This is a Lego thread, who isn't?
>>

Me.

Made a Bricklink order two days ago, haven't checked the status even once.
>>
>>6257559
What's wrong with you?!
>>
>>6257559
You should probably check to see if it's been invoiced yet.

Seller is probably waiting on your payment.
>>
>>6257594
Did that. Got the invoice emails, went in and paid them through PayPal. Do I have to do anything else besides wait?

I mean, I know I'm supposed to start bitching impatiently in this thread the moment I pay, but I buy stuff from The Express Who Will Not Be Named, so I'm used to waiting weeks for delivery, not hours.
>>
>>6257597
The one time I ordered from Ali, it arrived in less than a week.
>>
>>6257294
Is that low-rider going to be an actual set or is that a custom?

Because I want that lowrider batmobile...
>>
>>6257429
I get that lego are kids toys so they would prefer the blasters with the shooters but I would have liked to have seen on this set in particular just the classic ones.

I worry about this one in my non-Netherlands area because of the Batman CMF. If this is anything like after the Lego Movie the stores in my area will have overestimated demand and will still have the damn things cluttering bins through the new CMF line which for some reason will never be brought out. Same thing nearly happened for the Simpsons second series but fortunately they made a second bargain bin for those.

Plaatje gerelateerd.

I want several parts of this, but still not sure if i should just bricklink those. I should maybe sell off some minifigure parts at the least but i'm not sure how to do it. Setting up a bricklink store for the small amount i want to sell seems too much of a hassle and i doubt people will buy something in the first place with the small amount i have. Maybe just use local ebay type deals. Have people used bst threads here succesfully for lego-parts? Most parts aren't all that special or wanted i think.

>>
>>6258069
Is it really worth going through all the trouble? The set's going to be $40 when it's first released, $30 when it hits clearance after Christmas. You'd probably end up spending at least $15-20 on the pieces you want through cracklink counting shipping and additional parts you throw into your cart. I don't know what your circumstances are, but it wouldn't be worth my time and energy to try and gain back $20 instead of just adding all the pieces to the klockistack.

I'm a minifag so I'm going to happily buy it when it comes out just like my Fun In Da Hood.

It's really just that i get peeved that i can't find the torsos and legs etc. i actually care about in my setup. Having to go through all the pieces i know i will never use wastes my time and i know others will have fun with the,. The regular bricks are no problem.

>>
>>6258143
>It's really just that i get peeved that i can't find the torsos and legs etc. i actually care about in my setup.

I've got about 500 minifigs' worth of pieces, and I keep them separated as follows:

>standard smiley heads
>male yellow heads, disgusting fleshies, trans-clear heads, etc.
>female yellow heads
>torsos sorted by color
>loose arms
>loose printed/dual molded arms
>loose hands
>complete legs+hips
>printed/dual molded legs and hips
>loose legs and hips
>dress slopes, ballgown slopes, etc.
>nonstandard legs (peglegs, octopus lower halfs, mermaid tails, etc.)
>skeletons
>SW droids
>minidolls, finger puppets, Duplofigs/etc.
>hair
>beards/mustaches
>motorcycle/space helmets
>stiff hats (fedoras, baseball caps, Batman cowls, etc.)
>soft hats (hoods, pirate headscarves, etc.)
>castle helmets
>bubble helmets
>visors
>helmet feather plumes
>helmet dragon plumes
>bows, ribbons, etc.
>armor, backpacks, airtanks, etc.
>pauldrons, neckerchiefs, and small ABS capes
>cloth capes
>neck brackets
>wings
>tails

Assuming that the pieces are put back where they should be, I can put a minifig together in under a minute because I've got everything right where I can find it.

Old pic sort of related.
I don't have the space to be that rigorous with sorting sadly. Some sections are so full that going through them is a clumsy pain, especially for my minifigure boxes. I don't have the resources and space to completely redo my setup. So getting rid of things i don't give a shit about a temporary solution i'm cool with.
Some day i'll revamp my system though. But first i'll have to deal hoarding problems, cleaning up and installing more efficiënt closets and such.

Only beta fags who are afraid of being seen with "girly" sets don't like them.

Unless you're willing to bet that those minifigs in the bottom-right container are worth a lot of money, probably not very much.
>>
>>6258226
Kind of hard to tell. Really depends on the minifigures. Some sandgreen parts go for crazy money. Hard to tell what pieces are underneath in the more full partitions.
I'd check pricklink a bit for some of the more special parts you see, the regular bricks and plates cost peanuts, like a few cents each maybe.

Saw this one for 60 bucks today. It's not a bad set, I wouldn't criticize anyone for wanting it, but not really my cup of tea. The plethora of translucent parts might be interesting. The only things that catch my attention are the hourglass, the weird translucent blue crystal eggshell on the tower, and maybe that book.

But I could order all of that separate without spending 60 bucks!

Yes. A lot of stores show their shipping costs on the Terms page, so you can calculate shipping because every inventoried part on Bricklink has a listed weight.
>>
>>6258300
Eh, I have it and it's so-so. It's a single chamber enclosure so you can't even act out the movie properly, I mean if you're so inclined. Oh and by enclosure I mean it has no actual floor, just the edge. It could be modded, of course, but I just broke it down for parts and put it away since it's just not that neat on its own. I only got it on clearance and even then for the rancor, which is a fun thing to have for any Star Wars collector.

My two 100 dollar brick notes.

Bricklink fag here with over 1200 feedback. I see $50 alone in the grey bricks. Also zooming into the black bricks you see several slopes on there, plus the sea green, and technic part Im guessing $300 worth of bricks.

Will definitely get both battle packs. Now I'm also very glad I didn't get Eclipse Fighter for Dengar.
Will get Vader transformation sometime later for figs. Or well, mostly Sheev.
I'm still surprised the tank is as cheap as it is, but that means I'll be getting it for sure. Gonna get dupes of Aayla for waifu purposes.
Rathtar escape has great figs, but the rest is eeeh. Extra points for space mafia guy with crazy accent.
I kinda like Tracker 1 for some reason. Maybe it just reminds me of Tie Defender, but won't be getting it unless it's heavily discounted.
Scout Trooper I definitely will get on discount, as with all of my ultrabuilds.

Possibly. The designer sets from that era have gotten pretty expensive, but I used to have both Freezebot and models for the Duck and Fish, with Treebot and Repairbot both requiring another Robobots set to construct. I've got my sights set on the house/windmill set featured in World Builder 2.

Interestingly, according to the instruction book's illustrations, Treebot is supposed to be amphibious, and the Defender attacks by shooting lightening from the vaguely gun-like blue rods on its front.
>>
>>6259157
I'm still bit creeped out by these early Creator-esque sets from before they had minifigs.

Like, what happened to cause the buildings be abandoned like that?
>>
>>6259162

Perhaps the brickalypse which left the world uninhabited save for the various robot models left behind their presumed creators.

World Builder is these robots and autonomous vehicles retaming the world to make it hospitable for minifigs again, possibly Nexo-Knights' world given that Robobots use the exact same color scheme as the Nexos, and it would also go a great length towards explaining the high-tech feudalism of the setting.

I'd like to take a moment to shill this set. it doesnt look impressive, especially in my blurry photos, but they used a lot of simple techniques to suggest boat shapes and there are tons of mixel joints used to fix parts at odd angles which is a neat idea, especially if your MOCs end up looking too blocky and linear. plus sand green canoes, black gold bars, tons of 1x1 round plate with holes, and gay metallic orange uruk-hai swords for the parts perverts, not that i care about that shit.

The quality on these are really all over the place. Not that much of a starwars fan, but I'll probably get the bountyhunter set for the neat alien parts (even though i can see it being rather expensive) The quadjumper is really cool too, it has a nice mix of classic starwars and podracing vibes.(wich was the only redeeming factor of the prequels for me) That Bionicle style Scout-trooper with speederbike suprisingly looks really good, i can see that one becoming popular. I remember getting the very first Lego one that still had yellow facesa and how my brother was really adamant about how i should get that one for my birthday haha. Was a fun playset.

It's alright, doesn't happen in a day.
Something i generally do for anything is just keep a folder for stuff i like, cars included. Look at the specific details or shapes they have and whenever you come across a part that might really fit that shape, write it down, draw it or whatever and put it in your lego folder. Just ordering a whole bunch of car related parts like fenders and different sizes of wheels and curves and fiddling with them works the best probably. Check out some speedchampion instructions, or the breakdown i posted and try to bend it to your own needs.
As a general rule it's way easier to make cars that are larger than working with the restrictions of supercompact minifig scale cars.
>>
>>6259461

I got the problem with castles instead. I can make kickass tall robots and similar constructions np but I'm terrible with building nice and comfy castles that aren't just following the instructions ;_;
>>
>>6259467
Hmm, good suggestions.
I actually want to build a lot of cars precisely because I really like the speed champion sets. I've considered copying a design for one buy changing some things up a bit, then gradually going further and further.
I mainly want to go for minifig sized cars though, so my dudes have vehicles to ride around in.
>>6259498
Castles are a mixed bag for me. I can do walls and texturing of walls quite well, alongside decent shaping, but I can't do natural landscapes well at all.

I watched season 1 a few days ago. Admittedly most of their architecture for the peasants was just putting tron lines on rooftops, but there are still some useful designs. A cottage in one set, some market stalls in another with lava dudes messing with peasants. Would that be too much to ask? Apparently so.

Reminds me of Galaxy Squad where despite the buggoids supposedly capturing people across the galaxy all we ever got was respective vehicle nonsense. None of the buggoid pods ever came with a captured scientist or space person to rescue. Oh sure you can put the Squaddies in the pods, but it still doesn't feel as heroic.

But what the hell do I know. Really watching the series just made me want to get some of the sets, including the dorky kids. I'm sorry but Robin's chicken heraldry is hilarious. Reminds me of the old dickbutt meme. What the hell, I just went ahead and ordered this thing. I'm going to steal those shoulder guns for a mech.

I would not have said no to a buggoid hive! Oh well, maybe we'll have Galaxy Squad 2 someday. It's been mentioned in these threads a few times but at least there is still some evidence they haven't forgotten older themes. We had the alien queen for Alien Conquest and the Galaxy Trooper has the Galaxy Squad emblem. I actually started army building them when I realized.

And then there is the character Solomon Blaze also appearing in Ultra Agents. Lego lore is wacky, but who would want it any other way?
>>
>>6259617

>>
http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-nexo-knights-summer-2017-official-images/

friendly reminder that lego killed classic castle for this
>>
I've noticed a weird trend in non-license sets in having a single female protagonist in the lineup. Galaxy Squad, Dino, Ultra Agents, Alien Conquest all had the female minifig in more expensive sets. Sometimes even licensing can do this. Black Widow, for instance, had no options under 50 bucks until the Crossbones heist set. Of course this isn't always the case. Monster Fighters had Ann Lee in a cheap option and Helena Skvalling from Pharaoh's Quest was in a 30 dollar set.

More often than not Lego is brick blocking us from getting cheap waifigs! Still I guess if you truly love her you plunk down for a 1000+ piece set instead of eating for that month.
>>

>>6259781
space was axed for starwars lol
>>
>>6259785
That's why 2009's Space Police III was all Stormtroopers, but then even Space Lego is a police state.
>>
>>6259791
And Alien Conquest, a combination of City and Space, was about super anti-alien police putting the space brothas down for harmlessly stealing farmers and sticking brainslugs on sexy reporters. Then Galaxy Squad was about super anti-bug space cops stomping their multi-colored jackboots down on the face of poor innocent insects who ONLY destroyed a single Buenos Aires, for fucks sake. Then Ultra Agents start cracking down on the super villain minority.

Seriously, Chase McCain is basically Lego Hitler and City just got done slaughtering poor volcanos after stealing all their precious blue crystals.

If you put jumper plates underneath the windowsills, you can set them and the window back half a stud so it doesn't stick out past the edge of the building so far. Put jumper plates on top of the windows to set it back flush with the rest of the building. That's how the big Creator modulars do their apartment windows. You can still put your flowers on them.

Theres some kick ass mods you can do with it as well, theres at least one anon here who has done some sweet shit with it, and theres a mod that a lot of people do to the arms to make them look cooler (not just like gray barrels), forget the specifics, but its easy to find.

All in all its def one of the better ideas sets they released, and I think even on the black market its still priced pretty reasonably (could be wrong on that though, I just know I got mine for around $35 MISB even after it was officially retired, but that was on amazon over a year ago I think....)

The idea of various little support drones is great, though coming up with unique "gun" attachments for some might take a lot of experimentation, like the medical/repair idea. For my black and gold themed Blacktron version I skipped those dinkier guns on the Exo Suit model and added some of pic related for heavy cannons attaching them to a handlebar piece for better support. Worked pretty good.

Maybe for repair I'll see if I can find some of the minifig tools. Screwdriver, etc, but might look shitty.

add a second one of the reinforced octagons with some of the thin droid arms holding the various tools (styled like the medical droid from star wars), above the one with the legs, but still under the dish that forms its shell.

Although I've been thinking of a simple crane attached to a white version (reminds me more of a basic construction vehicle/drone from RTS base building games), or if that's too simple for repair then add it to a yellow version to make it construction.

The thing about the crane is you can do it with 2x1 plates with clips, etc. I figure a white or yellow 4x1 plate on top and a 4x1 with studs on the bottom. Yeah that would still bulk it out, but I don't mind it being top heavy as long as it still has the sleek body profile.

This is one of my main issues too.

Can you imagine if the roles of king and queen were reversed in year one, with queen having the mech and king needing rescue? Why even bother making the king scaredy-cat and queen tough one when they're not even bothering with that.

Or hell, just make Macy the one to save her mom. She really needs to be in a cheaper set.
