The new AGP Sonico's bike makes me want to get one of those biker Miku figma to pair with it, or even both (already have cycler).
EV Mirai 2014 has this somewhat cyber-dystopian feel to it, so I might even want 2 bikes, one for standard looks and the other to give a color scheme more like Miku's or akin to D.Va's Scavenger skin.

How literal do you want it?

Less literally, but still applicable there's what anon mentioned above (but it doesn't really apply to EV Mirai Miku 2014) and:

Things that come close are the Vivireds, Racing Miku 2016 and Symphogear's Hibiki I suppose.

That's usually the case with figures with this kind of paint job. Most reviewers and sites blast figures with light because that's just what they do for everything but it works terribly on stuff meant to be displayed in more natural light or artistic light.

I really liked KLK and Ryuko's character and design.

How is her figma? I noticed they're doing a rerun of it and it's up for pre order.

I'm a bit hesitant to get one, though. I'm currently in college and living at home to save money, so you may be able to guess why. This would be the first, well, revealing figure I would get. Like I said, I want it because I liked the show.

That is not a conversation I'd want to have with my family if they were to see it. If I did get it, I'd probably keep it in the box until I get out of college and get my own place. But still, I'd feel kind of worried someone would come across the box. And if I waited until I had my own place, it would probably be a lot more expensive to get.

Ryuko was my first "risqué" figure, only other being Satsuki. I was on the fence too for the same reason before I bought it, but I knew it'd go up in price if I didn't jump on it.

Depends what you consider "scalper" since I've seen Vamp usually go for dirt cheap when I started searching and Sunred going for above 5k or so preowned.

Sunred himself is an interesting figma seeing they opted for cloth for his pants and shirt but he poses pretty decently in it. My only gripe with him of the one I have is the fact if one of his legs came off, getting it back into positon was an annoying process due to the pants. Otherwise I enjoyed him and the accessory choices feel ideal for having a laid back character to just lounge around.

HLJ doesn't deliver stuff themselves, they usually send via ems, ups, fedex or whatever shipping method they have/one you choose. So when the package arrives, it'll probably be from someone in a uniform.

Been using AmiAmi every single month since late 2009 and there were the undisputed go-to shop if you wanted boxes in near mint condition with remarkable consistency. It was the reason you happily paid more in shipping to get mountains of paper that protected your stuff even in the worst cases of abuse. Somewhere along the way they've lost their consistency and my last three shipments have been consistently poorly packed. All the paper has been at the top where it's useless instead of at the sides where it matters most. Paper at the top just makes it more costly while offering minimal protection.

In comparison HLJ uses either air pillows or shrink wrap attached to a glued down piece of cardboard. Both of these options lower shipping costs while offering fairly decent protection and HLJ has discounted EMS rates so that helps too. Sometimes HLJ packs things poorly as well but you're paying so much less that it's an acceptable risk. Especially with their friendly cancellation policy, great customer service and the private warehouse which is a totally superior combination system.

It's actually kind of depressing seeing AmiAmi become a shadow of it's former self. The one clear advantage they still had -excellent padding- is now gone. They don't even have the best pre-order pricing anymore, some of the recent stuff like that AGP Sonico, SHF Skull and many others were 500+ yen higher at AmiAmi. Add in shipping being higher and HLJ is 1000-1500+ cheaper on some of these items and 500-ish yen cheaper on anything equally priced which is almost everything else except figma. All I can say is i'm happy I only have two more orders with AmiAmi and all the rest are at HLJ now.

Single part pelvis and midsection. The two thigh flair outs are just held in by peg so you can take them off if you don't mind the holes. In terms of size noticeably rounder than the archetypes and new Kusanagi but not huge.

Rem and Ram are up on the GSC shop. They're cheaper than I thought they'd be, 5,471 each.

So this was a new one. Received my AmiAmi payment notification earlier this week. Today was the due date and when I went to pay the order was already cancelled.
Has this happened to anyone else? AmiAmi used to have very flexible due dates. Payment due notice, then a follow up notice followed by a reminder if you hadn't paid by then.
I guess to many people have been not paying. First time this has happened to me.

Happened to me recently as well. Until I read your post I assumed it only happened because they were nice enough to combine stuff from February with my March order due to the Femto delay. Basically I had an issue with another shop that fucked me over financially, asked them to split my order so I could pay for most of it on time and they canceled the other part of the order on the EXACT DAY the payment was due. The payment reminders I got were before the due date even arrived. Looks like the "pay by this date" thing is very strict now and if you don't they will cancel it immediately.

If you e-mail them in advance before the due date they may give some extra leeway but who knows.

Because that would be a new mold subject to new factory prices. Even if they raise the price on this re-release a smidgen it's still going to be $20-30 cheaper than a brand new figure would be. These re-releases exist for one reason...to cash in on demand for older figures and give them a steady stream of income because they can price these much lower than modern figma which are in the $70-90+ range now.

No. It's about keeping the brand relevant and increasing profit margins because they are DYING as a company. They're literally flailing about in a death spasm desperately trying to find a way to survive in today's market. If things weren't bad they would have stuck to the strategy that worked for 7 years prior. There would be no reason to reissue anything at lower prices and waste factory time which is a FINITE resource. There would also be no reason to cater to the ultra premium high end market with figures like Gilgamesh, Femto DX, Void, Iron Fossil and Mara (40k yen figure).

Sales are way down dude. Did you not see all the amazing figures in 2016 that ended up in bargain bins despite being great releases? Americans just didn't feel the pain until the exchange rate started to drop a bit. Everyone else was cutting way way back.

It definitely doesn't look awful, but the gold doesn't look that nice in comparison to what we should've got (not talking about the promo images because they're photoshopped to hell, but how the figure always looked like vs. mass-produced copies).

When the figure is at a premium price-point and you aren't getting that quality, yeah.

Villains aren't popular in Japan despite being some of the coolest designs. Blame Japan for refusing to buy villains. Their main market was Japan at the time. Not releasing other mains was bullshit though.
