This picture is so dope
>>
Finally found a Legacy Movie Red after the movie's release.

He's definitely not great when compared to the Space/MMPR White figures, but he gets the job done. Might give him some additional paint apps and light panel lining to really make him shine.
>>
How do I get weapons with out shilling for 5 more figures?
>>
>>6316074

>>
I finally mother fucking found Legacy White at retail. The wave finally looks to be hitting. Passed in MMPR yellow since i plan to get the metallic re releases with their weapons. Glad I got SDCC red at the con since he will match.
>>
>>6316152
i wish i could find an sdcc red

I got him at the con. They didn't have anyone in line and when I was eyeing the new figures a guy who worked there came up to me and asked me if I got everything I wanted. I asked if they had the Red Ranger and he let me get one so I lucked out.
>>

i would legitimately pay scalper prices for one.

i'm definitely jealous

Sorry I don't remember where I got it. Though I've been considering 3D modelling it and making it available to people on shapeways in a variety of scales. Though shapeways is pretty expensive so I'm not sure if it would be worth the effort. How much would you be willing to pay?

I went to Barnes and Nobel yesterday on the hunt for some gunpla and noticed they had a decent selection of PR stuff. Many of the 5in figures in the daimond boxes. TV and movie versions of nearly everyone. I almost picked up movie white and TV green but held off since I don't collect in that scale. They also had the Legacy Dragon Dagger, Dragonzord, and Red Ranger Helmet. Was tempted to snag the Dragon Dagger but I have limited funds available to me until my new debit card arrives. I was surprised B&N had PR stuff. No 6.5in Legacy stuff though. I ended up snagging White from Target on my way home.
>>
>>6317287
>>6317289
Wonder why they decided to scale it up
>>

>>
>>6317311
How much were they charging for the figures? Did they have the villains too or just Rangers? I think those movie Rangers are amongst the best figures Bandai America has ever done. The sculpts are spot on, and they come with all their accessories.

I wish they'd continued making figures with that level of quality instead of starting over with the polarizing 6.5s. Ninjetti Rangers would have been a nice follow up and tied in with Ninja Steel (the reason Ninja Storm was series 1). Since they'd need no weapons each could have had a masked and unmasked head. Oh well.

I didn't even look honestly. The Movie White Ranger did look spot fucking on though. That was the only reason I was interested. Most of their other stuff is retail so I'd guess they'd be about the same as everywhere else. No villains, just Rangers. It was mostly TV rangers too, just Movie White and Pink.
>>
Just picked up every movie legacy figure except red. Found an nycc red online for 30$. Does he come with an arm part or only the coin?

>bought Ninja Megazord some time ago
>just ordered SoC Daizyujin last week
>Thunder Megazord back in stock at TRU
It was on sale last week, and I neglected to buy it, but I guess I have to move soon before it goes out of stock again. Legacy Shogun when?
>>
>>6317446
Odd that they'd restock at this point in time. The mass re-release (they were originally exclusive to Toys R Us} was a year ago. They're $17 at TRU I believe, so price is good.

>>6317661
Uh... yeah, pretty much anything made for Power Rangers.

>>6317864
>Legacy Shogun when?
Probably not till 2018. Hoping they at least have it to show at SDCC.
>>
>>6317888
>Probably not till 2018
So basically the Legacy line will die before I get Super Zeo?
>>
>>6317917
>expecting them to ever move beyond MMPR
I'd love nothing more than Legacy Zeo Zords (particularly Red Battlezord since the original is a brick), but it won't happen while they can still milk the MMPR cow with Tor, Serpentera, Ninjor, and a 2.0 OG Megazord. Not to mention more black & golds.
>>
>>6317343
Will there be any electronics? I want the dx because of the "yeeha! Yeeha! Yeeha!" Noises.
>>
>>6318154
Bandai America hasn't done electronics in their zords in a long time. Even the legacy line doesn't get it, which would be a better way of increasing the price point than poorly implimented diecast which always seems to cause problems.
>>
>>6318154
>>6318260
The Lion Fire Fortress Zord has electronics. Before that was the Jungle Pride Megazord 9 years ago, sadly.
>>
>>6317940
Legacy Ninjor is a must have.
>>
>>6318260
Aw, well, i guess i will have to choose between the dx or minipla at a later date
>>
>>6318351
>Lion Fire Fortress Zord
That's an exception all around because it's being treated more as a playset than a Megazord and carries a $130 price tag. Which I personally think is nuts for a non-legacy item.
>>
>>6317888
>pretty much anything made for Power Rangers

Aight, I could see it work for the ones that got fully adapted but how are my chances to get the toy bikes for Sun Vulcan or Dairanger? Are there some more generic looking bikes in that scaler that could be used for conversion?
>>
>>6318518
There have been a lot of various bikes made for Kamen Rider figures, I'm sure there's a few that are generic looking enough to work.
>>
>>6318518
Dairanger bikes got released here in season 2 with different stickers (and black substituted for green). I image there's generic bikes in the 5 to 6 inch range but couldn't give you any specific example.
>>
when is the bull rider megazord coming out? and how hard is it to find a 5" dino charge Ptera zord? the design is cool, but the big zords go for $60-$160 and can barely pose, since ninja steel and dino charge stuff is on my shelves, I was wondering if the megazord toy would be a likely find or not.
>>
>>6318812
>when is the bull rider megazord coming out?

>how hard is it to find a 5" dino charge Ptera zord?
In stores? Non-existent. Online? Check ebay.
>>
>>6318838

>>
>>6318593
What bikes are these? The rangers look pretty good on them.
>>
>>6319386

you can search power ranger bike on ebay and there's plenty of listings of them
>>
>>6317940
I don't know, with the exception of the Ninja Megazord, who was present in the original Movie (albeit in a version with extra robotic chromosomes), I don't think many people really remember season 3. It's half as short as seasons 1 in length, for one thing, so it's not like Saban even really cared.
>>
>>6318593
Out of the MMPR toys I remember owning as a kid, I definitely know I had few of the bikes. Probably black & blue cause of the colors.
>>
>>6319252
Well if you wanted 5" Dino Charge Pink or Purple, you can find them anywhere :^)
>>
>>6319541
A lot of fans regard season 3 of MMPR to be the height of that particular iteration of Power Rangers. I personally enjoy Season 2. The switch from Dinozords to Thunderzords, Tommy moving from Green to White. Good shit.

Adam isn't based, he's a glorified background character people only like because of him coming back for In Space and because his actor did anime voices. Trading in Zack for him was a huge mistake.

5 inch releases are at Walmart and come packed in with their movie counterparts. Pretty good sculpts, they actually come with weapons, and have decent enough articulation. $20 will get you an OG ranger and a movie ranger. Best bet probably.

Your alternatives are the 6.5 in Legacy figures, which are bigger and feature more articulation, but lack their signature weapons. Re-releases with weapons are coming out in the fall I think. Figuarts MMPR are good too, but they can get pretty crazy price wise (hell, so can Legacy figures) and I'm not sure how devoted you are.

Your best and quickest way will probably be the Walmart packs I first mentioned.
>>
>>6320413

I bought the set when it was on clearance for 120 on Big Bad since I actually enjoyed Shinkengers.

There are a ton of paint smears on the sides of the torsos, but you can't really see them unless you look closely. The real bad thing was that there were lots of areas of chipped paint and Green ranger had a big scratch in his helmet.

Overall I don't regret my purchase at that price, but I have to think that these weren't lone issues I was having with the set. Don't pay more than 150 for it.

Today I decided to go to all the fucking gamestops in my area to try and find a legacy white ranger. I went to one gamestop before saying fuck it, then went home and paid scalper price because I'd rather not drive all over town in vain. I did come across the 6.5 new movie figures and now I'm convinced that the new suits just aren't very good. I didn't like them at first even though I wanted to. I thought they would eventually grow on me but after seeing the figures in person they just don't hold a candle to any of the other 6.5 legacy figure desgins.

Its more than we've gotten in any sentai DX before, sure, but its still not great. I get the limitations of a combining figure, of course, but I have seen other combining toys(SoCs, for the matter), that manage more. The head being on a simple swivel hurts a lot.It suffers from what I call "flail articulation", in that the arms and legs can pose decently, but the torso and head are stiff which makes it hard to really make him sell a pose. for comparison's sake, this chogokin style Gold ranger figure from 1996 on my desk has about the same articulation capability.

I just wish there was some way the T.rex tail and bottom of the pteradactyl(the "belt buckle") could disattach to give him more believable waist articulation. You can bullshit it decently, but I worry about the strain it'll put on components and it really should've been a bigger consideration. It feels like Sentinel would've done something like that. It'd go a long way into selling the poses a lot more. Its an unfair comparison in a way(because of how simple the combining feature is, relatively), but Sentinel's Dancouga is able to pull off poses with much more dynamism and grace and its become the watermark I'm going to hold other figures of this kind to. Even the shoulders could've gotten better articulation because the combining system thats there is relatively simple and more could've been added with relatively little intrusion.
>>

Figuarts are dead until they stop being bullheaded and listen to the western audience, though that ship has probably sailed. We'll never have SHF Ohranger, Megaranger, etc, but we will have Legacy, not the best figures, but at least you have a better chance of completing a full generations display.
>>
>>6323826
Follow the thread. Originally reference were MMPR figures. If you're willing to get scalped get scalped for Figuarts and not that stupid Legacy shit.

If you really want a figure of an inferior season then buy inferior figures but reserve the high dollars for a high quality figure
>>
>>6323831
I have the SHF, but the fact remains, if you want those rangers to team up with other series, you're going to have a better chance with the Legacy releases. I can't have SHF Mammothranger team up with SHF Megablack, because the latter doesn't exist, but Legacy MMPR and In Space Black exist. If I want to do a Zeo Power Chamber display with the old MMPR suits in the background, I can only have it with Legacy. They have a purpose.
>>
>>6323818
>why would you want to put the megazord into extreme action poses anyways?

Because most people have something called imagination.

Are you a butthurt owner of that piece of shit Legacy Megazord by any chance? I just can't fathom how someone can hate having better articulation on a toy than just shoulder and hip swivels.

And someone with amazing imagination doesn't need toys and can pretend rocks and sticks are whatever the fuck they want them to be.

Unless you're completely retarded you will be able to understand that "imagination" in this case means "creativity to pose their figures". But seems that you want your toys to be bricks for no fucking reason. Maybe most of your toys are already bricks and you feel the need to shit on things with more joints or something.

>>6324036
>this thing doesn't look good doing anything besides standing upright though

I don't think it looks best in extreme poses, that's for sure. But I like poses like pic related, and that can't be done unless the thing has a decent amount of joints. As someone who likes the design and owns the original DX toy for more than 20 years I'm going to love those new knee, thigh, elbow and bicep joints.

right, I kept thinking that was probably the reason, same with the minimal head articulation(but wait didn't the head look down a few times on the show?) and either way, the design takes so many liberties with proportions I wonder why they'd stay faithful to that.

Really I think it has more to do with the designer being the same as the old DX toy(something they touted in the lead up to the release.) and him not being accustomed to more modern innovations in figures. his is a Chogokin in the classic sense, the appeal is in the weight and feel, not so much the articulation

>>
>>6325405

>>
>>6325410

>>
>>6324794
Just seems my phone doesn't take good pics of figures.
>>
>>6325370
>Why can't Japan make an OG Megazord with a proportional head?

Because giant japanese robots have tiny heads. The Megazord has a ridiculous bobblehead because it's limited by the fact of it being a suit, but every other model used in Zyuranger has the tiny head because that's how the transformable robot is supposed to look.

And the Legacy doesn't have a proportional head at all, they just made the horns bigger and less accurate.

>>6325373
>Shame I didn't pick up the Legacy megazord when I have the chance

Don't bother, it's garbage. Most people will argue that the robot mode looks closer to the show just because it's thiner (but it has a whole new bunch of innacuracies), it also sacrifices the separate Zords looks and they look terrible.

either way, this is a totally subjective matter when it comes to proportions. none of them are even close to the actual toku suit.

I get that the Legacy cheaps out on some things, but I feel like its unfairly maligned. There's some things I will always dislike(the tiny squares on the legs, for one, really the whole knee area with the external T.Rex knees.) but I think its an admirable effort in modernizing the look. If it was never rereleased and was only available as the 2010 release, I think it'd get a lot more respect, but since its put against other, high quality releases in the Legacy line since then, and due to the cost, it just looks worse. If it got a $40 rerelease instead of a $70 one, I think more people would be willing to consider it a decent alternative.

Look again, It's just the horns being bigger and wider (and making them less proportioned in relation to the head).

The head was way bigger in the show beause it was a dude on a costume, but as far as shape goes the SoC has the most accurate one.

>The legs are slim in the show. I like that the Legacy is closer to that.

The Legacy legs are actually way to long for the body. They made the thighs longer (by leaving the tyrannosaurus knees exposed, something that looks really bad in my opinion) but the tiger and triceratops are still way to long, so it feels like the thing has Katoki-style legs.

Is that photo supposed to show they aren't? They're about the same width as the thighs like the legacy. I hate how fat the legs are on the nip versions, but like you said it's a subjective matter.
I see more of the show suit in the legacy because of the slimmer torso and legs, and larger looking head as a result. Also longer thighs. I'm happy with it for the time being, though I'd love for Bandai to do a 2.0 and give it the proper legacy treatment.

>>6326710
>THE TOKU SUIT IS THE GUY IN A FUCKING SUIT.
And? That's what I saw in the show, so that's what the Megazord is supposed to look like to me. I love the Legacy Tigerzord because it actually looks like the show. Thunder is also much closer to the show, though I wish it was shorter. These things can be made to be functional and also resemble their on-screen counterparts
>>
>>6326734
The transformation sequence isn't even accurate to the guy in the suit then.

You're a delusional autist just get the fucking imaginext if you're so inclined for a dude in a suit edition.
>>
>>6326743
You best not be shitting on Imaginext, anon.
>>
>>6326734
>And? That's what I saw in the show, so that's what the Megazord is supposed to look like to me.

Well, I clearly remember the Megazord having exacly the toy proportions when in tank mode and when it was transforming. You know, beause that's the only way the transformation makes any kind of sense. As a kid I understood that fact, and how the robot should look closer to those scenes than the wonky suit for it to actually work.

So, to me, the Megazord always looked like a robot in my mind, and not a crappy suit.
>>
>>6326744
I'm not I own it.
>>
>>6325979
I wish some of those casuals and autists would send their Megazord parts to me. I don't collect the Legacy figures because of the slipshod QC and goofy scale, but that's likely the best version of the movie Megazord we'll ever get.
>>
>>6326743
>The transformation sequence isn't even accurate to the guy in the suit then.
The only difference is the way the legs attach, and it makes the thighs longer so I'm okay with it. I'm also a fan of the zordbuilder functionality.

>>6326745
That's all well and good, but I prefer my Megazord to look like the guy in the suit who actually fought than the transformation/tank mode which we saw for all of 20 seconds per episode. If you don't like the suit you're entitled to your opinion, but they can absolutely make a functional version of the zords that combine to look like the suit, and that's what I want. You've got the SRC for what you want, so I don't know what you're sperging out over.
>>
>>6326795
>but they can absolutely make a functional version of the zords that combine to look like the suit

Yeah, and they will look like ass when separated. Bobbleheaded T-Rex so the huge Megazord suit head fits inside, tiger and triceratops with short as fuck bodies, etc.

And before you even try, the Legacy Thunder Megazord and Tiger Zord aren't good comparisons. Given the overall proportions it's way easier to make them look accurate in both modes. The original Megazord would be a pain in the ass and no toy designer would go out of their way to make it look 100% accurate to the wonky suit, because having 100% accuracy in one mode means looking wrong in the other one.
>>
>>6326803
I'm not an autist who expects 100%. Ultimately if I wanted individual Zord accuracy I'd have bought the SRC. I'm fine with concessions being made to the individual Zords to give me the closest possible Megazord to the show suit.

Now that the dust has settled and the movie has proven to be a colossal failure, how worried should we be about the future of the movie's toyline? Because if that Rita two-pack doesn't get released I'm storming Bandai's headquarters with fire and pitchforks.
>>
>>6327218
I wouldn't say it's a colossal failure, the toys don't seem to be selling any worse than any other Power Rangers line. We're not talking about a Green Lantern-level disaster here. Assuming Bandai timed the second-wave stuff to coincide with the video release, it's already in production anyway.

Although, if they wanted to scrap the two-pack and re-shuffle Rita into a new assortment with new 5" versions of Goldar, Finster, Squatt, Baboo, and Scorpina, that would be all right.

Boxofficemojo.com. The gross is pitiful. It even bombed in China.
>>
>>6327244
>>6327248
It underperformed. It's going to end up being a break-even or a slight loss. Kind of like Ghostbusters was. A bomb would be something like Speed Racer, where the movie not only was terrible but also lost a ton of money.

Too bad about the situation in China, I guess the movie didn't have enough retarded action scenes and dumb-looking CGI monsters to keep the little fuckers engaged. I'm sure they'll love the next piece-of-shit Transformers sequel though.
>>
>>6327261
Ghostbusters was considered a huge failure. Studio only gets roughly half the ticket sales, theaters get the rest. This hasn't even recooped it's budget, let alone the marketing costs. They're looking at a $50 mil loss at LEAST.
>>
>>6327218
Bandai has a pretty good track record of releases. Plus they know MMPR is a huge seller so the odds are in favor of 93 Rita getting a release no matter what. Worst case scenario is she becomes a TRU or SDCC exclusive or it's more likely she will show up at clearance stores like Ross and TJMaxx first.

>>
>>6326727
>there's not a single one that looks better to the old one

Yeah the Legacy seems really cheap compared to the old DX, in both detail and build quality. I mean the Triceratops tail is just some solid molded piece on the Legacy. It's just not the same as the Dragonzord-and-beyond Legacy items.
>>
I just hope you guys all have you legacy movie rangers, they're gonna spike hard with no sequel.

>>
>>6327609
I don't trust any site. Saban is a jew and people don't like too much story in their action hero movie.

The Green ranger and tommy conflict was huge for the show and i think it would be huge for the sequel.

I hope they give it a shot, but knowing how stupid movie goers are im not surprised if there isnt one.
>>
>>6327609
No, there's not going to be a sequel because it's losing at least 50 million dollars. They don't make movies to lose money.

>There has been several anons recently arguing semantics over what they remember as retarded children watching fox kids over the actual in series design for things.

The only nostalgiafags in that regard are the ones who want their transformable robot toys to resemble the guy in a cardboard box costume from the show.
>>
>>6327692
No, you don't perform as bad as this movie did and get a sequel. It just doesn't happen, period. I really can't overstate how poorly this movie performed. The studio might try to save face and act like it didn't do too terrible and like a sequel is still possible like they've done with other failures, but I assure you after the home video release this will be swept under the carpet.
>>
>>6327715
No anon I was talking about you because you want a non-suit accurate version of Daizyuzin.
Not that there's anything wrong with wanting a stylized design mind.
>>
>>6327724
You're just being a contrarian

here's the you that you seek
>>
>>6327694
Scale is more important to me than articulation, and it's not as if 5 inch Rangers only have 5 poa. If you'd rather have the bigger figures because they're more articulated that's fine, but to call others babies for wanting shit in scale with other shit they own is what's truly childish. Not everyone wants what you want.

>>6327715
What makes wanting the Megazord to look like a 25 year old toy any less nostalgiafaggotry than wanting it to look like the suit in the show? It's called dissenting opinions.
>>
>>6327740
No, I'm dropping reality bombs. The film needed to make 200 million just to recoop it's budget, and that's not taking marketing costs into account. There is absolutely zero chance of a sequel.

It was a piece of shit that fell $30 million short of even meeting its production budget (which, as all the Hollywood insiders in this thread will tell you, means it actually lost a lot more than that). I know this entire site has been overrun by MRA redpill faggots who will argue against reality until they're blue in the face, but for all of its shortcomings at least Ghostbusters was well-reviewed (Power Rangers somewhat less so, but at least it was well received by the target audience). Movies like that are disappointments that missed the mark financially but are at least decent to watch, but total disasters like Speed Racer or The Lone Ranger are on a whole other level.

Yes and those reviews were all completely genuine and not at all the result of agenda pushing, virtue signaling, fear, or flat out being paid off. Ghostbusters 2016 is honestly one of the biggest pieces of shit I have ever seen. Speer Racer is a masterfully done adaptation that respects the source material. I don't know why it did so poorly, but I feel like it was before it's time. It would've been an amazing Imax 3d experience.

That makes no fucking sense whatsoever. If anything the ones with nostalgia googles are those who want a modern robot toy to look like a shitty costume just because that's what they watched on TV as kids 20 years ago.

>>6327746
>What makes wanting the Megazord to look like a 25 year old toy any less nostalgiafaggotry than wanting it to look like the suit in the show

Nobody wants it to look excatly like the old toy, they want it to look like a fucking baddass super robot instead of a crappy cheap costume with a giant head. And the SoC manages to do that.

>inb4 the SoC looks like the old toy

Only if you're blind.
