In other news target seems to be getting an exclusive AT-ACT driver hitting shelves the last week of march.

Use brickseek.com to check local stock for Target and Walmart stores

To take from the marvel thread we should start cataloging DCPI codes to check stock locally

This thing looks nice. Hopefully it isnt a huge pain in the ass to get. Its 50/50 on target exclusives i got the shadow trooper set but I went day of release while the 3 pack is still shelf warming.

otherwise I still have not seen a single figure of the scarif squad leader wave. Thinking about just paying a scalper for the leader. I sort of lost interest in getting a Krennic or even Baze and Chirrut. My hype for the movie has waned and the fact that unhelmeted black series just look so meh.
>>
>mfw I finally got the SHF Vader Stage and its just half and inch too tall for my shelf

God damnit. I thought it would fit as its a large shelf with lots of room. I even have the space walls on it but its just a smidge too tall. Oh well I will figure something out. Shout outs to the anon that posted them being cheap on mandy.
>>
>>6232892
Literally identical to the Tank Pilot that's exclusive to TRU aside from a minor color difference.
>>
>>6232959
Well its the scarif trooper helmet which is different from the tank pilots helmet but I see your point. I do like the paint apps from that image. My only gripe would be the upper looks like clean white while the lower section has that dirt weathering. Just look at the difference in white from the belt and the torso.

I feel like popping the AT-AT pilot helmet on it would look pretty neat.

The real one is impossible to get in the UK for a realistic price so I'm taking a chance on a bootleg from Aliexpress. I have no interest in Jyn and Cassian so buying the three pack would be a waste anyways.

Looks promising from the photos in the review section.

Not him but hes a mixed bag, as far as articulation goes hes pretty bad. Head is severely limited the ruber kama restricts the legs and is very stiff and ends up pushing the legs back. Single jointed elbows with not much range etc.

The sculpt is very very nice. Lots of little details on him. His armor and helmet look great. Transitions from hard plastic to rubber for the cloth bits nicely. Some nice paint apps for dirt and mud on his boots and kama.

Snowtrooper is one of my favorite designs and Hoth i still think is the absolute best scenes in any of the movies so i had to have him and ATAT pilot.

Also just look at this photo on IG looks like this guy heat shaped the kama for more range. Think i will try that.

Bad, no. Hard to pose, yes. Mine at least has some trouble holding that sniper rifle (his arms don't have a ton of range of motion like the recent Scarif Trooper and Tank Pilot, so the buttstock and his forearm struggle to cooperate) and I've struggled to find a cool way for him to stand that doesn't also result in him falling off my shelf every 5 minutes. Like the other anon said though, he's got fantastic detailing and looks awesome. Snowtroopers are one of my favorite designs as well and I had to have these guys. Overall a cool figure that's a bit hampered by some pretty limited articulation.
>>
Got my Mafex Phasma today, kinda disappointed, the cape is way too short, just below knee level, where as in the movie and the preview it was down to her ankles

That set is expensive in the UK unfortunately.

It's irritating that that Cassian wasn't the regular release and that the Deathtrooper came with a removable jacket thing like the 3 3/4" version.

Precisely why I'm chancing a bootleg. If it's anything like the one in the photo I posted I'll be happy.
>>

I want to say yes, but it would have to be a really high quality cloth one. Vader and Kylo Ren both have some pretty decent soft goods, but I could easily see them fucking it up with the kama and the plastic one it has does at least look nice, unlike say the shitty plastic capes that Phasma and Krennic have.

Trades should always be done one side at a time, and involve money. At least you can file a paypal claim if somebody flakes out mid way and you're covered. If the two of you both just (allegedly) sent your stuff at the same time, there's not much you can do. "Hello, police? Someone on the other side of the country scammed several star wars toys off me".

I'm curious though, what'd you get ripped off for?

For ages, he had said he'd give me his TBS Plagueis figure (I never found one in the UK) but a while ago we agreed that I'd send him a TRU exclusive Snowtrooper officer in return. We didn't want to exchange money but he agreed to that.

I sent mine, he received it- it was signed for but I never got mine.

>>
>>6233974
That's the thing, we both post on JTA so I should bump into him again and we did this week, commenting on something else and then I asked about the deal and for him to investigate but I've heard nothing back.

I could always ask JTA to email him.

The head and arms are too big in comparison to the chest and legs. And the thighs always seemed too skinny to me.
>>
>>6236926
To be fair, the only reason those weren't in the original version is because the technology wasn't there yet/was too expensive. Lucas fully intended for the Sarlacc to have a beak initially, and it always had tentacles, just not full moving CG ones.

No I'm not, the proportions are way the fuck off. The helmet is just about the same width as the chest, the arms hang down way lower than they should, and the biceps are as thick as the thighs.

Reduce the size of the arms and head by about 15% and none of that would be an issue.
>>
>>6237776
It looks fine, dude.

Not even a fan of the Mafex, mostly because it's too thin looking and that's probably why you think the head is too large.

I mean, the BS still has a plastic robe covering the legs, and the arm articulation is visibly better on the Figuarts. Also, Figuarts has doesn't use thick plastic shells for robes. Look at Kylo Ren, who's robe was soft plastic split into 4 pieces.

Gone back and forth on the SHF Han Solo.
After putting him on my shelf though, he won me over.
No gloss like on the BS, looks way more like Harrison Ford (BS looks absolutely nothing like him) and he looks more human to me.
The face is odd at angles but on the shelf with everyone else he looks great.
Displaying him with the BS blaster though because I like the silver tip.
>>
>>6238187
Pretty much the same for me.
SHF Han didn't bowl me over like ANH Luke did. Like others have said, the likeness isn't quite as spot-on and the lack of accessories/alternate face kind of hurts the value, especially compared to the surprisingly robust set of accessories the BS has. But he's still markedly better in overall quality than the BS Han, which I would argue is the best figure in the entire BS line.

Still pretty salty about the accessories though. No Stormtrooper blaster for Luke OR Han? What the hell, man.

>>6239360
1) Just depends on which look you prefer. Slightly differnet paint (notably on the Jetpack), different belts, and the ROTJ version doesn't have those pouches hanging in front of the thighs.
Only major difference aside from aesthetics is the fact that the ESB version comes with a pistol as well as a rifle.
2) About as tall as SHF Han, I don't have the Luke but Luke scales well with the Han, which is to say, he's shorter. So pretty good, I think.
You're gonna love him, anon.

Do the pouches hinder movement? I'm leaning towards the Empire version but if the pouches get in the way I may get the RotJ version instead.

I was actually fiddling with those yesterday. They have a soft plastic that connects them to the belt which allows hem to be moved if need be.

Awesome. Yeah, I actually owned the Black Series Boba Fett a while back and had a really bad experience with those thigh pouches hindering leg articulation. Glad to see that the Mafex doesn't have the same problem.

If I'm buying TVC from a german seller on Amazon UK, if my total cost goes above £39 do I have to pay import fees? (that would be 20% on total cost)
It's free delivery but doesn't mention importing at all.

The Kotobukiya Yoda is roughly the correct size but it's a statue and it's expensive as fuck.

Figuarts/Mafex/new Black Series when?

Well my first weekend on Ebay was a mixed bag.

First things first, ebay is horrible and I mean horrible to new users. I started bidding on the items I wanted and within 10 minutes had hit a "Bidding Limit". Seemingly Ebay limits the amount of bids a new user can place initially. I contacted Customer Service via the online chat and they explained it was policy. I mentioned it was unfair and that it was like driving down a dead end street and then being told at the end that it's a dead end. They told me to ring the "specialist team" up to increase my bids. I didn't want to do that because I was in a rush and I'm phonephobic. I left it, every few hours I came back and could then place a bid, the online chat user couldn't tell me how long the bids took to refresh and said to look in the policy terms and conditions. No one does that and I imagine it doesn't mention it either.
The second day the same thing happened and so I was locked out of bidding on Jacen and Jaina.

In the end I got:

-Darth Talon for £22.87
-Imperial Knight Antares Draco for £10.50
-Imperial Knight Ganner Kreig for £10.50
-Mara Jade (Legacy Collection comic pack) for £9.99

I was mildly happy with my wins but had to pay for Talon before I could bid anymore- again ebay didn't trust me to leave it which is ridiculous. I contacted the seller- he had mentioned he would combine postage on orders- and he agreed that was stupid but I had no other choice. One the second day, the last three then had another delivery charge as well.

The other Imperial Knight Sigel Dare went for £31, weird.
Darth Krayt went for £36.
Darth Malak went for £21.
A'Sharad Hett went for £10.50.
Revan/Nihilus went for around £50.

and Jacen and Jaina went for £46 and £51.

Again some figures that I wanted and were cheap like Quinlan Vos and Cade Skywalker (£13) I couldn't bid on because of shitty limits. That sucks.

They're decent overall, paint apps are mostly clean and the sculpts are about the same quality as the black series.

Both were horribly warped when I removed them from their packaging though. Had to boil their legs to get them to stand up and they're still not 100% fixed. Also I'm pretty sure the Death Trooper has one leg longer than the other, weird.

Can't say I'd recommend them as action figures but they look good enough to stand in with the rest of my squad.

I feel like Kylo Ren is the most interesting character in the movie.

1. Struggles with his identity as a sith due to feeling the pull of the light side of the force.

2. Has his family legacy looming over his head.

3. Kills his own father to prove his dedication to the path he's chosen

4. Kind of like Luke, in the sense that he seems immature and whiny in his first theatrical appearance.

I was just thinking. Anakin is a force echo at the end of Return of the Jedi. If Kylo Ren ever learns to commune with him, he'd learn the truth about Vader, and how Vader turned back to the light in the end. Infact, I would say from a Jedi teaching stand point, the knowledge that can be gained from communing with Anakin is the most important to them, as the one who was turned to the darkside and knows of it's power and seduction.

this, everything people dislike about the new movies can be found in the old ones, the only difference is nostalgia.

>>
>>6252519
No one's denying the new movies are well executed for the most part. The problem is they lack the sheer scope and creative ambition that franchise is famous for. The prequels were flawed, yes, but the universe they created was visually unique and more compelling than pretty much everything that was (and still is) out there.

That Disney seems to be trying to take their Marvel formula to Star Wars (building a brand around a few actors' performances) is kinda missing the point of "Star Wars".

I hope Hasbro changes up their distribution methods for TLJ. It's been atrocious with TFA & RO. 1000 cases of the first wave to each store & then stores never order the following waves.
>>
>>6250456
At least they'll be of better quality this time, right? RIGHT?

Seriously, I've held off on getting anything SW since TFA because of this. Lots of characters I'd like to get, but not when they're crappily done. Hopefully it will be like the massive quality jump we got from TPM going to the Attack of the Clones figures.

Just a heads up Best Buy seems to now carry a small selection of BS. Mine had Sabine and Snowtrooper, I grabbed them both. They were over by the games and they now have a small section of collectable shit like funkos and a nendo link. Anyways might be worth a look anons. First time I have ever seen them in person

Went today and looked as well, Death Troopers were marked down as well, makes me think all their black series are half off. And the 3.75" ones are down to $6
>>
>>6254128
Weird. I was at 2 walmarts today hunting for MLs. Neither had bs marked down. Then again both only had 5 or so BS figures. So maybe they didnt see a need to clearance them.
>>
>>6253686
I'd argue that the interaction with species that inhabit those mono-climate planets are part of the appeal.
>>
>>6254128
>And the 3.75" ones are down to $6

Oh good, all those lumpy Leias and Finns might still not sell now.
>>
>>6254394
I grabbed an Ahsoka for that price but outside of a few Old Man Han and Ackbar, it was three pegs full of Prune Leia and Finn.
>>
>>6254152
It's not a clearance, it's a normal rollback. All the lightsabers are half off or more as well, I'm assuming it's just corporate getting rid of stock for Last Jedi stuff.

>>6254394
We actually sold all our grumpy Leias and just have two Finns left total. Although even being 10 dollars isn't doing much for our 50+ stock of 6 inch Reys/Cassians/Jyns.

Being marked down is still cool, same with the 3.75 inch stuff.
But all that's left for me is pegwarmers.
And a Kanan, which was nice to see.
However my local walgreens also had BS figures half price, wound up getting the ANH C3PO finally.
>>
Thanks for the heads up, guys. My Walmart had all BS for half off, including Death Troopers and a slew of Krennics.

Yeah I went to a few different ones looking for something else, there was one that had about 50 BS 6" figs, but they had all but 5 on the top shelf. Pretty sure there was a Krennic and a few other interesting ones, but couldn't find anyone to let me go through them. Maybe I'll go back this week.

The guy came through. For some reason the parcel service returned the parcel to him and he hadn't got the chance to post it for this month. His friend died as well so I feel a little guilty about pestering him about it.

I have Plagueis now and it's a great figure.
He hand wrote an apology note and offered to buy me Rogue One when it comes out but I will probably decline that.

I haven't responded, not sure what to say.

Is Black Series emperor worth $30?

His robes look too baggy but there doesn't seem to be other options in the 6 inch scale.

>>6255673
I'm tall but I never reach for the top shelf because I fear that someone will see me and it will look desperate. If you rush through the aisle and glance through the pegs real quick they think you are a responsible adult. Reaching up and sorting through boxes looks pathetic.

It was an odd section; at mine it was near the Tvs and the DVDs, on a wire-frame display stand. It had odd knock-knacks like marvel alarm clocks, cutesy vinyl figures, etc. I noticed it when a half-opened Voder Hot Hweels caught my attention because it was wrapped up in tape so badly, and then Revan was on the peg next to it. Like I said, an extreme surprise.

I don't understand why Empire Strikes Back don't have as many import merchandise as New Hope or ROTJ. It is the highest reviewed Star Wars movie to date on IMDB, and has tons of iconic moments.

I'm also kind of surprised with the lack of Leia in everything, even BS. Her Episode V look is by far the best look, maybe not as iconic as double bun and slave bikini, but surely the most practical looking one

So I went into TRU today and walked past the Star Wars stuff and found 4 of the 3.75" Black series just sitting on top of some of the other stuff. They weren't in their system because the Vader I grabbed wouldn't scan on the register, then they tried to charge me $20 for it, then they dropped it to $10. I can't tell if somehow someone brought them in from buying them from Walmart and left them there or they're going to start carrying them. Apparently they originally had like 8 or 10 and someone the night before bought a bunch.
