Good timing, just tried to make this cargo plane spacey
How can I improve lads?
>>6219740
looks really good so far
Engines still look like turbofans; I'd take out the black bits and maybe use gray dishes or something instead.
>>6219313
>This movie definitely deserves more than one set.
Trailer is implying 'The Final battle Begins' so potentially we'll see a sequel in 2018 or 2019 that they've kept hidden till now. Maybe we'll get the Flying Dutchman and a UCS Black Pearl.
>>6219732
he was the hardest for me to find
Red hood was most common. 6 in total. They make stylen henchmen.
Three bags;
- Caveman Batman
- Officer Barbara Gordon
- Lobster Batman
Good or not?
>>6219762
Do you like them? If so, they're good. I really want Cave Bats and Lobster Bats, but I haven't found the blind bags in two months. Last I saw them was beginning of December, so I'm still missing a few.
>>6219762
on par. there is no true rare figure. each case is 3 each. Statistically every other true blind bag should be a batman of some kind.
>>6219505
I need to build up some more of these Toy Story guys. Replace the heads and hands, add in some of the Lego gray aliens, and my Roswell display is good to go.
>>6219762
Lobster and cop Barbara are easy to reuse for mocs so not bad at all
>>6219740
Looks goddamn ah-maaazing!
Im that anon who wanted to mad-maxise this cargo plane.
But for now i want just to order these 2 sets and just use the Ninjago set as aprts donor because it has a lot little details and plane-parts of needed color to turn that red plane into something menacing.
But damn your example had shown me how great the cargo plane can be if modded heavily.
2 weeks until the Silent Mary releases for VIPs! Are you going to pick it up?
Kaiju City anon here. Finally got the parts that I needed for Zilla's apartment building, but once I got them I ended up building something much, much better. Here's a quick before...
>>6219767
by the way this is what i want to make. or at least something similar.
>>6219763
>Do you like them?
I like having re-useable figures so more a fan of Barbara Gordon whose torso and arm print could be for most cops & Batman's dressing gown sort of thing.Caveman Batman is 'ok' but not my taste.
Lobster is nice though, its kind of cutesified but it works.
>>6219769
Not straight away, but sometime down the line I might get it.
Wondering how it will look amongst my classic pirate ships.
>>6219769
>2 weeks until the Silent Mary releases for VIPs! Are you going to pick it up?
Maybe...
If it has a polybag shark and an interior for the cabin.
If it has the polybag shark then i can at least sell one of the sharks i've ordered in order to pay towards the set.
Thinking about trying to make a minifigure scale Silent Mary. The one Lego has made is more micro-scale with random minifigure scale aspects such as the wheel.
>>6219772
...and after. Sorry if the pics aren't too good. I don't have room to set up a lightbox at home, so I have a very lame temporary one in my cube. Also, the camera is my phone. Aaaand since I obviously don't have photo manipulation software at work I tried to up the contrast/brightness/saturation with the shitty phone picture editor. Garbage, I know

>>6219794
Thanks! I'm glad people are enjoying it. Though now I have to revamp all the other sets to match...
>>6219762
I saw the Batman CMF once, but passed them up because pay day was the next day. Went back and they were all gone except three opened bags and a few loose pieces of a cop. Haven't seen them since anywhere in town. I wanted some Red Hood and Gordon. Especially Gordon for my Sabotage style cop I put in everything
What does /lg/ think of mixing yellow and fleshy minifig parts?
How come this guy gets a color?
>>6219786

If we won, who'd Lego give the royalties to? Other than that, I'd totally be down to build an actual set for Ideas with /lg/. We might be better off just making a bunch of small sets and maybe getting the parts together and distributing a few small sets to the people who want to own a part of the fun.

The guy that designed it, that sounds good.
it sounds worth trying, at least tossing the voting link in the OP of each new thread until it succeeds or fails. It's a genuine good idea, and better than most of the stuff on ideas site, why not
>>6219840
It not about the profit. Its about helping a fellow anon out and actually doing something cool for the board. /v/ does their musicals, /b/ used to do cool things once in a while inbetween closing pools and raiding, /pol/ even cheered up a lonely BLACK KID on his birthday when no one showed up.
Im just saying maybe WE should get to gether, stop bitching at each other and trolling, and help an anon do something cool. I think the RAMPAGE set is simple enough, would be cheap enough, and also they did the midway arcade set, so I dont think lego getting the right would be too insane.
I just think it would be a neat thing we coul;d all try to do is all.
>>6219853
ALSO, to add, there IS a RAMPAGE movie coming out I think next year (starring.....you guessed it, The Rock), so who knows, they hype could build up exponentially, even if the movie was shit.
Vroom vroom cunts :DD
>>6219853
You forget the time everyone sent cards and cake to that old guy for his birthday. I felt like I had done such a good thing and it hit me surprisingly hard when he died.
Definitely feel that the creator anon should submit it - post it here when they have.
>>6219860
Oh, I didnt forget, its that there are so many things individual boards have done within their own board culture that have been a greater good. Shit like the card to the smash brothers guy, cards to gabe and valve, kojima, /k/ and their meetups for charities and shit, etc etc etc.
>>6219765
>I need to build up some more of these Toy Story guys. Replace the heads and hands, add in some of the Lego gray aliens, and my Roswell display is good to go.

>>6219866
Hells yeah man, do it. I almost think you can submit stuff even when its in the "alpha", LDD stages, youll just have to do the basic builds soon after. They're pretty good. I got the box set with four guys and was lucky enough to find some of the polybags clearanced at a Target store, so I'm not doing too bad.
One of the nice things about the CMFs is when they occasionally have very nice army building potential. I wish I'd been able to snag more of the Roman Soldiers or the space orc guy. Even the graduation guy. At least I got lucky with the Galaxy Trooper and build up a sizable number of him.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I've got a gang of Skeleton Dudes, a team of Antarctic researchers, a bore of Space Miners, a prowl of Tiger Ladies, a stone of Pizza Dudes, and currently working on a convent of Penguin Kids.

Nothing?
>>6219955
The skeleton guys were kinda cute, and I like how you use them there in a far more sinister fashion. I did buy quite a few but mostly for the pumpkin pails, then dressed up a bunch of the Lego kids like they were trick or treating last year, adding in a bunch of hobbits for shits and giggles.
I mostly did the same with the devil boy costume last year but I also had pic related I picked up at a clearance store a few years back and the kid was perfect for the devil heads. I just barely had enough plain red torsos for four of them. This year I bought a bunch of Nexo Knight lava monster heads which I think will work even better. I also love what people were doing here by giving Lavaria Mr. Incredible's legs.
>>6219982
>those classic flames with 2 little pins
do they still make these? those flames were for those classic dragons and lego dont make them anymore

>>6219988

Whoa...but for what purpose?? They cant go down the hole fully because of those 2 pins. And there are no dragons to put them in their mouths.
>>6219988
wait
it says that the last year is 2013 not 16
>>6219991
It still gets used as torches and shit. Looks like the last sets that actually used it might be 2013, but BL lists the piece as being in circulation as of 2016, so it's possible that they really are done using it in sets.
>>6219991
Might just mean some people on bricklink are unable to tell the variants apart - the new variant was introduced in 2008 and it seems a bunch of sets from 2008-2010 had both simultaneously. It's possible it took them a while to phase the older one out altogether, but think it's just a problem with people adding the inventories in most cases.
>>6219999
Last year some people were saying that a certain set came with both the old and new styles of 1x1 clips.
>>6219866
>but I'll try to scrounge up enough parts to finish a 3-pack and then post it?
Have three inter-locking different builds;
- Each mini-scale city based
- Each have a monster figure
Set would be three monster figures and a vignette style mini-city for them to battle it out
>>6220006
>Have three inter-locking different builds;
Make it four inter-locking buildings so that you can move it around and have them opposite each other to do a completed street look.
>>6220006
That's the plan. My original version on LDD turned into a clusterfuck, pic related. But, like Lizzies apartment, I'll do the rest better
>>6220006
>>6220011
>>6220014
Here's the original three, much better standalone
>>6220014
>you will never had this series sold by Lego
>you will never have an entire new series sold in plastic bags like Mixels
>you will never will be excited to get a new monster and a City-parts
>you will never have a tiny lego city and a bunch of little kaiju monsters
end me......
>>6220014
>I'll do the rest better
It is incredibly important that there is no violence in these, though people here will probably like suggesting ideas such as collapsing buildings or otherwise - it would put Lego off selecting it.
Think along the lines of Lego Ideas Minecraft and simply turn it into an inter-locking vignette city with costumed characters.
The blue selected build should be the roof for the yellow selected build - and the other selected builds would make four nice varied designs.
>>6220017
I like the idea of the tiny scale car and the use of a tropy figure. Keep the lizard.
Unsure about the werewolf and the banana knight - but its funny enough that it could work
>>6220027
I'll shy away from the violence. The mosquito hospital was really pushing it, and I'm not happy with the idea in general.
Would building that can break apart cleanly be better? The yellow building (Pizzaria) has a 3rd floor that's made of 4 sections
>>6220029
>banana knight
>>6220021
>>you will never have a tiny lego city and a bunch of little kaiju monsters
Its possible. If they wanted it to win just make it clear that you want the trophy figure to be female - that'd be the first trophy female we've gotten and fans would go nuts for it.

Anything that encourages customiseability would definitely help.
Something like;
- Road/street is one piece
- Lower building is another piece but looks good without second layer
- Second layer is another piece but could be swapped with other second layer's or stacked to create own building

By going to multiple stores and placing an order at each, duh
>>6220076
You order from one store, then, when you're checked-out, you order from another store.
You can't combine orders from different stores, that wouldn't make any sense. Every BL seller is an unaffiliated store.

>It is incredibly important that there is no violence in these
Lego has never shy'd away from conflict, especially silly cartoony violence. A small tongue in cheek series about guys in rubber suits destroying miniature buildings will be ok as long as it doesn't feature ultimate edge bloody murder.
Having some kind of comical relation between the kind of monstersuit and building will work wonders too. (chickensuit destroying not-kfc, cyclops destroying optician office, staypuft destroying dentist, squidman destroying sushi-restaurant)
>>6220031
Some easy to destroy playfeature would definately make it more appealing for lego to sell it to younger audiences. Check out modulars and their small amount of studs used to connect floors, or even walls that are easy to kick out like in a lot of the superhero sets.

It's a good one too. But i prefer some narration to comment on things not made clear just by quickly edited visual representation. (how well action-features or things like suspensions work, amount of friction, stability, amount of spares, etc.)
The times i watched that guy filming himself making reaction videos i just imagined how tiring it must be to be around him. I guess that one poop style thing was pretty well edited.

In anon's defense Zodiac can be a bit tricky if people aren't used to it/don't have a lot of time to spend on each bag. Personally I find the crab a tad difficult to recognize. The fish is easier, but I can imagine people mistaking it for March Harriet's gun if, like I said, they're in a hurry.
Personally I find Harley the most annoying because it can be a pain to isolate her hair from the other parts to get a proper feel for it and her only other equipment is a 2x2 when several other fix come with 2x2s. Her nurses cap was a real pain at first since it was a piece I was in no way familiar.

>>6220599
in all honesty it was the mild disappointment with the cave, and spires (bag 1/2) and the love of the actual temple portion, along with the decorations like he collapsing palm tree and the "skull" face (bags 3/4)
while im not a fan of the skull, i can at least say its very different. its not just a simple face like old islander, or a blatant boring skull like the recent pirate set
the lamp (and the gold bust using an upside down mustache, as a collar) were just the best portions of the attached picture, and everything not in it, was just meh to disappointing
im kinda surprised i disliked the bigfig though, hopefully it was just the terrible design i guess

>order is surprisingly cheap
>below extra VAT value
I don't know how to feel. Usually I spend just as much time removing pieces from orders as I do placing them, but at the same time it feels nice not having to sacrifice anything.
I also stumbled upon this torso, holy hell this is great. Cheap too.

for the hair you could use the sumowrestler unprinted black bun as an aproximation of the samurai do.
For the cape you could go the thirdparty trencoat/cape route if you aren't purist about it. Finding a head with the filed down horns probably isn't going to happen, the boardgame devil head had printed horns but his expression doesn't fit Hellboy at all.
>>6220684

>>6220733
>Id say maybe throw a couple dudes with some leather jackets, mowhawks, shiny sunglasses etc. Maybe even a SPIII alien or two as "mutants" or just plain ayys.
This is actually the full image of the gang so far, so I got a few guys in flashy jackets and one has a mowawk. Need some more diverse faces though.
At the moment I mostly keep all my SPIII aliens in one gang (kind of like a gang of alien diaspora) but some muties could be cool.
They all have cybernetic parts by the way because that's the gangs initiation ritual, to join you have to take off a limb and replace it with a robotic version.

Hells yeah, thats a good back story, very Iron Hands marines from 40k-esque. Firestar toys has some good jackets to add a little flair, and brick warriors has circular saw blade hands that replace normal fig hands that would fit right in! ALso the cyber mowhawk from the new GoTG yondu figure is perfect for cyberpunk gangers, best thing is you get TWO in the set he comes in!
>>6220745
>new GoTG yondu figure
I don't hink I've ever been as conflicted on a series of sets.
Milano is cool, but it's also bit small, which may not be a bad thing. Set with Yondu changes from looking somewhat cool to a hot pile of garbage every time I look at it. And the only redeeming fact of the smallest set is that it comes with Rocket.
And I still want to get all of them.
>>6220747
Yondu sets good in that it has Yondu, 2 of his mowhawks, Babby Groot in his uniform and a golden waifu. Also a starlord who you could convert into a ganger pretty easily because of his uniform. Also the two big dishes on his ship are actually printed pieces and not stickers, could go good on like a space tanker truck or something similar. Figure itll go on sale quite a bit so it wont even be that expensive which is nice.

Lego doesn't have a letterman jacket or fully covering chicken mask so you're boned when it comes to jacket.
Helmet I'm not sure, probably have a better chance there.
Should just do what I do, make hotline miami inspired stuff rather than striving for accuracy. I did make a richter minfig though, minus the mask.

I literally JUST ordered two letterman varsity jackets from minifigs.me yesterday so I could make a jacket fig. Ordered a bear and tiger mask today and already have a chicken one (I am just using a solid red head with it, not quite perfect, but itll do for now). Was going to get a pig mask but fuckers are selling them for such ridiculous prices.
My only complaint with the varsity jackets I got was they didnt have them in brown (most of the art shows him in a brown one) so I got one in red and one in black. At some point im going to contact them and see if theyll print me one on a brown torso, I just didnt have the cash for a full custom job right now.

I'd say that YouTube comments are worse than here somehow
Probably the larger user base
>>6221036
Ku Clucks Klan
>>6221040
Larger user base and there really isnt a "breaking in" period (IE: LURK MORE FAGGOT!) like there is here. Boards here have all developed their own cultures and protocols, and even those can vary wildly on boards full of "generals" like /toy/ or /vg/. Its very easy to tell when someone hasnt been here very long.
On youtube none of that matters so people are usually just pricks right out of the gate and dont get a verbal ass whooping as much as they do here when they get caught acting like a damned fool.
Youtube Lego fanbases are normally around pandering channels such as TTV, Jangbricks, TheBrickShow or others that barely acknowledge how bad a lot of the sets are.
One man dares to stand alone against the Notorious Sky Pirates. ... Or maybe he works for them? I guess it all depends on who pays more.
Meanwhile 4chan fanbases are normal people they dont get the pandering treatment. You see more than just constant praise for a set.
>>6221050
I actually think a lot of /lg/s benefit is that people are willing to go "This set is bad out of the box, but it gives me ideas for ways to make a better one"
>>6221050
Reviewers who do more than showcase something and actually chime in with an opinion get blasted for not being 'objective' enough.

> TTV is run by 'Bionicle Story Fans' who simply want Bionicle back because of the story rather than the sets.
> Jangbricks is a Lego City builder who gets pissy if you disagree with him in the comments, people have been blocked for saying a set he reviewed sucks.
> TheBrickShow gets many sets sent to him and as such is never objectively valuing the set to the fullest given he wants to be nice to ensure Lego send another box.

I saw JANG at a LEGO store in San Francisco two weeks ago. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Polybags in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bags and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bag and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
>>6221239
I once saw Jang at the lego store, I noticed him ripping open CMF packets discreetly and pocketing the contents. I didn't want to cause a scene so I didn't call him out for it, but as he left the store I confronted him
So I asked him why he's stealing, then all of a sudden he goes into some kind of speech, talks about how lego are evil bourgeois dogs, and that such capitalist pigs deserve to have their produce stolen from them. He then started waxing on about some kind of fantasy where works control lego production and design completely.
I didn't know what to say, and he walked off as I was confused. Weird guy, huh?
How do I safely pop the arms off a minifig torso?
>>6221234

rotate the arm so it's perpendicular with the torso, then pry the end of the arm away from the torso while gripping both firmly.
>>6221221
>people buy sets in TRU
>you can buy the same sets in other store in the same mall for 20% less

Johnny Thunder. I honestly don't know why they even bothered making Indiana Jones sets when they had an original property with the same idea and no licensing costs. Different settings to expand into too since the theme was just adventuring for treasure anywhere. (Desert was still the best though)

I met Jang once, he was at my local Lego store a while ago, strange guy kinda. Anyways I was at check out buying a Nexo Knight set where the princess is captured. I was telling the cashier that I was excited because the princess was cute and that I was gonna put in her in my Disney castle.
All of a sudden I feel warm breath going down my neck but before I react I can feel arms as strong as steel wrap around my stomach. Before I knew it, I was flipped over, suplexed onto the ground. The wind was knocked out of my and I'm pretty sure bones were broken. In my dazed vision I saw Jang standing over me, foam forming at his mouth, a fire in his eyes.
"The damsel in distress trope is tired and weak" he growled at me as he grabbed me by my collar, bringing me up to his face. Veins we're popping out from his face. I was petrified in fear.
"Let's see how you like being the damsel in distress!" he cackled.
Jang then flipped me over and ripped my jeans off. I could feel my bare ass exposed. Jang then stuck his 4x8 brick into my poor ass and was relentless.
"Scream for help! Be the damsel in distress!" He demanded.
"P-please! Please I need a s-strong knight!" I cried, as tears rolled down my cheeks.
Jang stopped and stood up, chuckled, spit on me and left. I lay there weeping, a broken man, curling up praying that someone could end my life right there.
Yeah the guy's pretty weird, his videos are alright though.

The Bill figure I got from citizen brick, all custom. I added the trenchcoat and red arms to match it. The priest figure I made myself, but his head is a bit of a mystery. I had got a bunch of bricklink orders AND a set of random heads from CB. I cant remember for the LIFE of me if Priests head is official or a custom job. Ive tried looking for it on BL, but after going through 20 pages of heads they all start to blend together.....
I literally cannot contain my hype for this set. I normally am forced to wait for a sale but this will be a day one buy. Actually might get two to kick start a space tugboat fleet

Trench coats can be made pretty easily by cutting up the older style capes a little bit.
If you want the cheekbones, the face you'd have to heresy off with brasso. Looks like it used to be a Lex Luthor face.
Otherwise, blank flesh heads are pretty cheap:
