In continuing from that discussion in the previous thread, I honestly feel no need for MP transmetals.

The original toys were pretty much perfect, I'd be happy if they just rereleased them occasionally.

Mega Bloks Call of Duty scale pretty well with a lot of Transformers and make great soldier/ human cannon fodder

Why the hell are they doing so many boxed sets? Do $100+ sets really sell well?

I feel the same way cause the transmetals stuff are pretty decent by themselves and they are not that popular in Japan. At the most we will see MP BW2 and Neo Maximals more than the Decepticons and Predacons.

Honestly I'd rather see them make the whole regular cast before we get into powered up versions of existing characters.
But it's not like we'll see them. Our first beast wars masterpiece was first teased June of 2015
Even if they go at the ridiculous pace of one per year with no repaints (okay, Cheetor's allowed to be repainted to Tigatron and retooled to Ravage) just to have season ONE cast finished will take until almost 2030.
Then adding in the fusors, and depth charge, rampage, you're talking 2035 at least.
I'm just not sure we'll get them running beast masterpieces all the way to transformers 50th anniversary, especially when at some point we know they're gonna start doing Unicron Trilogy figures (most likely in 2022, for the 20th anniversary)

So many of the shows iconic moments come from Season 2, so lacking Transmetals would feel like a hole. Especially on the Predacon's side; TM Megatron, Tarantulas, and Rampage.
Not so much the Maximals; TM Primal is crap, Cheetor about equal, and rattrap is the only one that held up, though he's mostly memorable for his "Knievel" mode. I do like Optimal Optimus, but the PE 3rd party figure kinda fills that hole.

you have to remember they got a gag dub of beast wars so what they hold iconic isn't necessarily the same as the western fandom. and given how much Takara pushed the Beast theme to the point of making their own exclusive molds, it seems they really considered that aspect more important than anything else.

I am glad to get organic beasts again. I feel like that aspect is really not appreciated in the west, since everyone seems to prefer mecha beasts. those are cool, of course, but the organic beasts are a niche thats so iconically BW, barring a few weird 99 cent store toys here and there, I don't know any other line that does organic beasts to robots.

Reposting from the other thread because derp: Today I picked up a cheap 50% off Battle Core Optimus Prime on a whim and I'm a bit at a loss of what to do with him: on one hand, I'd totally be willing to repaint and/or reprolabel him into Nova Prime but he's also my first and only Combiner Wars toy, since I got back into Transformers collecting with Titans Return. Meaning I do want to have at least one combiner. Thing is I don't really imagine Nova Prime as a combiner.

I could also make him a Thunder Clash, I suppose, grab the limbs that fit most with him and repaint them into the Turbomasters.

Adding to this: After giving it some thought, a Nova Prime combiner, as silly and non-canon as it might be could possibly look cool. Maybe I could grab two primary black limbs and two primarily white limbs so his legs are black and his arms are white to enforce that sort of evil -black-and-white Optimus scheme of the brighter colors in the torso and the darker colors on the legs. My own crazy donut steel combiner!

Personally I use Army Men, the really tiny ones, and have the Mega Bloks as power armor/small mechs. This means MSiA, Robot Damashii and Super Robot Chogokins can be used as mecha. All this is compatible with Legends TFs, Titans and select Deluxes/Voyagers/Leaders. My Ultra Act and kaiju/kaijin are also integrated as giant aliens.

I was looking around for a place to store the extra face from this kit on Devastator and found that it fits pretty much perfectly inside of Hook's cockpit. Not too tight, not too loose, doesn't keep it from closing and it doesn't even rattle.

I almost want to wonder if this was an intentional but undocumented feature.

No idea, but in this particular case, it probably gives them more leeway with paint apps and mold alterations. Super Ginrai would probably have trouble being released normally due to his increased parts count, but being in a boxset makes it easier for them to release him in.

As you may know, the cast of Transformers: The Last Knight had a wonderful time visiting the Hasbro Transformers booth at Toy Fair 2017. While there, they did not forget to talk with the press who arrived to meet the celebrities which included Director Michael Bay, Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Actors Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel as well as the leading ladies Laura Haddock and Isabela Moner.

During their visit, a selected audience got to witness 55 minutes of finished footage from Transformers 5.

Mr. Duhamel stated “They really get into the mythology of where the transformers came from, how long they’ve been around and how instrumental they were in a lot of historical events. It’s based on a true story.”

Regarding the filming the actor stated “What we just saw is about 55 minutes of it and it’s pretty spectacular. It really is. [Michael Bay] just blows me away. His ability to understand the scope of things is incredible. I’m very proud of what we did last summer.” He concluded that his son is too young to see the new movie.

Mark Wahlberg also explained about injuries he got while filming the movie. “It’s a very different journey. A lot of stuff about the origin of Transformers and their history. When I [bring toys home] I’m a cool dad.”

Speaking of toys, Director Michael Bay posted an Instagram photo (pictured) while on his way back home stating that he bought an Optimus Prime Voice Changer Helmet for himself.
I was only dissapointed by RotF.I like the live actions. Also,I'm not a G1 fan.It just doesn't appeal to me.I don't like them but that doesn't mean that other can't like them,the same goes for G1 fans that don't like Bayformers.

Media in general seems to not care about robot violence at all. You had Marvel comics back in the 80's showing robots getting mutilated in horrific ways, and that was made for kids. Transformers Movies have the robots getting killed in extremely violent ways and that still doesn't give them an R rating.

I'm not sure who to be most excited for. Obviously there's Mindwipe, who looks absolutely awesome, and Sentimental Trump looks legitimately loads of fun, but I'm actually pretty stoked for Bumblebee. Aside from the unpainted yellow cannon he looks really cool, and easily one of the best deluxe movie Bumblebees out there (aside of course from Murderbee). Roadbuster looks cool too, especially with all those weapons.

so /tfg/, do you think transformers will find its way once more after 'power of the primes?'

anyone that's been with the franchise for a while has seen this trend where gimmicks over take the line, then we're promise that they're 'going back to their roots' and that 'transforming IS the gimmick' only to have a new gimmick a line or two later.

I'm sure I'm not alone in just wanting figures like they were a few years back, with figures like 30th anniversary Springer being so well regarded while now we're being treated to the cumbersome renditions of g1 figures with some extra articulation thrown in on top of the headmaster treatment that only suits very few of the figures in the line.

Simple things like wrist swivels and ankle rockers becoming more common than a blue moon would help immensely. It isn't like they're hard to engineer. One some figures is almost as if they made it a point not to make an effort to add them.

Got this guy in the mail today. I have to say, the meme of Takara being superior is not inaccurate. I didn't need to fix any of the joints with futureshine, and the plastic quality just seems... nicer. The paint apps are clean and they all have this really nice matte texture. The color-matched titan master weapon is icing on the cake. I just ordered the Headmaster EX set to give him the superior Hasbro head, and I've got LG Hardhead on order as well. My Hasbro Brainstorm just got tossed in a box.

I was going to buy Triggerhappy when I saw him in my local Walgreens, but I'll probably wait until Takara releases him, since it will definitely be nicer.

As somebody who buys both Takara and Hasbro, I have know about the Takara having this better plastic texture on them for a while now. The reason for this is that the plastic reuse value on the Takara vs Hasbro was pretty much Takara uses newly molded plastic while Hasbro uses those re-melted/re-grind plastic that were left overs from the plastic injection and shit.

Were you somehow under the impression that the Hasbro one was loose? Hasbro Brainstorm had paint that was too thick, though. It doesn't cause any problems for the main figure, but the shield-gun thing is impossible to be mounted onto his arm.

If Takara Skullcruncher had tight joints, that'd be a good example to use. Though I was actually lucky to get a Hasbro one with decent joints any way.

Forgot to mention the negative that Liokaiser obviously cost more than the others.

Also I suppose in theory I could repaint Slingshot or maybe get a spare Blast Off repainted into a better colored Slingshot. Or maybe a vortex repainted into a 'G2 Alpha Bravo' not that such thing exist but now it would.
