Picked this up at Target today. I literally bought this just for the Thrawn minifug. Buuut It comes with a ship "The Phantom" so FINNE let's build this shit...

Damnit, more pieces than it looks like for such a smaller ship... Thrawn is in here somewhere...I'll build him last to build up my anticipation

I want Thrawn and Krennic, but don't want to buy the sets they're in...
I guess a lot of people feel this way cause Krennic and Thrawn are both very expensive on Bricklink.
Also I ordered a Rebels version of Grand Moff Tarkin since the Death Star one is understandibly more expensive. ($15 more expensive).
>>
>>6316683
I bought the Krennic set, but haven't put it together yet. It's HUGE. Maybe I'll do a two day Let's Build next weekend with that behemoth

>>
>>6316710
haha, I actually don't know..I don't even watch Rebels..lol like I said, bought this for Thrawn...

Starting part 2!
>>
>>6316710
Yes. He was blinded by a lightsaber to the face and is now blind. He covers his eyes with a mask.
>>
>>6316720
Okay, thanks! I haven't followed star wars in a while.

I take it he's as good at everything as before, because the force, or something?
>>
>>6316722
Pretty much
>>
>>6316722
bang on, excepting the occasional "I'm blind!" joke
>>
>>6316722
Pretty much. He was a kid being trained by a jedi master when the clones started killing jedi. He managed to escape. 15-ish years later, he got in a fight with a few inquisitors and Darth Maul. Maul is the one that blinded him.

>>
This is cool, waiting on Thrawn.
>>
>>6316816
Just finished the first season. It's ok. Definitely a kid's show, heroes are never in any real danger, but it provides an interesting look at the atypical training of a Jedi.
>>
>>6316799
Part 3! Finally!
>>
>>6316816
>>6316821
Yeaa that's my issue with Rebels. the first season is very very juvenille honestly. Completely unrealistic scenarios... Imperials are just run over by the "good guys" I hear that the last season is a bit more "serious", but meh,... I'll stick with the books/movies.
>>
>>6316825
I threw it on in the background while I did other stuff. Wasn't expecting much for a kids' show. It has a few cool moments. I'm hopeful for Thrawn, I'm just excited to see him on a screen.
>>
>>6316827
Has he made his debut yet on the show? Is the new season even airing right now?
>>
>>6316834
I just finished season 1, but I think he comes around in 2/3. I think season 4 comes out this fall.

I'm about to buy the Y-wing. Heard good things about it. Krennic's shuttle will probably be after that.
>>
>>6316856
Do it! I want the Y-Wing myself...
BTW, for those who care, I have on my list to build, but is currently sitting in on my floor:

x1 Krennic's Shuttle
x1 Lamba Shuttle
x1 A-Wing
x1 Naboo Star Fighter
x1 T-16 Skyhopper

Any preferences requests to what to see me build first? I think I may do the T-16 tomorrow... and Krennic's Shuttle next weekend..

Hey everyone, I'm back tonight to do a Lets Build of this! The Star Wars T-16 Skyhopper. Appears for like 2 seconds as a toy that Luke is playing with. Then referenced at the end about Luke bullseyeing womp rats with one. Also you got to pilot on in the old PC game Star Wars Rebel Assault from like 1993..
>>
>>6318203
Ugh.. lots of pieces for this one..I'm curious to see how big this is going to be though. I always liked the design of this. Also... I'm hoping this has some sort of stand?? I don't think it does, but I need some suggestions on make lego stands for ships like this.

>>
>>6318347
HAHA, The other side came out better! Some stickers on legos are need, or you just have blank sides. They look better on ships with like flat bare sides

HEre's both pieces together
>>
>>6318353
>or you just have blank sides

or you could add details with, i dunno, legos?
>>
>>6318356
bro.. if you want an accutate looking ship... you can't just stick on random other lego pieces. I'd hate to see your lego "replicas"
>>

btw, supposedly you can do this: spray the piece with windex, apply sticker, slide it around until it's in place, then just wait for the windex to dry.

>>6318378

>>
>>6318406
they just stuck one transparent dish on the ass and that's the engine? fucking lame, lego

still, thanks for a close look at the set
>>
Jesus Christ when did Lego get so fucking expensive? I'm gonna have to take out a second mortgage if I wanna get into this hobby.
>>
>>6318712
Adjusting for inflation, many of Lego's own sets are much better, price-per-piece, than they were in the 1990s and 2000s. The licensed sets are the ones that are grievously (hehe) expensive.
>>
OP here guys.

>>6318416
Yeaaa I sort of agree, and it's not even the bigger dish, there's another one in this style that they that they could have used... Granted these sky hoppers don't take much energy to get going I guess...

>>6318744
True, but if you consider what a lego set contains... it's still horridly expensive...

That being said, you guys are going to love this...(insert sarcasm), But I really wanted the Imwe lego figure and I really can not resist those death troopers...so I bought this silly tank transport set, literally just for them. I'm not even going to build the tank part...just keep the figures from it. Will be posting an early build set of pics a bit early on today, then continue with the A-Wing build.
>>
>>6318712
>Jesus Christ when did Lego get so fucking expensive?
Around the time that your parents stopped buying you Legos and you had to start buying them yourself.
>>
>>6319241
Is that kind of shit really nescessary? We're all lego fans here, chill with the un-needed insults, or get the fuck out.
>>
>>6319230
Consider what you get in a modern action figure; or consider how much, say, Warhammer figures cost. You get a lot more bang for your buck from Lego.
>>
>>6319243
>insults
Que?

As the other anon said, adjusted for inflation, they're cheaper than they've been in decades (if you ignore the license tax). You just didn't realize the cost when you were younger.

Stop thinking everyone is out to "troll" you, anon.
>>
OP here...

So yea..completely dis-regarding cost and probably breaking some cosmic law, I bought the set with Chriiut Imwe. It's the hovertank set, but I really just wanted the Troopers, Chirrut... most Chirrut...
>>
>>6319530
To be honest, the tank is a silly design anyway, so I'm not even motivated to even build / keep it. I'm going to see if I can use the parts to make a stand or two as I referenced here: >>6318215

Here's all the pieces I need... from these two..
>>
>>6319549

I've discovered the Lego Saturn V is going to hit the stores in two weeks.

I've been following it since the beginning of the ideas campaign, and I'm gonna buy it even if I had to sell my blood for it, but I can't avoid noticing how the original idea, pic related, was infinitely better. The engines for instance look like shit in the final release version, and apparently there won't be any internals.

Shut the fuck up! That ships loads better than your posts. You must be from sweden...

All right, I can understand for the internals, not many will care about them, but the engines are way more detailed, although more blocky, and the cost in terms of components shouldn't be that big, while the added visual effect is quite big.

Well, I guess I'll mod the thing myself if possible.

Should fill your ship with knock off Lego blacks.

They also have to think about how delicate the final design can be. I think the design in >>6327722 is super cool as well, but a single ply exterior shell and what looks like stud connections for the stages wouldn't hold together well. We have an F-1 engine at my school and I personally think the final looks better than the concept, but I don't know much about the J-2.

You need to realize that Lego doesn't manufacture pieces unless they have to. It's easy to make an amazing build in LDD, but Lego only has so many different pieces in production, and those are being produced in only so many different colors.

If the initial design calls for yellow hoses, but TLG is only producing hoses in black, then the final product will have black hoses. If the initial design uses pieces that TLG hasn't produced in a decade or more, the final design will use different pieces. If the initial design uses connections that TLG doesn't consider to be stable enough, the final design will use a different setup for connections.

And as the other anon said, there's a cost analysis that goes into production as well. This is why the 10,000 piece Ideas sets never get approved, even if they get enough votes.

Also, I still suck at focusing my camera. It doesn't like focusing on close objects without blurring.
