I saw ESB in theaters when it played originally, and have been a fan ever since.
It always bothered me that even back *IN THE 90'S* there were huge chunks of EU that were considered canon, or not, based on how Lucas' I Ching readings were that week.
I like what Disney is doing. It's consistent, there are great shows and products, and all the best figure companies are getting a slice of pie. I have Black Series 6", Mafex, Figuarts & Revoltech all competing and complementing one another on the shelf, and I'm all for it.

Depends on how you view Star Wars. I enjoyed a lot more of the EU than I disliked and I really enjoyed how (despite the fact that at times it didn't work) the various people who worked on EU stuff throughout the years tried to keep things coherent and even referenced stuff from other works, like how the Legacy comics have Darth Krayt interact with holocron spirits from Darth Bane, Nihilus and Andeddu. It was a nice way to further cement all the works in one universe.

I've never liked settings with multiple continuities like Marvel and DC does. I prefer all works to take place in one universe.

The Bantam era books suffered from really bad superweapon-of-the-week syndrome, but with a few standout works like the Thrawn Trilogy. The overall writing quality did improve when Del Rey took over publishing.

I can't say I've read everything EU but generally anything by Matthew Stover (Traitor, Shatterpoint, Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor, etc.) is solid/exceptional.

I just remembered I'm going to Chicago in April and there's a few Walmarts where I'm gonna be at (Shore Drive), reckon it's worth trekking out to them by then or will they be all gone?

It's been a little over a month and this guy just got to my home state. Next time I'll just bite the bullet and pay an extra $18 for faster shipping. The wait is killing me.

ayyy lmao, that's where I'm from and I'd describe it as retail hell. Those stores aren't in my area though, so it might be worth a go. I got both versions online with in-store pickup, but they're not listed in-stock on their site anymore so I donno what that exactly means.
