I've said it before and will say again, can Hot Toys start to just release accessories? For instance: making guns from games like Halo, Call of Duty and you can purchase these guns themselves without any figure?

I would gladly love to begin a weapon accessory collection that would fit any 1/6 figure.

Call of Duty has some nice golden guns that I'd love Hot Toys to make.

How could I go with trying to make them release content like this?

Debating what HT figure to pursue next; DX13 T-800, or DX9 Batman 1989. Terrminator is more articulated and has more features, which is more enjoyable, but I keep thinking how cool Keaton Bats would look with my Reeve Superman..and maybe a Batmobile.

Also considering an ED-209 to go with Robocop.

As for my wishlist, it is, and will always be, Mel Gibson as Mad Max circa The road warrior, with the dog, and the last of the V-8 interceptors. Following that, Arnie as Conan. There's a lot of older movies I'dlove to see HT/1:6 scale figures of.

Does anyone know of any good 1/6 scale blogs that usually have high res pics?

I only really know of and follow toyhaven, but I want to see more.

I can't afford any 1/6 figures for a few years now so for me a set of high res, clear and large digital images is almost as good as having the figure itself, but then when I browse most manufacturer sites or other toy sites the pictures are tiny, compressed, sometimes not even more than 1 or 2 as if thats enough for anyone to decide on a figure even.

At least the Sideshow site lately has been putting out stunning high-res and crisp looking professional pictures of theirs and Hot Toys figures.

Not like actual buttons on a human shirt but like either velcro(if it's a cheapo shirt) or some sort of snap connectors. Those can be fragile though, the pegs are really small and thin so make sure they're lined up correctly before snapping them together. Just remember the clothe is relatively thin because of the scale so be gentle.

Sideshow's one big weakness is likenesses. The clothing and accessories are usually pretty great but they charge Hot Toys prices while still falling short at the one thing Hot Toys really excels at. They're pretty good with masked or helmeted characters and they've come a long ways since their Amidala and Frank Black days but something still seems to go off between the prototype and production stage.

Incorrect. They have some of the best sculptors working for them. If you see the original sculpts for their figures they're all spot-on.

What they fail at is production. They tend to use factories that cake on the paint or balloon the head or half-ass the clothes. Since they're US-based they're not on the scene with the factories like Hot Toys is, and they pay a price with the finished product.

Hey guys, a bit off topic but something happened to my thread. Not sure if it was deleted or what. Anyways, this thread is probably more relevant for it. For the last several months I've been searching for info on a Hot Toys figure meant to be the hockey player in the pic. It was supposedly released around 2000 as part of the Famous Type line, but I haven't been able to find out ANYTHING about it at all. I've received confirmation from Hot Toys that they produced it but that's it. Does anyone know anything about it at all? The official name of the figure? I'd love to purchase one

Shipping for one figure from Sideshow is $10 unless it's oversized or something.

BBTS has variable shipping rates but it'll be about the same amount for the same level of service.

The difference between the two is the perks.

BBTS might have it for a lower MSRP.

Sideshow gives you points for purchases that you can use on other purchases.

BBTS has a pile o' loot feature where you can stack your purchases over time and ship a bunch of things at once and save a lot of money on shipping.

Sideshow has a flex payment plan option where you can choose to pay in sometimes up to five different smaller increments once a month until the figure comes out.

I usually go with Sideshow because of the points and payment plan option(I can afford to buy one figure a month, but why do that when I can make payments on four each month).

monkey depot, store biz, and ekia sell individual heads from figures and head sculpts that were released on their own. I think every time they get some figures in they disassemble a portion of them sell the individual parts.

Ebay is also a good source of both custom made heads and heads from bootleg companies.

I personally mostly use monkey depot but ive used the others aswell and they seem reliable.

I get that, rather I mean that the homemade suit seems important enough that it looks to be the proper "1st movie entry" suit instead of just the Civil War suit. I have no doubt we'll see the Civil War suit and possibly a new one later or at the end of the film, but for the time being I think it's neat that Peter drops the CW suit and essentially forced to stick with his own stuff.

Well, in particular stores perhaps but they usually don't. If you miss out you either have to go after-market or wait for a possible new version

Only rarely, trying to think of a time when that happened, possibly Amber from Sucker Punch? Usually they just sell out. They don't make too much extra. The good figures always sell out.

Depends where you buy them from. If you're buying a brand new one that's a preorder or something it'll usually come in its shipping container, ie a thick tight brown box that slides over the decorated box.

It's possibly for that to get crushed but even if that happened the actual decorated box is usually pretty sturdy and there's a lot of space inside to help protect the figure. Everything is packed tightly.

I know how you feel. Born in 87 and loved the Keaton batmobile and ED 209 figures. Never was able to get either of them as a kid. This purchase was expensive but so worth it. Brings a smile to my face when I see it on the shelf. Heard all the stories of the top deteriorating but applied some rubber/plastic protectant made for Wrangler vinyl tops and rubber pieces. I think the Sideshow premium format figures look great, my LCS sometimes has one or two out on display. But they are very expensive, maybe twice as much as a 1/6 figure. And they're big.

My main concern with Sinestro would be the possible fragility of the base and constructs.

If you're new to Hot Toys, and you're not a completist, I'd just go with the most recent release rather than try to track down the older figures.

I think the Black Widow Civil War figure looks pretty good, good likeness of ScarJo, and nice classic looking costume.

However, if it were me, I'd see if I could find Age of Ultron BW. I like the accessories, especially the stun effects. Not a classic costume though, and I don't think the shorter hair or the headsculpt is as good as Civil War BW.

Just began collecting Hot Toys, with my first being the Jared Leto Joker Tuxedo version. I am pretty happy with the figure, but I am having an issue with the buttons on the suit coat, mainly that they fall off. On that note, I ordered this figure as my next Hot Toys. It was a tough call given all the HT Terminator releases, but the god-tier Arnie headsculpt won out. Really wish there was a more complete release with all the display options between DX10 and DX13, but I'll probably buckle and get the DX10 eventually(and maybe even a T-1 version.)
