You ain't posting in German, though.

I don't know why but the concept of timing seems tough with parents. This exact thing happened to me several times. I also remember more than a few times my dad refused to let me go out with my friends, and eventually relented and told me I could go...after they had all left without me. This was before the days of cellphones too, so there was no way I could find them or catch up.

This makes no sense to me. As a parent, I can't wait for my kid to be old enough to ask to that so we can have the place to ourselves again.

A story from many, MANY summers past.

>Save up all summer long for a trip to Little Tokyo in San Fransisco.
>Have about 80 bucks.
>Go to the main plaza and find huge toy shop
>Find the holy grail. A Space Cruiser Yamato model kit.
>Also find A full set of JAKQ Microman style figures along with their Tank, a set of Ultra Brothers vinyls, and a couple of Popy diecasts.
>Decide to buy them all.
>Dad says "son don't spend all your money here. You still have a couple of other places to check out."
>Tell him I know, but these are good enough for me, besides, I'll still have a good bit left over (I won't tell you the year, but back then, 80 bucks was like 300, because this hobby was still niche, and stores weren't pricing for collectors. This stuff was a bit above standard Japanese retail).
>NOPE!
>Adamant that I not spend my money.
>Put stuff back.
>Make him promise to come back here if I don't find anything anywhere else.
>I promise son.
>Go to other shops
>By afternoon we've hit just about every place else.
>"Well Dad, I haven't really found anything else that I wanted I'd like to go back to the first shop and get the stuff I really liked>"
>"Aww son, I'm not dragging ass all the way back over there. They have racks of stuff here. Pick out what you want and lets go. I want to get lunch."
>Explain that there's nothing I at at this place, it's more expensive, and I REALLY want that Yamato model.
>Remind him he promised.
>"Tough shit. You either by something here, or don't buy anything at all and let's go!"
>Pissed off royally.
>Call him a liar
>get into fight.
>leave shop
>Get lunch
>All weekend long yell at each other.
>Get home
>'Don't you ever ask me to take you there again as long as you live.'
>80 bucks in pocket
>No Yamato model kit
>Years before the internet existed, so no mail order.
>To this day, still get a little angry because that cheap bastard cost me the one thing I really wanted, even though I've owned several Yamatos since.

Something similar happened to me

> have this small pirate ship playground in the backyard
> it was old and dirty but holy shit was it fun
> parents destroy without asking us so they can build a pool in the backyard
> we cry at first but we're a getting a pool in exchange so ok

>Open them up on the living room floor and start building.
>Dad stares confused.
>"Anon, why do you keep wanting these, they're all just the same plastic bits? What's the point?"
>"Dad, you're the one who bought it. Now come help me put these together, I wanna make them all into one big one"

I was a kid, around 6 years old. Pokemon had just started coming out, in card game and video game forms, toys, all that good stuff. Brother is 9, opens a magazine sealed in plastic and tries to steal a Pokemon card that was in it. He gets caught doing it by an employee of the store. Mom gets pissed, forbids us from getting anything Pokemon related, won't even allow us down any sections with anything Pokemon in them, because of what my brother did, for years. I was 15 before I was able to get and keep anything Pokemon related, all because of my older brother. To this day, no matter how silly the new generation might seem, I still buy the new games and a few toys from them, to make up for the lost opportunities of the past.
>>
This thread depresses the fuck out of me.
>Be of the age where parents don't believe i'm old enough to be a person
>Two younger sisters want to play with my stuff
>Adamantly disagree because I know they will break it/mess it up
>Parents force me to "share"
>It gets broken/deleted/destroyed
>"Well why did you let them play with it?"
With the vague wording of that alone it covers roughly 20+ experiences I went through from the ages 6-15

ok , on topic

>be me, age 9
>going to Toysrus to look for Ninja Turtle and Power Rangers toys
>Find the grail that is Lord Zedd. Just came out, only one there
> Figure is going to cost me all of my allowance
> Could buy 2 Ninja Turtles with that...
> Stupidly put Zedd down, instead of holding him while I go to look at the Ninja Turtle figures
> Go to Ninja Turtles section.
> Shit I have already, or garbage I don't want
> Go back to get my precious Lord Zedd
> FUCKING GONE

I'm sure I had some other bad childhood moments involving my toys, but I can't remember them. I had a great childhood.

Also there was the
>have bullshit game I didn't like

>"stop don't come back"
>also go to parents "If they erase my file on this game you have to promise they can never use my stuff again"
>they agree
>sisters succeed
>I didn't even like the game but all my shit was permanently mine
>Parents adhered to the deal too

When I was a kid, my mom would go shopping while I was at school, and she'd always bring me a little plastic animal or some such trinket, and set them up on my dresser, so I'd see them when I got home.
Also, I was sick a lot as a kid, and in the hospital a couple of times a year, and she's bring this old cowboy boot box we used to keep all the stuff in, and we'd spend hours going through the animals, and gum machine prizes, and assorted other tchotchkes, making up stories and shit.

Last time I saw her, I was in the hospital for an operation, and she brought the old beat up box with her. I was an adult by this time, but we had so much fun reliving our old tradition.

She died a week later from cancer.
