Come on Boss, only you can fix the past, only you can bring to us the toy of Jenny we never had, you are the only hope, the chosen ones, we count on you guys...

(also make she less heady than the old prototype)
>>
>>6185674
no aproximate release date?
>>
>>6185674
oddly enough, I like the overall proportions of the old toy best, but the head sculpt on this looks good. I might still get it if the price point is reasonable.
>>
>>6185753
They're doing a number of characters and Jenny has been mentioned numerious times by fans so they likely will sculpt her fairly early into this line. And likely she'll have GI Joe levels of articulation, with ankle rocker joints and interchangable hands and maybe faces like Bucky has.

Ouch. It hurts to say this, but I kinda hate it.

The old Bucky figure mostly holds very true to the artwork proportions in my opinion. The new one's legs and torso seem overly long, and his hands seem too short. His....cheek fuzz is too small and his teeth are too short. Shit, even the ears on the original better capture that sort of "crinkled" look in the art.

This hurts me deeply, cause I have wanted an updated Bucky toyline for a long time. Sad to say, this is likely a pass for me.
>>
>>6185764
>>6185918

Come on guys put away the nostalgia glases, the new one is much better than the old plastic potato
>>
>>6185918

I dont know how to say this in english but the trouser's "ears" are not suposed to be downwars instead of upwards?
>>
>>6185745
Yeah, it's really weird. TMNT is one of the only things I never really got.
Though I'm planning on giving Usagi Yojimbo a go soon, so I may try TMNT again soon too.
>>
>>6185989
You'd say concave vs convex. That drawing and the figure on the left are convex while the right figure is concave. Not versed in the material enough to say which is more accurate since that's just one drawing and ears tend to move.
>>
>>6185674
>>6185675
Their 4" figures start at $20, how much more for something with this many extra pieces?
>>
>>6185918
The ears and teeth, sure. The rest I feel is quite good. The legs are at least as long in that art as they are on the figure. If anything the feet are too small as they're huge in that art. The cheek hair I feel are close enough. And besides, unlike the original figures they're not trying to emulate the art, I feel like it's almost what a more realistic version of the character would look like.
>>
>>6185989
>>6185992
I think he means the part of his "trousers" that poke outward from the thigh. In the new figure they definitely point upwards. Trouser's "ears" vs. his actual ears.
>>
>>6186015
> I think he means the part of his "trousers" that poke outward from the thigh. In the new figure they definitely point upwards

this, sorry I dont know how to express the concept in english, you explained well
>>
>>6185674

I'm intrigued by the faceplates more than anything else. I don't know...I'll have to see how much they want before I put down for it.
>>
>>6186098
Their figures are usually around $20 and always come with things like multiple interchangeable hands and several weapons and pieces of armor and a figure stand. Guarantee these will price about the same and be around the 3 3/4 scale.
>>
Give me a Toadborg. I will buy it for $40.
>>
I want a Deadeye, Blinky, and Berserker Baboon!
>>
>>6185918
Agreed.
I'd say I'm the target audience for these (having been a huge fan since I was a kid) and this new figure looks lame.
I'd prefer a line that looks like the original line.
>>
>>6185989
>>
>>6185918
I'm just glad he's not in that horrible 80's action figure pose that all toys did back then, like He-Man and TMNT, you know, like he's trying to go super saiyan and powershit his pants.
>>
>>6186046
I think the trousers are supposed to be Jodhpurs, so the "ears" would be called "flares" in english, and you're right, in the artwork they flare down near the knee, but in the new figure they flare upward into a point, and it looks weird.
>>
>>6185918
All this thread has done for me is make me want to rebuy the old Bucky figure, since mine was lost sometime during my childhood. Man, for the time it looked GREAT. No fuck that, it still looks great. That headsculpt is so crisp and there's a nice feel to the whole thing.
>>
Id rather wait for Deadeye Duck. Bucky's suit is so outdated/out of place for a 80-90's sci-fi series
>>
>>6187091
This picture makes me uncomfortable.

Also, Bucky's suit is fine imo, he's a captain and it kind of recalls old naval uniforms with the brushy shoulderpads. Other than that, it's really not much different than Deadeye. It's a basic jumpsuit with gloves and boots.
>>
the size of those things will be like... the Vitruvian Hacks? since those characters are shorter than a adult human I supose the toys will be even shorter than the Vitruvian guys

Arround 30$/€ I supose will be price, they come with bigger accesories and is a brand frachise
>>
>>6186242
>I'm just glad he's not in that horrible 80's action figure pose that all toys did back then, like He-Man and TMNT, you know, like he's trying to go super saiyan and powershit his pants.

In addition to making figures look larger than the molds they were cast in, bent arms and legs were meant to give a level of dynamism to figures that only had five points of articulation (or less).

Have you ever looked at an action figure with 5 points of articulation that stands upright? It's the most boring looking thing in the world.
>>
>>6185984

not really, the hands and feet and proportion feels off and while the original's pose leaves a bit much to be desired, my ideal figure for this would be a mix of the two.

This. I've gone back to collecting the 90's POTF2 figures because most of the new Star Wars figures are in stagnant standing up straight with their hands and their sides poses. That's fine for say, a happy meal toy, but for something I get from a company like Hasbro, I expect it to at least have a little bit of dynamic posing, even at only 5 poa.

But on the other end of the spectrum, I hate when the pose is too dynamic and only looks good in like, one or two positions. I also hate Y-cut hips.

>was going to use McD's Power Rangers figures from 1995, but they are still pretty dynamic for 5POA figures
>was going to use Burger King's Universal Monster figures, but same problem
>saw an image of ReAction Universal Monsters in that search, and they were a good example

What's the world coming to when modern toys pale in comparison to old fast food kids meal toys?

why is a random naked chick part of the line
>>
>>6188070
It's a regular Vitruvian Hack figure by Bossfight. It shows the scale is GI Joe size.

For some reason I can't quite explain, it's really, REALLY bothering me the way his fingers flare outwards on that spread hand. It looks so shitty and makes him look like he's doing some cheap magic trick.

I think it's also creeping me out that his fingers are so thin and tiny. It's weirdly unnerving.
>>
>>6187982
The new one is a very nice improvement, I want to see it painted also at least the 3d render of the other characters, looking good but I want to see more...

so, when this toys will be ready to preorder/purchase? spring? summer?
>>
>>6188703
They go up for pre-order in spring and are teasing other figures. We're very likely getting Jenny and Storm Toad.
>>
>>6187112
yeah but he's more dressed for outer space, while Bucky's more dressed for inner space...or the sea
>>
>>6188532
well, he comes with two more pairs of hands and two more faces, so you can throw them down a dark deep well and never see them again if they really bother you that much
>>
>>6187967
>>6187976
All that articulation is going to be useless, but Mezco's Earthworm Jim had almost no articulation and it was also disappointing.
Older toy designers were genius tier, those figures are still better.
>>
>>6189821
Sure I can toss those particular ones, but his other hands are still just as puny. It looks really strange somehow...the design really needs large hands to balance it out.

yeah you nailed almost every part of it that bothers me. I would have loved an update to this. Any way you can get this to them somehow maybe as a suggestion, as a tweet that a lot of people can retweet to show support for, etc?
>>
>>6185991
I'm like you, and I didn't even knew about this character before being mentioned by BFS being this proably something very USA hardcore.
But still I hope it sells good so they kept getting value and bring more 4" figures.
>>
>>6190152
I dont think it's so bad but I like some of your modifications

>>6190158
thanks for the color preview, hope you will do the same with Jenny once we have her, is a nice way to imagine how the toy will look (your eyes looks cute)

>>6190246
Never heard this guy here in Spain but I like this space mutant like cartoons from the 90's: Motor Mice from Mars, Street Sharks, TMNT, Dinosauces, Silverhawks... back in those days all the cool guys where robo mutant cyborg interdimensinal alien shooting lasers from their eyes with misile launchers in their bikes...
I loved this stuff when I was a kid, very "radicool"

...I miss those days
>>
>>6190180
I dunno, sorry. I don't even use Twitter or anything. If any of you want to tweet this to Bossfight feel free. Maybe they'll just feel insulted by it though, haha.
>>
>>6185918
it's almost awesome...but
the goggles are too high up and the hands are too small.
Someone else pointed out buck teeth too small....his name is Bucky ffs.
also his olde tyme pilot pants the point is angled too high up.

It's like they scaled back on the cartoony aspects of his design, which is the wrong decision imo.
love his cocky smirk though
>>
>>6190484
Are you trying to say these are problems with the actual toy? or with the fixed 'shopped one in the post you're quoting? Cause i think a lot of that was addressed already. Unless like, you STILL think the hands and teeth are too small and stuff like that.
>>
>>6190152
Holy shit! Much better. Now if they could scale it up so it's bigger than 3" that'd be great.
>>
>>6191053
3 3/4 is dead stop using that. figures have been 4 inches for years now. that pink one is 4 inches.
>>
>>6185918
If the leg was unbent on the old figure they seem like they'd be the same length honestly. Eyes might be better painted aswell.

All I ask is that the line not die before we get Deadeye Duck. He was my favorite character.
>>
Another new pic from the Neal Adams art display showing the new Bucky compared to other vintage figures.
>>
>>6197514
That's what I want too, I'm guessing he's high on the list though, Bucky, the girl will likely get made second to appease furries/the fanbase and then Deadeye Duck. As long as Bucky doesn't bomb which is possible I think the Duck will get made.
>>
Autists will still complain about this despite how much more accurate it is.
>>
>>6200198
Look at the Photoshopped one above and try to tell me the Bossfight sculpt is "more accurate" with a straight face. Go ahead.
>>
>>6200198
the new one looks amazing, I want to see the other crew members, specially Jenny since her vintage toy was never released, poor Jenny...

The sad thing is... I have the feeling even if the figures looks well it will not sell too much, how manny people remember this series? it dont have anny kind of reeboot or something so I'm afraid it will be a short run witch means we will have just a couple of characters but not much more...

I want to be wrong but it's my sensation, I dont know how big was this franchise in USA
>>

Literally the changes were based on a subjective idea of what Bucky O'hare looked like and not accurate to the existing material out there including comics and the cartoon. Bossfight's is far more accurate to the existing media on the character. The photoshopped version looks more like an attempt to make it look like the vintage figure.
>>
>>6201029

*Revoltech
>>
>>6201145
I see your points, but the simple fact is that I think the Bossfight sculpt is hideous. And ultimately, that's what decides if I buy the toy or not--I don't care how "accurate" something is if I hate how the end result looks.

That was intended to be in the show, but as we only got 13, it never came to be. If the series had gone on longer, a variant of Jenny with that helmet would have been in Wave 3, and eventually...
>>
as well as...
>>
>>6206806
why only 13 episodes? what made stops so soon?
>>
>>6206812
Several factors- the toys didn't sell well enough, there were too many Air Marshall figures hogging and warming shelfspace, and the figures we did get were released too far apart (over several months, instead of all at once)
>>
>>6206812
13 episodes is pretty standard.
It's half a season, and allows a TV channel to see if they're willing to pay more to get the entire season.

So it's why cartoons like that new Voltron has 13 episode seasons.
Full seasons are usually 26 episodes, but smaller networks like to split them in half and call those a full season.
>>
>>6206806
If this had been released it probably would have been my favorite toy as a kid.

>>6206808

KOMPLEX would have had a lenticular lens sitcker for his face- but judging by the lineart, it would have ended up being inaccurate to the series.
