BeastBox toys meet those criteria. They're not as iconic as an action figure or model of a well known character but they're neat little things. Unique look, fun to pose, transforms into a sturdy cube.

Other than that you could always go for a lego set (everything from StarWars/Marvel to real life architecture) or if you want to go a little more retro you could get a few ZBots.

ZBots are small, 90s neon, and posable, perfect for decorating a desk or fiddling with. I've got a few and I love 'em. You're pretty much just limited to Ebay for them though but they're not very expensive.

Hol up a sec, I just fixed the loose arms on mine by just pushing in the metal pin a little bit.I used a the end of a pencil to push the metal pin that was holding the loose arm in place and it tightened up the joint. I didn't press hard and it didn't feel like the pin moved at all but the arm is no longer loose.

Try it out and let me know if it worked for you too.

Got mine in today, D09 (dog) and D10 (dio) ...clever.
Love those blueprint backdrops inside the box. That should be a poster.

I had to do some flash trimming, sprue nub sanding, and tightening of the floppy arms on both of them. I think the problem with the arms is that they are shoving a ribbed pin through the arm and into the socket, which widens the hole in the arm, leaving it to flop. A little future or super glue applied to the pin remedies it neatly.

The biggest issue was my D10 had one eye only 3/4 of the way painted. I can't be bothered to send a figure back to China, so I just repainted both eyes. At least my shitty painting job is consistent, if nothing else.

I love the idea behind them, but I'm slightly disappointed by what I got; I would have paid more for the same figures with slightly better QC. Regardless, I still adore them.

I agree with others that the quality could be a lot higher. I'd definitely be willing to pay more for it.
Like other people reported the arms can get very loose.
The design is great though and I'm still surprised by how expressive you can make such a small toy.

I could see myself buying one of the next models.

My pair showed up after a surprisingly short trip from china, and I'm just a little bit disappointed? The looseness everyone's mentioned is definitely a problem, but the lack of forward/backward ankle articulation doesn't do them any favors either. It's kind of weird how they tossed in two dedicated joints for side to side tilt when the hips don't even allow the legs to go far enough to use it.

They're beautiful though, it goes to show how far a good design can help an otherwise average toy out. I'm onboard for the new ones if they make some QC fixes.

The hips are on a sort of tube-encased ball joint, like on some gundam kits and transformers. You can pull it a few mm out to the side, and then get some lateral motion that way.

If you pull the hip joint out a bit, and it's too tight at the end of the socket tube so it snaps the ball joint back in deep, you can shave just a little bit off the sides of the gap running down the lower length of the socket tube, and it will slide out to the end and rest there snugly without snapping back in unless you want it to.

On an unmodified leg, you can see that the gap gets more narrow as it reaches the outside edge, meaning the tube gets tighter, forcing the ball to get sucked back in. We want it to pull out to the edge but not pop all the way out.

Sorry for the gruesome photo, but if you carve out a little rounded area for the ball to rest in, it works.

I tightened up the loose arms on mine by putting very small dab of super glue in the small hole where the arm connects to the body. I used a toothpick to make sure I only filled the small hole. The arm is tight now and you cannot see the tiny amount of glue.

Took D10 with me to a con recently, bad idea. The tab that locks the entire leg assembly into the body gave out and broke off, just from having it in my pocket, so be careful when carrying it around. It doesn't affect the look of it in either mode though, so it's not a huge deal.
