But digimon has always been very mature,. It always dealt with difficult problems at eye level with it's audience.

Things like leadership, collaboration, being lost, dealing with step siblings and divorce and even death as well as the fact that the mcguffns were literally virtues.

Appmon just seems very aimed down comparatively. Like it's aimed at the 5-6 crowd instead of the 10-11s.

Then again I only just got to episode 9 and they're barely hinting at the main plot still,. So im hoping it amps up a little

As for the toys, I really liked the recent high level ones that have proper humanoid proportions. The size and articulation feels right compared to the big headed early levels.

I think first batch was Trunks, SSJ3 Gohan (why?), that masked Bardock, and Goku Black. Maybe there were more, I guess Blues Vegeta and Goku too. Not the 66. If Bandai decreed those to be P-Bandai, Mega Armor doesn't have a chance. Do you know what's really strange? These guys are fairly compatible with those short lived Transformers Contruct Bots everyone used to compare to bionicles. Same sized ball joints, and they use similar peg sizes for the torsos and such.

Well...proportions can be a big deal. It's basically the entire premise of the SHFSS line, that the proportions are super realistic. That said, I don't know if I agree with their assertion here...the proportions on that Agumon especially look like trash.

As for the rest of your post, that's the problem with Bandai right now in general. They're making all these big moves that are like...sink or swim. Instead of making moderately priced and less premium toys once in a while, they bank everything on expensive new lines that usually tank after a few releases.

There's actually pre-orders for the newer versions of the gen 1 digivices up, but it's Premium Bandai, so you'll have to go through an intermediary. The Wargreymon orange one is sadly only part of an expensive set with the transforming toy for about 200, but you can get the Metalgarurumon blue on it's own for about 100.

The whole set is well worth the money. The stand lights up in every crests colors, and plays Brave Heart, the figure is really damn nice looking. The Digivice itself is updated from the original in both design and game wise. Has some new animations for Agumon, has dark evolutions for Agumon, and has the full cast beyond that like the previous ones, and has two new Digimon Zubamon and Meicoomon. The price is high, but these are sold as collector items, they're aimed at adult fans.

You could also get the blue digivice which doesn't include the figure and stand, it's $80-$100 depending on where you buy it. It has new animations for Gabumon, plush his dark evolutions and has Zubamon and Meicoomon.

If you want the figure without that extra stuff, it's getting a normal release. You can get it at a discount on hlj.com. They always sell things a bit cheaper. Or even amiami.

I just found my toy of this guy: the 1999 Bandai Metallic gold Armor Digivolving Wargreymon but its missing some pieces.

So my digivice showed up today. Thing is pretty damn cool. Has all the partner Digimon's evolutions including everyone's mega levels and Omegamon. Each Digimon has a few different lines including saying their partner's name and attack. I'm happy with my pick up.

It is a bit pricey but I managed to find one for a decent deal. It was a similar price to used 15th ver and original versions of the game so I figured if I'm going to spend that much on a digivice I may as well go all out.

It also lights up in each child's crest color and even is half orange half blue for Omegamon. Very cool prop toy if you're into those. I personally am a sucker for them. I've got a two lightsabers, the Legacy Power Morpher and I have Star Lord's helmet on pre-order. I've got a few of these types of things lol.

Is the appmon cartoon doing well? I watched a few clips yesterday and it looks crappy. Longest digivolution sequences I can remember, the guy with the musician appmon is obnoxious and cringey, the voice during digivolutions is grating, the digimon textures look afwully "busy" with the words and numbers covering them, and the humanoid designs suffer from the stylized proportions.

So I got Figuarts Omegamon and Wargreymon in. Love them. Omegamon in particular is really nice. He's got some stiff joints especially is ankles so I'll need to do the hot water trick on him. I love the little Tai and Matt shoulder bits.

There were first the D-Arts series, which the MetalGarurumon originally belonged to and does have older metallic versions of Omegamon and WarGreymon that are based on the appearance of the original Bandai art like pic related.

The two figures you have are later releases in the S.H.Figuarts line that are based on the Our War Game! movie (aka part 1 of the dubbed Digimon movie) that have matte color and anime proportions for this reason.
