Also, based on the last thread, I finally got to looking at GoTG 1 Star Lord vs vol 2 Yondu. The arms, pelvis, and thighs are indeed the same, with the exception that the designers went back into the digital model and added texture and the GoTG emblem on his shoulder. I guess that's better than just outright reusing the old dies.

I picked up the Marvel Legends 3 3/4" Spiderman for £5.

He's articulated to the max but his hands aren't that great.
He doesn't come with the web slinging/shooting hand variants nor any web accessories. What am I supposed to do with him?

He can scratch his head though!.

It's worth noting that Kamala's alt-embiggened hands have no articulation below the elbow. Iron Skull falls into the YMMV category. The Red Skull head is great for headswaps on other figures, but the armored body could just be reclassified as a drone, especially with a little repainting.

not that anon but my guess is its closer to the comic one. I sold my BaF Groot a while ago so I can't compare them side by side but his joints are like the middle ground between gummy and firm. not gummy but not super firm.

one thing I wish they did was add like 2 or 3 points of articulation, those being thigh cuts and a neck joint.

I can't speak to its quality in relation to the previous Groots, but it feels firm enough compared to other figures. The elbows and wrists are softer than the rest of the figures. The torso is hard plastic while the limbs are the same firm-but-soft plastic as most other ML figures, so there's no bending them without heating them up. The figure is well-packed and (mine, at least) didn't have any warped parts out of the box. The hip, shoulder, and ab joints are also really firm and clicky.

I have Angela and Darkhawk. I don't care about Angela as a character at all, but the figure is my favorite ML since boxset Drax. The new parts are cool, the paint is crisp as fuck, she's tall, the accessories are rad. It's great.

Darkhawk isn't bad, but it's another Bucky Cap with a retooled torso and wings glued on. I like it but don't really love it.

If you can find the old Classics Iceman for cheap, his slide works very will with the new one. Also, if you get him, dry brush on some white paint to accent more of the sculpt. Probably isn't noticeable in the picture, but it helps in person.

They haven't been x-men regularly. Hasbro guys that do Legends seem very aware of the demand for Gambit. I suspect, if x-men legends gets a wave in 2018 and 2019 we will see like we have in the past 1 character/costume from the 90's cartoon. We got rogue, we got cyclops. I bet we see one of the following in the next wave, Gambit, Prof X or Storm. They even joked that the golden hover chair was new BAF. The line up for 2018 is planned and likely happening, they said a 2019 wave could happen as well. That's 14-18 new x-men in 2 years. Give it time.

I've been seeing Gambit customs made for years, and they pretty much all use the same parts. Nick Fury Trench Coat, Bucky Cap Body, Toybiz Gambit head, some sculpt, paint and boom Gambit. some change it up but thats generally what every Gambit Custom I've seen for the last few years has been.

It's an incredibly easy and common sense recipe using pieces that are widely available. Also, expect that to probably be the likely parts used when Hasbro eventually makes one. They have more bodies available so they might do a thinner buck, but I can't imagine them going all out on a ton of new sculpting.

That said, I really wouldn't mind seeing more of the blue and yellow costume, which would be an even easier custom.

Those are spot on.

I think it depends on the person's financial situation and their investment in the line/characters, but here are some other tips:

Don't buy the whole wave unless you want all the figures, or with 1 or 2 you're indifferent to at the very least. Don't just buy figures for the BAF parts. If you want it then sure, but if a figure is included you really don't want or hate, then just buy the BAF piece online or something. That or wait for a sale.

Speaking of sale, newly released waves will have figures going for $25+ online due to demand. Wait, be patient, and the prices will drop back to MSRP ($20). If a wave is older then you can usually find all the figures for $10-$15. Also female body molds have poor articulation in the upper torso/arms because Hasbro, so be prepared for that if you buy one. They can still be nice, but Hasbro is stubborn with that for some reason.

Also recommend restricting yourself to certain characters or lines. For example, I just buy from the Spider-Man waves and sometimes figures I really, really want from other waves. That way I'm not justifying the purchase of a whole wave 'because I want to finish the New Avengers team' for example.

I also got started putting together a Catwoman custom with the Jae Lee Designer Series figure's parts. Still need to go get some apoxie to fix the hands, add gloves, and work out the boots before spraying with matte black primer and sealing.

This shelf is getting crowded again, though. I've had a ton of recent purchases get opened, played with one or two times, and tossed into a bag under my desk. Hasbro did re-release stuff in their 3.75 inch line, but so far 6 inch has never seen re-releases. I don't think even 2 packs, 3 packs or bigger saw same versions, there's always a variations. While 3.75 MU stuff did nearly identical versions.

One target near me charges 22.99. A TRU near me the ML aren't, but my god the legos are. 54.99 for 39.99 sets and so on. They'll price match their website, I've put up a fuss over figs I wanted and knew they were rare. but yea its dumb. I mean they'd probably be shelf warming at 19.99 too though.

I definitely understand where you're coming from. I actually think the old Toy Biz Phoenix looks a bit better than the new one, and I already have a Jean. So it's a no-go. I might grab the Dark Phoenix one to put on the villains shelf though.

As for Havok, I just want a version of the character and this one seems decent. Scott can't always just get into fights with Wolverine, after all.

collectors like us don't buy the same figure repeatedly. They rather make a bunch of similar variations so that casual shoppers will be the character from recognition, but collectors can still build a collection. Like the bunch of different iron men and spider people they release
