Managed to get OG Shamrock while he was still on pre-order, incredibly glad to have just gone for it and ended up with my favorite figure. Got Mel during pre-order as well, and then caved and bought OG Clover for scary aftermarket prices. Now i'm biding my time waiting for Pinkle to ship, and highly considering pre-ordering Vania as well.

I'm incredibly happy with the Polynian line and Daibadi in general, they've really made up for the Yume mess with the recent releases.

I'd love to see some accessory packs released, similar to the Emir pack except maybe with a full new hairstyle or two and some themed accessories or body parts. It'd be great to outfit the nude Polys with some matching equipment, without having to buy a whole new figure just for partswapping.

I have OG Shamrock and Clover, Grey Shamrock, Emil, Mel, and first run of Yume. They're all pretty cute but I'm not the biggest fan of Clover. I might sell her. I'm not too sure yet.

I had OG shamrock and clover, but I ended up selling them because they were super bare and didn't really do anything for me. They were fun figures though. I still have pic related, who's not great by any stretch, but has definitely grown on me.

I really like daibadi's general style, and I'd kill for regular releases of those mythical metroid GKs. I doubt nintendo would sign off on it though what with the whole fetish thing looming in the background.

The boys. The girls are nice and all but male action figures of this kind (shota/trap/cute male) that I like are hard to come by. Megaman is an exception because his design is fucking awesome.

Emil is very nice.
The only problem I have is that his shorts can get in the way of posing sometimes.
I have heard of a few qc issues like him coming with two right fists but mine is fine.

Emil's been pretty good so far for me. No real QC issues other than some paint ones (ie: dab of paint here or there where there shouldn't be, the sort of thing you'd find on ANY toy line ever), and the two brown ribbon thingys in his hat being a bit loose in the ports. I need to toss another bit of future shine in there to tighten it up more, I guess.

Pretty cheap really, only $35 and some change. Finally caved and ordered him after all this time so that leaves me with first edition Yume, Mel, Emil and later this month Pinkle.

As for the unreleased ones I plan to get myself 2 female option packs, 1-2 Vania's, Lucio (to go with Mel), Rosa, Tector, the THICC Poly and the PJ clothes set. Still mulling over Aigis too, I'll nab her someday.

Today I found a really good deal on both greys.
Not super excited to get them since they are so limited in what they can do but I need them for the collection and it will be nice to get a Shamrock even if it is the inferior version.

The Emil conversion kit was in direct response to the feedback Daibadi got from people who said they were only interested in girl figures. Then they added them in for Lucio from the get-go in hopes of avoiding those problems entirely.

Actually, the hairs aren't interchangable. Shamrock and Emil's plugs for the hair in the back of their heads are different, for example. You can exchange the faceplates, but in my case Emil's are SUPER tight to the point I think it might damage Shammy's head connector plug since it's only glued in and I have seen them come out before and they're a real bitch to get out of a face plate if they get "broken" off inside of a face plate.

Plus if you do this with greys you end up with mismatched "ear" colors.

I'm the guy directly above you and I was an AmiAmi faithful until just this year. I have over 100+ orders from them and was happy with them until they just lost their advantage and also cost me some money with their inflexibility. The reason I abandoned AmiAmi was:
1. They refused to combine an order for me when something got delayed and I wanted to fill the spot with something in stock. I wasn't asking for a deadline extension and my payment due date was 6 days off. Their inflexibility on this blew my mind because I wanted to give them more money but they wouldn't let me.
2. They started to randomly raise prices on DAY ONE pre-orders of popular stuff. They also started raising prices on pre-orders earlier and earlier in the cycle which meant I could no longer add things closer to release date like I had been doing for years.
3. No cancellations in conjunction with price shenanigans felt like I was being pressured into buying things I might not want. Became less "fun" to order new stuff and more stressful.
4. A few recent orders were packed less than ideal but it was probably a fluke. They also sold me some "box damage" sale worthy items for full price which annoyed me, shipping box was pristine so they decided to give me stuff that they shouldn't have. HLJ has damaged stuff with dumb packing but otherwise everything they give is pristine.

HLJ is by no means perfect but they make me feel more comfortable and stress free overall. They brought the fun back in the ordering process for me and the fact I get to save some money at the same time is just awesome. There is a reason I used AmiAmi all this time and back when they had the best prices I probably saved several thousand dollars. Now HLJ is poised to save me thousands going forward so it's a no brainer.

Polynians are alien robots in a VN that interbred with humans over the years. The figures use spherical ball joints identical to Hobby Base Sphere joints and can use them interchangeably (I think). The original two Polynians of the line and backstory are Shamrock (male) and Clover (female). The later Polynians are part human in their ancestry and have clothing-armor. The white/grey nude Polys, Mel, or Emil.
Anybody but Yume, since she is a qc nightmare with frustrating limitations.
The nude Polynians pose extremely well and look good doing just about anything.
The are a little lacking in the accessory department.
A major problem with the whites is the crazy aftermarket pricetag.
The Greys are cute but don't partswap well.
Mel has the my favorite accessories of any Poly yet, hair that can be displayed multiple ways out of the box, cute expressions, and posability on par with with the nude bodies.
Emil poses well, has fun accessories, and my favorite set of expressions.
His poofy shorts can get in the way a little.
His color sceme is divisive but I personally like it.

I stopped buying Polys after Mel, and I want to get back into them after seeing Lucio, so I opened up Mel for the first time since I got her, and I forgot how shit the accessory tolerances were. I already shaved off some of the paint from the tip of one of her board handles trying to make that shoulder cannon configuration. Did those go on all the way for anyone? I also have issue getting one of her sandal things on and the gun hands are way too tight.

Are there any tolerance issues similar to that on Emil? They sort of killed the line for me for a while after the first run Yume shit.

Why do people want them anyway? For me, it's mostly because of the dumb pictures I can take. Shamrock gives off a pretty creepy vibe with the covered eyes and the smile, and makes the innocent nature of the others all the more screwed up looking when applied to just about any situation.

My cheapo emile showed up, and yeah, the accessories and extra body stuff make him way more fun than the original two. Daibadi's QC is still pretty garbage though, pretty much every thing that uses a peg that didn't come attached to him out of the box was a pain to actually get on.

All Poly's have that issue to some degree, because for whatever reason, they made the stomach of the Poly's a separate piece from the crotch and the upper body. Happy with the purchase.I passed over him during the initial release, but his design has also grown on me. He's an adorable robutt too pure for this world. Though he has the same problems I've had with my first release Yume where he falls apart at the seams when trying to pose. Though he's not nearly as bad as her. She just breaks down at a low breeze. He has shot up as my fav from the line!

I'm going to wait on quality reviews of Pinkle before going in on her.

I have a problem where his right leg separates from the body if you move it too much and the aforementioned waist separation. I only got toilet paper around, but adding it to the loose hole helps some. It eventually grinds down and becomes lose again if you move it around too much. Start using clear floor polish instead. I use Pledge Future Shine. That's the go-to joint tightener. It's super thin so you can just drip it in the hole with the peg still inside, it wont glue anything together, and if you don't want it in there anymore it's water soluble.

On Twitter Daibadi mentioned something about the yellowing. It got kinda jumbled in translation but it seems with Pinkle the problem will be no more. He suggests washing your hands before touching the figs to avoid yellowing and keep them in the dark. Doesn't help because some anons mentioned theirs get yellowed mint in box.

FYI thr hydrogen peroxide treatment is very temporary. You need to reinforce it with an anti UV coating. Even so, it may return, and yellow even worse than before.

I don't get why you're being so dismissive. These things cost $60 a pop and I was willing to overlook the fiddly parts/limbs falling off issues, the broken joints and the loss of panel lining. Those were all things I could fix within reason to get a very niche line. What I can't overlook is a figure looking like some 10-15+ year old poorly taken care of toy after less than a god damn year. That's something I can't fix because I don't have a place to repaint shit in my apartment.

Not those Anon's, but I haven't had a figure yellow myself. But if I had that happen I'd probably be extremely wary of future purchases. It's the smart thing to do. And if you don't like the line because of issues, yeah, I'd say stop buying. My only issues have been the same sorts of issues I've had in tons of other lines: Shit being too loose at times. Chinese people really are despicable. Their culture is FUCKED beyond belief. You simply can't do business with them as a small business. You need to be a BIG ass company and then have local agents constantly monitoring.

I remember when GSC and Alter tried to share a factory and Alter was like "NOPE, fuck this. We are going back to the old factory and delaying our entire product line" just to maintain the high level of quality they were known for. The new factory just couldn't give them the level of quality they wanted.

Four Horsemen also had issues with China for their Mythic Legions and Gothitroplis stuff. I believe one factory even stole their molds for Scarabus so he can never be re-released now.

Eh...it's pretty standard advice that I already follow myself to be honest. Who doesn't wash their hands before handling their toys? It'd be so easy to stain them or have chemicals left over on your hand interact horribly with the paint or plastic. Obviously if your hands are dirty, sticky or covered in harsh chemical cleaners/acids you don't just walk over to your toy shelf and start playing with shit. Wash your god damn hands.

As for the light thing...I assume he's referring to UV light such as the sun, CFL or halogen. Anyone who is familiar with how those types of light can discolor or fade printed/painted things already does their best to avoid that kind of light pollution. If this paint is discoloring under LED then we have a major fucking issue. Also discoloring after a few months is a major fucking issue which is exactly what Yume did and what Mel seems to be doing for some folks.

I'm going to assume his post on Pinkle was more or less saying "the problem has been fixed so it shouldn't discolor in a few months but as with all toys you should wash your hands and keep the toys away from UV to increase longevity" which is a reasonable bit of advice. I'm still on the fence about canceling Pinkle myself just to see how it all pans out though because can he really know for sure the problem has been fixed with China when they keep trying to screw him over? Their assurances typically don't mean shit because they just lie to your face without hesitation.

To clarify, this is not a problem with any company besides Daibadi at the moment. Revoltech, Figma, Gunpla, etcetera. You can handle them with 'gross' hands and they won't be damaged or marked at all. Scale figures are obviously different because they're statues, but the closest figures to Polynians don't even have anything close to the yellowing problem.

The Chinese assholes probably used some kind of cheaper paint or coat that didn't deal with acids well. Which is probably why he said to wash hands because the less acids the less likely it is to happen. When you wash your hands the ph levels in your hands are safe enough to handle sensitive documents and historical artifacts. There was a study showing this.

This stuff applies to comics as well. Older comics used shittier paper not buffered to handle acids so they yellowed like a motherfucker. Some of the early comic bags and boards were also acidic. Newer comics use higher quality paper so they don't really discolor from handling as easily and typically only start to discolor with age/UV exposure which nothing can really be done to prevent that with current technology.

As to why stuff in box never opened yellowed...you have to remember this stuff IS being touched at the factory during packing. Those hands are FULL of acids because it's not like they get to wash them often.
