I really love figures with translucent plastic, I want to collect more see through figures but they're tricky to track down. Can we have a thread where we post our favorite translucent figs? Even a little use of translucent plastic is cool. I'll start with the Marvel Legends phasing variant Vision, always liked this fig.
There's lots of cool see through Godzillas out there.

You should check out the SotA Street Fighter figures. I think most of them, if not all, have a translucent version and they're a good size and come with pretty nice accessories.
>>6202857
Sweet I'll check those out.
One of my favorite Kenner Neca Preds.
>>6202852
The Kenner Batman and Robin movie Mr. Freeze figure had some translucent blue. It looks pretty neat.
There were also a number of 3.75 scale Starwars figures that were designed to emulate holograms and force echos from the movie.
Gravity builder has a clear set coming out.
Ice Man is almost always done translucent
Ghost Starscream
Invisible characters of get the treatment.
Out of sheer curiosity, I googled "translucent action figure" on ebay and got quite a few results. The most interesting things I saw were:
1. Marvel Legends Wonderman cast in translucent "Ionic" purple.
2. A few Hero Mashers marvel characters cast in translucent colors
3. An Alex Ross style Martian Manhunter cast in clear plastic.
4. Several Ghostbuster Slimer figures.
5. A spirit of Yoda vinyl bank that I actually kind of want to get now.
But of them, the Wonderman is probably the coolest looking one.
cant pic right nao...
1. glow in the dark swamp thing from kenner
2. force ghost obi wan mail away.
3. invisible predator from funko
>>6202885
I know for sure that Birdie also got a translucent figure as well.
>>6202859
Is that just a texture on the inside, or are there movable balls?
>>6203270
they're a texture sculpted on the inside.
>>6203270
It's some kinda insert
Robot Damashii Exia Trans-Am version. It's an exclusive but for some reason it goes for cheap--I have seen it going for as low as 45 bucks w/shipping on Amazon.
I'm surprised that no one have mentioned figma Crystal Bowie
>>6203326
Damn that's a hot tip this thing is beautiful. Thanks brother.
This old Target exclusive Silver Surfer is pretty dope. It's kinda hard to see but he's made of dark blue clear plastic with a bit of silver airbrushing and white speckles so he looks like space.
>>6203326
damn, that is one nice looking figure of one of my favorite Gundams
Legends have been doing a decent amount of translucent figures lately
>>6203445
>>6202852
I have two.
The hologram 10th Doctor Who, and Claude Rains from Heroes.
Will probably get the Dalek at some point
Beast Wars used a lot of translucent plastic, especially for the insectoid Predacons. IT worked well to capture the exoskeleton look a lot of those insects have. A lot of them do it in a very subtle way where the translucent aspect is only noticeable when really backlit
Lean evangelion revoltech
>>6204553
They also come in yellow, red, blue at 6" (yellow and illuminated purple are magazine exclusives), (purple red blue are a set)
And yellow and purple come at 4" which is part of a convention only purchase
>>6204562
Those mentioned there are kaiyodo revoltech, but kaiyodo have made some shittier 7" ones that come in blister packages, and have worse articulation and proportion
What's cooler than cool?
>>6202855
I found this toy. It's Godzilla, right?
Some Micro-Men are.
>>6202852
Microman, Henshin Cyborg, Glyos, Beast Wars Transformers (mainly non-Transmetal Predacons)
The green translucent one is from October Toys. They just closed down, so it might be a bit difficult to obtain them now.
>>6204907
Don't forget the Kenner Aliens wave 2.
Monev the Gale: Sub Zero Attack version.
Has a clear body with a glow in the dark skeleton inside. Looks great under blacklight.
>>6204958
>>6204914
Where is the dark grey one in the front from?
>>6204978
Revoltech
Genjuu Kakusei Wordian are pretty cool for candy toys.
rip
Can't forget the clear Jojo figures
Mafex holographic darth vader is one, the third party devastator called "gravity builder" is also getting a clear version.
Wish they would have made a 6 inch version of this.
I have these. The green and blue things are from a dollar store and have shit articulation, but they look cool.
Seems like a lot of collectors get tired of them but I really like all the "Emperor's Wrath" Vader figures. Very scene specific but can look really cool when displayed properly.
Speaking of Vaders, one that really comes to mind is the POTJ Dagobah Vader. Everything is translucent, including his (plastic!) cape, has really nice glowing red eyes, and his head comes off and a section of the helmet breaks away to reveal Luke's face like in Empire. One of Hasbro's all-time best figures IMO.
>>6204978
Kaiyodo Dokuroman skeleton from Japan. They're 1:18, have 19 POA and retail for the equivalent of 3 dollars in Japan. You can still get them on Rakuten Toysanta for a slight markup + int'l shipping fee (6 or 7 dollars).

>>6205297
The Mega Bloks/Construx line has "active camo" figures in every wave of blindbags.
>>6205075
In addition to this, the Iron Man 2 line had several more.
This one's alright.
>>6206259
This one would go well with the Inferno BAT. Has a separate torso armor, too.
>>6206268
This guy's my favorite, though. Translucent Mark V.
I loved that toyline. So many fun armors.
fuck now i want to collect clear toys
>>6202852
Mutagen Man's pretty dope.
The Marvel Infinites, or whatever, Living Laser sure is pretty, but the new articulation fucking suuuuucks.
>>6206372
Another MU figure that uses translucency very effectively is Blastarr.
>>6206407
The DCUC variant Deadman, too.
>>6206413
Orange Lantern Luthor is real fun, too.
>>6206418
Wraith is neat, but the armor hinders his articulation.
I'm one of the, like, 12 guys who bought Power Lords and this guy's cool.
Marvel Legends Radioactive Man, slinky little dress and all.
>>6205007
That looks pretty cool.
>>6202852
Are you me OP? Fuck yeah, translucent figures.
>>6206424
I remember the moment I took him out and moved his arm, all of his wrist tubes instantly snapped.
>>6204914
I'm so fucking glad I managed to grab two of the things, was really lucky I was lurking /ssg/ when they went up around last halloween.
Also Vitruvian Hacks has some really cool transparent bodies.
>>6206231
oooh
>>6206372
I picked one up and I regret it so much. It has worse articulation than figures from the same scale five years ago, what the fuck is the deal?
>>6206407
Keep in mind when purchasing online that the clear-hands Blastarr is a variant, the normal one just has blue gloves. Make sure you know what you're getting.
Also, I have this Blastarr and I love how they molded his biceps in clear and painted a grey gradient over them, it looks so fucking good.
This old Spawn dude is cool. Comes in red, too.
>>6203049
top of my wish list
>>6203049
The Dark Alliance Lucifer is a huge motherfucker at 10". GARBAGE comic, but great imposing devil guy, and the translucent variant is cool.
Wolverine Origins Iceman.
>>6206815
Also the old Toybiz AoA Iceman.
Diamond Emma Frost is... kinda neat.
>>6206815
that off blue makes him easy to double as a Dr.Manhattan
ML Ghost from the SDCC Thunderbolts set
There was these 1:18 figures in a line called Adventure Wheels or Motocross MXS. They had different colored skulls for heads. Some of the figures were translucent. At one point I found a search term on ebay where I was getting a bunch of listings for just the skeleton figures, but I can't figure it out now.
>>6209839
Good call!
>>6210777
What are Rorshach's pants from?
>>6210790
SDCC Destro.
>>6202852
/thread
I want this VF-25F, I know that the version 2 of this toys are better than this v1's but still I really like the translucent one.
>>6216348
Whoa, that rainbow-y sheen is seriously beautiful. It's like an oilslick.
>>6216348
That's the coolest thing in the thread by far.
>>6209887
pretty good for older MLs
>>6216799
The worst part about Ghost is that he has the annoying swivel hinge hips that need to be rotated. Otherwise, good figure.
Actually, wait. Mine feels just a bit gummy/bendy at the elbows and knees. But yeah. Other than that. Good.
>>6206424
Leoric?
When I was a kid ( early 90's ) I had a transparent G.I. Joe ninja. He was completely clear except he had a red dragon design painted on his torso. Does anyone know what it was? He may have been a knockoff but I've never seen another one anywhere.
Always a favorite of mine. I remember back in 2002 when he was considered rare as fuck and going for hundreds. Now you can get him for like 10 bucks.
>>6206761
I always wanted the red one. Damn.
