I broke down and ordered 'The Thinker' figma from aliexpress. $15. On a scale from 'Not at all' to 'screaming banana shit nipples' how fucked am I?
Pic Related: the fucker in question.
>>6196287
I'm pretty sure they're like the MP transformers kos. Made in same factory when the bosses leave or are line rejects with minor defects or a missing accessory.
The other figma kos I've bought are usually the same minus an accessory or extra hand.
That sounds pretty cool
>>6196287
Link op? I'm interested in buying one.
>>6196287
Isn't The Thinker meant to have his fist on his forehead?
>>6196464
You're thinking of Winnie the Pooh.
>>6196287
Hard to say. In my experience the bootleg Archetype figma's are decent for what you pay, but Snake's bootleg was a clusterfuck of problems as was Saber Bride. If the real figure uses pull-out shoulders, or the newer chest-to-torso joints you're fucked. Biggest concern though are the regular balljoints snapping on you.
>>6196287
They're fine for display but the joints are extremely poor quality and brittle.
I pulled mine out of the box and went to switch hands to put him in thinker pose and the joints just disintegrated.
>inb4 OMFG HAMHANDS FAGGOT
I put very little pressure on it and the joint snapped off in the forearm.
And since figma joints are an absolute bitch to find I'm pretty much boned.

>And since figma joints are an absolute bitch to find I'm pretty much boned.
actually you can get a random colored bag of those from ebay, and while they are from china/hongkong, they are actually the real deal, how the seller managed to get those is a mystery, either those joints failed QC tests or simply were stolen. there's a chance you will get one or two out of the 10-75 pieces that are broken though
>>6196287
i'm curious of how the bootleg will look like.
once it arrives can you post some pics, OP?

Didn't see the same price but close enough.
>>6197378
Can do.
>>6197189
I'm hammed in the hands as well. Thought it would be a good piece to sit on my desk at work while I shuffle paper work and shit.
>>6197466
There are some photos in the review section of that listing.
>>6197472
Saw them. Looks pretty solid for what I want it for. If it cuts the mustard, I'll get the Venus de Milo and David figmas as well.
So... in last few minutes of my last post. My wife came to me and told me she placed an order on this site. She knows I love Zelda shit and Figmas so.... she ordered 4 Link figs. It was like $96
.... worst case: scammed for shit
.... best case: share an AliE haul
.... mfw
>>6197368
I tried that actually but they were all too large. No wrist joints at all. I guess I could try again.
>>6196652
I always get Rodin's Thinker and Winnie the Pooh confused
>>6197189
>since figma joints are an absolute bitch to find
Bullshit.
There's the lots for sale on eBay (as has been pointed out) Also there's 2 types made by Hobby Base that are used for Figmas.
1 The Hobby Base Slim Which are your basic older style Figma joints (but they'll work for most of the newer figures as well.
>>6198849
2 These guys. Which will work for the newer Figmas. YOu can also make double ended ball joints, and the T joint used for the hips.
Both of these are available at HLJ, and other places.
Update: I just got notice that everything has left China.
Side note: Would anyone be interested in me posting a video unboxing on youtube?
It will be terrible.
>>6201371
Video no, but do post pics
>>6201371
Would love some no nonsense pics, ie no box pics, just toy packaging and reveal.
Can't wait to see it. I've had a good laugh about this thread on more than one occasion. One guy I was talking to said the art piece knockoffs weren't that bad though so let's keep hope alive.

>>6202520
Got one figure in. Majora's Mask Nendoroid came in. Came with everything here. Very surprised at the quality.
>>6218470
Has anybody gotten a decent knockoff LBW Link from this site?
I need one for a custom.
>>6218513
One is on it's way. Its held up in customs.
>>6197513
Ouch. Overpaying for bootlegs is the worst, she probably trusted the listing photos which are usually from the legit figure sample and not of the garbage you're actually ordering.
You'll probably end up massively dissapointed. Better open a dispute claiming you never received them (even if you do) and do away with them, instead of trying to pose them and ending up with a broken toy you can't sell.
>>6218586
The one I got today is great. I'm excited to see the others.
>>6218535
Okay cool.
I will keep an eye on this thread then.
Wind Waker Link arrived today. Again, pleasantly surprised.
>>6219062
is this the new EZ edition?
>>6196287
Put it on a little marble pedestal and put a black stripe on the pedestal and you will have your very own cosplay prop from ace attorney.
IIRC the better quality ones like these Nendos are just factory rejects. GSC has a pretty high standard of quality, i.e. all faces with slightly misplaced tampo print go unused (which of course don't just get thrown away or destroyed as GSC would have it but used to make these instead).
Sadly not all bootlegs are made this way, other times the chinks just steal defective molds or worse, try to make their own copies from scratch, with varying degrees of "success"
