That's for normal paint application. For a wash, you need the paint to be very thin in order for the paint to fill in the cracks and details.

Any word if these are going to be molded in color? the figures in the Toyark gallery are peeling paint all around the joints and I didn't catch what stage of production those represented.
>>
>>6308915

The bodies are cast in whatever colour plastic it's gonna be along with it's joints (so whatever skin tone the figure is getting or the blank figure is). The odd exception is a figure like the COLUBRIDA GUARD who has a neon skin deco spray.

With armor it's cast in the colour it is if it's a flat colour. WIth metallics or neon colours it's a spray mask. Since most if not all of that is a softer material with some flex.

Not sure with the weapons.

The toyark figures are there painted up prototype samples for the deco they want. Painted on the early stages blue prototypes (they did the same for Series 1).

The Series 3 space wave concept art has some ideas for Reptrons male (one is even colored like Action Force Kraken) and female, while the concept art for the series 2 Nagga has one arm scaly... so slowly but surely we will have Dragon/Lizard/Saurians I reckon.

what are the possibilities they'll do a military line? it seems the BFS team are a bunch of faggots and SJW type of persons, but damn it, they have so far putting some nice toys out.

They've been sculpting all lf it since Marauders started doing figures. They've also been doing sculpting for s half-dozen other lines like Adventure People, Eagle Force, the upcoming zombie Kickstarter, the G.I. Joe collector's club, etc.
>>
I just ordered some stuff from Marauder's Gun runners and the package hasn't even left the state of Massachusets yet since May 1, it has just been moving inside from city to city, and this is an international order to Mexico. How long should I wait?

I like their flat shipping rate though, I think it is very reasonable.

Btw I wanted a magnum but it is not on their site right now, like it doesn't even say "out of stock" it just disappeared.

Those were really bad.
They have some of the softest sculpts this side of Figma Robocop and Figuarts Rocket Raccoon. The articualtion as also really hampered by the sculpt.
Buy them only for their weapons.

MGR's army figures are best PMC contractors and generic army men.

I think soft sculpt refers to the "blobiness" of the sculpt, like no sharp edges or fine details.

Like, untextured polygon model.

It all depends and the situation.
Most PMCs who are out in a urban setting basically only doing secruirty? normal clothes with armor over it.

Actual BZNZ?

Use your imagination and that's why MGR made them highly customizable.
>>
>>6313786
I'd actually prefer a more traditional uniform top before a t-shirt.

>>6313794
I do like that there are now options without the forearm and shin protectors. I still don't like the shirt choice though.
>>
>>6313763
I won't lie, the first thing you should do with either of Teika/Hiya's military lines is raid your parts bin for new heads. I ever get on the 1:18 cart again I plan to hit those Germans with Dragon and 21st Century Toys kit.

>>6313781
Yeah, my big issue were those bracers and greaves.
>>
>>6313762
I don't remember what they used inside the country, I think it was mexpost but premium or some shit. I ordered like 600 pesos, but weapons only. I've never had any issues with customs, but I know people has had issues when ordering humanoid figures. It seems to happen randomly though.

Comoquiera no te desesperes anon, las armas de marauder estan vergisimas. Lo que te recomiendo es a la otra diles que lo marquen como "regalo", porque a veces ponen el ticket de compra afuera del empaque y asi te puede chingar la aduana.
>>
do you guys think there will be a market for higher quality knockoffs of Gi Joe Licenses like how 3P companies make figures for Transformers? I dont mean just generic military men in 1/18 i mean really obvious copies of GI Joe characters but with Revol Mini articulation.
>>
>>6314020
There might be a market in the US(kind of doubt it) but the reason third party Transformers stuff exists is because there's a market for it in China, where it's designed and made. I doubt Chinese people give a crap about GI Joe.
>>
>>6314020
Nope.

270KB, 1920x1109px
Just a heads up guys, I noticed the Elite Force Humvee is back in stock for only $24 with prime free shipping. Its a great little vehicle to have and its a steal for $24bucks.
>>
>>6314020

Nope. If they can't sell regular Joes they can't sell 3P joes.

3P Transformers took off because people couldn't get enough of HasTak's products. They wanted more, faster, before official releases. That's why the 3P market grew from making "upgrade kits" to making new figures, and why they moved from "Generations" styled figures to Masterpiece size. The demand was there. The market was booming.

There's no market for GI joe at any scale, at any price point. The only people buying it are a few diehard collectors, which won't even nearly be enough to sustain the dosh that goes into making 3P toys.

Military toys just aren't a thing anymore. Robots, aliens and fantasy has fully supplanted them both with kids and adults.
>>
>>6313956
Thanks. I'll wait.

I did see the stupid restrictions on imports "No human looking toys" fucking why???????
>>
>>6314316
I got this the first time. So strange it has some really fantastic details in some parts and in others it is shit.

Is the pilot side mirror totally out of place in yours like a good 5mm lower than it should be? And is the shift stick all the way back to the passenger side?
>>
>>6314020
Nope. 3rd party Transformers are a bit expensive. While some GI Joe fans are willing to buy the expensive JoeClub exclusives, most are notoriously cheap and wait for stuff to go on clearance before buying it. I remember years of Toy Fair reveals getting responses like, "Looks cool, but I'll wait to buy it cheap at Ross."
>>
Guys, I would push back on there being NO fanbase for 3rd party joe stuff. There's a fanbase willing to pay $25-30 for Joe-styled generic figures from these new companies like Boss Fight etc.

Yeah, it's like 500 people buying this shit. But it's enough to keep several companies afloat and producing figures. And that's with IP that most people are unfamiliar with. Look at how many people buy the Club's garbage.

The problem with 3rd party joes is that Hasbro would kick the fuck out of anybody who tried unless they were a Chinese company and they only really produce for the Chinese audience with the rest of the world as an afterthought. So there's no incentive for anyone to do it.
>>
>>6314527
This.

Joe fans are some cheap fuckers. Then they ask themselves why the line is dead.

I don't think there can be a "high quality" 3P version of GI Joes, considering a lot of the companies who produce 1:18 figures for a lot more money than GI Joes aren't really that much better.

Probably the nicest of all the higher priced 1:18 figures are Toy Notch's Lost Planet figures, but their paint isn't as nice as Hasbro's.
MGR already makes their generic soldiers line and it's what a lot of GI Joe collectors want in the first place: customizable army builders.

There's a lot of companies already that make GI Joe-type figures, so they're already filling that niche that 3P lines would be making.

So a 3P line making generic Vipers and Snake Eyes rip offs would just be another drop in the bucket of other 1:18 lines out there.
3P Transformer lines fill a nice niche because there is a complete dearth of Transformer-wannabe lines and Hasbro/Takara is really really cheap on paint and transformable/moving pieces.
There has always been a lot of room for improvement with Transformers (Masterpieces can't fill that niche fast enough).
1:18 lines are way more straight forward, just like 1:12. A lot of people already don't go after collector lines like Figuarts and REvoltechs for Marvel characters, because the Hasbro figures are already good enough (read: the 2-4x price increase isn't worth the upgrade) or better than collector lines (usually in likeness).

Picked up both of the Spider-Man 2 packs they did for the movie today. Managed to snag decent versions of Homecoming Spidey, Classic, Shocker, and Vulture. joes are permanently scalper central, and you should never try to buy them online. your best bet for good prices is honestly at places like big lots and walgreens.

Walgreens and Big lots have not sold Joes in quite some time anon. Currently the only brick and mortor store selling joes is TRU but the recent 50th wave has run dry. BBTS has some Joes in stock and they are good deals but you have to get a case to get the best prices. You can get the latest 50th wave for around 115 bucks, which is a good deal for 16 figures.
Kokomo's Ebay store still has the Atelis exclusive HACKS figure for 30 bucks shipped. Its a great figure and it comes with tons of accessories.

You can also join a Joe board like Hisstank and buy some joes from some of the members. Ive made some good deals there.
The GI Joe Club is selling the 3 pack female for $65, which is a great deal for an exclusive. The only issue is you will need to pay the 40 dollar membership fee or you can get someone who is a member to buy it for you.

>I guess toys use to be a hobby for poor manchildren but now its turned into a ego stroke competition about how much money you spend.
Holy shit dude, you sound pathetic. If you can't afford or don't want to buy figures that are over 10 dollars thats fine. Nobody gives a shit but I don't understand the salt in regards to others who can afford to buy these pricier figures. Has nothing to do with ego. Some folks actually like the figures and buy them because they enjoy the hobby. You sound like a sour collector that is out of touch with reality.

>I am not paying 40 fucking dollars for one 1:18 figure.

What are you trying to buy anon? Most female Joes are old or exclusives and therefore will cost you anywhere between $20 and $100+ depending on the character and rarity and what version of the character. That has nothing to do with do with scalpers if you want some rare figure produced either for the Joe club and never joined to get it at a good deal or never dropped over $300 on some low production number convention set.

>>6320512
>Kickstarter
>Exclusive

That's nobody's fault but your's if you didn't snatch up a rare or indy figure at a low price.

>>6320585
Toys aren't a hobby for you then. The economy has changed drastically making it very hard to turn a profit without, which is why Star Wars is 5 POA and toy companies do not do playsets very often anymore. Most action figures are in the $20 range now.

>$30 kickstaller figures with an 18 month delay are great and all, maybe I am just old and miss being able to buy toys in a toy store,

Nothing's stopping you from buying toys in a toy store, but if you want high production values from a niche toy market at less than the $20-30 range then you're completely delusional.

>maybe Im just cheap and dont want to spend more than $10 on a single 4 inch figure.

YES, you are. Considering Joes cost about $15 in store and they don't even sell them anywhere right now.

>I guess toys use to be a hobby for poor manchildren but now its turned into a ego stroke competition about how much money you spend.

Buy shit when it comes out, not on resale. I've been collecting modern Joe for about three years and slowly but surely getting everything I want and at good prices.

>>6320664
Bossfight is an indy company producing high detail figures online in only their online store. There's a reason their prices are high. Your greed doesn't justify making them go bankrupt.

I have Zanya. She cost me around $20 maybe a little less at the time. It took me over a year to get most of the female chatacters. I still haven't gotten a 30th Scarlett without a fucked up head. I had two that I bought with bad paint bubbles, another with an unpainted spot on her cheek, another with a large crease in the paint across her face from the factory, and my most recent one with two large circular marks on her face from where it looks like her head was set down on a flat surface while the paint dried.

Other than that I still need Bombstrike and Covergirl to have all the major girls besides female Doc.
>>
>>6320643
They are. Four Horsemen is supposedly doing sculpts for them and the GI Joe Club now. The Corps is trying to up their quality but stay cheap. It's mostly their vehicles anyone buys since they're large and cheap but not very high quality and the plastic feels cheap.
>>
>>6320888
I have them (including Helix and Mainframe) but don't have the female Doc. I have a brutal Valor vrs Venom (I think) Scarlet with a tiny head who looks like she woudl snu snu you to death as well as a couple of newer ones. No ninja girls. One of the ponytails broke off one of my Renegades and she's my bad-ass chopper pilot. I didn't get the 50th Lady J (who looked cow-eyed and dumb) and Baroness as I really didn't like the faces.
I DO want a Zarana - just cause.

Not shilling here but I was in on both Kickstarters and bought more...Marauder has some nice female heads and despite some others complaints about some of the African American sculpts my two are fine.
>>6320874

A Golden Compass Lyra and Serafina at $1(sihpping is $13.60 though). Dr. Augustine from Avatar for $15(free shipping). Terminator Salvation Pilot BLARIR about $14(free shipping). Pirates of the Caribbean Elizabeth Swan from $9-20, Angelica ~$13. From Narnia, there's a Lucy with Aslan for about $24 shipped.

auction said "like new, has all parts and from smoke-free home"
it took the guy two whole weeks just to ship it
then another two weeks to actually get to my mailbox
and when it finally showed up? it was just haphazardly stuffed into a padded envelope
one of its legs had completely snapped off and it didn't have any of its accessories
at least it didn't smell like smoke but it was still total bullshit
I left negative feedback (which he somehow got expunged in like two days)
and never used ebay for unboxed toys ever again

I've never had good luck with buying loose figs on ebay

now if it were five years ago I'd say go to a flea market or thrift shop

Did they ever correct their plastic quality? I bought two of their aliens when they first came out. One was broken in the box, the tail plug was just busted. I doubt it. I had the same issue with 2 of my aliens. One the tail was broken out of the package and another an arm joint was super stuck together. I soaked all of them in hot water to lossen the joins and avoid broken joints. The tail i was able to fix pretty easy.

Im still goin to order them. They look good unlike the awefull marines. Just have to be carefull while posing them.

Frequently. Almost always had positive experiences. Take a moment to shop around, buy from people with good ratings. Keep in mind that people are more likely to give shitty ratings than good ratings, so you can generally tell when something's up. Don't just "buy now", but find auctions, too.

The best closest one on that scale is the Michael Keaton Batman Mattel released a few years back. Problem is it was made by Mattel so the quality is shit. There's a few lines, but the only one that scales nice and looks good are the Mattel Multiverse 4" ones, before they changed the line to 6". Like >>6325722 says, it's mattel so they kinda suck still.

If you're going for an Arkham version, avoid those based on the Arkham City body, it has gorilla, pinhead proportions.

Yeah, the Multiverse figures suffered from all kinds of problems. Still, that Black Mask suited body, with a couple of mods, was fucking golden.

>>
>>6326910
It's from a Japanese miniature company called Rement. They started offering a line of posable skeletons 3.75" scaled some time ago and have since supplemented it with a ton of accessory packs. See >>6325732 for scale and >>6290952 for more pics.

I'm really interested in getting some of the Pose Skeleton accessory packs for my Hacks and Marauders, but looking at the lineup pic the figure seems to be actual 3.75" and not 1/18 which would mean the accessories will be too small for one of those lines.

Have any of you tried using any of the Pose Skeleton accessories or furniture with those lines?

Yup, that's a splicy-splice of Marvel Big girl parts onto a H.A.C.K.S torso (drilled the shoulder socket a fraction so it can take the bigger pin. Hips got swapped out too for the marvel parts).

You should be able to crack the torso like you do on a G.I Joe, that's how I did on a spare Marauder ages ago. The joint sockets are different so you'll have to put some work in to get them to be compatible

Yeah, Sentinel 1 is a specific military-themed sub-line under True Heroes. They were released before as simply "True Heroes military" or "Soldier Force", but now they have a sort-of G.I. Joe theme going for them. The characters come with dog tags that let you identify them; I've been trying to compile a list of all the characters' names without having to shell out for all the vehicles and playsets.
