You know what really bugs me?
Even after all this time, I still can't find a single Vegeta figure that I like. It's infuriating.
Either it's not got the right armor, the hair's got the wrong shape, the body has the wrong proportions, it's the wrong form, the articulation points make it look terrible, the face is painted wrong or the expression's off or the size is wrong.

I can't even tell you what my budget is because I've never seen one done in the right style that would me an indicator of what the price range would be.

If Rob Liefeld had been instructed to design characters for dragonball, GT would have been his baby.

To play devil's advocate why is wanting Frieza to help dumb? If the agreement really was he's just revived for an hour or whatever then yes that's stupid because why would Frieza want to help save the universe just to have to go back to his hell. But if he were to stick around that'd be reason enough to help, for him anyways. I kind of like the idea of frieza being their only hope. I'm picturing Goku going to hell and having a staredown with frieza like he did with cell after leaving the time chamber, rather than a "hey frieza long time no see" sort of thing. Plus the fact that they wouldn't be able to trust him would make it pretty interesting. They'd spend the entire tournament wondering if frieza will betray them and try to escape to one of the exempt universes somehow. What I don't like is the fact that he's replacing majin Buu. For some reason either toriyama or some jackass at Toei thinks it's hilarious for Buu to be falling asleep all the time. They did it in the Champa arc and it wasn't funny then either. As bad as the manga is, one thing toyotaro did right was having Buu just fail the exam, which makes a lot more sense considering that in dbz, Buu only needed to sleep for a few seconds, but I'm sure toriyama forgot about that. They could have had frieza replace krillin, tenshinhan, or master roshi, but instead they decide to replace Buu, who is not only far more powerful, but has much cooler abilities, after he got fit as fuck from a single day of training. It's way more than a "plot outline" but close enough. As you said, the mangaka and the anime studio are filling in DETAILS themselves. DETAILS. Not making their own stories. Toriyama writes for the anime, not for the manga, not for both, just for the anime. The story is written in episodes and takes into consideration the anime viewers only. The mangaka has to adapts that into manga form, not to write his own shit.

The only reason the story is bad in the manga is because the anime is just as bad in that regard. The real difference is that on top of having a terrible story, the anime is also technically awful.

Not that anon, but I agree. Berserk has a strong story, strong characters, amazing world and lore. The action is just the icing on the cake. The blood and gore never feel out of place or excessive, because the setting is dark and dangerous enough to allow it.

I'm not familiar with the super manga, but DB doesn't seem to be the kind of world where tons of blood and gore fits. Some blood, some explosions, but all very tame. I'm sure they could work it in if they wrote it well enough, but DB is more of a light hearted shonen series overall, and not a dark tragedy like Berserk, Gantz, or Attack on Titan.

Honestly, the sizing is near perfect unlike what some anons here will tell you. Compare him to Frieza, they are just about the same size. Buu could use to be a DROP smaller but again, near-perfect.

The shoulders themselves are more aesthetically pleasing than previous versions. The arm part appears to be slimmer so maybe the sleeve is attached on both sides so it may provide a more solid look. So yeah I'm defending them since they appear to be an improvement.

SHODO figures have this problem solved, this has been said countless times in these threads. Just mold the shoulder parts to be the sleeves of the gi. There's no reason not to do it that way, it wouldn't impede any articulation and wouldn't break the flow at all.

A lot of the candy toys have solved long-standing problems. Like Assault Kingdom RX-78 having excellent hip and ankle range because they made the skirts and ankle guards from soft PVC that flexes out of the way.
