They're got three of the first guy made back in... I wanna say 2011? It's not super-modern by the new release standards but they're still pretty great.

My first rec that comes to mind is Figuarts Gaim Orange Arms, seeing as how he's about $30 anywhere you look. That being said, he doesn't look very bug-like, so Renewal Black and Renewal Black RX might be a bit more up your alley.

Kamen Rider Ichigou has a pretty good number of Figuarts, some are a little on the old side by now (considering how far they've come in recent years) but as far as I know they're not bad. Not particularly expensive either (especially the Sakurajima variant). There's also this >>6289556 prototype we saw semi-recently, so there'll be a cool new figure of him out one of these days. May be worth waiting for that if you want to.

As for a cool figure for someone unfamiliar with toku, I think you really can't go wrong with Abyss. He was my first Figuarts at a time I was still unfamiliar with the series (still haven't seen the show he's from, even a couple years later) but he's a sp[spectacular figure. Sculpt, articulation, accessories, paintjob, all excellent. And he goes for stupidly cheap for what a great figure it is. 100% recommended.

Ryuki and Dragredder are excellent, Ouja too. I (technically) have most of them, and none of the Ryuki SHFs are bad choices at all. The Genocider SHF is also really cool, but definitely not the kind of thing one buys on a whim, so I don't really know what to say. I definitely recommend it, but it is kinda prohibitively expensive.

Does Ouja really go for that much these days? Most of the listings on Manda are sold out, but show him in the 5000-6000 range. It's high, higher than he was a couple of years ago when I got him, but at least he's not Knight or Gai. Maybe just keep an eye out for one in the lower end of that range?

If you do go for the snake lord, a cheaper option than Genocider for Venosnaker would be one of those older Mirror Monster EX sets. Think he comes in 5. I don't have them or know how they blend with the SHFs, but they're a much cheaper option.

Personally I am waiting for SHFSS. If you are so concerned with Ouja's price that may be the best option. The price will be the same most likely, but at least you get a bump up in quality.

Another plus that come SHFSS, they will most likely now sell Venosnaker as a solo release. I imagine any Mirror Monster released come the Ryuki's introduction into SHFSS will be a solo rerelease if they were solo releases already since I doubt any of them will fit wholsesale into an SHFSS box. Good for people who don't want to take a huge hit all at once for Ryuki figuarts and for people who don't want to buy a whole Genocider for Venosnaker and EvilDiver.

Ouja is crazy popular. I remember watching a Ghost stage show on Youtube in which Ouja was brought back to life. Some adults started going crazy for the dude. The only thing to clarify about Ryuki and the SHFSS line is that it will take some time before it happens. However, it's very much a matter of "when" than "if".

To be fair, it took plenty of fiddling/balancing to get him to do that. Dragredd/blacker can support themselves just fine, but Venosnaker has a bigger and heavier head so getting him upright requires slightly more effort, and doing it so he could support a figure on top of that is a true balancing act. His joints aren't actually THAT strong.

Also must admit to some mild spoofery. Apparently this is a common problem with SHG Genocider, but the sword vent doesn't really plug into the tail securely. You basically just have to have it resting on the ground where the tail ends up.

It's really a pity because everything else looks great. It's just how tall and narrow the head is compared to how his other sculpts of Heart are that weirds me out. He also has a more human face here compared to the more skeletal grimace he usually sports. It sucks because he's my fav character in Drive... and Takeya's my fav creature designer. Thanks for the responses.
I emailed HLJ with a description and the missing accessories, along with pictures showing the fault and the sealed box.
I was told that due to the pack being sold out and discontinued I couldn't receive a replacement, but could either opt for a return with full refund or a 20% store credit refund and keep the toys.
I went for the 20% and decided it was now safe to open the box, then discovered both the gashat and handle were underneath Snipe's shoulders.
So panic over I guess.
