most jakks figures, while shit, use the 3D models to make their figures. So most are inherently more accurate to the source than plenty of figmas.

LBW link isn't bad but the assymmetry and goofed inaccurate (mildly) proportions make it subpar imo. Also the skirt is garbage, makes any forward hip movement look horrible. SS link has horrible details and a shit facesculpt. TP link is all around no where near how the character looks, in any iteration.

Also things like the elbows on ss link and the knees on lbw link look and work like shit. That'd be a minor gripe if the range wasn't also bad on both. There's also a lot of inconsistent molds like PAKs for the PVC parts. I own 3 LBW links and each one has different torso lengths, ankle lengths, and shoulder widths. Granted it's not as bad as a PAK, it's still bad.

I just find it interesting that jakks are shit on while figmas are glorified. As far as sculpts go, they're pretty close in terms of proportion, paints are nicer on figmas and so is mold and assembly, but overall accuracy has never really been the focal point (aside from the new samus which looks damn near perfect) of figmas. And obviously articulation and joint quality is where figmas are the clear winner. But even then the figmas don't excel.

I call them shit because the proportion and anatomy issues seem consistent. It's pretty obvious to me that Masaki never actually learned anatomy, but also just ignores the proportions of most art for a personal take on it. I'm probably too hard on figmas, since plenty of other companies get their shit wrong, but I still feel like a really good SHF is significantly nicer than a really goid figma. Especially in terms of articulation, engineering, plastics and proportion.

Goodsmile's been using 3D for their products as well, for at least the past few years, They even mentioned Link's chainmail and Zelda's armour were done specifically that way.

I think it's pretty clear why the figma brand is well-received while Jakks are shat on. While TP Link isn't super accurate to his in-game model or painted artwork, the figure still is pleasing to look at. The quality of the materials makes it more worthwhile than a melty-faced Jakks figure. And let's face it, the Jakks Ocarina Link isn't that accurate either, and it doesn't have the good materials to back it up.

Back to the discussion of SHFiguarts, I agree with you there. Their Mario figures are generally really accurate to the 3d game models.

Sadly, Nintendo has pretty much disowned pretty much all things 8-Bit Zelda and probably would full-on bury all things related to Zelda 1 and 2 if they could get away with it.

Since ALTTP, the Triforce is now just a generic glowing power source and Gannon a thief king mortal turned monster. And Ocarina of Time has become the default "starting point" of the franchise lore-wise, taking ALTTP's watered down version of Zelda lore and watering it down even moreso...

Legend of Zelda and Zelda 2 are basically apocrypha at best at this point. For all intents and purpose, Ocarina of Time IS the first Zelda game in terms of how Nintendo treats the lore.

The sad thing about Zelda, which still pisses me off, is how badly Nintendo handles things. They just want to keep redoing LoZ but they ignore the backstory from LoZ (like hunting for the Tri-Force bits and Ganon just being an evil demon pig from hell) in order to keep coming up with more and more convoluted garbage plots so they can recycle the whole "Kill Ganon, rescue the princess" angle.

Either way, though, it's very clear that for every Link they didn't use the ingame model as a base, as theyre all far from the ingame model. Which is fine if they werr accurate to the artwork, but they're not.

I personally think TP link looks like bad fanart, but that's a matter of preference. If you like it, more power to you. And even the Jakks OoT link, inaccurate though it may be, has the more compact proportions link actually has in most OoT art iterations, so while TP link is a nicer figure from an engineering standpoint and having a better paintjob, its tall slender more feminine guy proportions don't at all feel like link. Both of the previous figmas were inaccurate but had much more of a link feel to them, I don't know why they decided to just ignore the characters proportions and face entirely this time around.

As for the symmetry issues on lbw link, I'm talking about the arms being different lengths, legs being different lengths, shoulders being offset from the neck differently, etc. But that's also more a matter of the inconsistent mold/cast quality.

He comes with replaceable eyes but no different faces like Kirby did. But LIKE Kirby, he can swivel off into halves as though he had different faces. Kirby's faces are NOT compatible with Meta Knight (I tried).

"ball-stick" type joints, the less segmenty tail, and extra knee joints are really neat to me.

Guy popped the arm off and could not get it back on. It's not broken he's just retarded.

Lost a case cause Ebay is automated and sides in favor %100 of the time if you file "not as described".
Now I got a near new Pitt sitting in a box with it's arm popped off and i can't be assed to heat the arm with water and pop it back in.

Long story short I got a cheap one if you want son.
He was literally new when I sold it and got it back same thing just an arm off.

Mine is this figure. As a kid I was huge into LoZ even before I had gotten to play the games and my parents had gotten this figure for me. Being the dumb kid I am I lost it and as I got older no matter when or where I looked it was being sold for 200+ bucks. If GSC does a Gravity Suit with the Prime 3 figma that'd be the nail in the coffin for the figma line for me.
Being lazy enough to do a repaint of a suit that doesn't even appear in the game/on that version of the prime varia suit alone would just drive me over the edge and never buy something made by GSC again.
Now if we got one with the Prime 1 suit since it was the only prime game with it, I'd be all over it.

And I don't understand why Jakks hasn't done the Fusion suit already.

Well you see the prime 1 suit is overall much thicker in build in everything but the crotch compared to the prime 2 Varia suit's sleeker design onward. Besides that the arm canon is also thicker and has a different helmet considering after Prime 1 the series went for the visor notch and never looked back, separating it from the more standard design used since Metroid II.
The best comparison shot I have is this scale sheet from Prime 2 which is an identical design to the prime 3 suit outside of texture detail between games. Being T-Posed I'm sure doesn't help say the differences in thighs but for everything else, it should be obvious. Uh, sans the arm canons since they aren't shown but it was just sleeked down in much the same way as everything else.

Okay yes but the first suit they put out is the Prime 3 suit, which while not a one off design is still different enough from both the super and Other M designs to still stand out in that kind of display. If anything it's outright the nicheness of the suit for sure but what can you do.
Honestly I'd be surprised if we ever got another suit from Jakks ever, much less the fusion suit.

Parts of this one look better than the SS Figma, but I prefer the shoulders on the old one.

Yeah, it's a weird choice. The pecs ARE visible in one of the official artworks but then in other art it's not visible. So it's a weird choice to pick since in most the art and in-game the pecs aren't visible.

Skyward Sword Link has elbows that are more cream colored. Looks like they just fucked up. What a shame considering it'd of been the definitive Link.

Twilight Princess Ganondorf is a must have now we've got TP Link and Zelda. Perhaps Midna and Wolf Link too if we're really lucky.

One thing They'd have to make sure they get right with Ganondorf is his height. I trust they would get it spot on but Ganondorf would look like a manlett if he's not at least double the size of Link. Which would also make him likely double the price.

It's true in Twilight Princess he's twice as tall as Link, but they would probably just go with the Smash Bros proportions for a figma. It would be easier to make (And still look good)

If they made a Midna figma I would actually get some use out of the stands that all figmas come with. I don't usually pose them with the stand because it makes them look ugly but Midna floats.

But you're right. We need Ganondorft at the very least to round off the Twilight Princess Triforce.

Additionally Midna would be appreciated and if we're getting super crazy, I want Wolf Link, Epona, Zant and a Shadow Beast.
