Are there any other figures of Scarjo as Major? I don't like the way they made the face with this one.

Also, has any toy company made a Batou movie version apart from the pop vinyl?

No, not yet.

I think they had a tachikoma on display in the lobby of Hanka's corporate headquarters. It was a quick shot.

Okay yeah.. it took them years upon years to get Harrison Ford 95% accurate (Sideshow's Temple of Doom is the best Harrison Ford sculpt ever made).

there are so many cool designs in this IP and the only thing that ever gets made is major or maybe a tachikoma. Whats the chance of say one of those geisha robots being made into a figma? I think figma only does American comic movie figures? I can't recall them making figures of any other movie.

>>
>>6264327
Is this Warhammer?
>>
>>6264721
Dear God, who is he supposed to be?
>>
>>6265704
Gimpy Joe.
He's a good hearted, yet simple farm boy who lost his family during a walker overrun.

He helps the group by finding supplies, which are mostly trinkets and useless knick-knacks. He's the one they send ahead to attract, and lure walkers away from the group.
>>
>>6265180
Seriously why can't anyone just make toys of the Vault Hunters? They're the only ones in the games I'd be remotely interested in. I'd buy the hell out of a Salvador
>>
>>6265704
Some dude from the walking dead. This was mcfarlane's first try. They've gotten way better at making toys, at least better than they were. Pic related is a more recent attempt at that character.

As someone who bought almost everything they put out in the early 2000's, mcfarlane toys fall from grace was really hard to watch.
>>
>>6266041
It was a Daryl figure with almost no articulation, posed firing the crossbow. At the last minute they decided to add joints. That was the result.
>>
>>6264009

There's this. Hossein Diba does some of the best head sculpts I've ever seen. I have no idea how you order one though. The website that sells them is entirely in Japanese.

>>

>white washing
Americanization. Never use their shitty mis-use of the English language. Whitewashing is sanitizing material. Casting Americans in an English adaptation of a Japanese property is an Americanization of said property. No one said "Whitewashing" with Tom Cruise and All You Need is Kill.. aka Edge of Tomorrow (aka Live.Die. Repeat.)
>>
apparently the movie bombed, thanks alot essjews
>>
>>6266825
That's because Edge of Tomorrow made up its own characters and it even made up its own title. This wasn't the case for GITS where it actually used the same characters from its source material, names/title and all. Whitewashing existed even before SJWs and yes, this counts as whitewashing. The key thing here is that it wouldn't have been whitewashing if Major stayed as their own OC called "Mira Killian" except they had to shove in a backstory detailing that she was actually Motoko Kusanagi.

If this was a proper Amercanization of the original Japanese property, a simple way of doing it would have been setting it in America, with everyone else being portrayed by mostly non-Asian actors with new names. That said, it's rather pointless to cause a stink over whitewashing for this when you consider how it has a lot of Asian actors alongside the fact that they make an in-universe reasoning for it and how it still fits with the GITS universe. Doesn't change the fact it's still whitewashing though, made even worse by the stupid idea of acknowledging the character's original ethnicity.

If anything, they didn't have to justify that shit and they should have just played it straight like Edge of Tomorrow, but instead they even bothered to give an in-universe backstory for the whitewashing. Even more hilarious is how they completely missed the point behind the alias of "Motoko Kusanagi", in which it's the equivalent of naming someone as "Jane Excalibur".

>>6266849
The movie bombed because the story was an unimaginative rehash of the Robocop reboot (not terrible just really mediocre).
>>
>>6266849
It's done $60 million worldwide after first weekend. Hopefully does more by next
>>
>>6264009

I wish they'd do more manga/artwork inspired ones. I still have the two statues of her in the white coat and her in the red diving suit. They look just like the comic panels they come from.

>>
>>6267016
Would definitely love it if some third party company did.

I know that the movie mainly borrows its looks from the Oshii film, but I thought movie Major actually emulated the Arise version a lot better, and the fact that she can pull off the red outfit rather convincingly makes me want this version even more.

Some information from anyone of contacting some 3rd party company or something to make this?

It's obviously a fake / generic name, which means the Major's true identity is unknown to her closest associates. Which is why they call her "the Major" - it's an acknowledgement of something they know is real about her, her military rank.
>>
>>6267408
I seem to recall that in the end of SAC 2nd Gig she admitted that she didn't know her original name when talking with Kuze, that the accident in which she and Kuze were the survivors from left her with amnesia or something. Or did I mishear/misinterpret that)
>>
>>6267498

She doesn't know her original name because she's been swapping bodies and aliases for so long that she forgot it. It's part of the whole transhumanist cyborg dilemma theme.

>>
>>6272356
Under normal circumstances a reissue is unlikely since Arise has ended, but with the release of the live action movie (and recent announcements of long OOP figures like Ryuko), I'd venture a guess that Max Factory will get around to that version eventually to cash in on the hype.
>>
>>6267616
You're gonna sound like one of those old people who calls and complains every time an airplane flies over their house. Whomever you could possibly speak to, likely customer service or social media pr, is just gonna tell you that they'll pass on your suggestion and hang up. End of story. This movie didn't do well enough for expensive toys to be made of all the different outfits.

Looks cool but that outfit is going to crumble eventually if you keep changing her pose.

I have a RAH stormtrooper from 2005 and his "leather" holster is literally falling apart from the blaster being taken out and put back in over and over.
>>
>>6278850
Once i've settled on a pose I'll probably keep her that way for a decent amount of time so I'm not too concerned with the fabric deteriorating. I have a couple of RAH's and they've held up quite well over the years, although to be fair I've never got great poses out of either of them. But this Motoko will be the first hot toys tier figure (in terms of price) that I'll be acquiring so I kinda wanted to make sure its worth the money before I bite the bullet
