I'd look at one of the one of the powermaster primes coming out. You'll get a little dude that connects to a truck, a truck that turns into a robit, the robit that connects to his trailer for a super mode, and then another trailer armor that connects to it on top of that. Perfect Effect's got addons to the recent official PM Prime, THICC Hobby and Maketoys also have one in the oven. I guess Iron Factory has a legends one out already. Avoid XOVERGEN like the plague.

I would also look at grabbing Fansproject's Roadbuster/Roadbuster twins. They came with armor bits that could completely change the silhouette of the vehicle modes and bulk up the robot mode. You could probably find one of the twins for cheap without their armor, then buy Shadow Fisher's upgrade set which is just an imitation of the armor they come with but with a few upgrades.

Looks OK to me. It isn't 100% accurate but MT stuff is usually stylized, and the head has to actually fit away somewhere. I dunno, I'm cool with it. The G1 Seekers actually cheated a LOT to transform (the toys were huge partsformers and the cartoon models "morphed" a whole lot) so I can forgive divergences from the cartoon.

As long as it looks cool and actually holds together in both modes I'm fine with it. And being MT it should do both. Plus it has an ab crunch.

Everyone gets tripped up at the shoulders, but it's so easy that when you figure it out you're gonna hit your head against the wall.

Chances are what you're doing wrong is you're not pushing the black bar that the purple part raises up on, into place. I know thats what got me on mine.

Watch out for some of those 'net videos by the way. A lot of them do the backpack COMPLETELY WRONG, in a way that will break your fucking figure. You're supposed to completely unfold the wings from the pack, then slide it. If you do like a lot of those videos show with the backpack, just trying to slide it up/down without completely unfolding and unhooking all of the shit back there, you might end up destroying your figure.

The only real issue is there's some joints involved in transforming the ankles that on a lot of people's including mine were literally too tight to move out of the box so you basically have to be prepared to lubricate them if you ever want to trabsform it. I personally keep shock oil around for that reason so wasn't a huge problem for me. Otherwise, great figure. Alt modes are nothing to write home about really but that's standard IF procedure.

I thought their Not-Scourge looked pretty good. Laser Prime is the same mold generally so he should be fine. As a IDW design buyer, I am focusing on Iron Factory for playability and wide range of characters while I get G-Creation for beauty and shelf presence.

The rumors I've seen said it was a few MT and FP sculptors/engineers/whatever that went to form FH. But no proof, it's all hearsay anyway because most of the 3P shit is hearsay.

Its not so much getting burnt out on G1, its more like getting burnt out on the constant stream of the same particular G1 characters in a short period of time. It makes people more reluctant to try out a3P when they would rather wait for another 3P attempt or official release. Choice is a good thing, but it's probably breaking up profits as is.

Granted, I think the converse could happen with too much variety and no focus when doing other series.GF/Cybertron Starscream will sell because he's still recognizably starscream, and the design works as a general Cybertronian starscream, being based on the War Within design. Leaders like Optimal Optimus will fit into Prime collections. but of we get to the point where, say we get a few TF Prime figures like Knockout and Insecticon, BW like Silverbolt and transmetal Tarantulas, UT like Thunderblast and Sideways, etc. Some definately have crossover appeal, though, like Tidal Wave.

I, person all, would buy some one-off cool figures. But a lot of TF collectors don't collect like that, they want a set. So, unless a concise effort happens on a few given franchises, or they all fit in aesthetically with existing lines(which is a hard call, as older lines like BW are aging and 3Ps have better quality now than even the "golden era" of Transformers people consider the 08-2011 years to be.), I fear that we'll eventually get a bubble burst where some cool new non-G1 figure is released, and people don't bite because there's no other figures for the line being released.
