>Adult Building Night
>For the first time, we are offering a unique build night for grown-up LEGO® fans! Come to the LEGO store to meet other LEGO-loving adults and build a Valentine's themed mini model to take home. Registration is required, please see a Brick Specialist for details. This activity is intended for ages 18+.

Cheapest you can go is with the CMF series -- there's a bunch of obscure villains in there mixed in with alt costumes for main characters.

Otherwise, there's the Joker Battle Training polybag, and then all the other villains are in the main set lineup.

>>
>>6167457
>explain
one of these http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4085 on top of the hollow stud that is on the staff. put the feather in the clip.

I think in general, lego system is deisgned so every legal connection would keep the distance between the feather and the staff at the current distance.

If you want to cheat, you could use a rubber band.

That's an unreleased set? Where is that from?
>>
>>6168141

Lego Indiana Jones, they designed a movie-accurate version of the Mark VIII tank for the second video game, but presumably never released it in real life because of the modern weapons taboo, even though the tank in question is now close to a century old and technically not a weapon unto itself. The funny thing is the Sopwith Camel, Fokker Dr 1, and Albatros D.III all got sets released and are also of WWI vintage.

Being a tanker in the world of LEGO is suffering. I mean, BrickArms is okay, but they don't really cover WWI while LEGO itself can't decide if it does or doesn't.

You probably have it the wrong way around. The set designers never made tanks for the Indiana Jones theme because of their modern weapons taboo, and the devs at Tt Games designed the tank so they could have it in the game.

They sent the artist the pieces for free because he wasn't 100% up-front with what he planned on doing with the project, and put out a statement later saying they didn't have an opinion on it either way and didn't endorse it.

That piece is the reason why Lego doesn't give out free pieces to artists anymore.

Speaking of movies:

>For those who rank Darth Vader pretty high as Worst Dad Ever, meet Lord Garmadon. Voiced by Justin Theroux, the black-helmeted, four-armed supervillain aims to rule over Ninjago City, and a team of teenage ninjas — led by his estranged son, Lloyd Garmadon (Dave Franco) — aim to stop the operatic sociopath in The Lego Ninjago Movie (in theaters Sept. 22). “It’s about a son having to live with this father who’s a threat to Lego-manity (but) more about the son’s journey of forgiving him and learning to accept him for who he is," Theroux says.

>Lloyd is a seemingly unremarkable kid in his daily life, but when he becomes the masked Green Ninja of the Ninjago superteam, “he has much more confidence ... and wants to do everything he can to protect his home,” Franco says.

>Also in his squad: the hotheaded Kai (Michael Peña), robot Zane (Zach Woods), über-rad Cole (Fred Armisen), insecure Jay (Kumail Nanjiani) and strong-willed Nya (Abbi Jacobson). “They may be really cool as ninjas and the Ninjago world adores them, but at school they’re the geeks and nerds who are ignored."

>Master Wu (Jackie Chan) is the the group's teacher — as well as Lord Garmadon’s brother — and Franco says he and Lloyd have a Mr. Miyagi/Daniel relationship, à la The Karate Kid. “It sometimes takes Lloyd a little while to grasp the lessons that Master Wu is trying to instill within him.” (Chan's stunt team actually filmed the martial-arts sequences that the filmmakers animate over for the movie's fights.)
>>
>>6168217
>Hanging over Lloyd is the shadow of his father, who left him and his mother, Koko (Olivia Munn), when Lloyd was a baby. An operatic sociopath, Lord Garmadon doesn’t exactly make the road to redemption easy. “I think he’s suffered a series of slights and cuts over the course of his life when people question his narcissism, so it’s made him more and more evil as a result,” Theroux says.

>For Theroux, the magic of the Lego movies like Ninjago is the blend of the distinctive look, playful energy and goofy humor that hits on multiple levels: Kids will dig Lord Garmadon riding a large mechanical shark with legs, while adults get the comedy of the supervillain frequently pestering Lloyd to find out if his ex-wife is seeing anybody.

Sadly i don't have LEGO stores in my country. I'd totally go though, fully expecting a full sausage-fest sperg jamboree. But what the hell, I'd might meet some legofans, be a part of and experience first hand a hilariously lego-related failure and a marginal increase in chance of ever getting laid.
Would be fun.

>>6168085
He's cute!

>>6168093
I'd redesign the hips so they're more on the side of the "pelvis" so it can do some more wide and dynamic poses. Maybe make it a little shorter too. I kinda like how it looks like the tip of an old space rocket where the astronaut sat in.

>>6168194
i've got a bag full of the standard city wheels from my childhood. Mostly white and yellow and i will never use. (i only use the black rims and some more rare colours like med blue) Just like you i've got quite a bit of steeringwheels.
I wouldn't call them thrash, but i have a TON of regular bricks from the 60s that are yellow, often warped and with pretty much 0 clutch. But i keep them around because they were from my mothers grandparents so the family could play together.

>>6168497
I dig the left one a lot, might wanna check out for a skelly style headprint slightly more simple to match the torso, but it's nitpicking.

>I bought several for $5 each today

Where?
>>
>>6169235
Discontinued Lego sets do sell for a shit load of money, but the set has to be worth a damn to begin with. Unless it's a Licenced set, Modular or a set with an exclusive minigiugure, the value of the set won't increase by much after the sets shelf life ends.
>>
>>6169221
>Guess the lego bubble finally popped, huh?
No, it's specifically just the Dimensions packs. They moved from regular stores to clearance, and now dollar stores are getting all the unsold "outdated" ones. Lego is still chugging along at above-gold returns, but only the really expensive and exclusive sets. It's just a meme that all Legos are worth more than gold. Usually a sealed set from a popular line (Star Wars, etc.) that was originally priced above $150 commands about (MSRP x 10 x [number of decades since set was made]) dollars after the first decade.

A random $30 set from Kmart will probably go for $90 sealed twenty years later.
>>
>>6169241

Five Below stores have them.
>>
>>6169245
Actually that formula should probably be more like

MSRP x 5 x [number of decades since retirement]
>>
>>6169211
Sets that gain in value usually fit into one or more of these categories:
- Big sets (biggest set in line, modular buildings)
- Rare or uncommon sets (Comic con exclusive, 3346).
- Set with nostagic value (classic space)
- Minifigs craved by rich collectors (Deadpool from 6686, bought at 20$ at flea market, sold of 100$ on ebay)
- Tied to franchise that became popular to collectors later on (found Batman 7780 on clearance 3 years after release, by then game was out and sold it for 150$).

That set is the antithesis of that:
- Small
- Overproduced
- Novelty
- Collectors can buy it now for 3$ too.
- From a franchise with an audience still without disposable income.

It is great for parts, army building or your collection, but I have I doubt about resale value.

I have a question - is this anubis head from original Pyramid set?

The thing is - i just found that there was a "magnet pack - Anubis". And legs often were glued to his torso. So people would destroy legs to separate those parts.
And lots that dont have legs is a first sign that the Anubis is from the Magnet pack.

BUT - this lot has anubis head packed in a bag like if its from original Pyramid set.
OR...could seller just use some kind of machine and wrapped this head in a small bag? Is it possible?

I dont mind getting torso from magnet set and sword from minifigure series. But im very autistic about head-piece - i would feel better if its an original Pyramid Set-one.

has anyone picked up Dragon's Forge and can attest to its quality or shitness?
im a sucker for ninjago dragons, dont really care about the show/movie, but i like those lizard fuckers

but lately at least, it seems their box art makes the dragon look shit in comparison to the actual build quality (specifically morro dragon not showing how empty/wavy he is, and the NRG dragon not showing its wings fold at all)

the dragon looks alright, and i honestly view the extras/villians as useless, or bonus depending on how good/bad they are.
the only review iv really seen seemed either VERY biased to it being amazing, or said the dragon was alright, but the forge was great

i seem to agree with the latter, but i want to know what any anons who own it think, at least before i drop 80 dollars on valentines so i get a bunch of free shit

Sellers don't reseal parts in that type of plastic bag; it's ziplocs or bust. There's no reason for them to bother with a machine designed to wrap specific minifigure accessories.

You can sleep easy tonight -- that there is a genuine set version of the Pharaoh's Quest Anubis.

>I was under the impression that factory sealed lego sets generally do
You are about on par as those people that think owning a #1 comic from 1990s means its worth money now. There is more to the market than just age and sealed. Pic related was excursive to Shell gas stores and production was on the lower end.
They were costing about $3 a piece at the time at discontinuation in 1998. They only sell for about $10 sealed now 19 years alter and considering inflation isn't factor in that time it means the profit flip is something like 2 dollars.
The sets that go for tons are usually low production, expensive to start with, hard to get and with hard to find bricks/brick colors(that are desired).

Light grey counter tops, red and white pillars, a tan quarter-round for the roof (though I like your idea of going over the whole seating area. Wish I had thought of that.) I've got some dark red jumpers to replace those ones, and I got some white pieces for the awning. I also got some dark green ones, because I kind of like the look of dark green and white together.

Really it's just personal preference. People that like city building and modulars obviously won't care for goddamn snake helicopters, but there's a place for it, especially now that lego is realizing the adult adudience is worth catering to and giving the creator line some seriously great sets
Time will tell which things people like, but as a whole I think lego is in a good place. Not the best place, but it's been way worse.

Serious question, I'm not being sarcastic.
I mean, with some pretty good builds (at least I think they are) in all of their lineup (even the ones that i don't like) and with a newborn line of movies that looks pretty profitable (and, most important, actually good) I really can't imagine a better place where LEGO could be right now.

Probably axing either ninjago or nexo, there really only needs to be one "historical futuristic setting with radical teens" and it's free up resources for a theme that's not explicitly good guys beating up bad guys. Something... adventurous..
also merging friends into city and making it a bit less girly, more gender neutral and then separating police and firepeople into a separate theme

I'm in favor of something adventurous and yeah, two series with such a similar subtheme is a bit tiring but i wouldn't axe them. I think Nexo has cooler/more useful for parts villains and cool vehicles while ninjago has a generally cooler aesthetic.

I don't really understand the friends complain thought. Not a fan of the friendsfigs but, while I have yet to buy one, I think the sets are pretty cool, and there's nothing inherently bad with a series more targeted at girls, as long as it's compatible with any other LEGO.

most everything sells on a downhill curve, most sales when it just comes out (or a expected holiday) and barely when its been out for a long time
shelf space in a store is a premium, and they obviously want things that sell featured in the best places
if something is old/doesnt sell (stores keep track with inventory) its better to put something new in its spot, and sell the old item at a markdown to attempt to make back at least face value they purchased it for.
most stores do levels of % clearance before doing massive "we need to fucking get rid of this" clearance.
the 1/5 dollar dimension sets are a good example. stores did quite big sales right before the newest wave started to come out (november/december last year) to get rid of stuff, and even then the first dimensions wave was STILL on shelves alongside wave 2. even after christmas there was shit, so instead of large sales, its massive clearance/dollar stores
