either red or yellow. It's cheaper than trying to find a loose head.
>>
>>6329532
Depends how jewish Hasbro wants to be. They probably realize that their collectors would pay that 20 bucks and not care about the decrease in quality/detail, so why should they cut their profits to put it?

But their still wouldn't be a comparable amount of paint to a non-transforming toy at the same price point.
>>
>>6329536
>Shockwave

Soundwave, I mean. I can't believe I make this many posts without fucking that up yet.
>>
>>6329433
This what you're talking about?

>>
>>6329547
Yeah. He's only been officially released alongside MP Soundblaster. He's a fun guy but definitely not worth buying an entire Soundblaster over.
>>
>>6329527
When you get really technical, even the shittiest TFs can be, by a large margin, the most "articulated" and complex toys retailed at kids. But at the end of the day nobody considers anything except how well the car and the robot looks. If something's got a shit paint job they aren't going to go "well I understand that a large portion of the budget this figure has been given has to go towards the extremely high amount of moving parts, the complex assembly required and the paychecks of literal structural engineers and as such having an extensive paint job would have made it too expensive for the rigid price points forced by american retailers, and so I'm okay with this" they're going to say it's got a shit paint job.

Official maybe, but as long as voyager MP10 is a thing you have no business wanting a chug optimus and not just getting that.
>>
>>6329532
It's basically TakaTomy paint at TakaTomy prices. Takara's stuff always get slapped with paint (good or bad) because they are making up for the MSRP difference. Hasbro has to cater the lowest priced retailer, aka Walmart while Takatomy only has to work around their own manufacturer pricing.

And it's not only TakaTomy, all those Hasbro Asia Platinum exclusives you see are made without consideration of american pricing.
>>
>>6329831
So basically fuck walmart.
>>
>>6329846
I just wish stores would just get shit at a consistent rate. Fucking RID gets the second wave of the year widely distributed pretty quickly across all stores, but TR wave 4 has taken forever to show up in my area.
