everytime i look at my collection I can't help but admire it: its a collection of figma and figuarts figures and a few stiff, regid dr who figures.
However something that I can't help but think everytime I glance at it, is that I really really desire more mgs and silent hill.

Most of my collection is various armored/masked guys and maybe a few monsters but it would be so dam cool to have a silent hill protagonist and Robbie the rabbit. I wander if they could capture James Sunderland's vacant kind of drained look, would be so nice to own. I have such a strong affection for that series and I just wanted to let it out.
Any chance of figma ever doing anything else with Konami? I guess it wouldn't happen unless something new was happening with one of their ips.

just assembled LA001, the m4a1. there's a lot more cons than pros in my opinion, so if you're on the fence, i can't really recommend it.

+ part separation and sculpting. both of these are on point, the level of molded detail is impressive
+ sheer amount of stuff you get. two stocks, carry handle, forward grip, laser/flash module, scope/reflex sight, a removeable magazine, and a spare mag to hold. not to mention night vision goggles. the amount of plastic they included is a boon

- size. i know figmas are non-scale, but aren't madokas on the smaller end of the line? the rifle feels like it's about 10-15% smaller than it should be. i don't have any real firearm experience, but the deagle homura comes with feels beefier and at a better size
- fragility. the part fit is a lot looser compared to my previous little armory kit (m202 flash) and plastic cement will absolutely be required
- rail system. getting the forward grip and carry handle on the rails is frustrating, and can be knocked off with the slightest of taps
- stock. the peg on the two stocks are so nubby that a solid connection with the rifle seems impossible. the thing can get flicked off like nothing, and gluing isn't feasible because it would make swapping between the two impossible
- night vision goggles. maybe tomytec has their own line of figures, but i have no idea how to put them on a figma's face

They are pretty similar. Both have the pull out shoulders, both have the new wrist joints, both have fairly similar articulation. The differences come in the design and the accessories.

You can head swap them pretty easily as well if you want purple haired Motoko to have a black combat suit. Blue haired Motoko looks a LITTLE weird on the other body but not bad or anything.

As a big fan of the weapon design in GITS I would say to get both just based on that alone. Why not get more weapons from that universe?

The SAC major does NOT have pull out shoulder joints, it is one the biggest knocks against it. It's pretty much impossible for her to have both hands on the pistol because of that. She has interchangeable breasts that are supposed to help her get the arms closer together to counter the lack of telescoping joints but in reality they make pretty much no difference.

They're both good. Arise is better as fats as articulation. Pull out shoulders and a double ball neck joint.

As oethers have said; arise's holster strap gets in the way but it's not enough to butte me.

SAC's neck and shoulders don't have as much range but se has toe joints and no holster strap to get in the way. But she also doesn't have a holster.

I do like the shiney finish on SAC's outfit tho

It's sad how he gave up when he lost all his notes, stories and art in some accident. He gave up on making manga and his art took a huge hit in quality as he moved over to digital but never really understood how to work in the medium well. He's a bit better now but you can still see he's demotivated from making anything serious and it's all just perverted throwaway art because he doesn't want to spend years of his life making more serious work anymore.

If you like art sort of stuff and/or a decent slice of life show, I'd recommend checking it out. S1 is a bit slow but it really picks up once S2 begins.

Wish it would get another season but with the death of Miyu Matsuki (Yoshinoya), it seems unlikely at this point. Maybe once the manga concludes they'll try.

Nothing that's being done today in terms of sculpt, likeness or quality of face decals is causing the prices to go up to $60-70+. Those are just things they HAD to improve to justify the cost increases that were solely the result of rising costs due to excessive yen printing, Chinese economy strengthening, etc.

If you got rid of all the global economic factors out of Japanese toy manufacturers control then current figma would still be in that $30-40 price point right now.

Sakura school version is a nice figma, I have her too. It's only drawback is it doesn't have a wand so you can't post her in capturing cards poses/scenarios. Get her 1st OP costume figma to get a wand for her(it has 2), I think the school version is meant as a supplement to her first figma. Have you tried measuring it? Kit is supposed to be 1/12 scale. Haven't measured any of mine but they all seem roughly consistent with one another. Everything feels weird in the hands of small anime girls though.

He's pretty good despite all the naysayers angry they didn't get a highly reflective promo paint job that literally no figma in the history of the line has managed to deliver on. In person the paint job is between metallic and flat, looks very much like the artwork. Allows all the blue accents and whatnot to pop and blend much better. The whole reason I skipped the Chogokin is because that chrome look is totally inaccurate (though nice looking) and drowns out all the smaller details.

The faces are what you'd expect, typical figma quality. The articulation is limited in a few spots but you can go watch video reviews to see if that bothers you. Don't expect double jointed range because the elbow and knee pads hinder the movement by cupping around the figma joint. Shoulders have really nice butterfly-like range but can't move super far outwards just due to the sheer bulk of his pads. They can rotate fine of course.

I'm happy for the most part. If you love the character or his design you will probably be happy. Just know he isn't the most posable figma ever released and he's sorta expensive though you do get a lot for the money since he went up for PO before the massive price hikes the line has been hit by recently. Under today's prices he'd of probably been a good $20-30 higher.

Ninja Slayer is actually my first figma alongside Kaiji. Do I just need to be slow and gentle, or should I go so far as to warming him up with a hair dryer every time I want to pose him? It gets pretty fucking cold at night too.

Took out Fubuki from her box after leaving her there for almost a year and there was a small spiderweb inside her skirt.

5k on Manda is not bad for figmas these days. She actually comes with a decent amount of plastic due to the boat parts on the back, thighs, feet, and the gun.

BUT, they are releasing a new one based on the in game illustration for Fubuki. I'm not sure if it's a totally new mold though.

Are the faces for the Haruhi figmas interchangeable between the Haruhis, Nagatos, and Mikurus? Are all faces for all Haruhis able to fit on each other?

For 70 it's not great but when I got her off preorder she can cover decent rifle poses due to the 2.0 arms, others used her for headswaps, and other possible reasons next to another GiTS figma.

No because that is not the 'current listing', that's a listing for a totally different item to the P3 Samus figma. The P3 Samus figma will have it's own independent listing and when it goes online, nothing will happen to the Other M listing (unless it gets restocked or something). In any case, I don't think you'll need a figinstock for the new Samus anyways. Maxfactory's been pretty good with not selling out on preorders a second after they go up.

To be honest I'm not expecting a figma to happen soon, at least not until Fate/Apocrypha. Saddening, even though I've been waiting for that series.
