Mindwipe obviously. The guy is a bat who has mind control powers and actively tries to practice occult magic.

Also damn it was hard to get a decent pic of the guy. His head kept casting shadows over his eyes.

I'm really late to this, but I'm starting to get real annoyed with Hasbro's box art for TR.

The worst offender so far is the speed set. Sure, Fastlane, Rodimus, and Quickswitch look alright (getting to the helmet in a bit), but Laser Prime seems to be based off the original G2 Prime rather than the TR toy, and Nautica is a fusion of her MTMTE appearance and the Blurr mold. Both Laser and Nautica are wrong, yet they still went with that knowing full well what they'd look like.

The back of the package has Quickswtich sporting a new helmet the toy doesn't have (was it too hard to swap it with Sixshots when it's the one he has?).

Since getting into Beast Wars 2, I have bought some stuff I have been avoiding like a plague since I was a kid. Surprisingly I got no regrets buying this Sonokong Magnaboss. I haven't seen any GPS on Skywarp at all yet...the plastic is brown and quite dense from how I'm actually feeling it and they have more paint so I guess that's a plus.

I got this set MISB for cheap from an Ebay seller that sells BW2/Neo stuff.

they don't care anymore man. as long they look at the box art and see roughly the same characters as the toys in the box, they'll greenlight that shit and send it to stores. besides, the speed and other set (or any exclusive sets for that matter) basically only exist to grab cash from rich kids who can afford them.

compare CW/TR boxarts with older CHUG box arts. you can tell that the guy in the picture is almost precisely what you'll get.

Really most of the Transmetal 2s are creepy, but Scourge in particular has a quiet menace to him. He's not really going out of his way to be uglier or grosser than he should, he just looks intimidating with his lack of a mouth and two sets of eyes popping out the black of his head. The digitigrade legs make me think of some sort of demon, and the locust head slacked on the shoulder like a pauldron make me think of some sort of demon general. He almost looks like a wayne Barlowe illustration.

Sure, but at least thin feet without ankle tilts aren't as jarring as thick feet. Considering he also has to have real tires for ankles they probably figured it wouldn't have been worth the effort and possible stability issues to fit an ankle joint in on top of the tire.

They still could have at least made the toe turn, though.

Was there some kind of really stupid packing ratio with mindwipe? I was at a walmart and a TRU last week and between the two stores for TR deluxes they had a wolfwire and about a dozen mindwipes.

As if the prices didn't make being a canadian collector suffering enough, we also, at least in my area, get such a wonderful wide assortment.

You don't really realize just how big shipments are until you see an entire unsold stock of a toy taking up an entire shelf next to what remains of the popular toys.

Picked up a Highbrow and a Rodimus recently, and they don't seem to have the QC problems that the earlier shipments had. Highbrow's neck is nice and tight, and Rodimus' joints and neck aren't loose. Will there be an unpainted reissue? Or at least a V.2 that's less of a fucking mess? I was so hype for him.

Nice.

Although the shitposter might be right, Hasbro could probably shit out an unpainted version, and that would probably fix all of the problems with it, because all of the problems outside of some parts being too tight, are paint related. It's just not a thing with a transformation that is conductive to being slathered in paint like Skullbobo's wet dreams.

Takara Kup looks sweet, I don't even care if his colors are accurate or not when they look so good.

Hot Rod... is a mixed bag. I like his colors and mold changes, but the clear plastic chest is a huge minus, since it's going to start chipping at the sides when you transform him. It also looks like his part of his legs are painted black so that's also an issue since car bits tab into them.
>>
>>6276578
What is up with both companies and their maddening urge to slather paint all over the toys?
>>
>>6276680
I don't really mind them using paint, it's just bad when they paint areas that tab into other parts, so it will chip with time (Hasbro actually did a good job with their Hot Rod in that regard).

It's harder to tell what's painted on Kup, but it probably won't be an issue from what I've seen so far, but Hot Rod? Definitely.

Why haven't I seen any Weirdwolf from Wave2 in the main stores(Walmart/Target/TRU) anywhere? I literally found this guy next to a Quake at a Walgreens.
>>
>>6276805
Why is it that people are always finding newer stuff at Walgreens of all fucking places? And this phenomena stretches across the Marvel legends and the World of Nintendo lines too. How much money is Walgreens giving to these toy manufacturers?
>>
>>6276802
I tried.

But knees are held by pins. Not much one can do with pin if it is loose in the first place.
I ended coating the 2 whole knees with nail polish. But they gave it away as soon as you start to scrapping of the polish when moving the toy.
Had the same experience with TR Sentinel though with better result as the knees on Sentinel have much more surface area.
>>
>>6276821
huh. wonder if that floor stuff would have been better. I could see the nail polish just chipping off after a few tries.

No one goes to Walgreen's for toys, so when they get a case, they usually immediately put them on the shelves, whereas Target and Walmart just have boxes of Hasbro shit sitting on a pallet somewhere in the warehouse doing nothing.

I picked up brainstorm a couple weeks ago from there as well. The downside is that they sell Deluxe for around 19 bucks.
>>
>>6276817
Odds are it's where they keep smaller stock so they don't get clogged with shelf warmers as bad as other places do.

I wish MP Shockwave's hips were done the same way as MP10, where the hip skirt isn't actually articulated, but the entire hips are designed so that the hip skirt doesn't interfere with the legs' movement. If anyone gets what I mean.

I like MP Shockwave but the little flaps that make up his hip skirt just look weird when you have to open them.

MP Cheetor takes a lot of work, more than any other MP so far, but when he's done he's pretty fun. Out of the box his beast mode is a stiff brick but they at least gave his legs plenty of screws instead of pins.

There can be no actual discussion over the new MP because of TAKARAKEK HASFAG shit. It happens more or less with every iffy release, since damn near every single one has the same issues of paint scrape and clearance issues but while anecdotes are always argued to a certain extant this one got exasperated by years of wants and expectations and multiple high priced third party releases.

Ah, and this is why we filter certain opinions anon, read some and not acknowledge the others, half of them are just dicks trying to start unnecessary shit anyway.

Like it or not every release under hastak will be iffy, and considering the prices some are worthy of a bitch (I own both current mp coneheads and yeah...something is going on at the factories) while others we should accept considering the price (such as minimal paint apps and looseness on titan returns toys because they're TOYS made for a larger market, while worse than previous years it'll only get worse at times and cost rise...)

If one wants to go third party they can, I won't advocate it but only because the only 3p's I like are ones without official mp's, we live in a world of choice, and for megatron fans its a great time to be alive, hell we're still waiting on boldforms and their triple changer take

Eh I'm biased anyway in that I'd buy any g1 Megatron toy. Mine has no scrapes but I sanded down the back part that's been scraping people's helmets and I don't plan on ever using the silencer. There's rub on some of bits that form the top part of the gun though for sure and his scope is going to get looser over time so you want to avoid taking that off ever.

Purely speaking on the mold though there's a lot of bs being thrown around. He's the polar opposite of finicky. He is the stiffest MP to date so all his little steps aren't really a pain in the ass at all like mp9 was. He also has great articulation and you can get him in to any pose you'd want.

I just want my prime to tackle someone of equal stance.

Didn't know about the back of the helmet, though there is a guide on tfw that can treat the silencer issue (pull it apart, sand the inside as there is a PAINTED section with a ridge that you can feel is a tad high, leaves the connection slightly looser but no scrape and still secure) but suit yourself, few people would...want to transform him too much for good reason.

I head his joints and so forth are amazing, so far the issues I'm aware of is paint rub, clearance (which leads to paint rub) and the occasional accessory bungle (ie 2 laughing faces), I even read someone refering him to as a figma megatron which is comical but accurate considering how expressive he is.

>He is the stiffest MP to date so all his little steps aren't really a pain in the ass at all like mp9 was
Bit of a low blow there, mp09 was a failure well beyond what he should of been and should of been recalled.

I would kill for a proper rodimus prime update and all we get is Johnny Bravo, still good but not what I wanted

While the aesthetic change is a bit jarring the engineering is rock solid, I give takara and their designers a round of applause, each release (barring qc issues and prolonged retools ie seekers) has been getting better and better.

I don't think it would be wise to paint mp wheeljack, sure he'd look better, but I have issues with the clearances, that and he'll be a anime+ redeco meaning no more spiffy metallic faceplate.

I like mp09's design and what he does, its the qc and the current after market pricing that puts me off him, can't go below $200aud and for his age not worth it

>>
>>6277080
The first season is essentially the "g1" of beast wars, its iconic to say the least since it was alot of first.

To get transmetals and so forth means

>bw mp's are popular
>the g1 roster is running low
>takara wants more money

Just keep the support up and who knows, frankly I myself only care for season 1 with only a few picks of the final season (namely optimal optimus and his 3p does the job just fine)

why bother with beastformers when they still have relatively famous G1 season 1 characters that they haven't done yet and could be done much more easily? No need to be salty my fellow geewunner, some variation in the line is never a bad thing, especially if they can learn a thing or 2 before trying more complicated offerings.

Last I heard some sort of issue with lamborgini not liking the hood splitting, that and getting him to scale with his buddy sideswipe may be difficult giving the proportions, and don't use 3p as an example, takara has their own design aesthetic, the others you mentioned are quite feasible and I sense hound/jazz could come sooner than we expect.

>triple changers
Considering mp36 has (slight) back kibble I don't see the triple changers going too well just yet, those guys would be far from easy

I'm not a fan of 3P myself, despite some people arguing that a lot of them are "better" than official releases. I own MP lambor and have no issues with it, so if they do make him i think he would turn out fine.

None I'm aware of, infact its a word of mouth, in a way it would make sense considering its a prestigious car manufacturer that simply wants the designers to respect them.

I dream for a mp astrotrain, one where all modes objectively look good, there is one I'm keen on but the robot mode got the shaft while the alt modes are fucking beautiful.

I understand that lamborghini wants takara's designers to respect their car, but hood-splitting IMO isn't disrespectful at all. rather, i feel they should feel privileged that Takara chose their company instead of many other well-regarded manufacturers at the time, and decide to market product in a way that gives it a heroic and "cool" image. i mean, we could have gotten a ferrari testarosa sideswipe for all i care.

of course, i do understand where most early G1 toys come from, but still.

/co/mrade here, i have a shoe box full of Venom action figures with white or blue paint washes because "that's how Venom looks in the comics" Yeah, because for that moment in the comic, Venom was standing under a light. He moves, the light changes, and so does the reflection. The action figure might move, but the painted on reflection does not and that's why Eddie is in a shoe box instead of on a shelf fighting Web Head
>>
>>6277505
you know, i could be an asshole and just say some things along the lines of "fuck off back to /co/ retard" or some shit like that. but really, you do have a point in which the characters depicted in the comics move along with the lighting which is constantly changing, and thus the so-called "comic style" paint job won't be applicable in real life situations when done on toys. but toys do not move, and the lighting on your display cabinet does not move. as long as you have the toy displayed in the corresponding light conditions (which generally means one or two light sources from above, and is the one thing most people who paint these kind of styles pay most attention to) the toy won't look awkward. case-in-point, the picture you're referring to. so there's really not a whole lot to worry about. you may just have done things wrong.

TL;DR go back to /co/
