The gloss actually looks pretty good. A lot reviewers use really bright lights which makes the gloss glaringly noticeable, but on my shelf with the kind of lighting I have its not overwhelming. Overall I think its a pretty good figure seeing that I didn't grab the first release. If you already have the original the only reason you'd probably want to get this is for the effect parts.

Nah, this looks close enough to him for the $20 I'm willing to spend. Honestly, it looks like Shin blended a little bit with classic Goji proportions, and I'm a-ok with that. Neither are perfect, and both feel an equal level of innacurate, so I'll go with the cheaper one.

It look extreme in the height comparison, but the overlay doesn't look all that different. You also know these are photographed at different angles, right? That plus the different angle of the head could lead to different parts being visible (the underside of the jaw for example), giving a thicker silhouette.

Anyway, if it actually is changed, it changed for the better--the old one had a fat head. It still sucks overall though, it's just not a good sculpt.

Looks nice. Proportions are off in places and the way the head and neck connect look a bit awkward, but I'm overall sold on him. NECA makes a nice sturdy Godzilla that's good for fiddling and not having to worry at all about it breaking. Also can't beat the price.

While the body just looks shittily posed (NECA should fire whoever took the photos), the mouth/neck sculpt and configuration looks so ridiculously off-model that it's throwing off the entire look. And don't even give me that $20 BS excuse, NECA always loves touting their sculpts in the movie accuracy department, so they should know better.

I don't see why anyone cares, the monsterarts looks like it was sculpted out of polished shit and the neca looks off in basically every way.

Ignore these poorfag NECA cocksuckers. The original looked 'off' because everyone and their wife's son had been photographing it with harsh light. You can even see in the original's promo pics (along with this spitfire version one's) that they use a diffused, soft light to really bring out the detail. And in hand it looks perfectly alright. This one will be the same.

As long as you're actually a well-adjusted human being who can manage their expenses while getting into this absurdly expensive hobby, you'll like it. And as always keep in mind that all high end toys have that kind of warning where promo pictures may not be representative of the final product.

TL;DR: it'll be most likely better than what the autists on youtube and this thread will scream about. Not perfect, but good enough especially with its size. Even more so when you're an actual fan of ShinG.

It looks pretty decent from the display, and the paint doesn't look too glossy, although I'll reserve judgment until the figure actually comes out. Here's hoping the final product actually looks close to the display.

I've had a pic of ShinG as the background of my phone since October and that dude is shiny as fuck so idk why everyone's throwing a fit about gloss. If anything the NECA as shown so far isn't glossy enough, which I thought would be a guaranteed aspect they'd nail.

Saw 18" Kong today in both my local Walmarts. 25 burgers for him seems kinda nice. Kids are going to snap those damn peanut elbows every time it's bought. Poor engineering oversight, really. Well, I'm sure many people feels boring to watch a lot of Japs speaking to the screen and I admit that yeah, some scenes are a bit long, but for my most of them are very necessary. And the characters wasn't bad.

I was afraid that Anno do some existencial shit like in Rebuild but I feel more the Anno military otaku here (and military things are good for Godzilla's movies).

The cgi was good, the chopper looks bad, but most things like Shin and previous forms was pretty good (many peoply cry because Shin don't move very much but he is Godzilla not Spider-Man).

I like a lot the story, is not the most original thing but is fresh for a Godzilla movie, at the same time is like watch something familiar (I can't explain that feel).

Shin itself was gorgeous when he appears in his final form in the Tokyo harbor that was a wonderful moment, I loved the complete scene of the bomber attack even the rave back lassers, the level of destruction was simply great.

The final was meh, but I like the way of Japan resolving the Japan problems and I was glad and grateful to don't see USA dropping a nuclear bomb to save Japan, that would have been the most stupid way to finish the movie.

Is the best Godzilla movie? No, but is a pretty good one.
