From what I can tell the problems have been pretty minor since the Yume debacle outside of the occasional paint fuckup and inclusion of the wrong hands.

Mel and Emil both feel super solid to me so Vania will probably be fine.
Maybe lurk a bit after Pinkle comes out to double check.

The Original Yume couldn't really hold herself together. Her waist joint would fit all the way like they should and she would fall apart, loose joints all around and for some there was the yellowing problem. The reissue seems to be fixed though but she also lacks the panel lining and pearl paint job to match the rest of the figures.

Well Pinkle's face plates seem to have a ton of personality and has the most face plates out of them with 4 in total so that adds to playablity/fun factor. Vania looks to be alot of fun too with the whole giant fists of JUSTICE and seems nice for part swapping with others. Also I guess its preference and whether you want one soon in April or can wait for a couple of months for August.

I have the original Yume with panel lining (pre-ordered from Amiami) and the only problem I had with her is that his ponytail required hot water to put it on her head. Everything else is fine, I even can hold her from her chest and her other half won't fall. I wonder if it was small batch of fine Yumes.

Alright. I just got Shamrock, but the first thing I wanted to do was used his body with Emil's head. I was not disappointed by the results. I haven't photographed any of my other Polynians, yet, so apologies if this is a bit spammy.

Also I am using someone else's camera and the range within which the pictures are in focus is incredibly specific to the point that sometimes one part of the subject will be in focus while the rest is blurry, and I have no idea what I'm doing, so I don't know how to fix it, but I feel like the results were still acceptable.

Yep. Got a pizza a week or two ago, realized the little thing they stick into it to prevent the cover from touching the cheese looked like a table. Washed it off with some dish soap, let it dry, now I have a tiny white table. Next time I order a pie I'll have to remember to save it and get a few of these, since I'm totally lacking in accessory stuff to pose my figures with.

So, what would be some improvements in the Poly stuff that you'd want to see?

For me, I'd want to see more parts molded in the dominant color. Take Emil's upper body part, for example. Is it molded in yellow? Nope. It's molded in white plastic, then painted. Same with their hair pieces. They should be molded in the color they're supposed to be, rather than painted. Would also solve a few of their "peg doesn't want to fit/peg stuck in hole" issues in some cases too, as not having paint glooping into the holes or thickening them unwittingly would help.

Although the idea of paint transfer is kind of worrying.

What I feel is sorely (and kind of bafilingly) lacking from the Polynian line are gripping hands with poly joints instead of solid pegs.
They make sword poses feel a bit awkward.
Also maybe they could loosen the grip a bit.

I would like to see improvement on the paint and decal application. As well as the ironing out of QC problems. I'm also slightly disappointed by the way the molding on the faces seems warped? I don't know if that is from paint application but I'd like to see that improvement too. Improvement in plastic materials as well. I have figma way older than this line and they age better than these. I'm having a hard time believing that the yellowing is solely from dirt/oil deposit. I wash my hands before I touch my figures, but I heard that some anons would hardly touch their polys and they're already seeing yellowing.

It depends if the cost of whatever color of plastic is cheaper than the cost of just doing everything in 1 color followed by blasting it with paint. But it generally would be cheaper too, and wouldn't suffer from paint issues.

Yeah, the gripping hands not being the same as the rest is an odd choice. I can sort of get the logic, that they don't want the weapons to be too heavy so they move the ball joints, but you could just turn the ball joint properly so it can't bend in whatever direction you don't want it bending in.

Suck? No, but it isn't stellar. However if you can watch for fun and understand that the focus is really the character interactions and don't have panic attacks at 'pantyshots' it can be quite enjoyable.

Brave Witches (the really recent anime) takes a more serious, refined approach which I enjoyed more and is the whole reason I finally dived into Strike Witches. MC in BW is also more grounded in a few ways.

Basically watch it using the child in you to appreciate the awe and wonder of a new fiction. The books also offer quite the vast array of character dynamics. Not all are buddy-buddy.

There's something that really worries me about this body: swap potential.

I mean, yeah, we can combine Shamrock's head and hips (huge bulge included) with the huge balloon tits piece...

As I was writing, we can swap pieces of this new body type with some of shamrock and clover pieces... and that's it. Apparently, no holes or additional pieces have been shown, so most accessories of the other toys can't be combined with them. No skirt, or sandals, or cap, or whatever.

It really worries me that the thicc-bot will be limited to be only swappable with the most incredible expensive figures and that's it. It will be like the grey shamrock and clover variants all over again.

Unless they start a new line of thicc-bots, with totally original characters like NotGalko, NotPochaco or NotCattleya.

Eh, the current figures honestly aren't too swappable outside of the original whites, the two greys (but only with each other), and everyones heads being put on another's body (again, except for the greys). Man, the greys were a terrible fucking decision. Emil swaps well with Yume for some parts since they're both dressed in school outfits, but thats about it.

But yeah, not much is gonna get swapped outside of head swaps, currently, so don't worry too much about it. Honestly at this point they'd probably be better off just releasing new head kits with different hair, or hand gestures/weapon kits. Each time they make a wholly new body, the parts don't really combine well with the others, other than by shoving a different head on this new body.

First Yume had tons of QC issues. Loose joints, yellowing, etcetera. Daibadi basically re-released her with a different coating to preserve the value of the few original-release figures that didn't fall apart or yellow. I don't own either, but the re-release is way more worth it IMO for the reduced risk of getting a trash figure

On the re-release Yume the hip joint for the right leg peg is loose, at least on mine and a few other anons' figs.

On mine the peg that holds the skirt in place is also loose. It's a shame because I like the figure a lot but posing her is an act of frustration because she's always falling apart.

I want Vania too but I'm going to wait until release and hear how she turns out before buying.

Could there be a way of somehow modding this thing so that the joints don't come off every time? I'm not talking about increasing the interference using glue or future polish. More like a mechanical modification to somehow lock the joints in the sockets.

You are correct. It's just that this isn't such a problem with figmas and revoltechs and I still can partswap. I don't mean a forever stuck there solution, something just to make it a little harder to come off but still allow for smooth joint movement. The grey ones are much harder to move and I'm afraid I'll break it.

Ive been really busy lately so I haven't had time to try to make the small pegs bigger and pink stickers for the insides but you can use small piece of paper as a placeholder.
Since the holes are at a slight angle as well some of the ears dont sit as nicely as you may like.

I was going to try some layers of futureshine since it was recommended to me here and from customs general.
If not that super glue, the paper bits work surprisingly well though so I may stick with it for a while and try to make it look nicer.

So I just bought pic related off of the Mandarake Urban Mines and as you might expect, a major head piece was missing. The "bangs", side hair pieces, and everything else are there (even the faceplaces are there), but whatever the main head thing is that everything up there connects to is missing.

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but is there a way to buy a replacement piece? I don't want to buy a whole 'nother Emil just for that one lil thing.
