One of the great sci-fantasy and concept artists of our time, my friend!
https://waynebarlowe.wordpress.com/artwork/hell/
>>6258294
Okay that's enough of that.
>>6258287
He did the creature designs for the film adaptations of Hellboy, Pacific Rim, [spoiler]and Avatar[/toy/canthas], and is perhaps most-famous for his original works, such as Expedition: Being an Account in Words and Artwork of the 2358 A.D. Voyage to Darwin IV.

He is also responsible for the original concepts used in the Power Lords toyline, since revived by Four Horsemen,
And now we can own his gallery work in glorious poseable 1/6 3D glory!

Looks like random concept art for movies.

I liked the darwin IV mockumentry, but this still looks like generic war-hammer fantasy fodder.

his most impressive stuff is his Hell series which that figure is based off of.
>>6258492
...which consists of both an artbook, Barlowe's Inferno, and a novel, God's Demon.
1/6th always tempting me but I don't eant to pay $300 for a single figure. Maybe just this once... wait, this is $849.99!
That price is just full retard. Its a magnificent work of art, but at that point its reached levels even hot Toys would consider insane. at least $850 will net you a giant vehicle from Hot Toys. I get a lot of factors go into pricing, niche appeal, paintwork, etc, but come on.

You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed.

You're probably seeing it as such precisely because he's done so much work in Hollywood and the printed sci-fi community before that, on top of other pop cultural detritus, that some of his designs you may not even know as such have become iconic, and his style has become so influential it's one of those things everyone ELSE cribs off of.
>>6258984
A-at least the 'plain' set is only $669.99!...
>>6259586
I do wonder whether that art book and however big is that art print that are included aren't doing something fucky with the prices, though.
I love how BBTS always has such nice big pictures of their products.
I've been holding out on these Sixth Scale figures for quite some time but this is just too tempting. Luckily that price tag would never do it for me. Literally ridiculous.
Barlowe's Hell action figures? What the fuck, what timeline is this?
>>6258276
>Does many amazing designs
>They do a generic skull knight
Shame

Yeah, I'm not spending $700+ on a figure.
Cool idea, wildly impractical for all but the most extreme collector.
