Yo, for the extra faceplate, some Asian countries had the figures ready to sell on the initial release date and GSC caught the issue after they sent a bunch out. So like the philippines had an extra face plate in the baggy. Most of all other figures have the corrected part without the original defective one.

The schoolgirl versions are only really worth it if you have the magical girl versions. They function as DLC to put it really simply.

Mandy has them for pretty damn cheap last time I checked so if you do intend to get the magical girl ver. and want to get the most out of your figs then I suggest you get the schoolgirl versions there.

As standalone figures though, they're pretty mediocre.

Oh man, the magical girl versions are absolutely worth it. They look fantastic, have lots of great accessories and have surprisingly good articulation (with exception of Sayaka and maybe Homura due to the skirts impeding on their hip joints). Only major complaint I've had is that Madoka's yellow paint around the area where the frilly dress is does scrape off after a while, due to the paint aging and due to poor clearance in that area. Also Mami's hair is nowhere near as bright as promo pics make it out to be. But yeah, aside from those they're really worth the money. I think the most expensive of them that I paid for is Mami at 5k, the rest hovered around 4k.

Normally I don't care too much about the boxes being damaged, as it is more important the figure inside, maybe if the box/figure is a limited edition or have really cool art I would be concerned about it (and not always)

Nope, the crapshoot is just part of the package when it comes to bootlegs. Your best bet is to search for Taobao listings that use an in-hand photo rather than the stock image - that way, you can at least see what you're getting, and sometimes even find factory rejects rather than bootlegs.

How new are you people with handling Figma?

The second neckjoint is hardly a standard, and the so-called "hunch" is easily remedied by how you straighten the figure's back which is how a lot of Figma were sculpted even way back. Now I can't say for certain about Samus's case since the figure hasn't arrived yet, but this isn't an issue for Arise Major as anon mentioned here >>6134419 and as you can see in pic-related for both figures of Major.

It's generalizations like these why Max Factory even put out that blog about how to pose your figures more naturally.

They do this a lot, where the upper torso is sculpted with a certain posture in mind. It isn't ideal, but at the same time I wouldn't say one can't work with it. The upper torso is meant to be leaned back, with the neck forward. This is especially true with the implementation of a ball joint inside the head that allows one to maneuver the neck better to accommodate.

The reason the neck sticks 'forward' is that there's no joint connecting it to the chest. Tilt the chest back and it puts the neck back in the right position.

It's not ideal, but there are less joints to avoid breaking up the sculpt. Of course posing her bad is going to give bad posture. I swear, this board can be terrible at posing.

Not all hunch can be fixed with posing. although I only had this problem with luka which has the old archetype. As for the neck, I am not aware of the second neck joint, so when the anon mentioned motoko has "no" neck joint I thought she has NO joint at the neck at all.

Generally, everything they sell could be described as 'like new' with the exception of the packaging, which may have very minor rips/creases/tears, but they usually explicitly state if there's any major damage.

Every figure I've ever bought from them could have passed as being brand new if it wasn't for the seal on the boxes being broken.

Honestly it's not that bad. She feels "complete" as a release. Three faces cover pretty much any expression you might want to do. Two sets of armor gives you all the parts you need for combat. The cat is a cat. Also some kind of "clip stand" thing for floating, no clue what they mean by that.

That's way better than Corrin with her two faces, jewel and sword. Yeah Corrin is cheaper by 600 yen but she is a weak incomplete release who feels like she is missing shit. If the exchange rate stays where it's at or improves (there is rumors it might hit 135 if Trump doesn't fuck up) then that's $52-62 shipped for Kat. I am ok with this. I don't want them to start cutting features and accessories to keep prices low. I'd rather pay a bit more to get a bit more.

Original is going for like 8-10k yen. She is still SORTA worth owning because the accessories are all slightly different. Original has an open mouth smile and yelling looking to the side face. New one has close mouth smile, open mouth surprise and yelling looking straight forward face. The cats are different on both. The original comes with an apple (new one does too if you go GSC shop but fuck that) and the original has a SLIGHTLY different costume. Namely the gold trim at the hips and also the visible feet/ankles on the original.

For those who just want one this new one is probably the best option.

Berserker amour 2.0 is pretty much what I want. Make it an amoured but normal Guts with an alternate head for going berserk. Combine that with some modern articulation and a few new accessories, and you have my personal wet dream.

They probably won't help you. Remember others having a big issue with them in the past in that they wouldn't combine shit unless it was in an order made at the same time. It has to do with them authorizing a certain amount for payment and it can't be changed. They'd probably just cancel your order and tell you to re-make the order if anything.
