What other BW characters do you think deserve updated figures?

Airazor needs a new toy, partly because she/he doesn't have a good show-accurate figure, and partly because I want Based Sakamoto-Senpai's crossdressing office lady in plastic form.
>>
>>6222721
>What other BW characters do you think deserve updated figures?

Rhinox, Rattrap, Megs, Dinobot, Black Arachnia, Tarantulas, Waspinator. Not in that order, mind you. Just those are the ones that I feel deserve MP's. Also if I had it my way, Cheetor wouldn't have gotten any MP, because really, was he ANYONES favorite? I always saw him as annoying.

To connect to other leader class bases, like PMOP, Blaster, Soundwave, and Black Shadow.

And yeah, that's pretty much Sxishot's base mode, his other modes don't work too well for that.
>>
>>6222732
I don't remember exactly but I believe he was some hasbro executive's favorite so they had him get a ton more screentime than he deserved.

Also, popular in japan.
>>
Does anyone collect early 90s Transformers, like G2 and Turbomasters? I never cared much about them until I saw pic related in the TFW "30 Years of Transformers" articles, and goddamnit, they look so colorful and cheerful. Much like G1s are interesting vintage period pieces, these also invoke some form of bizarre nostalgia despite the fact that I never owned one of them as a kid.
>>
>>6222732
>>6222744
Hasbro really wanted to push him, but the show runners seemed to dislike him. His Transmetal form has a "heart" on his belly that was meant to glow whenever he did "heroic deeds", but they never implemented it. In fact, Cheetor spends most of season 2 being humiliated or ignored, then his upgrade in S3 makes him uglier.

As for why he was chosen, it was probably for the same reason Sideswipe was the first non-leader MP; easy to make retools for, and a cool design.

Literally every show character. Well, except for Ravage and Starscream.

Unrelated to OP, what parts of LG and TR Astrotrain are painted gray/white instead of being molded in it?
>>
>>6222755
S3 Cheetor was interesting in so far as he stopped being a god-awful "kid" character and started evolving and rebelling against Prime with his second stage Transmetal mode.

Sadly, all of that character development got wiped away in Beast Machines. They should have had Cheetor vs Primal be the main arc of season one with Cheetor expelling Prime from the Maximals as Primal got more and more crazy pants from interacting with the Oracle and culminate in Primal dying at the end of season one and Cheetor becoming the new Maximal leader/liberating Cybertron in season two
>>
>>6222761
>Well, except for Ravage

I've always wanted to see someone do BW Ravage as an MP Rumble/Frenzy style figure, to pull off his silly cassette form he should, by no means, turn into.
>>
>>6222751
The Cyberjets have a rather large cult following: they were among the first group of Transformers to have a large amount of articulation in terms of having ball joint articulation.

When /toy/ first launched, one of the very first info-graphs made for this board was an info-graph of all known Cyberjet releases for fans to track them down.

On the TR, the only parts that I can tell are painted grey are the entire fronts of his legs starting at the knee down. They're cast in black plastic and painted grey. His feet are grey plastic though.

I want muh Depth Charge. And TM2 Cheetor was a sick design.
>>

No no no.......Hasbro did playtests and such. Cheetor was clearly the favorite among kids age 6-13. They used to do these weird like, survey things with kids. Let em in a room to play with the toys. They still do them, my cousin knows someone who works for a toy company and she brings her kids.

>>6222755
It was certainly a hasbro push. I think the showrunners were happy to keep cheetor around, he wasn't a bad character, they knew it was a kids show to sell toys. That's why cheetor got a re-release later and 3 forms and so on. Screen time had to be allocated to him though, which is frustrating. There's essentially 0 rhinox centric episodes in season 3, cause he was an old toy, but couldn't be afforded a new form, that has to suck as a writer.
>>
>>6222805
>No no no.......Hasbro did playtests and such. Cheetor was clearly the favorite among kids age 6-13. They used to do these weird like, survey things with kids. Let em in a room to play with the toys. They still do them, my cousin knows someone who works for a toy company and she brings her kids.

Not really surprised they'd have some kind of toy testing room for kids. I mean, thats the surest way to see if they'd like the toys, right? Bring some kids in, let'em have a go at the figures, see what sticks.
>>
Who here /StillSaltyDinobot2WasAnIrredeemableVillain/?
>>
>>6222807

It's actually really fucked up, they have more kids than toys. Like If there's 12 kids in a room, they'll only have 6 cheetors, they see who the kids fight over.
>>
>>6222805
Cheetor was apparently the hottest tf toy during the early BW run. There is even a scalpers documentary shot in the 90s that mention this.

>>6222807
They still do. I think one of the Gawker media platforms did an article of tf supply side during the Prime/BH era and they mentioned this.
>>
>>6222792
Thank you.
It also looks like the entire TR helmet is painted white, while only the face itself on the LG version.

>>6222805
Why not just kill off Rhinox? The only reason Waspinator got to stay was because he was a fan favorite, but I don't think Rhinox was.
>>
>>6222732
hoping we get a Transmetal Tarantulas rather than the original, it was much more iconic a look. Blackarachnia would be nice too.
>>
>>6222828
>Why not just kill off Rhinox? The only reason Waspinator got to stay was because he was a fan favorite, but I don't think Rhinox was.
Mainframe had a lot more control over the story than recent shows, and new character models were very expensive. so the cast was kept small and consistent.
>>
>>6222732
I can't remember why but I liked Cheetor.
I still could tell everyone else was a better character, though.
>>
>>6222828
Rhinox was also a fan favorite. I would've been more pissed if he died than Waspinator.
>>
Why kill Terrorsaur though? He was a cool character who even got a TM figure.
>>
>>6222837
kid friendly character (ex. Bumblebee, Hotshot, Wheelie/Daniel).
>>
>>6222842
He wasn't popular with kids and they were suffering a character bloat in S2 when they had to introduce new characters.

Same with basically everyone else they killed off.
>>
>>6222828

They were allowed to keep some characters. Just the new character models had to have featured episodes. Dinobot II gets featured very heavily after his introduction. Similarly Rampage had stories where he is the center. TV shows budget and stuff gets weird in general.

One of the rumors is that go with the flow was a show written to cover for canceled scripts. Really, episodes like it crossing the rubicon were done as a way to buy time to introduce more toys. The episode order got shifted and suddenly all these new forms(toys) ended up appearing in all the last episodes. Which was not intended. The budget and time just didn't work out. They had to get designs from hasbro and then make them and then make all the episodes in time.

So eventually you needed characters like waspinator and rhinox, who you knew you could insert into an episode with no issue.
>>
>>6222846
I literally only liked Cheetor out of those, committee-guided character design is a flawed theory.
I hated Hot Shot, I never cared for Wheelie, and I wished Bumblebee could fuck off so others could get more screen-time even if Bumblebee wasn't all that in your face in G1.
>>
>>6222842
I wish they had kept Terrorsaur over Waspinator. Waspinator' joke had run its course and after Tarantulas went solo it felt like the only "serious" Preds left where Megatron, Rampage, and Blackarachnia, who soon defected. BW Megatron needed a better team.

I think his head is molded in grey and only the yellow is painted on. Also, he's not white, he's a light grey.
>>
>>6222842

That was hasbro didn't want to push the 5 dollar toys any more. The toys were selling, so sell bigger toys. They knew the 10 dollar ones had more potential. Terrorsaur, rattrap and airrazor all got retired as of season 1. They wanted to push bigger toys, as they all had recoloring potential and so on. Quickstrike almost didn't get used for this reason, funnily enough, he's never gotten used again, but they felt his toy would work well as a character model, the snake head was interesting, it was almost sky shadow. They just had a good pitch on the character that Quickstrike would be and couldn't figure anything for the other Fuzors, as they had to include 1 Fuzor.

There was actually a push to keep terrorsaur around, possibly brought back as a transmental later. Doug Parker was kept on staff, cause everyone loved him, but it never worked out. Oddly the preds did only get two TM characters while the maximals got 3.

Weird shit was going on with inferno not selling, and needing a new form or dying and "scavenger" and it got messy.

>>
>>6222828
Rhynox was INSANELY popular. So much so that one of the central reasons why Beast Machines was shitted on by fans, was due to the fact that Rhynox's character was scorched earthed.

Also, Rhynox DID have a new toy; he and Waspinator BOTH got transmetal toys; however, for pure budgetary reasons, they kept their original designs for the entire run of BW.
>>
>>6222842
>>6222851

Nope; he was killed off once Waspinator got a reprieve (he was supposed to die in Terrorsaur's place).

Also, Waspinator>Terrorsaur. They had Tarantulas to fill the role of Starscream, plus he was competent as well. Terrorsaur was incompetent and expendable since his wannabe Starscream thing was his only gimmick
>>
>>6222867
>Every show character got a Transmetal and only show characters got Transmetals.

It's a shame that nobody cared about Scorponok and Quickstrike was protoformed wrong as a joke.
Scorponok might've not been the most competent on the team but he was still the most loyal, sane, proactive, and the team's safe and conventional inventor. Megatron could actually rely on him save for how quickly he got defeated in battle in later season one episodes.
I'd rather have Sky Shadow for the Predacon Fuzor too; Quickstrike was fun but he became a red shirt after his first major battle, meanwhile the maximals got a talented and strong fighter with a strict moral compass. And Sky Shadow's bio sounded awesome, it's kind of like they were planning for having both so they made Silverbolt the diametrical opposite of Sky Shadow in the show.

>>6222878
I thought they had made a character model of his transmetal form.
>>
>>6222751
The only one I have is Skyquake, and he's great. He's got a scope on his back that let you aim his carpet bombs in jet mode, and which had a photo slide mechanism that interacted with the smaller jets.

Sadly, I think Machine Wars gets more love for those larger molds than the original uses, because KB Exclusive in the US is apparently a bigger deal than "Canada and Europe."

I will likely never ever find the source on this. But some 3-5 additional TM2 toys were planned and slated to be released but were canceled. We never saw prototypes, they were just listed before we ever saw the toys. The names were listed. Scorponok as one such release. I think as a Mega, which TM2 never had an "official" predacon mega.

Supposedly animorphs cut in to the lines budget and some had to be scrapped.

TM2 is the only wave to not have an optimus. It's a little odd to think about. Most of these designs seem to be TM and not TM2, however, TM2 was just sloppy asymetrical TM. So it could be changed before a final release pretty easily anyway without disrupting the transformation.

With season three of BW, the toy offices moved back to Pawtucket from Kenner in Cinci. It was literally a whole new team of bosses, suddenly telling Bob and Larry to do things different than they had done for 39 episodes.

This new team didn't like the adult jokes and mature storytelling of BW and as a result we got an episode with the cave kids.

I know Bob and Larry created a whole series bible for what became Beast Machines. Hasbro even did several toys based on those intial character designs.

When Fox Kids found out that their new 30 minute toy advent was paying it's showrunners the same $$ as the guys from the Simpsons, the told B&L to take a 75% pay cut to keep writing the show or leave. They left. Before Hasbro and Fox paid them for the story bible they had written and had been using! Fox Kids refused to pay them and so Hasbro had to ditch every part of the story bible. The toy molds eventually got used for diffrent characters and the show's premise was flipped.

Beast HUNTERS had Megatron turning all of Cybertron into techoorganic beasts like him. Cheetor would switch sides. The returning Maximals would all assume vehicle forms. If you look at either Jetstorm toy, you'll notice an Optimus style head crest and face. They were designed to be the new Optimus Primal. Rattrap would have had the Thrust mold. Rhinox wasn't changed. He was always Tankor, just not called that and he stayed loyal to OP. Cheetor would eventually switch back and get a race car design, that would instead be used for the Vehicon Mirage figure.

Hasbro wasn't happy about Cheetor ever being a bad guy, That and their fueding with B&L kept them from fighting Fox to keep them at their going rates.

The utter ratings and toy sales failure of Beast MACHINES shows how wrong Fox and Hasbro were.

This is something I knew existed.

Apparently if you buy all three kinds, you can build a tiny Fort Max that I imagine is deluxe-scaled at best.

At that price though, no thanks.

Each component can become a base on its own, which is probably the best part about it. Because it can potentially make a base that isn't blatantly a robot lying down.

>I know Bob and Larry created a whole series bible for what became Beast Machines. Hasbro even did several toys based on those intial character designs.

This is wrong. Bob and Larry were cancelled with the show. They did several exit interviews during the end of BW that made clear they were uninvolved with BM. They were never hired onto BM since the producer was Dan Didio and he hired a bunch of comic book people he knew such as Steve Gerber and Marv Wolfman (writer of the season 3 episode Return of Optimus Prime and who ultimately wrote the BM show bible) to develop and work on the show.

>Beast HUNTERS had Megatron turning all of Cybertron into techoorganic beasts like him. Cheetor would switch sides.

Again this is fan fiction from allspark from the early 00s circulated by people like Chris McFeely and M. Siper and largely based on their personal feelings about the show (they loathed it for various reasons). There is no proof of any of this.
>>
>>6223168
Authenticity aside, one huge thing I could see being different if Bob and Larry stayed on was that they probably wouldn't have Cheetor being second-in-command.. Instead, they'd push Rattrap,a character they seemed to love(and previously shown could lead), and they disliked Cheetor. Cheetor becoming leader felt very "mandated"; he was there because before Silverbolt came back he was the only other cool looking male Maximal besides Optimus. Had the old team stayed on, they might've pushed Rattrap to have a cooler design, and set him up at a secondary leader. It helps that all the covert ops the Maximals where doing was his speciality.

Making him the tech guy was a huge mistake. That should've been Blackarachnia's thing. By season 3 she was more of the Maximal's engineer than Rhinox was.
>>
>>6223269
I think Cheetor being the leader was due to Skir/Isenberg's shallow understanding of the source material. If you look at the various arcs for the original Maximals aside from Optimus: most of them were generated by their initial impressions of the characters.

For example BA's original arc with femme!Nightscream seems inspired by her being a strong female character like Ridley from Aliens so they decided to add a Newt character (in this case Nightscream). Likewise Silverbolt reminded them of the 60s Adam West Batman so naturally they decided to make him a "mature" and "adult" character after he was unbrainwashed from being Jetstorm. Going by this pattern, what happened to Cheetor is thus viewing him principally as the kid character and aging him up.

Still, any use of the Trigger Happy mold is a plus.
>>

Why is Misfire's head pink instead of black? Totally messes up the balance of color.
>>
>>6223343
Looks like they both use a modified version of the trigger happy mold.

The only parts that stand out as Triggerhappy's are the elbow piece, and the legs. The hands might be included but I can't tell.

Between them, they seem to share the shame shoulder connection piece, and the pelvis.

No. They're both Topspin molds, along with Twintwist.

I hope those are preliminary colors. It looks like every white colored bit is painted.

Misfire look like they're final. The only painted bits seem to be on the legs, which might be molded in the correct color on release. Slugslinger appears to be completely molded in blue, so he's the one to watch out for.

>>
>>6223402
Enjoy being blind. On the Triggerhappy mold, part of the cockpit becomes the torso. Where the fuck is that on either of these molds? NOWHERE. Both of their torsos come from hidden parts beneath the chassis, which is what the Topspin mold does.

Both molds have the legs fold over to become the aft of the ship, so a similarity there is nothing to write home about. Like I said, with your logic, Chromedome is a remold of Blurr.

It's been confirmed at Toy Fair Australia to be Triggerhappy retools by Hasbro reps. They're just using the torso backwards compared to Triggerhappy (Like Fortress Maximus/Metroplex) which is why their chests don't appear on the jet in robot mode.

I loved the shit out of that thing when I was a kid but it's hard to find many now that haven't been affected by GPS.
>>
>>6223440

What about gold plastic makes it so shitty?
>>
>>6222823
Cheetor was not hot because he was hot shit. He was hot because he was rare.

In the first wave Cheetor was supposed to be there but got pushed back so his tail gun could be redesigned and his gut gun could be made less realistic. As a result when he finally did come out he had to be short packed into a later wave, and this combined with him being a show character made him more desirable

So they rereleased the toy twice with different eye colours and gave Cheetor the MOST toys out of any character in BW. He got more repaints and rereleases than Optimus and Megatron combined.

In order to get the plastic to have a metallic gold colour and iridescence, the plastic has a particular chemical added to it that gets brittle over time.
>>
>>6223444
http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Gold_Plastic_Syndrome

> The problem likely arises, as with many composites, when the bonding between the polymer and the dye/particles breaks down. This could occur do to a natural chemical/phase change of the plastic, due to oxidation, for example, or by another mechanism, say the forces incurred by the toy being played with, or more likely, due to some combination thereof. In any case, when the bonds between the particles and the polymers break down, you would get small voids in the plastic structure. If this occurs frequently enough, the structure would become effectively porous (that is, it would be filled with lots of tiny voids/cracks where the polymers and particles have come apart). With even a slight amount of force, some of these cracks/voids could expand, even slightly, to the point where they intersect another void and join, making an even bigger crack. Once a critical crack length is reached, the sample fractures.

>>6223168

Ive seen this posted before with almost NOTHING to back it up. There's no way Hasbro doesn't own the characters outright so there's no issue with crediting a creator. BW and BM have no creator, it's "based on" the toys and hence why the toys had tech specs, so there was technically written lore for the characters and stories to be "based" on. There is 0 leverage for Bob or Larry to argue this through the WAG if they "stole" their ideas. The idea they'd have to go opposite for the sake of a lawsuit is fucking absurd.

I mean, do you have ANY kind of proof to back this up, because it goes against everything we know and seems like utter horse shit and isn't even logical.

From what I had always heard, Bob Skir was hired because he worked for fox, they had good experience with him before and he was made show runner from the get go. Everything he did was a hasbro/fox collaboration. It was that simple. Larry and Bob were not asked back. They wrote NOTHING for Beast Machines. Again, please prove me wrong some how. It still seems like utter fucking "my dad works at nintendo" horse shit.

Around 2015, though, Hasbro basically started stabbing us in the back. They offered solid cases that were really just leftovers _if_ they were ever delivered. There is also coming back Megatron,Steeljaw,Soundwave,Smokescreen,Starscream,Shockwave,Arcee,Knockout. There will be a big fight bettewn Mega and Cyclonus, also Cyclonus voice is just badass and this season is really good, they have also hints for the future sequels...They are coming...for all of us.

Hot Rod is not a bad mold, IMO. And Twinferno seems alright enough.

Honestly, if you're that jonesing for Triggerhappy, pull the trigger. Worst case you get two extra heads to play around with the gimmick, and two enemies for him to beat up.
>>
>>6224177
So what exactly does Hasbro get out of this deal considering Walmart won't fucking stock anything anyway?

They might as well have just told them to stop selling transformers.
>>
>>6224192
Wal-Mart has basically a veto of what Hasbro can do given the amount of Hasbro toys they purchase. This is basically the advantage/disadvantage of having one entity with so much purchasing power.

Just wanted to say that Cyclonus will say at the ending of season 3

Here come spoilers!!!!
After the fight with Megatron and the defeat of the combiners,Steeljaw run away,Starscream gets killed and Cyclonus, just before the council citadel falls tells to Bumblebee:
"You think you have won? Do you even think that!? They are coming for all of us! Nobody will survive!"
The citadel falls, the autobots escape woth Megatron and Cyclonus dies with other cons,Steeljaw dissapeared and a new journey starts.
There were also some cool lines for Cyclonus like this:
"You have brought Cybertron back to life,so it can die again?"
"I am Cyclonus! Leader of the Great Cybertronyan council!"
"You betrayed your own cause!" "You are no more stronger like before (Megatron),you are like him (Prime)!"
The season will start at the end of this month.

Wish they had done more Predacons. Would of killed for a Deluxe Terrorsaur or Voyager Scorponok. Or a Tarantulus. Or Black Arachnia that's not just Takara slapping extra pieces to give her the big tits on the Animated figure.

Iredeemable? Nah. What you need to keep in mind about his portrayal as a ruthless killing machine without any shred of honor of his template was that Megatron DELIBERATELY designed him to be 'Dinobot...but ruthless and loyal'. Basically, he's Dinobot without those pesky 'flaws' which made the Predacons lose arguably one of their best season 1 warrior right at the start of the war.

He's the monster Megatron created and in all ways he is exactly what Megs wanted him to be: all the power and combat prowess of Dinobot turned to eleven with the indestructibility of Rampage but none of that honor or disobedience. Had the episode 'Dark Glass' been produced I think he'd have been tackled more tragically, what with that episode being about Rattrap giving Dinobot 2 the memories of the original. However, until Rampage died and made his spark 'whole', Dinobot 2 really was a dull killing machine because that's exactly what he was made to be. However as soon as he (somehow) regain memories of the original, he quickly and immediately betray Megatron, showing that maybe all it took is perhaps his spark being his own now and maybe some memories of who he was, or at least who he is a copy of.

That doesn't really mean anything
I think we have a pretty good shot at seeing alpha bravo and offroad in the future, but probably only as part of combiner teams, so we wont see toys of them for awhile.
Can't rule out the movies using them though.
Rook on the other hand could definitely be used as a solo character, given that he's basically another police bot, and we've got the likes of strongarm, prowl, and barricade.

I would love to see Rook be Barricades old partner, with Barricade basically getting disgusted at the politics and hinderences of law enforcement, eventually becoming a judge dredd esque "I am the law" type character with Rook having too much sympathy for him, but also feeling obligated to bring him in.
>>6224526

>>

So, what would your ideal config for a Seekers combiner be? I'd be tempted to say, obviously, Starscream as torso, Thundercracker and Skywarp as arms. Thrust and Ramjet seems a good pick color-wise for legs but it feels wrong to leave any 'seekers trinity' incomplete, which is invariably what would happen as the CW Superion mold doesn't include any torso bot.
>>

Starscream as torso, THundercracker, Skywarp, Sunstorm, and Acid Storm as limbs.

Hell, having a currently running toy doesn't even keep chars alive in IDW.
Funpub has never been anywhere close to canon with anything but themselves.
>>
>>6224700
Transformers canon is rather loose anyway due to the Transformers multiverse.
>>
>>6224702
No it's not.
Transformers multiverse isn't a thing within the stories themselves, it's a meta-level narrative coming primarily from the fanclub comics.
The aligned continuity is it's own continuity.
G1 cartoon is it's own continuity
Japanese Transformers is it's own continuity
Animated is it's own continuity.
This is what marvel does too, but they've actually had the multiverse as a plot point FIRST, then rolled the different versions into it.
But IDW has never had their characters living or dying based on anything other than themselves. Introducing new characters because of the toyline? Sure. But look at how that went with combiner wars. We got new teams, swindle being dead, it was all fast and loose.

Hasbro generally gives no fucks about what stories the fanclub does, with which characters. Just whatever they want as an excuse to reuse old molds

>>6224694
Their death story is canon, but it's canon to its own storyline and does not affect IDW, the toys, etc.

Transformers is not one big storyline where everything affects everything else. The Transformers multiverse is made up of million of alternate universes where all the various fictions take place. Anything officially released canonically takes place in this multiverse. In-multiverse, Characters and plot elements can migrate from one universe to another, which is why being canon is still important in a franchise that works on multiple dimensions.

In fact, in the universe where Alpha Bravo and Offroad are killed, all the humans and Pretenders with humanish shells were transported from an alternate Marvel US universe, to the G1 Shattered Glass universe, to there.

>>6224700
Universal streams designations have been used outside of Funpub and a Funpub story removed the mechanic of multiversal singularities.

>>6224702
Again, it's not a matter of "looseness", it's a matter of determining which alternate reality you're looking at and what happens in it. In the Beast Wars toy bio universe, Tarantulas is a ninja and Blackarachnia had leopard print boobs and a spiked collar. That's obviously not the case in the BW show universe, but both are canon to the multiverse.
>>
>>6224719
>Transformers multiverse isn't a thing within the stories themselves, it's a meta-level narrative coming primarily from the fanclub comics.
Oh no it's completely a "factual" thing in-(multi)universe. It was the entire fictional focus of the first Universe line and there's a lot of Japanese fiction that revolves around it as well.
>The aligned continuity is it's own continuity.
It hasn't been a single continuity for a while now, if ever. It has been canonically confirmed that the novels, games, and show are different universes.
>But IDW has never had their characters living or dying based on anything other than themselves.
If anybody's having trouble with the concepts of the TF multiverse and what's canon or not, this is the best way to look at it.
>>
>>6224726
>It was the entire fictional focus of the first Universe line
ah you've got a point, I forgot that toyline was about multiverse crossing.

But that still backs up the point I was making before
Funpub is canon to itself.
Just like an anime series with filler is canon to itself, not to the manga.
>>
>>6224680
Ask at PetesRobotCon.
>>
>>6224728
>ah you've got a point, I forgot that toyline was about multiverse crossing.
Also don't forget about the Armada comics crossing over with a G1 universe and having a portal to an R.I.D. universe, or the R.I.D. toyline having a character that hopped dimensions.
>Funpub is canon to itself.
Except the multiple times it's specifically introduced concepts that affected fiction outside of itself. See: split Aligned, no more multiversal singularities.
>>
>>6224731
'Kay, read the thread and keep up with the convo. I was asking for clarification on anon's question to better answer it; not clarification of fact, which your dig seems to be based on.
>>
>>6224696
It could end up being somewhat simplified
remember that RID windblade is basically generations windblade with less moving parts.
But with that colorscheme, so bizarre for megatron, it makes me wonder if this isn't what we thought it was. Like maybe it's a color theme, they're doing those in RiD now.
Deep Sea Megatron, with "lobster" weapon
>>
>>6224733
>Also don't forget about the Armada comics crossing over with a G1 universe and having a portal to an R.I.D. universe, or the R.I.D. toyline having a character that hopped dimensions.
that was Dreamwave, and while it did deal with the concept of multiverse, it wasn't the same concept.
And it was literally an excuse to introduce old fanfiction into canon.
They deserved to go under.

http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Primax_610.17_Kappa
It's now both! Yay for duplicate universes taking place in different metacosmic categories.
>>
>>6224742
They were crossing over their different comic lines into other comic universes
the multiverse stuff that Hasbro handed down is not that. It's more like marvel, where the cartoon is a different universe from the comics, which is different from the toys, etc.
Dreamwave was just a crossover of their own content.
>>
>>6224747
real explanation is that it's a G1 take on the Aligned continuity.
>>
>>6224749
Except the G1 universe that they crossed over into wasn't their regular G1 comic and Dreamwave's one R.I.D. story hadn't been published yet.
>Dreamwave was just a crossover of their own content.
So? A crossover is a crossover. The TF multiverse is a crossover of Hasbro's own content.
>>
>>6224751
...no?
Like, you can even read the reason for it and that conclusion does not match. You can't just say random shit that pops into your head and expect it to be fact. Come on now.

No, really, come on now. You can be better than that.
>>
>>6224755
I'm just saying that's what I meant by "it's not the same concept"
Hasbro was trying to introduce a way to the fandom to explain which stories are related, and which ones arent, and which ones are partially related.
Dreamwave was just doing a multiverse plotline, not specifically structuring how other transformers stories fit into a multiverse.
Maybe "concept" is the wrong word.
It certainly wasn't the same purpose.

>>6224759
What are you talking about, that's the actual reason
It was being developed having been given key story points of aligned to follow through, and given freedom to do what they wanted outside of that.
This is because they were being developed too early in the production of the aligned continuity bible.

does not mesh with
>it's a G1 take on the Aligned continuity.

>there's also a blue and white car next to Bumblebee and Prime

That's RID Blurr.

OH THANK GOD, the only wave three guy i've seen near here is Doublecross and some titanmasters. At least i'll have SOME decent-looking decepticon jets.

Sweet jesus the horizontal stance looks great.
And Full Tilt's finalized colors look rich well-varied without being patchwork like Bumblebee or Galvatron.

I thought my Weirdwolf escaped the hinge issue, since I examined it closely beforehand and there was zero resistance when moving the cockpit, but I was transforming it just now and heard a tiny 'tik' and a chunk jumped out of the hinge into my lap.

I know it's common, but still /feelsbad/

I ended up looking at the issue in a different way. and trimming the tab for it down so there's no resistance that requires pushing in against the cockpit. The friction alone keeps it from flapping around so I trust it to hold for a while.

Yes it does
How is it not?
Aligned continuity told a different way, to fit a more G1 asthetic.

It's a inevetiable issue. Even if you don't play with it pressures can make that hinge break. I just accept it as a fate of mine. It hasn't happen yet but I'm just pretending it's gps and it's gonna happen.

I do hope they do a reissue of Weirdwolf with a fixed hinge

The hinge doesn't even need a pin, it could have just frictioned in just fine

Continuity was a mistake.
