Doing some quick comparison here, that's a repaint of the AvP Warrior with new digigrade legs. Those lower half legs do look like Resurrection ones though so maybe we are seeing a portion of the Resurrection Xeno indeed.

I'd say the chances are good. It's obvious that they are chomping at the bit to find loopholes in licensing agreements to do stuff they want (DVD Batman is an obvious example, now the VS figures). I was tempted, but there's no discount for buying the whole wave together and shipping is almost 17 dollars. Equals $85.81 for a wave that would cost 70ish dollars from BBTS with warehouse shipping. Its nothing like that at all, though. Frankly, you sound massively autistic, and the colors change in the lighting for various reasons anyway. This is way more like how people were bitching about how the Alien Queen had blue in it, when that was what the model was like anyway, or whatever. It just looked off because of the way the lighting was in the movie.

I don't know what exactly you expect for NECA to do. Most of the Xenos are a solid color--usually black--anyway, with some highlights no matter what the source or media is. NECA has given them all highlights of some form to bring out the detail and stuff, which is about all you can do.

The new protomorph looks like a smaller fleshy/pale version of the Deacon, only it has the tail and spines like a normal Xeno.

I think it's the same one, so unless it's some kind of new transformation, it seems different from the Deacon.

Only reason I said that the Deacon is different is because they said that the Deacon was a unique case of a Xeno born from an Engineer, and how it wasn't actually a prototype Xeno despite what a lot of people originally thought.

It would definitely explain why the Deacon had such a different morphology and design since it was more of special case. These new xenos from Covenant are probably the same "Neomorph" that were leaked way back.

That looks like it might be using bits of the 'Beluga alien', too. The Beluga was creature in Spaihts' early script that was cut completely from Prometheus. After Holloway is infected (by a type of Facehugger, in this version), a boneless creature tears out of his chest and gets lose on the ship. It develops into the Beluga. The ratcheting jaws used in the Deacon were originally planned for the Beluga.

When most people talk about Alien 3 having "bad CGI," many don't realize that most of the movie was done with practical effects and/or puppets. However, the movie DOES look like shit. Due to the rather primitive chroma keying tech used to composite the alien into the shots, it tends to look really bad and fake and shitty. This is even worse if you watch it on Blu-Ray, you can clearly see the poorly cut-out edges on the alien and the mismatched lighting. It's a real shame, cause it sounds like they went to a ton of work building a 1/3 scale puppet and having 4-5 people manually operating it in realtime. Having all that effort amount to this shit-looking footage really sucks.

Heat up the hole with a hair dryer.

The combination of the soft hole (from the heat) and the hard plastic ball joint on the crest piece should allow it to pop in more securely. The holes are too shallow though so it'll likely pop out again if you move it too much.
