They're not hard to sculpt.

We're just too used to seeing them with make up on, which hides their sculpted features and toy companies don't have professional make up artists with photoshop experts to back them up

I don't think the OP was necessarily talking about beauty, but likeness.

But beauty can be a matter of millimeters at 1:1 scale, so translating that down to a 12, 6, or 4 inch figure can be hard.
http://ucsdnews.ucsd.edu/archive/newsrel/soc/12-09Beauty.asp

>>6184555
You make a really good point. Sculptors should take make-up into account and sculpt the likeness of the person with make up on.
>>
>Playmates Star Trek line
>male actor likenesses are often very good

As evidenced by the rather anime Tasha Yar and the slightly softened Ro Laren.

>You make a really good point.
I think you missed the point, in that you're completely unrealistic with your expectations from real life women.
You think you can't notice a person's features just because they try to hide it behind make up? In person, it's very obvious what a person has done and a sculpted toy should and does reflect that.
If anything, the smaller scale is actually doing what make up is supposed to do, because toys are simplifying a person's features. Obviously, a female in heavy make up won't be as simplified.
>>
>>6184806
Someone once tried to convince me that the gays who control the fashion industry are trying to push tranny faced women to try and normalize homosexuality, so straight dudes will accept twinks and trannies. It still doesn't quite connect but sometimes I think that anon was onto something.

What the hell is with America and man-faced women? It's not attractive so they have to literally paint their face with shadows and highlights baked in to change the perception of their facial structure.

>>6184555
>toy companies don't have professional make up artists with photoshop experts to back them up
This sounds right. Most toys get popped out without any sort of paint to emulate makeup, so you end up with some ugly ass shit on a sculpt that should be mostly accurate since they just 3D scan faces now.

Gotta stick to superior 2D, which is still superior even when translated to 3D.

Most people are just shit artists.

Again, look at the Heidi Klum comparison image and how the make up looks "natural". That's what a great artist is capable of.

And again, most attractive western females have manly features. Most females in general are that way, if somewhat less so or youthful looking.
So either you're not used to being around grills because you watch too much weebshit or not from the west.

okay that's not fair since she has a running joke of being a man-jaw and man face and man hands and is generally not considered hot even though she caters to unwashed virgins. at least pick a hot female man
>>
>>6184912
Like her or not, she was still popular enough that she sold magazine by appearing in them.
Just shows what men and teenagers like.

Having a manly jaw is very common, because there's only so many ways a human skull can be shaped and still look human. Some females have such chubby faces that it doesn't become readily apparent until they're thin adults, and then you can look at their body of work and can't unsee that manly butt-chin even her first movies.

So when a toy is sculpted, defining features like the cleft jaw will be put in and not even hollywood make up artists could hide that.

>Someone once tried to convince me that the gays who control the fashion industry are trying to push tranny faced women to try and normalize homosexuality, so straight dudes will accept twinks and trannies. It still doesn't quite connect but sometimes I think that anon was onto something.

It's more that gay dudes who control the fashion industry consider men more attractive, so they pick models who they consider attractive.

It's like how all the women in the Ashley Madison commercials look like the same person, even though they're different actors. Whoever was in charge of casting has a certain type of woman that they personally consider attractive, and they let that bias influence their picks.
>>
>>6184303

They aren't hard for 'anyone' to get right though. Ball joint doll companies have been getting it right for a while now and so have fashion doll makers pic related.

Action figure producers just fuck it up frequently, probably because they cheap out and just 3d scan actresses face or they use sculpters who aren't experienced with sculpting female faces.

I'm in the US.
I also travel around and my own city is a worldwide vacation destination, complete with famous theme parks in surrounding areas.

The only way i believe that you've never noticed girls with manly faces is that you only hang around teenagers and can't tell where the baby fat ends and the jawline begins.

Have famous for-fapping model with a strong manly chin. You can almost say that it's not manly, because angular jawlines are common no matter the sex.
>>
>>6185947
there is absolutely nothing manjaw about this face. It's very cutely short in height (and height is really the dimension that makes a manjaw, not as much the width)

>>6185977
It's got some squareness to it but really it's only about half the height of >>6185947 which is an unquestionably manly jaw.

Let's take this back to how this relates to toys. here's a figure that was recently called manjaw in one of those Mythic Legions threads. And rightfully so, her jaw is quite long in the dimension of height. You'll see a lot of western superheroine figures with similar tall jaws.
>>
>>6185997

>>

You're pretty retarded...

You think Ariel Rebel's jaw is even remotely similar to Morgan Webb's?

>>6185977
This is a low angle, which accentuates the jaw and makes it look flatter and squarer. Even then she looks substantially better than Webb, who would have a square jaw from even a high angle. You're literally trying to cheat by using a low angle and they still nothing alike!

>You think Ariel Rebel's jaw is even remotely similar to Morgan Webb's?
You're pretty retarded if you think I implied that.
I'm saying that they have square jaws, which are considered manly. The insinuation is that Ariel Rebel has a lot of baby fat, which camoflages the squareness of that jaw, but it's still there, as you've pointed out through the use of angles. The first image is when she's younger, the second is when she's older and it's starting to protrude.

There is no cheating, because it only shows what is naturally there.

The "feminine" jaws you don't think are manly basically only exists in children, teens, and is uncommon in adult females, at least in the west.
There's no agenda, it's not sculptors who suck at sculpting females, it's just portraying life as it is.

>>6185997
Look up Chris Sprouse. I knew a girl who looked exactly like his drawings and like that toy. Quite cute and that's the only Queen's Council figure i own. Not square, but the chin did protrude a bit much and it's found on many females.
>>
>>6184555
This anon is correct. Most sculpts aren't actuially that bad it's usually the paint apps that are shit. Look up Noel Cruz who makes some of the shittiest garbage toys and dolls look almost Hot Toys tier just by doing face ups. I dont think he's ever done a resculpt.
>>
>>6187290
Better more recent example.
>>
>>6187050
>There is no cheating, because it only shows what is naturally there.
That's fat chick logic. The fact is >>6185977 is looking up nearly 30 degrees, it's going to make anyone's jaw look squarer because it'll look flatter and make the jut pronounced. The fact that females have a more obtuse gonial angle is well documented and you're trying to give someone who has a slender jaw a square jaw using a bad photo.
>>
>>6187290
>>6187296
That's...actually pretty amazing.
>>
>>6184854
>And again, most attractive western females have manly features. Most females in general are that way, if somewhat less so or youthful looking.
>So either you're not used to being around grills because you watch too much weebshit or not from the west.
This, so fucking much. People are so used to anime faces and being attracted to the face proportions of children, that now they think any female that doesn't fit that mold is a man. It's fucking insane.
>>
>>6187573
It really is nuts how unfettered access to porn (especially anime porn) has warped so many young males in the developed world.

In the past, hormones forced a lot of young men to work through their shyness and actually talk to physical females with the hopes of getting laid. Now that the Internet exists, millions of dudes are just retreating into their fap-fantasies or going on shooting rampages because 3DPD supermodels aren't spontaneously generating to suck them off.

It's a great time to be alive and possessed with the ability to talk to girls without dropping the spaghetti. Competition is at an all-time low and the girls are EXTREMELY sexually frustrated because guys their age are sexually stunted.
>>
>>6187587
But most women in porn are manfaced
>>
>>6184489
You assume I had interest enough in this topic to google a bigger photo, I doubt most people had that level of interest based on this image.
>>
>>6187398
>someone doesn't have a square jaw camera cuz angles lie
I'm pretty sure a fat chick is still fat even if she's not showing her fat. Same as Ariel having her square jaw, whether it's angled or not.
Again, you can see the squareness here >>6185947 which is obscured by her babyfat because she's younger in that photo. The fact it looks square at a 30° angle is because she has a square jaw.

Here's Aubrey still having a dainty girly chin despite the camera pointing under her chin. It's more extreme than Ariel's, because you can actually see her neckfat, unlike the one you think is cheating.
>>
>>6187296
