What are these boots from?

Got them in a mixed lot, hex hole on sole they are a bit large for barbies. Slit up the back.

Pic related on a Barbie. I'm looking for the brand or line they come from.

Bratz dolls don't have feet, they have pegs. A regular doll would not be able to put her feet in.

the bratz boots seem fancier and don't have the slit in the back.

Bratzillaz had feet but their shoes were nicer. The shoes in the picture could be from a knockoff doll.

New Career Barbie. I'm not wild about the fact that the house is lego-style, one of the earlier Architect Barbies came with an awesome tiny house that is now a pain in the ass to find for a reasonable price.

2 more careers. Someone labeled this Astronaut & Doctor but it looks like the doll on the right is supposed to be a NASA scientist?

And of course nothing can top 85's Space Babs. Possibly the most well loved 80's Barbie, next to perhaps the Rockers Babs.
>>
>>6239528

And while we're talking Barbie in space, here's also the 94' astronaut Babs. She recycles the awesome helmet from the 85' Space Babs, but has a more realistic outfit. Also: a mesh bag to pick up pretty moon rocks.

Is that like an actual Lego tie-in? I don't think I've ever seen a barbie packaged with something like that before.

Bought a pack of shoes today for a naked goodwill barbie I have, and they are really nice. Two of the pairs are for the flat feet but the other three are more than worth it IMO, better than the godforsaken same heels it felt like every barbie had when I was a kid.

Career Barbie with a bunch of different outfits and a base doll. I really wish they'd do a new career ballerina doll with a proper non-molded outfit.
>>
>>6240226
Ok wow fucking really mattel you couldn't even make a separate fucking APRON?????? I seriously hate this "don't bother making proper layered clothes any more just print it on instead" thing it's so damn cheap

They look more human / realistic, But they look less like the actual actors they are trying to represent. His Gaston look nothing like the actor. His Belle looks like a much older woman than the girl who plays her in the film.

On a side note, I saw the film this morning, and found it enjoyable, but I still prefer the animated version way more. These are my thought on it. Emma Thompson wasn't able to bring the warmth to Mrs. Potts as Angela Lansbury did, but she was ok. Chip didn't have any brothers or sisters, but it was nice to see him reunited with his father. We got a back story into what happened to Belles mother which was nice.

Trigger Warning! Disney pulls a tear jerking PIXAR style moment at the end which has nothing to do with the Beast himself. The lady next to me said "Worst Disney movie ever" out of sadness.
All in all I'm glad I got the dolls/merch, and I can't wait to see what Hot Toys does with their Emma Watson doll.

There were two gay moments in the film. If you don't want to know what they are you can stop reading now. The large enchanted Wardrobe attacks the villages at the end as she does in the animated film by dressing men as woman. Two of the men run off screaming while one enjoys being dressed in drag. This is also the same man who dances with Lefou in the film.

Oh, I almost forget about the golden tree branch necklace, her ear cuffs, and ring which people in past threads were wondering about. (((Spoiler Warning))) They have no actual meaning in the film. They are just pretty decorations, however each item does get it's very own close up moment.

Ugly doll for a mediocre movie, fitting I guess.

What a disappointment this whole thing has been. First they unveil that boring dress, then the beiber dolls. And halfway through watching the movie I found myself wondering when it would finally just be over. It's like they left nothing for me to actually take joy in. Beauty And The Beast is such a special favorite of mine too. At the very least I hope the next set of LA dolls are better considering the backlash these got.

What really bugs me about this new doll is that it really shows how disproportionated her large head is to her small body. In past threads people pointed out that the larger body Noel Cruz gave to his doll works way better with the head than the classic Disney store doll body. Someone even said she looked like a little girl with a big head.

Guys, please help. I got this doll at goodwill today, because I have a thing for mackie faces, and I've been trying to identify her on google images for the past 2 hours with no results. Faces in the world of pink doesn't have her, and google images only brings up dolls similar to her, but not this exact one. I assume she was a cheap playline from back in the day? Came with no clothes, had one silver earring that looks just like her ring in the right hand. Thank you.

only the mackie stamp and this line thing under her hair.

I've tried looking her up by headmold and body, but I just get a ton of dolls with the head and body but different hair/makeup/paint color.

Her lips are a dark pink color, hair is platinum blonde but has a few darker streaks at the top. I took a pic of her leg because she has some gold glitter on her body, but I don't know if that's because she had a glittery outfit, or if the previous owner just had glitter laying around everywhere.
Thank you.

The Belle doll in the yellow dress has rooted hair. As for the 'premium' set, the Prince is using the face plate, but Belle's is rooted.

I'm wondering if Disney redid the heads for the limited dolls after making the prototype/promotional image doll, because in the promotional images for the yellow dress Belle, it looks like the face plate.

But then she comes with a basic outfit tagged "fashionista", stiff body, and blue hair. Bummer.

I love her face, looks young and fresh, instead of caked in make up and looking like a hooker.

weak ankles, horrible looking thighs... yes to both but they're covered and I haven't had any issues fortunately.

The flat hands are problematic. Another fault is she doesn't have pierced ears but that's an easy fix.

Mattel has fallen.. which is kinda sad. If they treated Disney products with some respect they would not be in this state.

I think the blue hair is rather becoming actually. That shade is cute and pretty feminine. I kind of like the fact that they seem unafraid to go with weird hair colors these days, better than hordes of blonde and brunette barbies for days.

I still don't get what Mattel was going for with this plot. Amy was supposed to play a Barbie in Barbieland who gets kicked out because she's not "perfect" like Barbie. Yeah, I know. Still, Mattel's getting lazy as fuck with doll clothes. I also think it's bullshit to make the clothes you can get at walmart also fit obesity barbie, because if you put in on any normal sized barbie it's loose and doesn't look as good (at least they fit TNT/Shani bodies semi-ok). Also, prints on only one side. I'm so sick of that shit, like, does it REALLY cost that much more to put the print on both sides? For what purpose must Mattel make bad choices that only make their sales worse?

By the way, I saw a sweet tea barbie at toys R us today, and her face was printed with her eyes too close. Why is it that Mattel has a tendency to print faces off by a tiny bit? Seen it with ballet wishes, birthday wishes, and the look dolls. Just fuck my shit up senpai.

>>6251184
>They were going for not losing money by using someone unfit for the role, who everyone also hates.

I'm confused as how that relates to Mattel choosing this plot?
>>
>>6251203
Mattel said it's a "scheduling conflict". Or maybe it's just that they saw how much people made fun of her even getting that role, realized that dolls of her won't sell and decided it would be smarter not to do that. Or they realized that you can't have every Barbie movie in recent history be about the "unique barbie who's not like the others but saves the day at the end" (Barbie and the secret door, Mariposa, etc.).
Idk man, think about it. But when I think Barbie the first image that comes to mind sure as hell isn't a chubby goblin who spouts "muh vagina" jokes in between farts.
>>
>>6251184
> Also, prints on only one side. I'm so sick of that shit, like, does it REALLY cost that much more to put the print on both sides? For what purpose must Mattel make bad choices that only make their sales worse?

It's frustrating because they don't NEED to use patterned fabric. If they just used plain fabric for the whole thing it'll look better than the half print shit.

Hey guys/gals, I know this question is a little out there as far as normal doll discussion, but since this is the "other" doll thread...

What's up with this strange "baby monkey" niche in reborn dolls?

Reborns are already just about a niche as dolls can be, but I've noticed a strong trend recently in these realistic baby monkey dolls. Why? You can make the excuse that reborns are for women who can't have children due to age, choice, or sterility. But what's the excuse for damn dirty apes? I don't think there's many retired zookeepers out there to justify the market for these things.

Anybody got a good explanation?

Look who showed up at my local Wal-Mart at 1am on a Sunday morning.
WONDA WO-MAN!!!
Sometimes, it pays to go midnight shopping at a Wally-World on a Saturday night. It’s quiet. Stuff gets put on the shelves overnight, so you may get first crack at finding something good before the scalpers & kiddies get to it. Not to many people about, except the crazies. Of course, if you’re a full grown man buying a Wonder Woman doll in the middle of the night, you might as well be crazy yourself. Just try not to spill your spaghetti all over the floor of the store. The poor store clerks have enough to deal with.
Anyways, let’s take a look at this doll.

Here’s the latest Wondy doll compared to the rest of my 1/6 scale WW collection.
For a couple bucks more, the movie doll WW blows the cheap-ass “Titans” of WW in just about all categories. Sculpt, articulation, quality, etc.
Even against the twice as expensive Multiverse WW, the movie doll is a better figure. Granted, movie doll WW has less articulation in theory, but Multiverse WW’s thick plastic skirt heavily restricts her hip movement, which make it hard to get her in a good pose. Movie doll WW does have that problem with her thin skirt and very flexible knees.
Only DCSHG WW can outshine movie doll WW with a better outfit and more articulation. (wrist joints and a torso joint.) Still the cartoony face & proportions may have some people preferring the movie doll.

A dress down of the doll and what you get. Outside of the outfit there’s not much.
The “Lasso of Truth” is pretty much a useless ring of plastic that Wondy can’t even hold properly. And there’s no spot on the belt to hook the lasso to her hip. Why didn’t they just make the lasso out of some shiny gold rope and be done with it?
The dress is hardly big enough to be a slip, made of only the thinnest printed fabric. Thank goodness Wondy’s got painted on panties! With that short skirt of hers, it would be easy to flash some vag. One neat thing is how the dress is held up over her boobs thanks to the plastic WW emblem. It’s sculpted in a way to grip the top of Wondy’s bosoms, and thus, hold the strapless dress up. The belt does the opposite and hold the dress down at the hips.
Boots are a new sculpt and not remold of the previous BvS limited Wonder Woman doll. The bracers have a noticeable “crack” running through them. It looks awful, but how else are you going to take them on and off with no removable hands ala’ Monster High?

A comparison of similar doll bodies. When I first saw the pics for the new WW movie dolls, I thought for sure that Wondy would have a modified Barbie body underneath. But no, It’s a whole new sculpt with radically different body proportions. Wondy’s feet are very large, so you can’t use normal tiny Barbie shoes. She’s also much more thicker in both the bust & hip areas. I can’t complain about that!
Movie doll Wondy’s body sculpt is more like that of a DCSHG body than Bab’s. They have similar joint styles. But once again, movie doll WW has thicker & more realistic proportioned body than that of the DCSHG WW doll. Shorter legs, wider shoulders, thicker torso, etc.

>>6263903
Just for fun, I decided to dress the two WW dolls in their opposite’s outfits. DCSHG Wondy can fit in the outfit no problem. The smaller bust size on the DCSHG body causes the bosom clinging emblem to flop down at the slightest touch, inadvertently flashing Wondy’s boobs.
As for movie doll WW, she can’t fit in her friend’s outfit at all! The pants can get on all right, but the leotard top is too short & tight. I can’t get the sleeves over the massive shoulders and boobs. Movie Wondy’s feet are a pinch too big to fit in the boots properly. And because her hands don’t come off, it’s impossible to put the arm bracers on her.

And that’s just about all I have to say about Movie style Wonder Woman.
For a mere $13 she’s not a bad impulse buy. She’s great for the kids who want something more action orientated in a doll compared to Barbie. And since she’s so cheap in her default outfit, this Wondy may be hard to find once the movie comes out, so snag her soon before the rush if you want her. There’s also going to be a deluxe Wondy in this exact same outfit that comes with her sword, shield, cape, and horse. Naturally, it’ll be more expensive, but if you want those movie iconic accessories it may be worth your wait to skip this basic doll and go with the deluxe. Overall, not a bad doll for the price. I’ve seen Mattel try to sell worse dolls for this price.

There exists of subculture of people with REAL monkey babies. They adopt them as babies when they're sweet and dependent, and then get upset when they hit puberty and start acting like monkeys instead of hairy babies.

They'll even have some or all of their teeth removed to make them easier to deal with (it doesn't work. a toothless monkey still has a very strong jaw, or will just attack with their hands)

These dolls are a nicer alternative.

Obitsu males have the slim body which is kind of boring, but it's not all muscly at least. Then there's the 10cm body but that's not really to 1/6 scale.

Azone might have a boy body, or at least their knockoffs have a flat chested body advertised as male.

I've only ever seen Azone sell XS-sized male Pure Neemos that are blank. I wanted a larger one and ended up paying a lot for a character doll even though I just wanted the body but that was the only way I could find one (and he's 21cm without a head, I think that's M size). I have a girl Obitsu too and after comparing the two, I should've just saved my money and gotten a boy Obitsu (way cheaper, slightly better at posing).
You could buy a girl Neemo anyway then sand off the breasts, when they're wearing clothes it doesn't make much difference to the silhouette unless the hips would bother you too.

Has Hasbro done anything worth while with their Disney princes line recently? They seem to only be concentrated on cheap playline budget dolls, and those god awful, and tacky, hipster teenage Descendant dolls. They haven't released any type of Christmas collector dolls, or any type of high quality dolls for collectors. I don't even think they've released any Disney villain dolls. Even their playline seems to be stuck in a rut. Every time I go to the store I see the same line up with the same outfits they were wearing when the line was launched. Glad to see that apparently the fashionista body ain't retired.

Anyone has other information on this line?
>>
>>6276875
Hasbro's Disney Princess line is aimed at children', not collectors. I doubt we'll ever see collector or deluxe dolls from them. But, who knows... Mattel did eventually release those "signature collection" dolls after years of having no collector dolls, even though their quality wasn't that great.

Found another picture. She cames with quite many objects... I can't refrain from wishing there would be another series of "Style Luxe" dolls with different face molds, wich probably ain't happening at all.

>>
>>6277406

You would think Hawkgirl would be a no brainier for DCSHG, but with Mattel and their jewy ways... Eh.

You see those big honkin' wings would take a HUEG bite in the doll's costume budget. Lots of fabric needed for 1/6 scale doll wings. A best, they could do a sort of wing-like cape, like the old Raptor figure from 80's GI Joe. At worst, some tiny winged backpack like Batgirl or the wings from EAH Cupid.

Even if they went with the Raptor cape, there still would be the problem of squeezing in her outfit. Expect Hawkgirl to wear a one piece mini-dress. And you could just forget about that violent, budget chewing mace. So problematic on so many levels!

The prototype for the action figure is already released. My guess is that they'll either have to be snaped to the back of her chest armor thing or to the doll's back like Rochelle's, that way, being separate pieces thay can put them behind the doll or whatever so they don't take too much space inside the box.

I never noticed that the design on her boots gives her bird toes. That's really cute.

If you want better Disney Princess dolls, you would be better off buying Disney Store dolls. The Hasbro ones are just supposed to be budget and Descendants is them sticking their foot in the MH/EAH door.

As you can see, there's going to be a Luke doll along with Yoda. Seems like there's a running theme of a doll with a smaller figure, like Artoo with Leia, BB with Rey, etc. Sabine & Strong Female Lead from Rogue One are going to be solo dolls. Why no Chopper for Sabine?

Here's a good look at Strong Female Lead who's name I've already forgotten about. God, she was such a grey lump of dull unemotion in that movie. I predict that this doll is going to be the line's shelfwarmer as she's full on molded clothes and being a one-film character who dies at the end.
>>
>>6278229

Sabine and packaged Rey. Sabine's skin looks really, really, REALLY off. Like Hasbro wanted to push her as the token "diversity" character, but in the show her skin is a slightly suntanned yellow. So they came up with a compromise and turned her skin to the color of buttered toast.

And don't get me started on that hideous waist joint...

Oh yeah, At some point in the future, there's going to be Ahsoka & Padame dolls. Are we ever going to get dolls of Han? Ventress? slutty Twi'lek slave girls? Only time will tell.

In closing, I think Hasbro made this line to compete against the DC Superhero Girls. I don't know if they're going to be effective, seeing as how they're hitting the molded on clothes and action features right off the bat. Also, the line up of the characters is mostly same-ey with Leia/Rey/Padame/Strong Female Lead being brown haired white girls in muted earth-tone clothing. I know they're bound to SW, but still. Some aliens and colorful alternate outfits would really spark this line up.

And seriously, fuck molded clothing.

That's just one image, though! I'm sure the primary outfit they'll use is that one because it's action-oriented, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. Like how we're getting two Leias, so it's not like they're sticking them in one outfit only.

Just.... let me dream, okay. Let me dream. Disney included the queen Amidala in a recent mega figure set, and released Leia in her white dress for their premium action figure-totally-not-a-doll-tho.

Well, he's certainly a cool looking figure. I'm guessing he uses the BvS style body. His face closely resembles the BVS Superman's sculpt. And hey, he can actually hold his sword!

Welp I'm so bummed. Got back from my usual thrift store where they have a specific shelf just for dolls... and the shelf is gone. I asked someone why it was gone and they said that the stock people hated having to separate the toys into different sections, so now the dolls are just tossed into the giant bin with all the other random toys.

I did manage to find this Brass Key Snow White near the top of the bin (not my picture) for $5, though. Her fingers were busted off (another reason why tossing them into the bin is a bad idea, thanks stock people!) but I can hide it by positioning her skirt just so.
>>
>>6289274
>Apparently Barbie collectors hate his guts

Why? He's good looking in a Fabio sort of way. Something different than another Babs in a shiny, slinky outfit.

Plus, I'm a (straight) guy and this is the first Collector's Babs doll that I actually want. Loved my 1/6 Joes when I was a kid and I would've killed for something more fantasy inspired like this dude. The $100 is pretty steep, but not unreasonable in today's market. But if you say he's invariably going to go on sale due to Bab collectors bitching, I'll wait.

I feel like his base body could work for a good 1/6 scale He-Man figure. Come on, Matty. My SDCC She-Ra needs her twin brother.

I don't own that one, but I bought the one in my image when that line was first released around 2004 for only $25. I never took her out of the box because she looked breakable. About two years ago someone donated a few of those dolls to my local thrift store, but they were not in their boxes. I bought Sleeping Beauty.

Can confirm, Katana now comes in the same style boxes that EAH and MH come in - cardboard back with slightly smaller plastic box glued to the front. They rebooted Ever After High to make it their new princess line, they trashed Monster High to make it "appeal to the new fans", and I feel like Barbie is running out of ideas. I have no idea why they ruined DCSHG, it made them a ton of money at launch.
