What's the general consensus on World of Nintendo figures? I'm thinking of getting a Samus (specifically either Gravity Suit or the metallic variant) and was curious if they're at least passable.

Definitely not worth the asking price. Posability and detailing are incredibly basic, which makes the more human characters like Samus and Link suffer. They also come with very sparse accessories. You're better off either shelling out for the original Figma or waiting for the Prime Figma.

Skipping the SHF Pokemon because Pikachu looks awful and the lack of faces for Team Rocket and Ash. A lot of the charm in Pokemon comes from the faces they make and there is a criminal lack of variety here.

WoN is good for anything which has no other option. WoN DK, Diddy and Bowser Jr. are good figures. Fox, Falco, Slippy and Peppy are good buys. Peach, Wario, Waluigi, are good stuff, the Mario enemies (goombas, spinys, boos) are cheap and fun to army build.

I'd stay away from anything with a better option. Get the figuarts Mario, Luigi and Yoshi, get the figma Samus, and Link/Zelda. Get the Nendo Toon Link and Toon Zelda.

Jakks could probably get two or three canon reuses out of Dark Samus so they probably would.
Or they could add new feet/shoulders/helmet if they feel spicy and just do the prime 2 one which if it was more relevant is what I'd expect honestly. Or just repaint the current Samus mold because loljakks.
But PED Suit/Dark Suit/ Light Suit is never ever unless they do a 2.5 inch which still sucks.
Honestly though I have to wonder what they'll do next for Metroid, if anything.
For repaint possibility alone I'd expect the fusion suit because lol6colors. Super and Other M suits seem out of the question if only because of having two repaint options each, with one of them being bright pink and all.

This is what frustrates me. They designed these to be quite nice on their own, but there's very little to them for the money they're asking for. Ganondorf's set is a crappy door and an empty treasure chest. For the 15 bucks they went for originally, you could have gotten a full-size Bowser(well, Dong anyways) on the same goddamn aisle. The whole point of a buildable micro line is to make it super cheap so kids can buy lots of them, with a few really intricate higher price-point sets as main sets.

The figma is all but guaranteed. They've publicly acknowledged Zelda as their favorite and have been releasing Zelda merchandise for a while now. It will probably also get a DX version since the past two Link's have and the Nendo version of this Link already did.

To be fair, the Jakks Links are the closest we'll get to a decent 3.75"-scale Link. They aren't great, but they fill a niche. And I feel like a Figma is fairly likely, but they're using the Nendoroid to test the waters for BotW (and considering how well the Nendo seems to be doing, things are looking good). If a Figma was already in the works, we'd have heard about it at WonFes.

Toon Link's pretty nice, and he, the Inkling, and AC Villager all have about the same level of articulation as each other. Skyward Sword Link is probably the best figure of the 4" line, Skull Kid is great but suffers from his sculpted pose overriding his articulation and his mask leaving giant holes in his coconut. The currently known wave is Inkling girl, Lakitu, Bowser Junior with new hat, and a double dose of Marios.

We know of a BotW Link that's coming, but I don't think we know much more other than some 2.5" stuff that's coming.

Toon Link anon here, decided to go with the angry version because I wanted the shield. I like him aside from the cheap build quality, but for the price he's decent. The fact that he can actually hold the Tingle Tuner from the gashapon set was a nice little surprise.
