Finally got around to opening up the Dodai. Dang, I am so glad anon enticed me to pick this up! A really excellent set; the Dodai itself is beautifully done (I love how the various swappable panels completely blend in and are securely attached, yet easy to remove when you want) and the accessories/effect parts are a sweet complement to the Gouf.

Terribly overcast all weekend though, so couldn't take decent shots.

>>6221228
>What are the chances I'd be able to put the 0 Gundam Full Armor's armor on the Roll Out Colors version?
I'm going to guess that the new one will be larger than the previous one, as that's been the trend for RDs, so it might be possible to put the armor on the previous one (albeit loosely). Pure speculation, though!

>>6221233
>I'd be okay with that so long as we got 08th ms team, stardust and the other gundams from IBO.

>No mention of 0080
Dang anon, you used to be cool... haha, but yeah, I could totally go for 08th Team and 0083 RDs.
>>
>>6225394
Right, I forgot there were RDs of FMP. I'll have to look back into them once I've cleared all the anime, trying to make it "last" till new season.

I don't know. There might be an even bigger possibility of them in UU. UU has the gimmick of putting 2 of the same figure in a wave each one coming with different options parts. Leo would be perfect with a ground configuration and space type.

But the chances are still really low.

so who managed to preorted the rerelease of the 00 7 Sword Metal Build? can we expect an improvement in the actual body or something since it was the very first MB release? or only the addition of the extra sword/rifle thing?
>>
>>6225962
>can we expect an improvement in the actual body or something
No. It's the exact same body as the original, but with the addition of the sword/rifle and some new markings giving Bandai an excuse to tack another 5000-6000 yen onto the pricetag.

This re-release is about as lazy as it gets.
>>
>>6225962
the only improvement to be expected is tighter joints.

>>6226202
lets not forget this is a high demand reissue , just the fact that it's getting a reissue and that they're actually adding in the GN Sword II Blaster shows they are not as lazy as you say they are. Compare to the going rate of a Seven Sword, the price is well justifiable. It wasn't even that hard to preorder it, you just need to be ready before pre order time and you'll good to go.,
>>
>>6226246
I fucked up expecting it show up in HLJ's catalog when preorders opened. Should have known to look elsewhere for a direct link but by then it was too late.

Still, you'd expect HLJ to show the product they were planning to sell ON THEIR WEBSITE instead of forcing customers to look for links BACK to the site.
>>
>>6226274
no because the site crashes
>>
>>6226285
And yet Amiami with their potato-tier website can handle the load?
>>
>>6225729
Nah if they did it in UU it would just be one with the dober gun and one with the machine gun and maybe a shield. They don't try nearly that hard with this line; they made people buy two fucking z'goks just to get a different pair of hands.
>>
>>6226295
amiami website crashed also.

the only one didn't crash was cdjapan because they freakin hided their Seven sword link. lol. and of course sold out when I found the link.
>>
>>6226274
MB preorders in HLJ are gone in like 5 minutes at maximum
maybe they do it to avoid them selling out in seconds? I dunno, trying to preorder MB or the DX Macross chogokins in any other site is impossible
>>
>>6226475
It's weird because I preordered Exia from the catalog last year without issue so I assumed it would be the same this time. Oh well, at least I got my Chinese KO as a substitute...
>>
>>6226498
It's a pretty damn good substitute, I got one myself and love it. the joints and metals are nice and tight. Everything feels about right. The only thing that feels cheaper is the display stand, but still holds pretty solid and locked correctly.
all I really need is for them to release their GN weapons set (bunch of swords with GN sword 2 blaster)

Didn't have much time to mess around (and the sun was going down) so only opened up Jim as I figured he'd be the easiest to play with quickly. Not many surprises here, but a good solid, straightforward RD. Will pick up another one during a sale.

>>6226894
Can't help on the Strike Noir, but for some great RD hero/villain mobile suits (I'm guessing you mean like main protag/antagonists by that, and not just grunts?):

any of the Gundams from Wing vs. Epyon/Tallgeese

Full Action Unicorn vs. Sinanju/Banshee/Kshatriya

ANIME RX-78 vs. ANIME Gouf/Dom

Freedom vs. Providence/Justice

Nu vs. Sazabi (mixed opinions about this set, just noting it as an option)

Xi vs. Penelope (Marking Plus versions, of course!)

Ex-S vs. Mk-V Marking ver. (just going off the previous release of Mk-V, which was solid but not as nice looking)

Full Armor Gundam Mk-II.
>>
>>6226894
People generally take issue with the stylized face sculpt of the Strike Noir, but other than that it's a solid release (along with all the other newer SEED suits).

As for your second question it really depends on the series/designs you like (and availability). But just from my collection I can say my favourites are:
Gundam F91
Nu Gundam
Zaku II (Hardpoint ver.)
ANIME Full Armor RX78 Gundam
Unicorn & Banshee Gundams
Sinanju
Leo (or any of the Wing releases)
Cherudim Saga Gundam
ELS Qan[T]
Perfect Strike Gundam

To name a few.

Just got my Full Armor Gundam in the mail and I am blown away by how nice it is. The armor snaps on and stays on perfectly.

Also is it just me or does the Gundam "disassemble" more than the original ANIME RX-78? I can pop the upper arms right out of the shoulder and the whole head/neck block slides right out of the torso. Not loosely of course. It's actually kinda nice and makes putting some of the armor on easier. Do we know if this was intentional?

MB Astray Red Frame Kai and Tactical Arms II L option set are up, opening for pre-order on 3/10 and releasing in September.

http://p-bandai.jp/item/item-1000112976/
http://p-bandai.jp/item/item-1000112977/

The fact that they're releasing it as both an option set for people who already have the original release and as a standalone figure for people who don't already own the Red Astray gives me hope that they'll release the Blue Astray 2nd Revise as a standalone figure too.

And yet I still want the full armor 0 Gundam just as much.

The 2 "completely different" looks and just how it's the more subtle side of the coin to the RX-78 full armor, while also referencing it has me sold. Just love the "when worlds collide" feeling it gives off.

Do you mean the effects included with the ANIME Gundam releases?

The effects are fully cross-compatible among ANIME releases. The effect attachment points (of which there are a couple, such as thruster points, weapon effect points, etc.) are universally sized so you can freely swap among the ANIME RDs, and in fact you're even encouraged to do so in the instructions.

As an example, the muzzle flash effect on the Zaku's cannon in the background is from Char's Zaku II.

The effect parts are generally not compatible with other RDs though, as they simply haven't been designed with the effect attachment points. Will be awesome if Bandai starts to design all their future RDs (not just ANIME releases) with this effect compatibility in mind, though!

>>6229894
Get a good firm grip at the base of the saber and make sure you're pushing/pulling straight out/in. The plastic used for the beam sabers is actually relatively flexible and resistant to snapping so you don't need to be too worried about breaking it.

I once dropped a saber-wielding RD as I was taking it off a shelf and it land right on the saber. Instead of breaking off inside the hilt, the saber just bent at the little attachment area and I was able to easily bend it back into shape with no ill effects (used some hot water to heat up the bent area just to be safe before reshaping it, though).

Just keep your force even and straight as you work the saber blade and you should be fine!

>>6229930
Awesome, that's great to hear!
>>
>>6229940
Man, when I first got my A.N.I.M.E. Gundam I posed him beside my White Dingo GM Sniper II similar to this, and I just love how good they look beside each other.

>>
>>6230494

My one real gripe about the 31's design though, is it has kind of a stubby, fat nose, haha. Not very sleek, especially compared to the nose of the 25/29 series.

I had the YF-30 for a while but the metal hip swing bar on mine was so goddamn loose that the figure could barely pose, so I just sold it off.
>>
>>6235087
everytime I look at the VF-19 Advance it shows that Bandai really went the extra mile on it by giving it tons of small tiny detail that you still don't find in the recent valks.
>>
>>6235100
It is now worth 30-40k yen.

Back in 2015 before August, it was still 20-22k yen unopened.
>>
>>6235164
I could go and buy it back at Macross World right now for $200 if I felt like it from others. I only sold it for around that price a couple months ago.

Meanwhile the VF-19 Advance price has never stopped going up.
>>

The VF-19 is really nice, but It never satisfied that itch for Arcadia's, which I ended up buying. Bandai's is the better toy, but arcadia feels more right to me.

bandai makes a good Valk, but the preordering bullshit makes it hard for me to really go all-in.

I hear ya, if the Chronos didn't have such an attractive fighter mode I'd consider doing the same. Can't resist that delta wing though, haha. Also the fact that it has a proper nemesis valk in the Perceval makes it a keeper for me.

The VF-31 is pretty ace in that respect as well! Tampo printed detail all over the place, a lot of it very small subtle details that you don't immediately notice too.

Oh man, time really flies! Can't believe we're coming up on the Draken's release already (reminds me that Miria's Hi-Metal VF-1J is coming soon too!).

And grats on getting into DX Chogokins! I think you're gonna enjoy it! While we can't say for sure how the Draken is til folks start getting it in-hand, but with how well the VF-31 turned out I'm pretty confident in the Draken's awesomeness.

Please post your thoughts once you get it, as I'm interested to see what you think of the Draken as your first DX and I'm gonna be waiting for a little bit before shipping my Draken.

Still just listed as March, though if I did know the exact date I'm not sure I'd share, as I don't need more competition for the Mandarake scramble!

The VF-31 didn't really do anything for me, and everything I've seen and heard of Delta doesn't appeal to me, but a transforming, diecast Saab delta-winged fighter was just too sexy to resist. I hear ya, I was fortunate enough to start collecting DXs right around when Ozma was being reissued so I got him for a great price, but I had to pay the late-tax on the armor. Still, I got relatively lucky by "only" paying less than $200 (like $175 or so after shipping) for the armor.

I can't believe it's actually called Lil Draken, that's so adorable, haha. Thanks for the video link too, been looking forward to that. Never finished the series so I didn't get a good idea of how the Draken transforms. Some pretty unique elements there.

>>6239710
Haha, that's remarkably similar to my own DX collection, except for the extra Ozma/Alto (though, I did have a spare Alto at one point).

Do you think you'll eventually end up grabbing all the VF-31 molds? Kinda on the fence about that myself. I don't care as much about the Delta pilots as I did the Frontier ones, and I'm not a big fan of some of the color schemes (no black/yellow trim on the VF-31S breaks my heart, haha). Messer and Mirage are buys for me, but everyone else I may pass on.

I hear ya, though from what I watched of Delta, while there were some iffy bits, I really loved how the focus was on valk vs. valk combat.

And oh man, if you have any interest in the Draken's accessory pack, I highly suggest preordering as soon as you're able to. The web exclusive option parts for DX valks always jump in price on the secondary market after release, ESPECIALLY for main character valks. Just gets worse the longer after release, for example the super parts for Alto's YF-29 (which is a relatively small set of parts) now cost more than the valk itself, I believe.

Definitely grabbing the Draken set myself, the baby Drakens are too cute (love how they have landing gear!) and the sword is too awesome!

It's called a Robeast. It acts like a killer robot, but actually it's piloted by a pile of goo called a Dalek. They took over the earth in this 80's cartoon called Mospeada, and the whole show is about how mankind fights the Daleks, but just when they are about to win back the earth, the humans and Daleks discover their mutual love of a super robot cartoon called Macross. Everyone's love of Macross reaches such heights with this revelation that the humans and the Daleks all turn into Tang and the planet is reborn with a new hybrid race that only communicates using lyrics from the song "My boyfriend is a pilot." It's huge in Japan. It's like their version of Star Plan.

Change the Full Cloth into the new mantle mode and it gets a little less annoying. And really, if you think the Full Cloth is bad you clearly haven't messed around with the regular ABC on the RD X1 Custom vFA. Fuck that thing.

X3 is the same thing with the main difference being a difference effect part on the tip of the Muramasa and the brand markers being replaced with I-Field Generators. Putting the I-Field effect parts on them is much less annoying than doing the same with the X1 FC's skull I Field generators.

It's really not worth it though; X3 has a real dearth of actual pose options. Anything it can do, the X1 FC can do with the bonus of not having an awful color scheme.

This thing?

Ehhh... Could be fun as an RD, given how awesome some of the other ANIME designs have turned out. But not something I'll be clamoring for.
>>
>>6246240
There isn't one figure/model kit where it actually does work. The design's impractical as fuck but it does look cool.

Myself I display it either without the backpack when the armor's on, or without the armor when the backpack's on. Stops things bumping into each other.
>>
>>6247367
God. There's Zaku levels of remold potential with a Gelgoog. At a bare minimum you'd have normal and Char's variants, Hi-Mobility, Cannon, Desert type, and I guess you could result do the refitted ReGelg or whatever it was from the Zeta series at a bare minimum. Plus other individual ace variants.
>>
Does anyone here own the Age RDs? I want to know what kind of joints are on the shoulders/arms that connect to the main body.

Basically, I want to know if the whole arm/shoulder pieces are compatible with other non-Age RDs. Please help! I have looked for pictures online but nothing has really answered my query.

Glad to see this fat fuck is getting made.

And if we're gonna be getting stupid ass vehicles like the gatling car we'd better get a dopp and an updated magella.

I think we will be getting RD Galient in the future for sure.

I like it mostly because it's so damn different from the usual valkyrie, awkwardness included. I've never even seen Macross Delta to know what it's like in canon, let alone get attached to it or any characters using it. It's just ungainly, weird, and different and I love it for that. I'm just REALLY not eager to try and transform it again.

So I added the ANIME MS-09 Dom to my hardpoint RX-78 and Zaku. I noticed how tall the Dom looks in comparison. Looking up the Dom is at 130mm while the old RX-78 is 120mm. ANIME RX-78 is 125mm, Zaku stayed 125mm throughout the version. Anyone know why they changed the height and if the overall scale increased with the ANIME version of RX-78?

The transformation is not really that hard, it's just time consuming. once you do it 2 times you should have no problems transforming it like it was nothing, it just take longer because you need to move pieces out of the way to engage a part and then move that piece back in place.

Which renewal are you looking for?
>>
>>6248377
there is no scale in this line, it's'll be close but there's no actual scale set.

Now that I've done it once and have a rough idea of what I'm doing and tolerances and all, I'd feel more comfortable doing it again. I'm just not in a hurry to do it again right now. I already have my Lil' Drakens pre-ordered via MyKombini, too. Far more convenient to have a ~$40 deposit over having to pay ~$100 for the whole thing right now.

That's the official stance, but these days most Gundam stuff tends to hit around 1/144. This pic has the RD Freedom on the left and the HGCE Freedom on the right. And from personal experience, I know that RD DX, RD Impulse, RD G-Self and RD God are pretty much 1/144.

The main exception is the regular RD UC line, since the robot heights are big enough that 1/144 is just impractical. The main exceptions are the Katoki stuff (which is always 1/144) and as far as I know the ANIME line.

The same thing everyone means when they say stylized: Exia's proportions were radically changed up for its MB incarnation. Ebikawa drew new lineart and made new gimmicks and everything, it's particularly obvious if you look at MB Avalanche Exia where he was allowed to go even further.

Wow, I couldn't believe it, Ozma is now 30k yen just for the fighter itself, and the armored parts are nowhere to be sold individually.

Seems like I missed some excitement while on vacation. Loving the new Gogg and accessories.

Also 2chan has pics of the Guntank w/ white base set.

I'm not a big fan of the Gogg, but without it, we never would've gotten the glory that is the Hygogg. would love to see a Damashii of that someday.

Not a big fan of the Gogg either. It's not that I dislike it, I'm just kind of indifferent to it. Although anything that gets us to the Gelgoog and Zeong faster is OK in my book.

It looks...purple.

Pretty sure thats that dark navy blue that they seem to use a lot. Nuu's pics do make it look purple tho.

Neither of those are from MSG tho. Let them finish most of the MSG suits before they start doing other series.
>>
>>6254542
then they're just announce another series that nobody asked for
>>
>>6254793
You're assuming everyone thinks like you do, which isn't the case at all. Plenty of people asked for more MSG RD's before the ANIME line started, I was of them.
>>
>>6254992
I personally like that they're doing MSG. Most series outside of UC are just convoluted messy MGs that are just incarnations of past suits.

I don't mind MGSs, just hope they didn't have to do it with chubby ANIME porportions

MGS is the antithesis of ANIME anyway
