With little to no hype for sentinel to announce more figures in the line during WonFest, do you think 4INCH-Nel is in danger of cancellation ? A few signs:

1. I've read many comments about ppl not wanting a figure in this scale, even if its their only chance of getting a character they won't get in another line.

2. I bought both Ryoma and Classic Megaman and liked both quite a bit, even if I prefer Ryoma by a small margin because it feels sturdier and has an interesting paintjob...

But then I've seen both figures on sale on Amiami & HLJ, so I'm pretty sure they weren't best sellers...Hayato from GR is being released as an exclusive (and too pricey because Benkei) so GR fans got fucked over with that, which doesn't create a good precedent.

3. X will be out of scale with Megaman and there's no prototype of Zero yet.

I hope I'm proven wrong and see more releases from them since Sentinel is consistently interested in smaller/older franchises and usually deliver good products.

how is megaman popular enough for toys but not videogames
>>

Inafune is a hack and Capcom isn't as big as they were in the 90s
>>

X is the only one that looks decent here.
>>
>>6183457
I think .EXE looks good. He's proportioned like his overworld sprites.
>>
>>6183240

Long story short. Inafune shit the bed and told off Japan and their game industry, took his ball and went to America. Capcom of Japan got all Japan honor furious and buried Rockman his this misgiving
>>
>>6183240
There are over 130 Mega Man video games though
>>
>>6183238
>>6183457
I think Volnutt looks okay. The headsculpt on the Classic is....whoo, that's rough. But eh, these are Shodo, how much can you really expect for 500yen or so.

>>6183222
I'm not a big fan of the scale either, but I bought Classic Megaman and Ryoma just like you, and I like them ok. Ok enough to keep buying this line provided they keep making interesting choices (like Ryoma) and not just regurgitate the same Megaman lineup we have gotten in the past before dying. Give me something interesting, goddamn it. Give me Sniper Joe. Give me Tron Bonne. Give me some goddamn Reploids. Finish the fucking Robot Masters. Come on, Sentinel.
>>
>>6184060
They aren't Shodo you bloke
Shodo are like 4in scale
These are 66 action meaning 66mm
>>
>>6184069
My bad, I meant to say 66Action. I've been staring at a monitor for the last 15 hours working and my brain is pretty fried. Rest assured I do know the difference, I own nearly the entire Shodo and 66Action lineups thus far.

>>
>>6184032
And we haven't had a good one since 2007.
>>
Sentinel is a pretty small player in the Japanese figure field; they don't exactly have the means to keep lines going just for the sake of keeping them going. They pretty much just make what they want and then make up a brand name to fit it - rio:bone, Good Smile Arms, 4inchNEL, all of these only existed for as long as they had figures planned that fit them. Riobot is the only one that's lasted for any significant length of time. My guess is that unless we see something at WF, then it's safe to assume that the 4inchNEL brand name is dead but that Sentinel will continue to make similar figures as they get licenses.

Eh, I'll pass. Really wish they'd cut this 4Inch shit out and just make 6 inch figures.
>>
Need...protoman...now
>>
>>6184701
I feel like Megaman specifically is much more suited to 4 inch scale but that's just me
>>
Will there be any good mega man toys at Wonfes?
I'm sad I missed out on Servbot kits 5ever ago.
>>
>>6184701
The 4Inch is more portable and a lot more fun in my opinion.

6 inch scale figures *are* cool... and they're more scale with my Kamen Riders and all that; however, for Mega Man it just "feels" better at this smaller scale. It just seems like, being a robot, that his size would be smaller than most people?

Bigger sizes, I mean, that's what the TrueForce Mega Man is for, right?
>>
>>6184776
Can't say I agree. I don't find small figures to be fun to pose, especially not crossing over with other figures.
Worst part about the 4 inch stuff are when characters like Ryoma who have no good figures get stuck in this 4 inch hell. Its annoying.
And I think Trueforce X looks like garbage, which is sad because the concept art for it looked really good.
>>
>>6184776
For me it's the simplicity of all of Megaman's designs which makes me prefer him in a smaller scale. If he were much bigger it'd be like having a 6 inch lego minifig; there just isn't enough detail to warrant it.

That said, the detail on these figures, particulary Ryoma is staggering at this scale and for me really makes the line worth keeping.
>>
>>6184784

then if you want an x, get the d-arts?

I'm not sure what's the issue.
>>
>>6184814
Well not just X, I have the D-Arts of him and zero. I'd like a figure of most of the megaman characters, especially the main and rival characters. I just don't want them in the 4-inch scale.
Same thing with Ryoma. He's my favorite anime character, but I don't want a figure of him that's going to look like a super manlet next to my other figures.
>>
>>6184819

Ah, I see.

I'm more than happy with the 4 inch line. I own every single release and I really feel like they're quality. Cutman was fantastic.

But it's very subjective.

I also own ryoma but he's not that bad since he's posed with the sentinel getters.
>>
>>6184784
I half-agree. I mean, I do like the 4INCH line because it's made by Sentinel and they don't feel cheap (IMO); but any other figure I've seen of this size looks noticeably worse.

And regarding Ryoma being lonely as hell because he doesn't fit with 1:12...that's exactly my point. I want this line to continue because I want more characters that look good next to him. I would die for gundam pilots, but since that's impossible Koji Kabuto would be amazing and not out of the realm of reality. What about manga Devilman?

Seems right to me.
>>
>>6184893
that's a visual trick, they are supposedly the same size, and I think X should be taller by looking at his limbs. It's only my opinion though
>>
>>6184893
X is a hair taller, but they're all roughly 4 inch figures.

Classic Mega Man is supposed to be 4'4", and X is 5'3". (5'"5 according to Command Mission.) X should be a full foot taller than Classic.
>>
>>6184908

I own all of them and .exe is clearly taller than classic.

I hope we'll see SOMETHING sooner or later. They've had a lot of EXE anniversary merchandise this year, even towels (attached image). The sheer number of Rockman kits at this year's WF is proof that people want more, and much more beyond the standard list of characters we get from official companies.
>>
>>6183222
I swear, if this line dies before doing Rock Volnutt I will lose all hope. 3 getting cancelled then potentially this, it's too much.

66Action is not enough.

Andddd X delayed to March.

EXE is may a quarter inch taller than Classic, depending on the posture of both figures.

They're still 4 inch figures (it's in the name of the line) and non-scale.

But... but GV is cool as hell, and he's not exactly waifu-bait.

Definitely not as jarring as the New Gen Goemon, that's for sure.

But every time I see Ryo's GV kit, I am so VERY, very tempted to decimate whatever self-restraint I have left and get it. It's so damn cool.

>>
>>
>>6196647
The real issue here isn't his proportional height, it's his girth. They made him too skinny, which gives him that stretched out appearance. Look at how much fuller the chest is in the drawing, or how much wider the hips are. The shoulder "balls" seem much more filled out in the drawing as well, which helps bulk out his upper body. Even the areas with more minimal differences in thickness (like the shins and thighs) contribute to this skinny appearance.
>>
>>6196647
left is obviously too skinny. are you blind?

I wish they'd release some alternate forms from SF3, or even some other characters from it.

Rogue or his Black Ace form would be great.

I'd even take a Rogue noise recolor.

I want to get into this line, but the whole holding back accessories just so they can sell them later as exclusives set, just rubs me the wrong way. I don't mind it when accessory packs come with weapons and gimmicky shit that I probably wouldn't use anyway, but that set of hands and faces should have really been included with the regular release.

It's just a shame that this Volnutt is probably the only decent one we'll ever get, and it doesn't really look that good.

At least we got spare faces. The classic faces have mostly been the same...

Otherwise each character comes with mostly the same stuff: spare hands, a spare face, and their weapon. EXE gets both the buster AND the iconic sword.

In any case, they're actually quite posable, and don't suffer from the same joint problems the X D-Arts have which is insanely nice. They're much more impressive in person.

Yeah that's def it. The Ishikawa art from DASH 2 onward draws the eyes much less smaller. They're huge in DASH 1.

Other promo art like TvC and NxC are a nice mix between the two.

so, I'm interested to get Megaman X, what's a good price for it? Also some anons in this thread mentioned there's qc problems with X?? is that a widespread issue? My ex roommate bought Blodia Riobot and as gorgeous as the sculpt was, the paint and a few quick-to-loosen joints really scared me off Sentinel releases... but that X and classic Megaman looks really tempting, so am asking for opinions here, since I don't mind the size.

just gonna get the 66 action, i like small scale figures anyways plus it's cheaper
>>
I'm gonna get all the figures so its not biggy.
>>
>>6198398

I don't know how you could prefer a figure the size of a pinky finger to the 4 inch nel.
>>
>>6198506
The characters have incredibly simple designs, and are usually pictured very small on the screen composed of a very modest amount of pixels.
>>
I'm quite disappointed at the WonFest reveal for this line. Not only did we not get any other franchise added, but they also did not reveal any interesting release in the megaman line...I'm sure Legends Megaman has their fans, but I'm willing to bet a lot of 4INCHNEL owners would have preferred either a Zero or a boss character.
>>
>>6198880
There's quite a few of us going bonkers because we get a decent Geo. The only other Geo we got was by Takara Tomy.

Not a bad toy by any means, but he's severely lacking in the figure department like Volnutt. He even got left out of the 66-Action line.

And for people into scale, this set is all closer in size, unlike the huge height differences between the D-Arts, Rockin' Action, Yujin-SR, and so on.

However, I will admit I do want some more robot masters. Cut was probably the easiest since he's essentially the same design as Rock both canonically and mold-wise.

But hook me up with X variants of the Second, Force, Ultimate, and X8 Armors, I will lose my shit. I'd also insta-buy an Axl since he doesn't get much figure love either.

I mean the RPG Mega Man games were often targeted towards grade schoolers(not to pretend Mega Man was ever intended for much older audiences or anything.) , That being said Star Force's cast of characters had a surprising amount of depth, arguably the most in any Mega Man series, the storyline in the first game is easily my favorite in the entire franchise, It's got a decent level of realism, while being extremely absurd in an amusing way at the exact same time, there's lots of character development, and a great balance of light and dark tones, felt less like a kids game and more like something anyone could enjoy.

As for Mega Man's design it really grew on me over the years, but he does get a new design in the third game that looks less silly to most people, if this does well I wouldn't mind a figure of it.

I wouldn't mind ZX figures either but Capcom stopped acknowledging the existence of that series entirely post 2008 so I wouldn't count on it.
>>
>>6200133

> le spikey anime meem hair and a literal hand-puppet

Plenty of better designs out there from games that are faithful to,core megaman gameplay.
>>
>>6200144
Mega Man is an action series with a futuristic theme based on advancements in technology that emphasizes twitch based action that rewards quick reflexes and precise play, features non-linear combat and problem solving through various special weapons gained from defeated foes, you progress through themed areas filled with obstacles to battle with bosses, and you can use the powers gained from one opponent to help defeat the next, you play as an elementally blank blue dude with an arm canon that battles against a set of elemental counterparts, and after they are defeated you progress to the final set of stages which make you put everything you've learned to the test.

That's the core Mega Man gameplay and Star Force contains all of that, Not being a platformer doesn't change that, it's a spin off.

I prefer Star Force's designs to ZX's those are cool but they're mostly just kids wearing cosplay of previous characters from the lore, not exactly the most original stuff out there.

Star Force buster never came off as puppet like for me, it's too expressive and actually makes for a convincing weapon when in use.
>>
>>6200137
The plot of Starforce 2's main game never stays in my head. That said, it's not as scarringly bad as EXE 4 or 5.

The 3rd game's beach scene is one of the best scenes in the series. Especially if Bud's the one you're talking with that night. The entire game's story almost makes up for the second's.
>>
>>6200243
On a non-Starforce note, I really liked the Legends/EXE/Starforce staff because the games were full of little touches that made the experience all the more interesting.

And writing-wise, the characters are sometimes cartoony, but not so much that they're unrelatable. They REALLY hit their stride with some of the plot points brought up in Legends 2, EXE 2 and 3, and Starforce 1 and 3. (EXE 4 and 5 can suck it though. Writing staff clearly got lazy there.)

And of course, then you get hilarious moments to balance things out like Denise, the Bonnes, the worst camping trip ever, and Houdini of the Beach.

Speaking of which, if they ever do a civvy Geo Stelar figure, I sincerely hope he comes with his tree costume from the play in 1.
>>
Does anyone know how tall the X will be?
>>
>>6200417
Guess.

It's pretty obvious.
>>
>>6200243
That's because MMSF2 has the worst writing in the series and kind of feels out of place at times, it's not horrible but it's just off and lacks a lot of the depth that the first and third games have.

Yeah the beach scene is great, you get great individual character moments for all 3 of them regardless of who's item you saved.

MMSF3 in general makes up for all of MMSF2's shortcomings 100%

i just got my regular 4inchnel mega man. it definitely poses better but it feels so loose and looks so piecey. i cant decide if its better than the d-arts or not at this very second
>>
>>6205186
Yeah, unfortunately QC wasn't the best on the Classic Mega Man, Mine is fine except for the head being on a bit loose, and the left arm comes off a little easier than I'd like, The next figures in the line really do shape up though, I bought the Jet and Power Mega Man set as well as Super Mega Man and Cut Man, all of those use the same mold from the Classic Mega but they are much tighter and lack the issues I mentioned above, My Mega Man EXE is fine too so I'm sure Volnutt and Star Force Mega Man won't carry the QC issues either.
>>
>>6205739
>the head being on a bit loose
Did you try pushing in on his "ears?" They are sorta what holds the head together. A lot of people had this "looseness issue" and were able to fix it just like that.
>>
>>6205739
My Classic is fine but EXE had problems...
>>
>>6205739
>>6205875
I can vouch for .EXE so far one leg is super loose after only bending it a couple of times when re-adjusting poses. After reading other anon's issues I'm convinced QC or something about the design on some Megamen aren't up to par.
>>
All I want are Roll and ZX.
Those are the only things that could make me get into this line

X and Classic have been done by better lines and I dont really like EXE and Starforce.
Volnutt is cool but not $30 for a 4 inch figure cool.
>>
>>6205918
these issues don't come across as hard to believe, I haven't had problems with my EXE but considering he released at the same time classic Mega did I'm gonna assume he was honestly just as prone to QC issues.

I have the Hub style EXE but I haven't opened him so I'm not sure how that feels.

I'm not 100% sure but I'm gonna assume that some parts of EXE are being reused on Star Force Mega Man which would make sense because their body structures are very much alike.
Hopefully they've had time to work out any kinks and they don't have him share some any issues people have had with EXE.
>>
>>6201436
that'd be awesome. but i doubt we'll get them together.

They've been blue balls'd so many times, though, with finishing their damn story.

I've seen those same kinds of raids pop up with other snubbed fandoms. The Power Rangers people try to tell their fellow fans how to vote because it's "best" for the fandom. I saw a lot of people arguing for how to vote on the Revoltech poll because they thought there was a "best" set of figures to vote for.

Capcom these days is also a shit company that's out of touch, keeps pushing some random character as "transgender... maybe... we're not sure now" to overhype that character artificially, refuses a SF/MK crossover because "we don't want our gary stu Ryu getting his head torn off" and only has morons like Jin as fans anymore because anyone with sense abandoned them.

>When you do decide to throw people a bone and make someone like Cutman and Lan, bundle one of them with a Megaman so you can make them to pay over a $100 for it and make the other one a fucking statue. Also limited release because fuck you.

>Enforce a 4 inch height limit meaning figures like X who are supposed to be taller look like manlets because their proportions are off when standing next to the other characters.

Yeah no this line has been disappointment after disappointment I was hoping they'd learn from Bandai's mistakes but instead they just decided to dive into a whole new slew of issues. I could care less what happens to this line now.

You can't rightfully announce a line of Mega Man figures that doesn't feature Mega Man. I can guarantee Roll alone won't sell like Mega Man, and not releasing a Mega Man only hurts her sales.

It would have been nice if I could have bought Lan or Cutman normally, though. I'm not dealing with Japanese webshop exclusives. As it is, a $40 4 inch figure that has an accessory count of two extra hands is too damn expensive.
