What Autobot characters are left that Hasbro could make a titan class version of? We've got Metroplex, Fort Max and next up will probably be Omega Supreme, Broadside could've been a possibility being that the mold would be reused for Tidal Wave but they blew the characters on voyager class versions.

Also what Primes do you want to see in POTP?
>>
>>6200945
Reasonable Omega Supreme like what they did with Metroplex. Stylized but not slavish g1. No weird pin head year of the snake omega
>>
>>6200945
Raiden could very well be a titan class combiner, though it will never fucking happen. I just hope they do Scorponok after Trypticon.

Autobot characters? Not many left unless you pick something more obscure. Still haven't seen eye of an RID Fortress Maximus repaint.

How about something more radical, like Unicron and Primus in a bigger size class... God class?
>>
>>6200952
I'd like the see the original G1 Omega Supreme get done before any newer iterations of the character too, I'm sure Hasbro has it in the works.

>>6200955
That would be a good idea.

Bigger than Titan class? You want it to be 4 feet tall and require multiple fuckin people to transform it?
>>
>release awesome show accurate figures in incredibly limited quantities
>then release inferior less show accurate gimmicky figures in all retail stores
I will never understand what the fuck Hasbro was thinking making the TF Prime First Edition figures in such limited quantities. I've been trying to find a First Edition Optimus for a week now at a fair price and they're all like $80 online LOOSE.

They're not gonna get any cheaper, those were cream of the crop engineering at the time. BBTS was trying to sell FE Prime for around that much a little while after they second release, glad I got mine while it was still $30~.
>>
>>6200982
They could easily make a grandus thats a leader class, have his legs fold up so he can homage his brick ass g1 self, have him use some parts from broadside for altmode.chest still needs to fold out and fit atleast a legends on the pad and some titan masters in his chest.

My bet for autobots is...
Possibly a re-imagined omega supreme that turns into the ark a la Animated
Primus as a new mold
Star Convoy (from metroplex, honestly look at aircraft carrier mode and tell me that's not a remold into prime waiting to happen)
The last autobot

it's not strange
I'm a texan and the only one's I've seen were literally a single megs and optimus the DAY they were put out, the first day they were available in the US (and they were bought within 2 days)
the legends hit florida first, so they probably are making their way past there.

Also, I've noticed that in some areas toys r us get them before walmart and target

I have no idea why California got wave 3 of the deluxes back in November, when the rest of us hadn't even gotten wave 2

My country's retail only stocks during Christmas and August, they sometimes start stocking shit by April but by that time they are already skipping waves left and right.
The rest are collectibles stores which all have scalper-tier prices for everything, think 20 dollars for a single Titan Master due to them getting uppity for being the only ones selling the things.

Considering that I wanted not a single deluxe from the first two waves, retail skipped all TMs from wave two, and they never got the wave two voyagers either, it's been pretty shit.
I wanted to try getting the TMs from Amazon but local customs are a literal crime syndicate when it comes to packages from the US and Europe.

>>6201038
Yeah, garbage. Like a lot of people, distribution in the US (LA here) sucks huge dicks. At least I finally saw Megatron, the new OP, and Wave 3 Titan masters in my local city target the other day. Would've bought Most of Wave 3 if they have released and stocked stuff competently but with various 3P companies releasing way more superior shit, might as well go the extra mile and get 3P versions of those characters
>>
>>6201230

3P stuff is expensive though. Not everyone can afford $85+ per figure. Those are MP prices, and people don't always have the budget for that.
>>
>>6201232
>people don't always have the budget for that
if they don't they should spend less time in norweigan ice fishing forums and more time getting a better job.
>>
>>6201232
>$85 per figure
>People buying near full waves with at least 2 $15 deluxes, and 2 $25 Voyagers with the random $50 leader thrown in

Some go Quality, some go Quantity. I'd rather 1 nice 3rd party a month than the sub-par figures I want from a wave of a childs toy line any day.
>>
>>6201240
To be fair there are the rare gems in official lines like TR Triggerhappy, Generations Springer and PRID Vehicon.

Hell, the TR line as a whole has been mostly solid so far. Definitely hooked me a lot more than Combiner Wars did but that might just be because I have a hard on for robots driving robots and I already buy 3P combiners that look leagues better than CW sets.
>>
>>6201242
>TR Triggerhappy

>>
>>6201295
Scorponok is a autobot? since when?
>>
>>6201240
leaders are 40-45, not 50
and sometimes, walmart had the deluxes down to 12.
So yeah, spending 90 dollars for five figures vs one, especially when you consider that many of the leader classes are bigger and better quality than 3p...
yeah, it's no wonder.

I'd much rather spend 200 bucks a year, smart shopping for deals and get 2 deluxes, 2 voyagers, a leader and a titan than get 2 leader a legion scaled 3p

I mean, you have a case to make for those who buy the takara versions.

I prefer a healthy mix. The Hasbro stuff satisfies my urge to complete collections, and the 3P stuff serves my needs for the rarer characters who haven't had updates in forever, or fills the hole for characters who won't get good updates ever.

What are your primary rules when it comes to a transformer toy, as in why would you by x related or what they should all have?

>5mm ports
>articulation that doesn't necessarily tie into transformation and is there just for the sake of movement
>redeco patterns or rule sets so you don't buy every single prime redeco
>certain characters remain a certain size
>where x gimmick DOESN'T affect fun factor of a toy
>certain rules of paint apps ie 3-4 colors and varied
>plastic colors vs paint ratios ie more for a varied paint job or enough so you can play without fear of rubbing off
>certain plastic types for certain places ie plastic not used on hindges gold plastic for the majority of a figure

Add more/debate examples?

I honestly feel 5mm ports should be required at this point

Spanner? Only he was a neutral, not an Autobot, and, oh yeah, nobody's ever heard of him.

ANIMATED OMEGA SUPREME, maybe?

Unicron? A movie-accurate Unicron?

Maybe it's time for a NEW citybot? Novel idea, I know, but it might be nice to have things which haven't been sort of hanging around for thirty years.

Here's an idea: how about a Titan class of some of the thirteen colony titans?

A Titan class combiner of either Monstructor or Predaking might be nice.

***

I want the Thirteen Primes. No bullshit. We already have Optimus and Alpha Trion and Vector Prime. And each has a different gimmick.

Prima: Titans. Yeah, I know they're all supposed to be Titans in size. Except Micronus.
Micronus: Headmaster/ Micromaster/ Minicon / Titan Master
Onyx: Beastformer.
Amalgamous: Multichanger.
Nexus: Combiner.
Quintus: Quintesson. So...face-swapping or something.
Alchemist: Some kind of app for your phone that lets you see augmented reality shit.
Solus: Chick. Maybe unlock powered modes in other Transformers? Like a Planet Key, except the only way you can activate them is with her hammer.
Liege Maximo: Pretenders. No obvious connection, but it's logical: he was always pretending to be something else than he was.
Megatronus: I dunno, electronics? A really huge gun with lights and sounds?

>especially when you consider that many of the leader classes are bigger and better quality than 3p...

You know it's always amusing as a high end collecter of MP's and 3P's seeing what the mainline purchasers think of all the nice things they can't afford. The levels of mental gymnastics and delusion will drive people to lie to themselves (and believe it) just in order to push out that same sour grape statement without fail every single time.

It's okay to be a purist and want to buy official only. It's okay to enjoy simpler, cheaper toys. But when you go full retard and start saying fucking Hasbro can shit out a better product for a fraction of the price of a good 3P release you out yourself as a shit spewer. You're going to have to cherry pick the most trash releases from 3P in order to make a single case for this shit.
>>
>>6201555
I only have one 3p, which is one of the Not Astrotrains, the one that's not Chigurgh or Evila Star. Whatever it is the quality is shit. It doesn't hold together well at all and transforming it is a white knuckle ride because the plastic is so cheap and nasty.

Now I'm not saying that all 3p toys are shit like that one is, but I've had much more fun with the few Leader toys I do have than I could ever hope to have with that thing.

Also bear in mind that the standard retail price of a Leader figure in my country is $100.

Leaders are still kids toys, more complex than a one step, but still a toy, designed to be fun and entertaining, it amuses me that we have stuff like leader movie prime competing with official mp's in terms of complexity but these days modern leaders offer no complexity, but plenty of fun.

From my time with my own mp's (mp10, inferno, shockwave, bumblebee, datsuns, lamo's etc) they look great and are good for budding phtographers, but as a "fun" toy they're lacking.

I can slap up my cw ultra magnus, do a few poses, then pop him back to truck in 10 mins, by the time I do that with mp delta magnus I can only be bothered to just gawk at him before I switch him back...the next day.

I have to import my mp's from mine or tru is gonna rape my wallet unnecessarily, and leaders aren't worth standard rrp here either (though less a handful than a mp delta magnus at 3x mark up, thank fuck for premium collectables)

My problem with tidalwave is more the fact he's a generations gen type retool his colors are good, the head is perfect, but the damn body is NOT tidalwave in the slightest.

As much as I hate the shit jet form the body is a perfect fit for a gen broadside, just because it turns into an aircraft carrier doesn't make it good enough for tidalwave

>But when you go full retard and start saying fucking Hasbro can shit out a better product for a fraction of the price of a good 3P release you out yourself as a shit spewer

Except they can, because economies of scale are a thing. If Hasbro wanted to make something big and fancy, they could make it for cheaper, because they are one of the two biggest toy companies on the planet and have better deals with factories and distributors. But they don't want to do that because the profit margins are smaller and there isn't a large enough customer base to make it worthwhile to them.
>>
>>6201622
Sometimes it hits all three, yet I can't bring myself to buy it when the toy has several issues like easily stressed translucent joints, weak yet massive rubber parts, locking problems, brittle plastic mold and the like
>>
>>6201352
I like enjoy heavily articulated stuff, big characters (good lord combiner wars was hard on my wallet), impressive transformations and really clean robot modes.

And just recently
>STICKERS

Lot of stuff is secondary, like how much articulation does it have? Does it have a melee weapon but no wrists? Does it have 5mm compatability? Of course if it is a really cool design, I can look past some of those, like DOTM Laserbeak.

Pic related was one of the hardest passes in my life. Great design with a bitchin' altmode ruined by rubber and fused curling wrists. Really all the AOE dinobots were disappointing except Swoop. Thankfully Scorn is getting a new improved toy. Hopefully it isn't ruined by more rubber spines.

>but one wonders how TRU might compete better if prices were in line with the competition.
The last Deluxe I bought from TRU was Hardhead, wayyyyy back in July. I went back this weekend to see if they had any of wave 3 yet, and not only did they have nothing but Wave 1 Legends in stock, the pricetag for Deluxes read 22.99. That's insane, I paid 16.99 back in July.

There's a toy collector's store that opened up in a local mall, and they usually get a small stock of current-wave TFs. I used to think of them as terribly overpriced, they were asking 19.99 for Deluxes, which is a steal now. They want 16.99 for legends class, though. Sorry, but I don't want Gnaw that badly.

My local Wal-Mart never has anything in stock. Target usually has a couple of Titan Masters.

My most reliable place to buy Transformers has become my local Walgreens, which always has a single peg full of deluxes for 17.99. I've still never seen anything beyond wave 2 at retail. These are dark times.
>>
>>6201889
I'm in weird situation as well. Buying toys locally was a pain the ass, and it was almost always better to import since the prices, and shipping were lower than retail plus taxes, but then shipping costs increased, online shops overcharged even more than before, and TRU started putting them up deluxes and voyagers at retail price. It doesn't help that Amazon, one of my go to places to buy Transformers, has had awful stocking for the past few years.
>>
>>6201915
How can one of the biggest toy franchises in the world have such shitty distribution?
>>
>>6201919
I honestly have no idea. They randomly had wave 3 deluxes in December, and that's the only time I saw them. They must have put them up later in the day since they full case of 8 on the pegs, and no one had claimed anything.

Today? I haven't seen them TR deluxes since that day, Leaders are what they still have available from wave 1, and voyagers are just returned Sentinels, or Galvatron's that get sold not too long after. It's almost been 2 months since they last restocked.

Exchanges and refunds in the US are covered by their strong consumer protection laws. Most businesses there do it with no-questions-asked to avoid the hassle of lawsuits. That's why you see ridiculous shit like Oranges-for-Soundwave.jpg

Not so much in the rest of the world. My asian TRU explicitly prints on all receipts that Hasbro goods (TF/SW/MLP etc.) are non-refundable or exchangeable in any way.

Honestly wouldn't care if the new Scorn has rubber spines. That falls under the category of "if it breaks off one day I can still enjoy the rest of the toy".

Stickers and rubbers can be fine if done well. I have 10 years old Lego sets with self-applied stickers and rubber tires, and they're all good as new. But when you get factory workers to clumsily put on stickers, and use rubber parts in key articulation parts, that's a problem.

they're like 80 ameribucks over here, for one.

Also I can't choose. Somehow none of them really speak to me, Sixshot seems sort of clunky. Sky shadow is nice but he's basically Overlord, which is a little bit of a shame. I was really waiting for overlord, but the computer images just don't make him look delightful or very different from Sky Shadow at all.

Help me out with some pros and cons

To be honest anon, I'm pretty much in the same camp you are. I was really excited for Six Shot and Overlord but somehow Sky Shadow ended up the most appealing out of the three. To me he seems to have the best aesthetic and look. Both bot mode and vehicle modes look good as well. I just can't pull the trigger on account of the lack of articulation and simple transformation.

This reminds me, did Hasbro ever confirm if Quickswitch is getting the helmet he has in the renders? The toy on display just used the Sixshot helmet.

Not like I'll get him, but if Takara puts him out in Sixknight colors, I might jump on it.
>>
>>6202796
Ask a /vr/ thread, they have informative discussions on why some yellow and some don't. Mine never did, but I see lots of anons do regardless of whether they or family members ever smoked or not. There supposedly some methods to bleach the stain out of the plastic shells, but I've not looked into it.
>>
>>6202801

I think some kind of peroxide scrub can do it, but it also makes the plastic more brittle. Same thing people use to whiten old yellowed TF's?
>>
>>6202801
>>6202805
It has to do with the plastics used, some are just molded in different stuff.

Also most of the de-yellowing techniques ruin the integrity of the plastic because they basically just melt or scrub off a thin outer layer of plastic.
>>
>>6202309

I don't know what you're talking about, that figure is fantastic.
I mean, sure they could have made her calves a little thicker, but that would have left her thighs being about the same size as her calves, which isn't very in character for her.
and her thighs are far more important to her transformation than her calves, so there you go.
wider legs would also have required a wider car front to accommodate them, and honestly the front was already a little too wide.

>Do all SNES's yellow like that?
No. It has to do with a flame-retardant chemical used in the plastic. Certain batches are more prone to yellowing, whether in direct sunlight or not. Different parts of an SNES will turn yellow to different degrees just depending on luck of the draw.
