I've had superman on the brain lately. Im working on a superman shelf. not just supes but supporting characters, and villains. Im looking for inspiration, suggestions, whatever ya got.

Being a 3.75 collector sucks these days.
>>
I got it from google image search. just meant to embody the spirit.
>>
>>6141538
Yeah, I know. I mean, we got the DC Multiverse line with a decent Reeve Supes, sucks that the line was cancelled.

The Man of Steel basic line would've been alright if the figures had knees and such and other characters besides all the weird Superman variants. Anywayyyyyyy, on a positive note: the DCC Lee Bermejo Supes is pretty good. So is the Greg Capullo one if you're not against the N52 suit.

I agree these 3.75 The Man of Steel are awful. I picked up ZOD and the standard superman at the $ store and ended up giving them to my buddy's kid. I picked up DOOMZARRO last week and was amazing disappointed. the joints are still there's next to no articulation, the feet don't even stand flat. very disappointing

This and the entirety of that wave are going for 5 dollars around me at this point, like the stores overstocked the hell out of them for some reason. I got the Supergirl from it a while ago though, and she's actually pretty cool, not high end or anything, but neat enough. Is it worth picking the rest up to build Doomsday?
>>6145973
That Supes looks rad, not a bad Brainiac either

I just want a Supermen of the Multiverse collection.
But I'd have to learn how to fix shit myself because it's unlikely we'll ever get a Sunshine Superman, and god knows we'll never get Nazi Superman.

All I want is a smiling classic Superman with good modern articulation, but I guess that's too hard for DCC to pull off when they made whatever the fuck this thing is.
What mystifies me the most is that they have done figures with good articulation before for their Crime Syndicate line, but they refuse to do the same for some reason.

At this point I'm only waiting to git gud at kitbashing so I can put a classic Superman head on that one Ultraman.
>>

The DC Icons Superman is a piece of fucking garbage. It single-handedly turned me off the whole Icons line. Seeing that thing still pisses me off.

The DC Films Superman is the best 1/12 Superman figure I've come across so far, though I have high hopes for the Mezco One:12.

>The DC Icons Superman is a piece of fucking garbage. It single-handedly turned me off the whole Icons line.
That Supes is without doubt the worst figure from that line. Amazing that they managed to ruin the most iconic character for a line called Icons. However, don't dismiss it entirely. The Harley is probably the best action figure of the character. I also have the Flash and GA and love both of them (neither is perfect, but they are still pretty good).

I just hope they release a good Supes sometime down the line. The prototype they originally showed for the JL 7-pack looked pretty good.

Holy fucking shit, where to start?

The biggest issues with mine are flimsy joints everywhere and an arm that pulls off far too easily. Then there's the fact that they wired the bottom of the cape and only the bottom instead of the sides like Batfleck.
>>
>>6148245
Is it possible to tighten those joints with glue. and re-wire the cape like Batflecks?

Lil' tip for ya. Unless every Marvel character is a basketball player, Marvel Legends ain't 1/12 scale either.

The only true 1/12 scale figures I know of are Toy Biz era Marvel Legends (they've been steadily getting bigger over the last decade), Japanese imports, and DC Icons. At this point calling a figure 1/12 scale is shorthand for any figure 5 ½ - 7 inches tall.

Pic related, a 7 inch tall figure.

Pretty sad that only Toy Biz tried to keep things in scale with the ML line.
Hasbro did not give a shit and even worse, so many people accept their stuff as 1:12 scale and get disappointed that other lines don't match up with Hasbro's sliding scale.

Nice strawman. Never claimed any of that was true 1/12. Yes, Marvel Legends stick to around 6-6.5 inches and Storm Collectibles is outright lying, but regardless, the DC Premium film lines don't fit in with 1/12 or Legends, they're 6.8 inches tall.

So I've decided to try my hand at creating a comprehensive Superman figure collection, with all the major supporting characters and villains included. The way I see it, there's really no way to do this without collecting from multiple toy lines, but I'm going to try to keep everything relatively uniform in terms of scale. My goal is to have the best version of each character, so that's where you guys come in. If you think there's a better version available somewhere, please tell me. The list I've put together is a result of my own research, but I could very easily have missed something.

So obviously Superman is the start of it. From what I can tell in the 7" scale (which is what I"m going with since the best Superman figures seem to come from either DC Direct or Mattel), the best Superman figures are either DC Direct's 2003 Superman, or Mattel's DCUC Superman. The DCUC Superman has (marginally) better articulation, but I think the Direct has a much better-looking sculpt, so I think it wins out.

Lois has shockingly few figures. As far as I can tell, the only ones that exist are the Super Lois from DC Direct's All-Star Superman line, and the two Lois figures from DC Direct's Silver Age Superman.

The Silver Age Super Lois seems like the obvious choice to me, as she has much better articulation than the other two figures. It sucks that she's not dressed in civilian clothes, but oh well.

How does the films line compare with the Mezco? I was excited for Mezco till the QC nightmare was learned so I'm hoping the films line are good.

Or just wait for Nendoroid Supes?

Was this a toy line that was actually going to happen?!
>>
>>6186899
It did happen, the figures are on eBay.
>>
>>6186885
There was a guy on /toy/ who had his Batman's sleeve slip out of a peg, which he then put back into the hole.
Apparently, because of that one anon, it happened to everyone.

Oh, and there' a Captain America variant that was shown have rounded scales, instead of the diamond scales found on another version, which means they're falling off on everyone's Caps.

There's a guy on Ebay selling the Neca two-pack Superman separately, so I decided to grab one and it arrived yesterday.

This is a damn nice figure. If you own the Christopher Reeve Neca figure you know exactly what to expect in terms of articulation since it's the same exact body. I personally love the comic book-style deco and the face in particular is fantastic. The DC Films Superman beats it in articulation, but overall this is the best 1/12 scale Superman available right now IMO.

It looks good but I'd like more dinamoc posing on it. D.C. Collectible films is the best superman in my opinion, to bad the movie it's from is fucking awful.

>If you own the Christopher Reeve Neca figure you know exactly what to expect in terms of articulation since it's the same exact body
This is exactly why I hate it. Looks ridiculous with all the painted musculature on that skinny/realistic body. Makes the head look gigantic.

Typical, lazy repaint from NECA. Wish they'd waited till the new one comes out to try this kinda thing out.
