Im a little surprised DeSu isn't more popular. It's got the waifu angle of Persona and it's on a nintendo handheld and they're generally pretty good.

Maybe Persona is a little easier to grasp for most folks? The series even got an anime but I guess the games don't have that mass audience that Persona pulls. I had a bit of a time trying to adjust to the gameplay on it more than I had with mainline SMT and Persona.

Honestly, I think the character design and artstyle is a bit of a turn off. I haven't played DeSu, and I have no doubt it's good, but compared to the older SMT character designs and that soulless looking artstyle, it just doesn't look nearly as appealing

Generally, DeSu came off as less fun and more interesting, story wise, but it was less new-comer friendly. It was also really easy to hate a lot of the main characters.

DeSu 2 is more welcoming in it's story and was more popular, but it still doesn't really attract the Persona audience for some reason.

I think it's the eyes that bug me. The marks below his eyes put an emphasis on it that I'm not comfortable with. He looks less "hey look at me walking and turning my head 90 degrees to look at you with a weird look on my face"

It's definitely possible, but considering that A) they had an Orpheus prototype ready to go for years and B) they didn't release it even when Max Factory announced a figma of the P3 protagonist, I wouldn't count on it.

Yeah, that's probably not happening, short of getting very lucky on Mandarake. Even then, the shipping would push it over $80. For some perspective, the only one up there right now is going for 9000Y, and there aren't any on YJA. If you want a Jack Frost figure for under $80, though, there's a prize figure of him (bundled with Alice) that's roughly the same size as the Nendo and can be found for $30-40 pretty easily.

It's not a figma, the announcement plate that was in front of it was for the Pixie figma. It's a normal statue, and not under the figma line. Iirc it's pretty huge too.

Depends on the mod I guess. I've seen some threads have lite discussions on statues and people posted some basic pics as reference without repercussion. Mara is pretty big and but at least it's nice to see SMT getting something beyond Persona. I could only hope for more demon choices for articulated lines and maybe statues for certain characters

I hope GSC's approach for SMT is a mix of both though I'd imagine the "iconic" and popular demons would roll better chances for release. It would he a hell of a day if they touch on the more unusual designs like Baal Avatar in Nocturne or Mem Aleph's final form in Strange Journey.

I'd rather we get Figmas of the actual protags before another demon, assuming we get anything after Pixie. A reissue of a Nendo Jack Frost would be nice too.
