Anyone here collect these?

I'm not sure if I ever would, but I'm really impressed by how many variations of characters there are.

I feel like this thread is popping up more and more lately.

I like them, I mainly collect Spider-Man ones because he's my favorite comic book character, and most of the costume variations we get will never get other types of figures. But I'm considering expanding to other stuff as a main focus, now that I own every Spider-Man...

But yeah, I like how much different stuff they have licenses for. Even if it's not all stuff I collect, since my main focus is Marvel. I wish they'd do more Ghostbusters stuff, but with the female GB mates selling bad I doubt we'll get anything else.
>>
This thread definitely is popping up more.

I passively collect them. I don't pick up every set in every wave. It's fun to get a huge variety of characters you like, though. Makes for a nice superhero display. One of the earliest toys I ended up getting 'into'.

Only issues I have is when they try to go too detailed for their style and you end up gross looking faces or tons of additions that hinder the already limited articulation. Doesn't happen every time, but it does happen.

Other than that, they're nice.

I have a good amount of them. Mostly X-men. I don't watch the line though but occasional when I see a character I like I grab it
>>
>>6323853
I collected them for a short time around when they were coming in part of C3 construction sets. Loved the design of the figures and as you note the amount of variants is staggering. But the QC was just all over the place. Loose joints, broken joints, inconsistent decos.

I gave away at least $2000 of Legends, Joes, and Marvel Universe and now only collect Minimates. I recommend them. I rarely have trouble finding a whole wave and the older ones are easy to pick up. You can have characters from many different licenses all in scale with eachother.
>>
I collect them on an off too, went apeshit for them for a while, ended up getting one of every Ghostbuster minimate that I'm aware exist and some from other franchises. I buy mostly Marvel comic ones nowadays, pick up whichever rendition of the character I like the best. I'll grab random ones that I like the look of from time to time too.

I remember seeing a few of your photos in the Mega Construx general. Any photos of your full setup?

I've tried joining the only forum but never hear back

I wish they'd continue the DC line.
>>
Got about 7 of them before I was like "nah."

I feel like everyone gets at least -one- of these, and the majority that do never find the motivation to get more. It's a neat idea with great modularity and a cheap way to amass a huge collection of figures representing comic characters, but they're just not as fun to play around with as a normal figure.

I don't know, the ability to construct whole teams that are both cheap and kind of fun to pose make it worth while

Please they are super easy to customize
>>
>>6328567
The key there is "kind of" fun to play with. I'm not the guy you're replying to, and I do have a decent number of Minimates. And while it's a decent enough time to pose your team. there are figures that are a lot more fun to use.

That is a pretty sweet custom though. How was it done?

I did a long time ago. It's not terrible, but it's pretty clicky. Not that the members are assholes or anything, but they tend to ignore new people.

That said, it is a pretty solid place for scoops and heads up for new waves.
>>
They're cute little buggers. I buy em for my mom. She likes to stick em all in a row on her control console.

I wonder why they didn't just stick with this style?
>>
>>6338365
I ask myself the same shit. It seemed like the last few waves they had a few in a similar style, but they really shit the bed big time on this line.
>>
>>6338361
Goddamn, I remember when this Deadpool came out, wave 28 I think? I was like 16 at the time and I was so fucking hype dude, I got two of them just incase one broke. I wish minimates were still this good. I just feel like they lost some of their charm, got way busier than they needed to be imo. Which is why I think the Walgreens ones are some of the best in a while, very simplistic.
>>
>>6338391
Armor for the abdomen, forearms, and shins. That's all they needed for me.

>>6338395
I like the busier ones more. I have some of the animated ones but i'm not a fan of the really simple ones.
