Crooked yes but not upside down or angled, when it comes to tf toys especially modern toys one should expect minimal issues, my mp inferno has globs on paint in spots here and there, my hasbro combiner wars sets either have scratched paint or warped parts that can't be bent back.

I could even bring up rid scourge's shoulder tampos being upside down due to sheer design laziness but that depends on where you sit on the fence, the fact is between hasbro and takara there WILL be errors, the severity will differ from figure to figure

Painted eyes on MPs are preferable because light piped eyes look completely dead when they're not in direct light and in a series where a characters eyes go out when they're dead it just bugs me. Primal is okay though so maybe Cheetor is as well. Still looking forward to getting mine but still.

The stickers on the chest are okay, but the ones on the wings and legs go over molded detail so they will peel eventually. Then again these stickers are pretty minor and you won't notice them missing, nothing as bad as the W3 and W4 voyagers.

I mean, my hands didn't rub paint off. When you put his beastmode pecs inside his chest it sometimes rubs the back of the robot chest. Also the robot mode head can scrape the beast back in beast mode if you're not perfect in transforming that back-of-the-neck part.

Not saying this because I'm complaining, but just a heads up for anyone else who might end up jacking up their paint.

I managed to put a thin layer of white paint on his faceplate so that it matches the blue/grey on there and you can't really notice the beast chest scraping unless you look for it.

There are known cw bootlegs in many forms but even the bootlegged shockwave figures still had boxes.

My money is leaning on factory seconds or some dumbass rushing to get figures ripping boxes open only to meet the very thing they saw in the fucking clamshell.

I'm one of the very few collectors who just straight up doesn't give a fuck about scale or autistic aesthetic matching so I can put chibi master made and gewun MP figures right next to each other and not be bothered.

I could not imagine being in this hobby and being bothered with scale when the source material shifted sizes constantly and preformed mass shifting regularly.

For me, it's less "in scale" and more "The size I feel like they'd be."

People keep wanting good leader-class Megatrons and Primes, but I always feel they work perfectly at voyager scale with MAYBE Megatron being a leader class if you go for the Armada kind of size difference he had going with Prime.

I don't even know why scale is a thing for collectors. Most everything outside the TF world is 1/12 so shit won't scale with anything properly more often than not (ie: Wolverine the 5ft nothing manlet being as tall as other characters, for a quick and dirty example), and most everything inside the TF world is spread across a bunch of scales, none of which match up with anything outside of the TF stuff and rarely matches up with the scale inside of it. The closest is the MP line, and even then, something is always off because either the vehicles or the 'bots aren't quite where they should be in terms of sizing. Also it's all based off size compared to Optimus, who was arbitrarily sized at around what, 9 inches or so anyway?

Scale can be fun to work with. Its cool seeing how characters would size up to each other. For example, I have a Yamato Ingram from Patlabor in the 1/24 scale,which lines up with the Alternators. So if I want to display some Autoroopers teaming up with it, it'd looks "Accurate".

Personally I've always kinda wanted a "Giantslaying" themed TF series where all the Autobots are tiny cars, the decepticons are huge jets and tanks, and the Autobots have to rely on power armor and combiners in order to stand up to the Decepticons.

So apparently this prologue to Lio Convoy went up. It's actually kind of depressing:

Junior asks his dad, Lio Convoy, to buy him a Transformers toy, but he thinks they're way too expensive. Lio Convoy instead entertains his son for free by "transforming" his face into funny expressions, but once he's done lauging, Junior restates that he still wants a toy.
Later, Lio Convoy takes the 5000 yen intended for Junior's school lunches and claims he'll "transform" it 100 000 yen... by using it to gamble at the races. Instead, he ends up losing it all. Finding his dad sulking over his poor decisions in a park, Junior gently takes him back home and asks him to stop trying to transform their money.

The definitive Soundwave figure is the Masterpiece.The Hasbro version includes all the cassettes but has Yellow eyes. Still, it's way cheaper than the Takara route. He's got tons of joints, even a finger one to press down on this eject button. He's unquestionably one of the best MP's. The only real problem he has are his weird hip joints, which sit under his skirt assembly, but it just means his legs can move without hindering his crotch.

He'll be expensive as hell either way, but the only other options are device label (No cassettes and super rare and expensive) or the Titans Returns leader (clear Blaster remold, wrong gun, less articulation, and no cassettes)

Prime in general had some phenomenal toys. Its a shame hasbro ( well actually, all companies) started to really cut back on quality. Dreadwing, dead end, and ripclaw were easily in my top three. Pirate tiger was pretty groovy too

I couldn't really say so. Nautica has a really weird alt-mode (it has a resemblance to Scourge's somehow). But her robot mode it's just too sleek to give her a propper form (without the assitance of "non-profitable engineering" that Hasbro refuses to use in it's retail toys).
It's actually fun that they used Blurr's alt mode, since it already was used for two other exclusive releases, so it should be regarded as a meme, imho. But also it's a legit choice because fortunately Blurr's mold is already pretty feminine; more feminine than TR Windblade at least (That weird miss-transforming was possibly the employee's intention in order to hide how shitty the mold actually is).
Those little wing thing tho, they look legit nice molded; it could be literally the most expensive accessory that you could use for a custom.

I have a strong feeling that pic related was intended to be a part of combiner wars, or perhaps a shift in production design.

I was curious about him having a tamashii stand port, had a look at mine and it lacked it, mold year is 2015.

Yet black shadow does have a tamashii stand, mold year 2016, same for pmop (although I can't access mine it does have the tamashii stand port despite being a retool of ultra magnus from cw).

Anyone with sixshot can confirm if he has the stand port?

Or perhaps any theories in support/against my theory?

(admittedly I still think its silly for leaders to even have the stand ports but here we are)

If he becomes a titan he should scale with devastator, but being a leader wouldn't be good enough (unless you took the creative skyshadow/overlord retool idea an anon proposed using the idw design as a basis)

Sometimes I get a bit of a stiffy thinking about how good Devastator would have been if they kept the budget the same and scaled devastator properly with the other deluxes. The constructors just feel so shitty compared to proper deluxe figures.

Given his g1 toy nature and his gimmicks I personally believe scaling with devastator to be the best choice overall.

The year of the snake omega was a good stand in, and while making him as big as a regular combiner would be awesome I don't think we can really call it a titan (even if its more affordable and a better selling point).
