I'm not really sure how they're gonna do the pauldron for variants though, one of the first things I tried was putting a black series one on him and his neck's just too short for it. It fits fine on the FO one, so I'm guessing even if it just clipped onto that mystery tab on his shoulder it'd still be a tight fit.

Do you have the phase two clone trooper btw? I hated the prequels, but that was a pretty good design. I'm just wondering how clunky it is compared to the others.

I'm optimistic that they'll be able to do it fairly well if they keep the pauldron material thin and have it secured close to the body via the mystery tabs. If they do the Jedha trooper with the backpack, I imagine they're going to do something similar to the FO heavy trooper and have the pack's straps sculpted as part of the trooper's torso, which would also aid in keeping the profile slim for any extra stuff.

I do not! The Phase II looks weird to me in plain white, so I'm holding out for a version with unit markings (like the 501st or something).

I believe it uses the exact same body as the Phase I though, with the helmet being the only difference.

My Rogue One Stormy arrived a few days ago. So much better than I expected it to be! Fully painted armor, flawless paint apps, fun and awesome in hand...

Don't tell Bandai I said so, but honestly, it feels like a steal at $45. It's the stormtrooper toy I've wanted for nearly forty years.

It's pretty good, ankle tilts are a bit limited due to design. The most articulated Predator in the market, good amount of accessories.

Gripe is that the mouth, unless you don't mind touching it up yourself. Paint's ugly, the alt. pieces ruin the look of it. Thankfully the helmet exists.

I'm surprised at how little reaction this review has gotten here. Minus the fact that for some weird reason they fucked up Ryu's soles they look pretty great. I've read the other thread of anons fighting over Chun-Li being too "animeish" and I can totally understand that...but it's precisely why I loved it: she stands more of a general representation of her as opposed to the cartoonish look SFIV has going for or the classic sprite that is impossible to reproduce in figure form....something like a mix between modern & alpha era.

That being said, I wish Ryu came with two more hands instead of a stupid background. I'm really looking forward to Cammy and maybe Ken & Ibuki in the future

I love the look of Chun-Li too, her looks doesn't limit her to just the SFV looks so I can now do a CvS2 setup with the figma KoF or a MvC setup withMarvel figures from Figuarts or Revoltech. OK; I am starting to get back into Figuarts (was out of work for a bit). Looking at the Kinnikuman figures (big fan of MUSCLE), and got a question about Warsman....

If I get the anime color (IE cool version) of Warsman, which goes for $100 and up, I only get a single head and have to buy Neptune Man to get an extra head (robot head face with removable mask).

BUT if I buy the much the cheaper and lamer looking manga color Warsman, I get THREE bonus heads (Warsman crying, Warsman smiling, and the unmasked Warsman head from Neptune Man), two of which (crying and smiling) are exclusive to the manga color version?

Also, why do none of the Robin Mask figures not have his unmasked head? I know they have his Baracuda rubber mask face, but not not his actual unmasked face. And why no Terryman?

As other said, anime Warsman is only missing the unmasked head. It has the other two heads the manga color Warsman has.

The chief thing is this: if you don't want to spend a lot of money and don't have any interest in Neptuneman, buy the manga colors Warsman.

If you want to pay scalper price for anime color Warsman but want all three of his heads, you'll need to buy Neptuneman.

Now, I'd argue that Neptuneman is a pretty neat figure too. But you can get both Neptuneman and manga Warsman for the price of anime Warsman

As someone who collected MUSCLES as a kid, can someone explain to me the backstory and shit? I recognize a lot of the characters but know nothing about who or what they are backstory-wise.....

Kinnikuman was a super-hero parody (think Ultraman) about a masked crybaby/slob superhero from a race of people, who from the moment they shoot out their mom's vagina, ALL must wear masks. This becomes a major plot point, in terms of bad guys trying to force Kinnikuman to unmask, since if he ever unmasks, he would have to kill himself.

Kinnikuman is the main character/hero. Has a midget sidekick/manservant.

Like most male centric Shonen mangas, the original concept got tossed out in favor of tournement arcs based around pro wrestling, which was having a resurgence at the time in Japan and in America.

Some of the characters were parodies of existing wrestlers. Neptune Man basically is a mishmash of Hulk Hogan and Freebird Michael Hayes. Terryman, is Dusty Rhodes though he looks way more like Dustin Rhodes, pre-Goldust gimmick.

Robin Mask and Warsman were original characters though. Robin Mask is an evil British wrestler an Warsman, the half-machine/half-human son of a Russian woman and a robot (don't ask, they never explained it) that Robin Mask trained to kill Kinnikuman after Kinnikuman beat Robin Mask. Both eventually reformed and became good guys.

Other characters include Brocken (Nazi guy) and Ramenman (pretty much a walking, talking racist joke character). Ramenman and Brocken, along with Warsman (who's introductin arc is super-violent) was why the manga and anime were never brought over. Way too anti-PC.

Terryman is based on Terry Funk, hence the names and his use of Funk's moves. Dusty got Beauty Rhodes as a tribute character instead.

It was the Endor head and it's identical in production. Only difference is the glossy plastic vs the mat clay seen here.
They re-released the figure, but you can tell that the mold has worn out, as the details are softer than when it was first used.

Maul is straight up one of their better faces, the lines on both of my heads are damn near flawless. And what are you talking about, maul doesn't even use the dot printing method.

Molding shifts are practically impossible to tell with new figures and you need expert tools to measure the differences, because the human eye has a hard time with such miniscule differences

Either way, the likeness on the production figure is spot on. Only the eyes look off, because of cheapo paint.

Just shows that Han isn't a hard face to do, since Hasbro has gotten it right more than thrice. Even Gentle Giant has produced a good one in their Bust Ups series.

OK, I literally looked at him under a magnifying glass and you're right, the eyes are dots, ditto with the teeth. All his face tattoos are regular paintwork though, and those hold up under close inspection. If we're talking paintwork of of this scale and intricacy, he's still probably be the best figure I own.

As far as I can tell, the only sculpted lines are along the outsides of his face where the red tattoos start. They do line up with the paint very well though.

I agree with everyone saying ONE SINGLE face is kind of insulting for the asking price, but at least, as a consumer myself, I'm happy beyond belief at how good Harrison likeness turned out...he has a very peculiar face and it's spot on IMO, a solid 8/10. Like i said, Harrison Ford isn't hard to do. Lots of figures got him right. Some sculptors just can't do it, some can.
It's not impossible, unlike Luke, where every single one fails. He just looks too different, blobby almost, that it looks wrong no matter who does it. Even in photos of the actual actor shift and change, where he doesn't look like Mark, even pre-crash.
He has a lumpy face; where eccentuating any of the lumps looks bad and if you don't accentuate those lumps, it doesn't look like Mark.

I see your point but I personally like both SHF from Luke so far....and I concur, they both look different just like the actor did in several photos and movies. None is perfect, but it's still damn good. I don't have a problem with ppl being nitpicky about them...but they're still are the best and quite decent. Even the creepy grinning face of ANH is not that inaccurate if you see the original source. If anything, I think ANH Luke could've had better hair...but that haircut was a clusterfuck to begin with.

Nuu's reviews are excellent precisely because he shows you the figures in macro detail with a very artificial, harsh lighting setup. Almost everything he reviews looks like shit because it shows up even the tiniest flaws. Figures that look passable in his reviews are excellent in-hand.

That said, don't try and pretend like it's fair to use his harshly-lit macro closeups for comparison images. It really isn't.

I still don't see how that isn't fair.

People here buy and inspect their toys pretty carefully if they know a line has spotty QC. Eyes and scuffed paint, even in 1:18 lines are checked to make sure they're even and applied properly. Comparing faces to see all the details are there is commonl.

If you haven't noticed, a lot of criticism so far isn't even about his blurry looking face because of the dot matrix printing. It's about how the sculpt is off, how the features are wide and puffy looking.
And the only way to properly evaluate that is with the photo that was provided.

So maybe you should stop pretending that people should only look at low resolution photos, like most of us have eye problems.

People seem down on him and I understand why, but I really like him. It feels like bandai put more effort into his articulation than usual for their marvel stuff because he's a bugman, and it helps. More hands would have been nice, but he's also cheaper than most other stuff in his line.
